"We don’t fully understand what goes on inside the Brooklyn Navy Yard besides unmarked buildings, security guards, and UPS trucks. OK, that last one is pretty self-explanatory. But something we are certain of is that very good whiskey is made at Kings County Distillery. They have a separate tasting room just inside the gates of the Navy Yard, and when it’s nice out, they fill their courtyard out front with picnic tables. It’s a fun spot to try flights of different whiskeys or cocktails (they make the mixers and grow the garnishes for each on-site)." - Matt Tervooren

gem. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is on point—candlelit, moody, and set to a perfect soundtrack. It’s easily one of the best date night spots I’ve seen on the East Coast, with a cozy, intimate vibe that’s also incredibly Instagram-worthy. We kicked things off with espresso martinis, which packed a serious punch (in the best way). From there, we explored cocktails featuring their moonshine and darker spirits—each one expertly crafted and full of rich, bold flavors. If you’re looking for a unique, atmospheric spot for cocktails in Brooklyn, this place is a must-visit. Can’t wait to come back!

I first visited Kings County Distillery in 2015 and while I have had their stuff since then, I can't believe I haven't been back since then. The Gatehouses are a great place to hang and drink. First, since it's a historic building it's very rustic yet feels warm and welcome. The bathrooms are downstairs via an d spiral staircase in what used to be the basement and they still have the Air Raid Instructions. As for the spirits, well they are.nothing short of incredible. I had the five spirit tasting flight then decided to also try the coffee whiskey and the two variations of Kings Code they had available. The Kings Code is amazing it's a blend that Kings County Master Distiller makes from private barrels they acquire from other places and wow just wow. Overall, if you like whiskey make sure you visit the oldest distillery in NYC. Oh and to the owner/manager the girl working on . Monday when I visited was great, she knew her stuff and it was a pleasure talking with her about the different whiskeys.

Delicious drinks and a cool spot to hang out. We got the espresso martinis and it was exactly what we needed. The outdoor space was great for the dog to hang out with us - lots of picnic tables! Highly recommend going down the spiral stairs to the bathroom just to see the vibe down there 🤣 Would definitely go back!

Stumbled upon this cute whisky distillery while we were looking for a rooftop bar near Dumbo. Glad we went here instead! The drinks were really good (a bit too strong), the service was excellent, and the interior elevated the overall ambiance! 😊

Overall rating: 5 ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED. I know it’s already high at 4.7, but this is the vibe. It a bit hard to get to, I know, I know. But it’s in a castle type & I am just in love. I can’t remember when it closes, but it’s definitely an after work vibe or Sunday afternoon date. I’m not sure what it’s like at night, but I also don’t think the hours go into that late. Highly recommend, highly recommend if you’re a whisky fan. A great spot to go solo and read a book. And afternoon date. A group of friends. One minor minor comment: if you go in the summer, be prepared for a lot of mosquitos! Not sure if it’s because of the location or what. But next time I go, I will be wearing a lot of bug spray.

The bar of Kings county distillery. They only carry their own product. They've partnered with a food vendor for snacks. The bartenders are all cool, the ambiance is nice, the drinks are priced well and you can actually hear each other.

Two of my friends got married here in a small ceremony in front of friends and family. They did a nice job of doing up the space for that. Excellent place to take photos, especially during golden hour. The place turned out to be a wonderful place for a party for those few nights in September when it doesn't rain. If you've got some Instax film, the staff will even lend you their camera so you can later piece together some moments from what was probably a great night.

Aesthetically this bar is a slice of heaven. The kings county alcohol is also superb. The bartender ruins the experience with her pouty entitled attitude, like she’s doing you a favor. Her pencillins are watered down, although she makes a proper Manhattan.
