We stayed here for 5 nights at the beginning of June. As a family of 4 with 2 teenage girls, we found the room lovely and roomy. It was in a brilliant location for exploring Hollywood and the free shuttle to Universal and city walk was a brilliant bonus! The hotel had a wonderful vibe and all the staff are really friendly and helpful. We loved the evening movies by the pool and found this a great way to relax after an active day. The food and drinks were really reasonably priced and delicious so we ate here several times. The pool area is lovely in the sun however is transformed in the evening with gorgeous fairy lights and the open fire and patio heaters make it cosy after dark. All in all we absolutely loved this hotel and should we ever return to LA, we would definitely stay again!!!!

Usually I just make a few notes about hotels we stay at, but this place is deserving of much more. Very groovy hotel in the best possible way. Kitsch but tastefully done. The staff were all remarkably friendly from the housekeepers to the bar and front desk. This place is so cool that I wish we had a few days just to hang out at the hotel as the atmosphere is a vibe, and there are a ton of events and activities. The free shuttle to Universal was great and always on time. I will absolutely stay here Again the rooms were very nice and well appointed with in-theme decor. It feels very much like an updated 70's hotel, but again in the best ways. Family of 4, our first time here and we are loved it! Highly recommended.

Even though it's a 3-star hotel, it feels like you're staying at resort. They have everything you may need on your business trip or vacation - a restaurant with a good food (surprisingly good for California), a nicely designed pool with hot tubs, and a lobby bar by the pool with a great choice of drinks. There are gym, laundry room (coins operated), small shop, and a beautiful lounge. And it's very close to Universal Studios Park (with a free tram), subway, and most of Hollywood sightseeing are within 10 minutes drive. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well maintained. Only one thing I didn't like is that my room was facing highway, and sometimes it was too much noise from traffic. I'll definitely stay here next time visiting.

We had a lovely time staying at this retro boutique hotel for three nights in June. The decor was so cool and the room was clean and spacious. We loved all the hotel amenities including the pool, hot tub, fitness center and onsite store. The Garland had an old school resort feel which was enhanced by the movie by the pool every night and the option to order LA Street Tacos as well as food from the bar and onsite restaurant. The location to Universal was ideal and the complimentary trolley from Universal to the hotel was very much appreciated. Onsite parking was pretty expensive but seemed to be typical for LA hotels. Overall we would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Spent about 1k at this hotel for two nights. I expected an extravagant experience but that’s far from the reality of this hotel. Please save your money. We had a situation with parking where they said go around the hotel and park in the back. So we left the location and ended up lost. The neighborhood is awful and scary to be lost in!!!! They overcharged us for parking being 36$ a night and charged us again at the gate. They said they will refund it but this shouldn’t be an occurrence at all. Water pressure is not good. I’ve stayed in better 3 star hotels at the fraction of the price. Only good part was the trolley to universal studios but we had to sit behind a group of loud people that talked about all their family drama. Next time I’d rather just walk.

The hotel is beautiful and retro decorated which we both loved. The bedroom was lovely and comfortable however the air-conditioning units are old and very noisy and could really do with an update as it does make a loud noise when turned on. |The bar area is beautiful peaceful and the staff so pleasant. The pool area is great and the sunbeams so comfy. the restraint and hotel shop are also excellent. The location is near a busy road but in the room you cant hear road noise, the problem with LA is that it is vast and most places are only achievable by taxi or driving although the hotel puts a free bus shuttle to Universal studios approx 10 mins away every hour. Overall a brilliant stay

Stayed here during our California trip for my daughter’s Senior grad present & The hotel was amazing. Absolutely love that there is a kids hot tub and an over 21 hot tub. Our room was great and house cleaning came every day and did a spectacular job. The food was equally as great.

Awesome 👌. Trolley service to hollywood was really helpful. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Loved the room with balcony and nestled between trees, it was relaxing. We loved the stay. Plenty of parking next to our room accessible entrance close to our room were all really helpful.
