The Gambit Bar

Gambit is such a great spot in Vail, fun atmosphere, great drinks, amazing music and an overall welcoming vibe. What really made the experience stand out was the amazing staff. Austin and Chadwick behind the bar were fantastic, super knowledgeable, attentive, and made excellent drink recommendations. Nayeli and Paula and Alejandro were also wonderful, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly the whole time. You can really tell the team enjoys what they do, and it shows in the service. Definitely a place I’d come back to and recommend to anyone visiting Vail!

I don’t usually do reviews but I had to when it came to this bar and service. The atmosphere was so welcoming, nice and clean. Kayla the waitress was very friendly and made us feel comfortable but most of all the bartender Chad made the absolute best drinks for us all. Top of the line. We had to go to bar to comment to him about the excellent tasting drinks and he also was so friendly and just one of those bartenders that you just never wanted to leave. I would recommend this bar (especially the bartender) to all my friends and family when they go to Vail, this was my first time but so glad I chose this bar to go to.

Austin and John are terrific servers. Definition of customer service. We came to vail for the first time not knowing where to go and they made our weekend. It is easy to get a table even when busy. I 100% recommend for any type of customer.

Relaxed atmosphere with comfortable seating, soft lighting & live music. Tucked away just enough off the main walking path, The Gambit was the perfect spot to get off our feet and enjoy a well crafted cocktail. Recommended by another local bartender, we knew we wouldn’t be disappointed. Staff was friendly.

The best kept secret in Vail! One of the only 2 true craft cocktail bars in the area, with an inviting and beautiful newly renovated bar.. What used to be Frost, inside the Sebastian hotel, is now a completely new experience at The Gambit! Sat at the bar and had an absolutely amazing time with live music and new cocktails, with the bartenders that were exciting to watch creating every drink and totally crushing it! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Vail. 🙌🏻

If you want to sit in a super-stylish bar, sipping a perfect smoked old fashioned, snacking on some flatbread or tortilla soup, you won't find a better more romantic vibe. This truly is Vail at its finest.

First, the ambiance and guitarist were great. This place has so much potential. We came here based on other reviews and were there from 3:30 to 5:00 pm on a Thursday. The place was fairly empty. Our server was fairly rude on first interaction when we asked about a menu item that they apparently no longer carried. She said all they have is what's on the menu in a terse sort of way. Ok, well then. We ordered an espresso martini and club soda. The martini was good. We ordered the French onion soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. The grilled cheese was good. The French onion soup was sour and had no seasoning whatsoever. We had to go find it sever to get some salt but it didn't help. Inedible. We sent it back and the serve said yes, it's not my favorite. We ordered another grilled cheese. The cheese wasn't melted, I included a photo. How can you screw up soup and grilled cheese at a restaurant in Vail?! Server was terrible, food was poor. Don't recommend. It's sad because we drove to Vail from Keystone because it was my birthday. Do not recommend!

Was staying at The Sebastian (the hotel the bar is located in) and had 2 very different experiences on 2 different nights. The first night was fine, typical bar and experience. The 2nd night was terrible. I ordered a chocolate martini at the bar (I could clearly see the chocolate liqueur right in front of me) and the bartender said, verbatim, "that sucks". I was so thrown off and almost thought he was kidding, so I said that I could order something else. He said "no it's ok" and then proceeded to walk away laughing. He then gave me the chocolate martini with CHUNKS of ice in it. It was so noticeable that a woman sitting 2 seats down from me noticed it and asked if there was ice in my martini. Hopefully this is just one bad apple of a bartender, because I was extremely disappointed in both the service and my drink. I've had better martinis at a strip mall restaurant. Considering this is located in a resort town, they need to find a better bartender.

We just went for drinks after walking around Vail Village. Fun atmosphere with live music. They were busy so it took a little bit to get served, but the drinks were great. I'd definitely go back.

The espresso martinis were off the chart, the vibe was so good. Would come here all the time if I lived here! Will def be the spot going forward when I'm in vail. The bartender Spencer was an absolute joy. Very attentive, and great at making drinks!

Phenomenal experience. World class, hand-crafted cocktails that rival the best bars in my hometown of San Francisco. The space is classy- great decor, and upscale ambiance balanced with an understated, unpretentious vibe. It somehow thread the needle of quality and comfort beautifully. The staff took incredible care of me- thank you! And the (unexpected) icing on the cake was great live music!

Wow this place is such an improvement from Frost! The ambience, the music, the service - no comparison. I've been coming to Vail over 10 years, and I've never felt so welcome from the staff, especially the manager Garrett. I feel like because of Garrett this place is thriving and the staff is some of the best in town! They actually care, and enjoy doing their job while carrying a smile! Definitely my go-to spot in Vail.
