The Giddy Goat Coffee Roasters

Pretty Cool place to stop by. I've passed this coffee house several times but didn't stop until today. I'm told there is sometimes a line out the door. Great baked goods. There croissants are small but delicious. They have a decent variety of breakfast foods, wraps, cakes, muffins, energy balls. They even have milk alternatives.

Really great coffee shop in Plaza Midwood. They have so much seating and two floors which was great for a busy Saturday morning. The line was long but it went by fast. Service was great as well! I ordered some empanadas to share. They were all very good. I had the chicken, Patagonia, and breakfast empanadas. My favorite was the breakfast one. They ere all very flavorful and the crust was nice and flaky. I also tried the rounded chocolate croissant. It was really good and filled with cream! My coffee was an iced caramel latte. It was good but the coffee didn't have a very strong flavor.

In short, here's how the Sunday visit went: -Little to no parking; Had to park in Harris Teeter parking lot even though there are multiple signs that say "No restaurant parking, towing enforced." (Be careful) -Very busy and the line was about to start forming out the door. (Not sure if it's always like this or just increased foot traffic due to the holiday weekend). Line did move at an ok speed. I waited about 10 minutes before ordering my food. -Ambience is cool. Due to all the people, this is a good coffee shop to chat or get a quick bite to eat, maybe not study or focus in depth. -Ordered a dirty vanilla chai plus breakfast empanada. It tasted like espresso and milk only. I added chai concentrate to the drink when I got home and it was still bland. I didn't finish the drink. Breakfast empanada gave me more of a breakfast puff pastry than an empanada, but It was tasty and I like the sauce. I would order the empanadas in multiples because my friend had the Patagonia empanada with chimichurri sauce and enjoyed it as well. -There's a nice variety of pastries and drinks to choose from. It's also cool that they offer tango classes on Thursdays Cool place overall, but the competition is stiff as there are plenty of coffee shops in the area that may be a little more memorable.

Giddy goat is a great coffee shop right in the heart of Plaza Midwood. The coffee is great and they also have amazing empanadas! Love stopping by to get some work done on the patio out front or on the rooftop terrace. Can't go wrong here!

I have been here a few times for breakfast and was not disappointed. On a Sunday morning, it was busy but the line moved quickly. We were able to find a table upstairs. There is outdoor seating! The empanadas were very good. We ordered the breakfast, corn and caprese. They all were very good and filled with flavor. Also they have a few varieties of breakfast burritos. The staff were very friendly and did not rush ordering, even though the lines were long. They have a large variety of coffees and teas. A must try when in Plaza Midwood.

Came here on a Sunday morning with a friend and was pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere and flavors! The coffee was top notch. I got a hot coffee with lavender syrup and my friend ordered an iced coffee with vanilla flavoring. There is a self-serve station to add creamer and sugars next to the register. The banana loaf was very good and even better heated up (just ask)! It tastes like something you spend a hours and hours making at home and it's vegan! The empanada was perfect savory flavors for breakfast. We sat outside on a picnic table to let my friend's kid play on the sidewalk while we chatted and enjoyed our coffee and food. There were a lot of kids and families with the same idea on the outside patio and strollers and dogs were abundant. There is an upstairs and a few scattered tables inside that were taken up by people working on laptops. There is plenty of street parking if you can't find a spot in the small lot next to the building. Can't wait to come back and try more of their treats!

Really was excited to try this place. Super popular and busy. Will say it was probably a 3.5 but help doesn't allow me to rate in half. Unfortunately, my coffee was really bad and watery/burnt but the croissant was amazing. Hard to find seating on weekends for people actually wanting to sit and eat.

So many options! The chocolate croissant was so good. They have multiple coffee options and the prices are really stellar. It looks like they also host some events such as yoga. There are multiple tables inside with outlets if you wanted to work from home then it would be a great spot! Additionally in this great weather they are ample outdoor seating from high tables to picnic tables on both sides of the sidewalk right out back. They have beautiful plants and flowers outdoor as well but I ran out of being able to add more photos. I'd love to try more pastries on my next trip!

The ambiance is great and it's centrally located in the plaza midwood area, but the bakery including the empanadas are a bit disappointing, especially after seeing one of the Instagram influencers rated this "best empanadas in town". The parking could also be a pain, we have to park far at a very expensive parking lot just to be here. With that said, if you live around here and love to work in a cool environment with nice vibes and don't eat much bakery to begin with, this place might end up being your go-to spot.

This place is sooo good! Definitely a go-to breakfast or study spot when I'm in the area. The food is delicious and the coffee is too. One of the few places in all of NC I've been that has really great empanadas. Cuban girl approved! The people are also really nice and the service is fast even when busy. Great place to study without it being too noisy and while the parking fills up quickly there's lots of street parking around too!

Employees were nice and helpful with advice. It's a cute area to work from and I love that the window open wide. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The lavender latte was delicious!

What a neat spot in Plaza, and from the looks of it, they run a great business! Came in on a Thursday while my child was at ballet and enjoyed a nitro cold brew and their seasonal empanada (fun guy). The cold brew was everything you expect cold brew to be, smooth, creamy, no bitterness - all around good flavor. The empanada was also good. It had way too many onions for my liking, and no egg in it - so I'm not sure I got the correct one based on what the menu said the fun guy should be. The mushrooms were perfectly cooked and the pastry was delightfully flaky.

The vibes in here are so fun! This place has TONS of seating areas inside and outside. Upstairs there is a lounge with a fireplace and a bar. Downstairs there's some seating but it's mostly outside. They have a rewards program too that can get you free drinks! It's hard to find parking around here so you might have to pay or walk far, but it's worth it! Love this spot!

Come get your coffee - a history lesson on coffee and a sort of mini museum of coffee roasters - grab a tee shirt or mug and a super quaint spot to catch up with an old friend or new one! Looks like they have an upstairs loft area that is reservable too. They're whole beans are usually within 14 days of their roast date if you're trying to be a coffee snob like we are lol. We just bought a Breville so appreciating the art of the coffee bean! The staff was helpful with our many coffee bean questions?????

I came in here on a Monday afternoon. There was definitely a steady flow of business but plenty of seating available! It seems like a lot of people will come here to work - it had the right vibes for that! I ordered a coffee and then 3 empanadas - the Patagonia, caprese, and breakfast. The breakfast one was my favorite and I wasn't a huge fan of the caprese.

This place is a gem and serve the best empanadas in Charlotte. Bonus: their coffee is always delicious and have plenty of milk and flavor options.

Came here for the first time for breakfast. Super fun and unique shop. Food was great. We liked the breakfast empanada the best. Coffee was delicious too. The vibe was great, very cozy for a Sunday coffee trip. Will be back!

Loved the atmosphere and setup! Such a great spot. The seasonal drink menu is amazing. I'd definitely recommend the matcha, protein iced coffees, and empanadas. The other baked treats looked delicious as well. :)

Coffee and so much more! They have a small beer and wine menu and an entire case of baked good and sandwiches, as well as empandas and some other items that all looked delicious! We had a chai latte and a coffee of the day as well as a peanut butter bar and cinnamon bread. Hubby loved the peanut butter bar, tons of peanut butter on a granola base and cinnamon loaf was full of flavor. There is seating inside and tables set up outside. There is also an area upstairs to sit but that seems to fill up quickly! The line never ends, and while they are quick to take orders in, it can be a bit of a wait, especially if you get food. Staff is helpful and friendly, keeping the tables clean for the constant stream of people. There is a parking lot with limited space and some street parking as well. It is definitely kid friendly, so if you need a quiet space, this might not be the best. However, if you're looking for a space to work and people watch while drinking great coffee and eating yummy things, you must check out the Giddy Goat!

Food and drinks are a good value. There's a large selection of pastries and snacks. The ambiance is welcoming and calm making it ideal for coworking. Service is lovely too. One of my favorite cafes in the area!

My new favorite coffee shop! Located in the heart of Central ave/Plaza this uber spacious coffee shop has some of the best patio seating and interior space. There are two levels, so you can get work done on the roof with some sun shining down on you, or the ground level with picnic tables under tree shade. The customer service was excellent, I was greeted immediately and informed of all the goodies. I only got coffee this time but will def try an empanada when I return. The coffee was excellent and priced fairly at 2.65 for a large mug. Pro tip: On weekends only, they have breakfast burritos!

Great atmosphere and the coffee is fantastic. I love the dining area as well as the variety of seating options. You can pop I with a book or your laptop for a work. Leisurely dine on their empanadas and have a custom coffee experience.

This Plaza Midwood coffee shop has plenty of seating, both outside and inside. They have a food menu of delicious empanadas and a full bar upstairs. The chai tea and matcha lattes are also good. This place is quickly becoming one of my go to spots to work/study.

Giddy is always a go to in plaza midwood. Has great vibes and great food. I love the quiche! The staff is always so friendly!

This is a cute coffee shop located next to the fire station. Everyone seemed to be doing their own thing from working on their computers, hanging out with friends, or just stopping by for a quick coffee. It was busy for a Tuesday afternoon. The service was good. I got an iced coffee with caramel and it was tasty. Prices are great!

Great spot in Plaza Midwood! I rarely find myself in this neighborhood, but it has CHANGED tremendously. Almost reminds me of the "transformation" in SouthEnd, but not the same scale. Anyways... Giddy Goat is a nice spot to grab some caffeine and snacks. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating and very 4 legged friendly (with the patio). Found myself here grabbing a flat white and a breakfast empanada the other Sunday while waiting for my meetup for a walking mural tour. Staffers are super friendly and it was fairly busy on a Sunday morning (before 8am). Good for them! Noticed there are beers on tap so makes for a great hang out space. I also noticed a lot of people coming in with laptops to get work done or meet with clients. Don't forget to check out the awesome mural on the side of the building. Our mural walking tour ended there. And folks headed in for a bite, but I had to run to do other Sunday adulting activities, otherwise I would have joined in for round two of snacks.

For those looking for a coffee spot, a spot to study, a spot for a beer, or a spot for delicious Argentinian Empanadas and pastries GO HERE!!!! I pride myself on looking for great coffee shops around NC and I'm happy to say this is one of them. The cappuccino and peppermint mocha were velvety and perfectly blended with coffee and milk. They also offered several other syrups for lattes too! Next up the food, please get an empanadas or 3 cause you won't regret a single bite. I love finding Latin food in NC and I would come back for more of these. The people here were wonderful as well and everyone was friendly and happy to answer questions about their menu and offered samples of their coffee if needed to make the right choice. And of course the ambiance here was just great! I came to study here and it's more lively than other coffee shops but I'd still come back. It had such a fun and inviting atmosphere while also giving bar and cafe vibes all at once. If a cafe could be a Jack of all trades this might be the one! Can't wait to return!

Food and coffee was phenomenal! The service was great and super convenient that you can order online and skip the line. The ambiance was nice for families with small children. I suggest the upper lounge for a more romantic date. Expect most of the tables taken by singles with laptops! great place

Giddy Goat is a unique find and I'm so glad we tried it! It's a small coffee shop, but has tons of seating options with indoor, outdoor, upstairs, and patio seating available. There are plenty of outlet access points if you come to work/study and there are some board games available upstairs if you come to hangout and have a good time. The staff are so friendly, helpful, and conversational. They made us laugh and greatly contributed to our overwhelmingly positive experience at Giddy Goat. It is super popular and trendy, we love the atmosphere, music, and environmentally conscious alternatives. They have biodegradable agave fiber straws and serve their special sauces in compostable little cup. They also have a compost bin in addition to a regular trash bin. The coffee was good, you can tell they are the kind of coffeeshop that really cares about serving flavorful coffee. They also serve a variety of empanadas which is super different! We tried a few different ones and they were all delicious. The second time we went we tried some of their sweet treats and those also did not disappoint! They also provide free self-serve water or sparkling water which is nice. We will be visiting regularly from now on!

Fun, busy, great menu, serves food and great coffee drink. Tons of Seating inside and on the fabulous sunny Sunday I was there outside seating was a prized commodity. Great neighborhood coffee shop. Pretty nice prices too. Very clean too! Was a really well run place and the cappuccino I got was awesome. Made like I asked .. dry , lots of foam. Nice strong coffee . If I lived around here I'd be here all the time.

I found this place browsing Yelp. The vegan empanadas peeked my interest. I ordered three veggie burritos, 4 chocolate coconut energy balls (as recommended), a dozen empanadas (half vegan and half meat), the vegan cinnamon bread and the vegan banana bread. My total came to $86. Service was great! My order was ready within 10 minutes. I saw families playing board games, individuals working, and people who seemed to be enjoying themselves. The food was good. The energy balls were very good. The empanadas were well received. They were gone by morning the next day.

Giddy goat is a great coffee shop not only for the relaxed atmosphere but also to support businesses focused on sustainability. I had a cappuccino and added the seasonal pumpkin syrup to it. I thought the addition of pumpkin was great. The coffee tasted on the lighter side which isn't my preference. Overall I will be back to for another cup and possibly to try a baked good!

I cannot say enough about this place. The service is always speedy and warm, just like their hot brews. They have seating upstairs, downstairs and outside. The only challenge is parking in the tiny lot which most of the time forces you to park on the street or find the lot a block away and walk. It's honestly a small price to pay for their yummy, unique treats and fresh brews. The vibe is authentic and it makes you feel like you're on vacation and happened to stumble upon a hit spot for the locals. The several times I've been here, I always take coworkers or friends. It's a place I'm proud of have in the community and the fact they employ a gentleman with Down Syndrome to work there and feel part of the community is AMAZING. It's great that they truly take equal opportunity employer seriously and see the value in everyone who wants to be part of their community impact. Massive kudos and I'll certainly keep coming back for the incredible goodies and heartfelt service.

Went yesterday for the first time - I needed a place to work for a few hours in Charlotte and close to an event I was going to. The place is very cute! I grabbed an ice coffee that was amazing - totally forgot the time though and only drank a little bit since I'm sensitive to caffeine. I grabbed a table - it was nice and busy inside - and got to work! The WiFi was awesome, the music choices were solid, and I worked until they closed at 6. The staff were really nice during our interactions. I wish I'd been hungry to try some food - next time I will!

The Giddy Goat Coffee Roasters is EXCEPTIONAL. If you have not been here yet, you need to check this place out ASAP. It's interesting because I came here once before, but, at that time, I was not compelled to leave a review. Today, I went back for coffee, empanadas, and pastries. Guys, I was blown away. The coffee was TOP NOTCH and tasted fancy. The empanadas were so flavorful and fresh. And the pastries, OMG, were magnificent. They definitely make everything in house because the ingredients they use, how they combine things, is unique and special! The seasonal scone had fresh cranberries and fresh orange zest. Even their butter croissant was pretty darn fantastic, which was surprising for me because I'm slightly a croissant snob. Just wow. I really want to go back right now and buy more pastries. I was eyeing their granola bars and peppermint chocolate muffin, but I may or may not have already spent $30 here! So worth it though. So worth it!

With great coffee, pastries, food, and vibes, the Giddy Goat is bound to make you giddy! We came on a spring mid-week morning, and it was quite busy both inside and outside. The Goat has a bit of Argentine flare with tango classes on certain nights and empanadas on offer. We orders 3 emps - beef, chicken, and corn - and got both sauces (chimichurri & harissa). These warm, filled pastries were DELISH and the ideal way to start the day, in my opinion. We also got a slice of cinnamon bread, which they kindly warmed up for us, and iced dirty chai lattes, which were prepared very well and served in glasses instead of plastic cups with straws, which was appreciated. We enjoyed our breakfast on the tables outside, the perfect place for people watching in Plaza Midwood, and are giddy to come back to try the beers on tap and weekend food offerings.

AMBIANCE IS AMAZING AND OUTDOOR SEATING IS LOVELY FOR GOOD WEATHER DAYS. i love coffee shops, and this place really raises the bar in all aspects - food, ambience, service, vibes. has a friendly neighborhood bar vibe. The space itself is bright and airy, with plenty of seating options whether you want to work or catch up with friends. And the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming - they'll make you feel like a regular even if it's your first time there. I walked in to do some work and Karen kindly treated me. I picked two flavors of their protein balls and she gave me an extra to try because it was my first time. If you're hungrier than I was, they have a great selection of pastries, empanadas, salads, sandwiches and light bites to pair with your coffee. On weekends they have allegedly very popular burritos that I have yet to try. Dog-friendly with water bowls outside, and plenty of picnic tables if you want to sit outside on a nice day. Will definitely be returning soon! It's the perfect spot to start your day or take a break from the everyday hustle and bustle.

I just watched a barista (with a brown baseball cap) clean the bathroom, take out the bathroom trash and return inside WITHOUT WASHING HIS HANDS. He proceeded to the food prep area, joined in a conversation with colleagues and serving customers. **Coffee was lovely.**

Great coffee shop! Parking can be tight but there is parallel parking right in front of the coffee shop and further down on commonwealth if needed. The latte is great. They also have a lot of pastries. On the weekend they sell breakfast burritos that are delicious- definitely get one if you can. There is seating downstairs and upstairs as well as outside. We sat on the big couch upstairs by the fireplace and it was so cozy!

Really cool and modern coffee store! Has an amazing spot of outdoor seating and more indoor seating upstairs. The employees were very kind and the coffee was so good! They had such appetizing looking pastries and food and I saw a lot of people enjoying their orders. They host a lot of fun events like morning workouts and tango sessions that I will definitely come back for!

I was in town visiting family and Giddy Goat Coffee was suggested by my sister and a few friends. Luckily it was within walking distance so my BF and I headed there on an early afternoon when we needed a nice pick me up. They have a small and quite tight parking lot out front, a patio and a beautiful interior with a ton of lovely wood elements, as you can see in the photos. The staff was friendly and the service was quick too. The only bummer was that they only add whole milk and oakmilk, both of which I can't drink so I was limited to cold brew coffee. Apparently there is an almond milk shortage, at least according to their staff. I haven't experienced this anywhere else but whatever. After exploring other coffee shops in the area I would likely skip on this one... mainly due to my dietary restrictions. That is if I'm going just for the coffee. If I needed to get some work done or was meeting a friend to hang, I would return for the environment alone.

Delicious peanut butter bar! There was a long line on Saturday at this Plaza Midwood coffee place but I wanted a snack. They have a variety of food, snacks too. I went for the peanut butter bar with fudgy chocolate, chia seeds and something like granola. It was delicious! The ice coffee was okay but not my favorite. Parking is in their lot or wherever you can find it in Plaza.

There are so many great coffee shops in Charlotte but this place is something special. Never been a fan of tea but after sampling their nitro tea I had to have one and even got one to go--my new favorite thing! My sister got a lavender latte that was also good. I had an empanada that was great and we also tried the cinnamon bread and blueberry muffin that were both good. It's a great spot to post up and do work or relax with friends. They have an indoor and outdoor area as well as a quieter upstairs area. I can not wait to go back!! @charlottefoodandfun

Cute little corner cafe with space to enjoy coffee, hard seltzers, beer on tap, pastries, empanadas and more. They have patio seating and seating upstairs with a cozy electric fireplace nook. Great service.

Such a cute little spot that I've been wanting to try forever! Ordered some lattes and banana bread and all were yummy. Seating inside, outside and they have a loft upstairs too! They have a nice bakery case with sandwiches, salads and pastries. They also have a full coffee bar and beer as well! Fantastic place to work or relax :)

They have vegan empanadas, pastries, and breads. Great spot to bring your laptop and work. They have a quieter space upstairs. They're opening a Giddy Goat in the Dowd YMCA. Yess to the Peppermint Mocha Latte! My favorite holiday coffee drink. The Chocolate Chip Muffin was delicious and had chocolate chips throughout. The croissant was fresh and oh so buttery. Can't wait until they open one in the Dowd, Plaza Midwood is a little drive from me.

Pls stop playing Taylor Swift for hours on repeat. This is honestly very annoying for customers.
