Getaway Review - Brooklyn - New York - The Infatuation

"Places that serve non-alcoholic mixed drinks usually only offer a few, and those tend to feel more like a chance to charge $13 for ginger beer and old parsley than thoughtful cocktails. At Getaway, though, non-alcoholic drinks aren’t just an afterthought - they’re the only thought. All of the drinks at this Greenpoint bar are non-alcoholic, including beer, wine, and about 15 cocktails. Besides the absence of alcohol, this place feels like any other attractive cocktail bar with Happy Hour specials, grilled cheese sandwiches, and candlelit tables ideal for casual dates." - Matt Tervooren

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Getaway is hands down the best food I’ve had in Tampa! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was perfect—waterfront views, vibrant energy, and the kind of vibe that instantly makes you feel like you’re on vacation. Every dish we ordered was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The seafood was incredibly fresh, the portions were generous, and you could truly taste the quality in every bite. As someone who reviews food around the world, I can confidently say this spot stands out as a must-visit in Tampa. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and check out The Getaway—amazing food, beautiful scenery, and a dining experience that’s second to none. I’ll be back every time I’m in town! 🌴🍤🔥

Google
The best Florida restaurant that I have been to by far. The location and atmosphere is perfect. The wait staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Johnny was our server/bartender and he was incredibly helpful and present despite being so busy today. This is a place I would reccomend for sure to all and I will definitely be coming back to this place. The mahi mahi blackened is the dish that I would reccomend everyone to try. The coconut rice paired so well with it.

Very cute place to relax and enjoy the water. Great for families and for anyone just wanting to have a good place to eat with a pretty view. The actual guy who brought us our food was nice as well as the people at the cabana. However the girl at the front was very rude to us and implied that we took a table when we had a beeper and were escorted to the table. It was very busy so I am sure she was stressed but after we told her it was our table she didn’t believe us and then got very condescending. Prior to that I had called and she said they don’t take reservations but when you go on their website you can make a reservation but only for a minimum for 6 so that is why I called it was very confusing. I also asked what oils they use to one of the guys and he said he didn’t know and didn’t really try to find out. So if you are allergic to anything I don’t recommend.

Four of us went on Sunday for brunch. The place was hopping and we were seated within 15 minutes. Initially they wanted to sit us down in the beach area, which means you have to order your food at a walk up stand? That makes no sense since you are literally 5 feet from the full service restaurant under the pavilion. The whole place should be full service. We asked to be seated in the main area since if I wanted to go order my food myself I would have made it at home. We ordered calamari for the table which was pretty good. One of us ordered a Cuban sandwich that seemed a bit dry and boring. My friend said it was lacking in flavor and he did not really enjoy it. I had the Getaway burger, which is not really made to be eaten with your hands. So I had to use a fork and nice to eat it. The pulled pork was flavorless and dried out. The beef patty was also lacking in the flavor department and looked like a frozen patty. The french fries were also frozen from a bag and tasteless as well, which just ruins a meal. This place seems to be more about the views than the actual food.

Google
What a great Tiki bar! The only complaint is -if you sit out by the water, they don’t have wait staff to serve you- only deliver and you order at a hut. Bummer, I probably would have ordered more if someone had come around. Tried the famous poppers $20 for 5, they were good, but a bit greasy, and not much jalapeño flavor. This is a great place to have a few drinks by the water with friends. I heard that there is music on weekends. A Corona was $7.50. Tried this place again- enjoyed the ahi tuna nachos and a guava margarita- both good, but once again disappointed with the service!!! You go up and order yourself- and then wait for your order to be delivered. Again- food arrived 10-15 minutes before we ever received a cocktail! When food was delivered I asked about the drinks and if they could at least deliver a water while we waited for cocktails- never got that. Half of our food was gone before receiving drinks, and they really weren’t very busy! This is super annoying and frustrating! Knocked service review down from a 2 to a 1!

Google
What a beautiful experience on the water! Quick service, a little odd to order at the window and not at your table…we had a table of 9…with kids….so not the restaurants fault but would definitely prefer kids drinks and food to come before adults. Amazing taste and seafood selections! Would like a stronger drink next time.

My group was seated and our waitress didn’t come or introduce herself for quite some time. We weren’t given menus nor did they direct our attention to the QR code for the menu. The physical menu does not have the same items as the virtual menu. We had the pico & guac which was okay, fine as a snack but for $14 seems a little outrageous. The buffalo cauliflower was fine. The best thing we ate was the Ahi Tuna nachos, they were really good and had a good amount of tuna, I recommend sharing as it’s a large portion. (Not pictured) I ordered the soft shell crab sandwich and it was very.. lame. The crab wasn’t overly crispy and the bread was overwhelming. It’s not a dish I would get again or recommend. The pictures were deceiving. Overall it was an OK dining experience, I could see coming back to sit at the bar and get tuna nachos & drinks. P.S in summer the mosquitos are AWFUL, we were attacked the entire meal

Awesome location for relaxing with a cool beverage & friends. We enjoyed the cheeseburger, seafood omelette & seared tuna for lunch on a breezy Monday morning.

Yelp
What an amazing hidden little gem! Not only does the location have plenty of parking but it's a hidden oasis for anyone looking to eat by the water without the hassle and commotion of finding a place on the beach! This tucked away little gem not only has a restaurant but a cute coffee shop too! We came for a nice afternoon lunch on the weekend and were sat immediately right on the water! It was an amazing view of the bay, docks, AND playing dolphins!!!!! There are not very many places you get to live and go to lunch with dolphins playing, so this place is very special to me for that! One odd thing about this restaurant is once you are seated there is a QR code on your table to view the menu; however, whenever you are ready to order you walk up to a shack by the hostess stand and order your food and drinks. Then they are brought to your table, in which you can add anything to your bill by letting a server know! When you go to leave you also have to pay at this shack! It is quite different in regard to typical dining, and it's not as easy to get assistance with things because it wasn't a consistent one server at our table. Nonetheless it was still good service! Now when it comes to the food you are looking at more Islam style/pub food! I highly recommend checking out the coconut iced coffee with or without alcohol!!! (Both tasted great)! We ordered a side of plantains that were more on the soft versus crispy side! We also ordered a burger that was pretty good, nothing special nothing bad! Then lastly, I am pretty sure I ordered the tuna wonton tacos ;however I got the nachos! Either way it was delicious and I would eat them again! Both meals were very filling and I left beyond satisfied. Prices were pretty average in regards to location and types of food, if anything slightly high! But the views make up for it! If you're looking for a place to bring anyone who isn't local, I recommend coming here-- especially if you have kids because the ground is sand and there is a specific area for kids to play!

Yelp
Let me first start by saying, the ambiance of the Bay View and seating is amazing. It was an absolutely beautiful day when we went, and was very busy. We waited probably closer to an hour to get a table for two. We walked along the piers and glared at the boats and we actually did see two manatees in the water go underneath the pier. That was kind of exciting. The food was very good and the people we dealt with were nice. My issue with the restaurant is the cost especially with no server. Two Bloody Marys were $28 before any tip. When we finally got sat, we're told use the QR code to see the menu and then you go to a cabana to order. So they have food runners and bar runners but not actual servers. I was a little put off by that. So there's no getting water refills while you're eating or anything like that. Then our food was served to us with no silverware and the taco dish came with rice. Whatever, I wasn't really concerned about the rice. I love the area especially since you can get into the water with paddle boards and kayaks and such and I would go back for that purpose and maybe get a coffee from the next door neighbor but this is not a place that I would go back to eat.

Yelp
I've been to The Getaway before and absolutely loved it, that's why my most recent visit was so extremely disappointing to the point that I needed to come and write a review to provide management feedback. I have a disability and use a mobility scooter. Like I said, I've been here before and had zero issues with accessibility and knew what to expect. I went on a Sunday, it was an absolutely beautiful sunny day so I knew the restaurant would be crowded, but was willing to wait a bit for a table. When I initially pulled in, the parking lot was full, but there was one disabled space open thankfully. Well, I thought. When I pulled up closer, I realized that there was a huge pile of rocks and dirt in the front half of the parking space, so there wasn't room for a car to be parked there - I think this is illegal? Obviously, I was bummed, but decided to circle the parking lot again in hopes someone was leaving. Then, I saw ANOTHER open disabled space, what are the odds?! I live in Florida, and these spaces usually fill up quickly, so I was so excited. There was one car in front of me circling the parking lot, but they didn't have a disabled license plate or placard, so I truly thought I'd get the space after the passed it. But, of course, they pulled into the disabled spot. I thought to myself, hmm, they must just be dropping someone off. There's no way that someone would park there that wouldn't need it. Well, I was very wrong. They got out of their lifted Jeep, did not have any disabled placard, and proceeded to go into the restaurant. I ended up circling, found a spot, and went inside. Only to realize, the person that parked in the disabled space, was someone that worked at the restaurant! She parked there because the lot was full and needed to get to work, not because she needed it. Definitely put a bad taste in my mouth about this place. It was really frustrating and disheartening. And to top it off, the service was horrible and the food took nearly two hours to come to our table and when it did, the salads had no dressing and the fish wasn't cooked well. In hindsight, I should've just drove away when I noticed that first disabled spot. Thankfully after talking to three different people, they slightly discounted our bill, but we had wasted 3 hours of our day to barely be served. Such a bummer. I hope they address the disabled parking space issue with their staff immediately.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this little spot by accident as we didn't want to wait for our original plan and it was a blessing. We were seated right away. you're able to scan a QR code for the menu and you then go up to the hut, provide your table number, and place your order. Bar tab style. the vibes were vibing and the sun was shining. it was such a chill place. people gathering, some in the water, some in the sand, just a relaxed feeling. there's a cute little cove to walk down with a pretty view. i think you may be able to bring your own kayak, but don't quote me on that as i'm out of town visitor. I had the breakfast tacos and fully loaded bloody mary. it was the perfect start to sunday funday!

Yelp
Went with a group of 8. Parking is limited View is great Food takes a while to come out at least for us. You order at counter and they deliver to table. We got 1/2 of the order and the rest took another 10 min. The food was better than expected based on the Yelp reviews I read. The fish and grits had good flavor and I do recommend blacken but I was disappointed with the quality of the grouper. The yucca fries were excellent. The coconut French toast was light and flavorful

Yelp
Fun, festive and relaxing tiki style restaurant right on the water in St. Petersburg. There are a number of unique dishes on the menu to delight the foodie who loves to try new things. I ordered the hog fish, something I'd never eaten before. Apparently, it's a Florida delicacy. Honestly, it was one of the most delicious pieces of fish I have ever had. The atmosphere was casual and relaxing and service was friendly and accommodating. The price points were reasonable, but I have to say that the portion sizes were smaller than usual. So, order up an appetizer or two to eat before dinner if you are super hungry.

Yelp
No servers. Would have liked a more pleasant attendant. Good location. My tuna nachos were delicious. The place is decent but there's some left to be desired.
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
Love this place for the scenery. 10/10 for beautiful sunsets and beach area. Food is terrible here. Got the mahi dinner and it was so dry and bland. The fish was terrible. No flavor. The rice was equally bad. Hush puppies were so dry and hard as rocks. French fries needed more salt. Never ordering food here again.

Yelp
Enjoyed afternoon cocktails at The Getaway. The weather was perfect to sit by the dock and have a cocktail. Although it was busy they have plenty of seating. Fast and Friendly service. The jalapeño blows Mary was so good!

Yelp
2 hours of sitting with food around 1 hour mark. We Could barely get two drinks or water refill on a very hot day. Server seemed hungover and later admitted to it which is why service was slacking and he said sorry. We came for a birthday lunch and it could've been better food and service overall. The grouper nuggets were just fried and good quality but no flavor or spices added. Parking situation is pretty good with a large lot and a bar and coffee area which may be different. You can also rent kayaks or tie up a boat near so water front access and beautiful ambiance. The environment alone earns 5 stars.
google avatar

AJ S.

Yelp
We came here for few beers and ended up getting food and relaxing outside which wasn't too hot thankfully. Our waiter was amazing and pretty funny! The food was delicious my husband got the wings and I got pulled pork nachos or taco salad whichever you want to call it. It was delicious and I couldn't eat it all! Nothing but good vibes here. Be sure to come visit hang out for their bunches! You won't regret it!

A B.

Yelp
DON'T DO IT!!! What a complete bunch of crap. If you like to be ripped off go here. Ordered three double house vodka cranberries. Bill came for three with tax.....$62.50!!!! So I said you're telling me they're $20 a drink for house vodka which happened to be Tito's. The guy said yes.....sorry. with tip they were $23.33 a piece. For a double Tito's with cranberry. Are you out of your freaking mind? Sandwiches were like $22 and $25 per sandwich. I'm a local and it's an absolutely beautiful place that's covered with bees flying hitting your head the whole time, between that and the prices there's too many beautiful places around here I will never go again for any reason not even if someone else was paying. Who the heck likes getting ripped off? Raise your hand? No one? Yeah.

Yelp
This could have possibly been the worst dining experience I have ever had. My friends and I showed up and waited one hour for a table. Not a big deal, it was a beautiful day out but once we got seated is where it all went wrong. No one greeted us for 20 minutes and someone finally walked over and informed us we needed to order at a window. When ordering a chicken caesar wrap, my friend with a shellfish allergy wanted to inform them that he had the allergy and that there was no cross contamination. I guess the cashier went to talk to the chef and the chef said word for word "it's a seafood restaurant. what do you expect". Than we waited an hour and thirty minutes for the food and half off the orders came out wrong. Cool place for drinks but will not be dining here again.

Kim M.

Yelp
The place itself is nice . On the water . We were able to see dolphins and manatees. You wait for a table and then order at the tiki hut . Price for two people for breakfast and 2 coffees was $60 . Expensive for what we ordered . We then received our coffees after 15 minutes of waiting . Looked like ice was already starting to melt . Now , the issue was the food . It took 50 minutes to come out . People next to us were canceling their order because food had not come . I flagged down someone that worked there and she said " 50 minutes is about right ". Nobody told us that's how long it would take for food to come out . She then came back with our food . Food ... was just okay . Not worth the money and time ! If I was to go back it would be for drinks only .

Yelp
Amazing view of the water!! Food was solid, and service was great! I liked the crab cakes a lot, but my friend's shrimp tacos were beyond! Will definitely get the shrimp tacos if I go back. Oh, definitely grab a slice of the strawberry cream cake! Yum. I'm also told the key lime is wonderful, but we didn't get that one.

Scott H.

Yelp
The restaurant itself looks great and they did a great job with the vibe. Food is decent and prices aren't that outrageous considering the views. With that said, service is atrocious. Came on a Saturday night with probably only 10 tables occupied out of a possible 30ish... not busy. We didn't have a single waiter come, had to get our own water, yet expected to tip 15-20%. - food didn't come out until the one hour 10 min mark, and one dish was missing. That dish came 25 minutes later and they were super rude about it. Asking about proof of receipt (they have an IPad, they can see it!) telling us there's nothing they can do. Wouldn't comp anything or say anything but sorry. Absolutely would avoid and won't be back. Not worth 90+ mins of trouble and a totally rude and off putting staff.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this hidden gem! It's right on the water at Weedon Island preserve. We sat and watched the paddle boarders paddle back and forth while sipping our cocktails which was fun. Shortly before we'd gone paddle boarding ourselves. It was nice to get off the water and lounge. Food was fresh, tasty, and the service was great and friendly! Totally want to go again soon!

Milla E.

Yelp
Solid bar type food, the servers seat you immediately. I love how relaxed the atmosphere is here. Also, they have adorable cats that like to hangout around the entrance.
google avatar

Yelp
Our intentions were to try Patrona Coastal for coffee on the water. However, the line was super long. So we thought we could bypass the line thru the getaway. I have to say the view is very nice. It was def getting busier & warmer during the day so we lucked out and found a table with an umbrella. The sand on our toes felt refreshing, the birds chirping, watched boats go by and really felt this fun vacation vibe. 3 stars because we waited for our food for so long. We were warned that it would be only around 30 mins wait. Our waiter kept on coming back and just making sure we were good. I know the place is pretty darn popular but it was the weekend and they should staff up to accommodate the influx of guests. It's awful to wait for more than 1-1 1/2 hour for simple but delicious food. I may try to go again but avoid peak times.
google avatar

Angie Z.

Yelp
Food and service sucked!!! Mahi Mahi very dry. Took 2 hours to get food!!!!!! They were not even going to offer to comp our meal! The manager needs more customer training!
google avatar

Teresa C.

Yelp
A local spot on the water ... great grouper sandwich .. the breading is so light . Fries are seasoned and delicious .. great regular Bloody Mary. Saw dolphin and a manatee at lunch. You order at the bar and then it's delivered to your table. Servers were attentive and friendly. Beautiful view of the water... relaxing and low key atmosphere . Highly recommend .

Yelp
The Getaway is truly a hidden gem that transports you to a vacation-like atmosphere. Despite being close to home, I love visiting because it feels like a beach getaway. One of the highlights has been encountering dolphins off the dock, making it such a memorable experience. The food is pretty good overall, especially their delicious potato salad and great tacos. The drinks also hit the spot. However, it's worth noting that the service can be a bit slow, so expect a longer dining experience. Additionally, be prepared for bugs, especially during certain times, so bringing bug spray is a good idea. Despite these minor drawbacks, The Getaway is still a wonderful spot for a beachy vibe and tasty food.
google avatar

Yelp
Food 10/10 amazing. Such a great place! Amazing amazing food & such a beautiful view! Highly recommend coming for brunch or lunch!

Yelp
It's a tiki bar. All outdoor seating. Awesome beach, chill vibe. Everyone around us was drinking Coronas we had an Ultra and Prosecco. The bees were if in full swarm sucking down every drop of sugar/sweetness they could find. I'm a huge supporter of save the bees but they were in full team spirit tonight. Menu looked decent, bar foods and fired delights. We didn't eat but enjoyed the water, the sunset and the tiki bar vibes. Great place to bring the boat or launch your afternoon/evening sunset cruise after a nice cocktail.

Yelp
It has been a while so thought I would update my review. Still a very chill place to relax and take in an island vibe. Open seating so head back and grab one. Don't forget your sunglasses! Menu is all online and it is massive. A little overwhelming reading it on the phone. After grabbing a table Allison was right there to take our order. We started with the Buffalo cauliflower. Lightly breaded and tasty but not hot at all. Had a side of hot Buffalo sauce to heat it up. For lunch I had the Cuban. Had all the right meats but it was cold when I got it. Also was missing the Mayo and mustard. It was ok. Deb had the wanton tacos app as her meal. Pretty good. Very large drink menu and the couple we had were tasty. Drinks were reasonably priced but the food was a little high IMO. Overall a solid spot to relax and take in the Florida weather but the food was just ok.

Yelp
A beautiful getaway with so much potential... I've been here a couple times, and this last time was the poorest service we've ever gotten. This restaurant must be going thru trial and error with a side of new management. The second to last time, I sat on the deck, where I was asked to go up to a computer and order food and drinks - defeating the purpose of table service so I could tip. This time, we decided to sit in the mangrove for the beautiful scenery - Oceanside in the sand - yet to be asked to walk up the cabana to order.. okay.. there was a line of customers wanting to order. To make matters more difficult, the lady behind the cashier got our food order wrong, noticed our table had a previous tab open (not us,) and incorrectly cashed us out. I work in the service industry so I'm a patient person when it comes to these matters, however, I could see this place lose massive business just because of these little things. When people go out to eat and drink, table service is customary and adds to the experience. I hate for this restaurant to go out of business due to whoever is running this place not understand the basics of a restaurant business. It's kinda obvious.... Train your staff. Hire more servers. Make your customers happy!
google avatar

Andy W.

Yelp
This new cabana ordering system has totally taken away from the experience of getting away! If you are driving everyone to look at menus on a QRC why not just have us order through our phone. We came to be served and relax and now having to take every bodies order up to the cabana and wait in line is so stressing and takes away from the good vibes the place use to have.
google avatar

Alison C.

Yelp
The ambiance here is gorgeous--right on the water and beautiful views. Unfortunately that is about all I enjoyed here. We ordered a couple of cocktails here and couldn't taste any alcohol at all, I really don't think there was any in them so we ended up sending them back and getting beer instead. We split a few apps, which were very subpar. We felt bad sending anything else back but hardly ate them. The volcano shrimp was the best of what we got but I would not come back here for it. Would completely avoid the jalepeno poppers. Maybe just come here for some beer and wine and ambiance and you'll have a better experience!
google avatar

Ashley D.

Yelp
We were told by someone up front to seat ourselves. We waited 45 mins and never received a menu, or any service what's so ever. Unfortunately we had to just leave.
google avatar

Trevor D.

Yelp
I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at The Getaway was so disappointing that I felt compelled to share. We arrived and were seated, but after 20 minutes, we still hadn't even received menus. We were left waiting with no communication from staff about the delay. When we finally got menus and were ready to order drinks, we waited another long stretch with no sign of the waitress. We understand that sometimes places get busy, but the wait was ridiculous, and we ended up leaving before we could even place an order. The waitress seemed to be doing her best, but it was clear she was overwhelmed--having to bus tables, serve drinks at the bar, and take orders all at once is not a fair expectation for one person. This restaurant clearly needs better management and staffing. A better system is absolutely necessary if they want to keep customers. We won't be returning.
google avatar

Kat B.

Yelp
A tiny cheeseburger for $17.50? No thank you. You can see in one of my photos, menu, how small it is and that's the restaurant's picture. We saw one in person and the patty was invisible. The ambiance is beautiful, service not so attentive, when not physically helping someone the bartender was constantly playing with his phone, the food not close to worth the money. It's questionable whether the guacamole and pico are made in house but I'm quite sure the buffalo cauliflower was frozen and lacked any buffalo flavor. I am a local and know all the great water front places in Tampa Bay is this is one I won't return to unless ownership changes for the better.
google avatar

Jake W.

Yelp
This hidden gem located in St. Pete offers a flavorful variety of seafood and land dishes with a very nice view of the Tampa Bay. The vibes are immaculate with half of this establishment on foundation with another half on a short beach extending from the water. The staff were very friendly and helpful in assisting our party of 12, food came out relatively quick after ordering as well. The food was nothing short but incredible. I myself enjoyed The Getaway Burger... one of the greatest and unique burgers I've ever indulged in my life. The variety of seafood tacos impressed my fellow guests, as well as quick refill orders for our beverages. I would highly suggest grabbing dinner here whenever you're in town.
google avatar

Jake B.

Yelp
Atmosphere was absolutely perfect and so were the grouper tacos. Ordering and serving system seems to have some issues to iron out, but overall a great experience. Will be back.

Yelp
This is a great hidden gem right off the Gandy. Beautiful spot right on the water. Many of the tables are shaded with umbrellas and there are a few outdoor fans, but I wish there were a few more. Food was pretty good but I would have liked a few more healthy food options. We had the Crispy Broccoli, which was excellent, the shrimp cocktail, also good, the guacamole and chips, and the burger. Had some frozen drinks too. Service was good and everything came out fairly quickly.

Andrea B.

Yelp
Such a beautiful place but we got terrible service and they make you tip up front. - It took almost an hour to get our food and drinks got there 20min after the food after flagging people down twice - Once you sit down youre on your own as you have no server, you order at the counter and no one checks on you - When food arrived, the kids meal was missing entirely and the food runner didn't even notice. By the time we got it, everyone was done eating and my kid was hangry since we had spicy food and couldnt share ours - Had to ask several times for a high chair - Food is overpriced and lacks seasoning. The ahi tuna salad and spicy shrimp were good but the rest was bland - Parking was great

Yelp
Have not been here in a very long time. Stopped by for lunch and let me tell you it's like a little beach "getaway". Today was a perfect day for this little spot for lunch. Right in front of the water way to watch boaters pass by as well as kayakers and paddle boarders. The food is great mostly seafood but they do have burger options and taco options and chicken. They have a big bar area with multiple drink options. Friendly staff as well. A little disclaimer though, you will need to provide a credit card to get preauthorized which I've never had to do when I came here a while back ago (I don't know what the reason could be but I think is probably bc some people walked out on their bill...some people have the nerves). Anyway, this is still a nice spot and will still come here again. Highly recommended when/if you are in the area.

Yelp
Today, I discovered this little gem spot. I met my friends there for brunch. This place has such a beautiful view and the atmosphere is really nice. Our server Alexa was amazing and very attentive to our needs. My friends enjoyed their drinks, but I did not taste any mango flavor in my Mango Rickey. My quesadilla was extremely delicious. After brunch, we took so many beautiful pictures. I will definitely come back.

Yelp
Pretty disappointing restaurant. Basically a food truck business model with upscale restaurant pricing. The view is nice but that's about it. Service is absolutely non-existent and the one girl that we could find was blazed and wearing sunnies at 8pm, not impressive. Prices are way high, 7.50 for a domestic light beer and entrees are 17-25$ for a sandwich and fries. Appetizer came out with the entrees- also not rocket science. Would not recommend. 2/10

Yelp
The Getaway... Food... I had the opportunity of visiting the Getaway and I have to mention the food experience has been great. I ordered the shrimp and crab quesadillas and lobster tacos with fries. I'm a big seafood lover and I enjoyed every bite. Service.. The service was great and the waitress was kind and helpful with the food options. Scenery.. Please do not underestimate this location. The Getaway is located off the water by Gandy Bridge between Tampa & St Petersburg. Believe me when I say... It's a vibe. I will be back again to enjoy the food and location again.

Yelp
This place is pretty decent. Not especially amazing but good. The smoothie was actually great. They have a lot of seating and it's very full but you get a nice view of the water. Food takes a while to come so take that into consideration.

Yelp
Good was delicious, meal came out before appetizer Food was good, had the grouper appetizer, grouper sandwich (wished I had ordered fried), grouper taco, definitely not the best I have had but pretty good. Service was lazy. Our server acted as though she would rather be somewhere else. May give another try not sure if it would be worth it.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to eat and bring friends & family who are visiting from out of town. Their food is great, and I love the ambiance. Last time I went, we sat outside near the swing with my young children and there were quite a few mosquitoes around that time. The young man server just brought us some bug spray, which was super considerate! It's truly a gem and will definitely keep returning.

Yelp
Food - After reading previous reviews, we were pleasantly surprised that the food was pretty good. Service - was very attentive but not bothersome. Our server was super busy but didn't skip a beat. Ambiance - well you can't go wrong with a water view. Dining outside in paradise with a nice view of the water is always a plus. Love the vibe!!!

Yelp
Once again a great meal. Server was prompt and super friendly. Had the conch fritters and they were great as usual. Tried the tuna poke bowl this time and it was great. The tuna was super fresh and rice was cooked perfect. My only dig and it's minor is the drinks could be a little bigger

Yelp
Great location on the water..the waiter was great. We had the crab stack it was very good and so was the Ahi tuna salad but the lobster tacos came out very dark and tasted burnt. Thats why I'm not giving 5 stars.

Yelp
The only good thing I can say is the view and atmosphere are great. However the service is lousy! First called to make a reservation and got voice mail. Did not get a return call to reserve a table until 5 days after we had already been there. The price is EXTREMLY over priced and the food is some of the worst I have ever had in the Tampa Bay area. The cost for 5 adults to have dinner and 2 drinks each was $443 before tip and 2 of those orders were shrimp and fries that each came with 5 shrimp only. The RAT I saw walking on the wires between tiki huts was not a highlight either. We will never be going back and you should never go as there are so many better places to dine along the water.

Yelp
Tropical spot tucked away off of Gandy...wouldn't know it's there. Relaxing vibe and beautiful/new dock, bar and deck furniture. Service was fast and accommodating. Unfortunately the food was 2 stars, but have them an extra star for the beach/island ambiance. The volcano shrimp was overly battered and not even slightly spicy...but the bird seemed to enjoy it and we were happy to share.

Yelp
Great ambiance with waterfront view and tiki influence. There is a reason pictures are of view. Service was good but The entree was a thin piece of over salted mahi on a big plate of overcooked rice. Great place to bring guests but don't expect to find Gordon Ramsey in the kitchen
