Great, friendly accommodating owner! Joe and his small team are very nice. Adorable cozy clean sushi spot. Friendly cashier and staff always welcoming you in. My favorite roll is the Alaska roll, but I’ve also had their fresh nigiri set and the penguin platter is full of variety. It would be great for a party platter as it’s delicious! I have frequented this spot often for quick lunches when I’m shopping or out in that side of the city in Roseville. Would highly recommend, a small friendly gem. Very casual but like-able!

The rice is cooked to perfection. Very well seasoned, staff was very nice, and the decor is cute and clean and aesthetic. Our current favorite sushi place!

I’ve tried a few sushi joints in the area Goblin is my favorite. It’s clean. It’s cool. The sushi is good. The service is good. The prices are fair. The aesthetic is modern Asian vibe. I like it. I like it a lot.

I’ve been loyal to Goblin since 2019 when I moved to the area and was looking for a sushi place. They had just opened and quickly became my sushi obsession 🤣🤣 They have a small dining area, modernly decorated, and it’s a fun experience to sit up at the bar and watch the sushi chefs. Joe, the owner, is down-to-earth and truly knows his craft. Hands-down, my favorite place in the area to get the best, FRESH sushi. Their impeccable quality and service is top notch! The sushi platter is the way to go and makes an excellent staple for parties! The Alaskan roll is one of my favorites, along with their belly salmon with house made soy (this is available on request but usually in limited quantities so make sure to ask if available) 🤤🤤🤤 Also, if you’re in the mood for dessert, try the Matcha cheesecake!

I loved this place! The decor was different from most sushi restaurants with colorful and fun vibes. The chef was great and made a little something special off menu for my daughter. SUSHI AND SALAD WAS GREAT! I got a salmon roll and added to it to make more complex on flavors I like and I also got a salad with a different take on dressing not your usual ginger dressing but vinegars and delicious I recommend!!

BBQ eel + crunch flakes add-on BBQ Eel is among my favorite meats to get when I go to any sushi place, and this one was by far the best I’ve had. The sauce and the eel were warmed and sweet without being too rich for my teeth, which I appreciated. Delicious! Perfect rice, fresh avocado and cucumber throughout every dish that had it! Yellowtail with scallion + cream cheese add-on Fresh, light, lots of flavor which says a lot for whitefish when I have a sweet dish , salmon and blue fin tuna. Blue fin tuna + cream cheese add-on The cut of this tuna was rich and the depth of flavor was a pleasant treat. A nice clean cut that was also filling! Such a nice bite. Salmon belly The rib-eye of sushi! Beautiful marbling throughout the cuts of salmon in this roll were magnificent. A gift from the chef himself, and one I did not take for granted! I savored the unique cut from my welcoming host and took my time with each bite. All in all, I’d take the drive to come see this place if it means getting taken care of by such gracious business owners and employees AND getting a meal I’m guaranteed to enjoy. I was only out for a doctor’s appointment in the area, but I ended up adding a delicious and affordable stop to my list of favorites. Absolutely incredible! Their menu is simple but done so well! The salmon was so incredibly fresh and fatty. The staff was super kind and the chef even prepared us each a special piece of sushi as a treat

Stopped in for lunch today, and as always, 5 Star service, 5 Star food, and a beautiful place to take a break in my work day!! Not to mention, the chef made an extra piece for me after I was already eating. It was a pleasant surprise and delicious 😋

I had this place saved for a long time and finally got to try it out. I am very selective when it comes to my raw fish and only trust a few places (Noble Fish, So Zai, One World Market) and am happy that I can now add The Goblin to my list! The fish tasted fresh and I would say the quality compares to Noble Fish. We got the Goblin Panda Tray which is a great price ($50 for 48 pieces). We had minimal left over and thought it was the perfect portion for 2. We sat at the bar area and the sushi chef was so kind and offered us a free sushi sample as well as a sample of REAL wasabi! The offer complimentary tea and have a variety of Korean snacks (like choco pie) as well as their branded merchandise/apparel for sale.

This place is just awesome! Not only is the sushi fresh and well priced, but the chefs and staff are all so friendly. I've eaten in the restaurant and have gotten take out and both times I left thinking "I love this place!" If you haven't been, you need to!!!

This sushi is so good and it's a really fair price for what you get! Me and my friend shared the penguin tray and it was amazing.

It's very cute and cozy inside. I was greet quickly and my order was made in record time. The sushi was flavorful and good. Even though there are 8 pieces, I got 2 rolls, which I was happy I did because they are much smaller than some other places I frequent.

They deserve the score they have. I got the sushi platter and it was incredible. I was impressed with the taste, variety, and price. 48 pieces of sushi for $50. The variety was a mix of raw and cooked. Not just salmon and tuna. 2 man crew took it down but that was over eating. That could easily be split with 3 people. At $18/ person, that's pretty good for sushi! I'll be back as long as that deal exists.

I love this place so much and it's one of my go-to sushi spots. The staff are so friendly and the service is absolutely amazing. Very generous of the chefs to offer rotating menu items or experimental dishes, every time I go we love it. LOVE the ambiance as well, the bright interior and minimalistic plating gives off a very clean and comfortable feeling. The sushi is one of the freshest tasting I've ever had. Amazing. Definitely try all of the nigiri. My personal favorite is the torched squid.

I love this place and the people who work here! Everyone is so nice and the food is so fresh. Not a lot of seating inside but I did notice they were busy with carry outs. It was my sons first time trying sushi so I ordered him the California roll and he didn't like it (he is very picky). The chefs noticed this and made him a cute little grilled salmon creation on top of rice and encouraged him to try it. That was so nice of them. I will definitely return to try more!

I found The Goblin randomly while driving Gratiot, and decided to give them a try. The rolls had good flavor, but they were TINY compared to my go to sushi place: Asahi. I'd go back in a pinch, but would prefer Asahi. The store itself has a very cool, clean, Japanese decore. Overall, it was overpriced for the size of the sushi.

I LOVE this place. Literally the best sushi around and it is so fresh. I come to The Goblin at least three times a week.

Great food. Wait was longer than what was stated on the online order very bright inside and no all the cute items and hello kitty are not for sale. Very warm inside, thankful we took to go.

My daughter and myself just love this place! It is so good, the inside is so clean and bright. Everyone is always so nice when you come here. We have always had good sushi here, never a complaint. I highly recommend coming here !!!!

I have been wanting go try this place for so long, but because of the pandemic and them closing on Mondays, it was hard. Last Friday though, we finally went and had the best experience. The restaurant looks like it shouldn't be in that area because it looks out of place. I am happy it is located in clinton township because it is close to where I live. Inside of the store, it kind of reminds you of a mini convenient store because they do sell some merch and snacks. It is also very clean and they play korean pop music. This place is more like a to-go kind of place but have a good amount of seating if you decide to stay to eat. They will hand you a menu to ook at, then you order at the register. My husband and I decided dine-in and glad we did. The sushi chef (they called themselves cooks, which I disagree) were so nice and made on time there so enjoyable. They were so respectful and the service was great. The food comes in a to-go container and you drink water from paper cups. The sushi itself gave your tastebuds a happy tingle that makes you want to order more. What I love about the sushi is that they flavor in the rice. Flavoring the rice enhances the sushi by 10folds. My husbad told me that "my mouth is so happy right now." I honestly cant wait to go back to eat there again.

Got carryout for Mother's Day. Really fantastic sushi with excellent fish to rice ratio. Well worth the drive from Grosse Pointe, nothing nearby compares.

Drove from Toledo and stumbled across this sushi spot It's friendly, quirky, fresh and delicious. A bright white jewel in a mini strip mall. Everything we had was flavorful and perfect. We tried the scorched scallops and scorched salmon; what a treat. We also ordered yellowtail and chives, chicken teriyaki roll, and the firecracker roll. I generally am not a fan of warm sushi but this managed to maintain its freshness with its simplicity. We have a GREAT sushi spot in Toledo but can't ever get in. This place is my new long distance craving. Be back soon.

Don't bother reading reviews, you have to try Goblin for yourself. This is by far the best sushi restaurant and has the most fresh fish. The sushi chefs are amazing! They're so friendly, hard working, generous, and talented. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorites are the salmon belly and spicy tuna rolls. However, everything is really good and fresh. I'm not a huge fan of yellowtail, but it's super fresh and popular here. Service, food taste and quality are 5/5. It's the only sushi restaurant I'll ever go to, especially in Michigan. Nothing compares to the taste and freshness. The ambience is also perfect. They have KPOP playing and the interior is so cute. It makes you feel like you're in LA or Japan/Korea. FYI this is more of a takeout place so I do not recommend coming here with a large group, however it's great for a date or to grab sushi with a friend!

The service here is top notch, wholesome chefs that serve A grade sushi. I wasn't that hungry when I stopped by but I couldn't stop eating and trying new rolls! Outside the place doesn't look like much, as there was just a paper sign with the name of the place, but inside was so clean and cute! The atmosphere was nice, they played popular kpop music videos on the big screen tv which was fun to watch and listen to.

everything is made right in front of you. The fish is as fresh as it can be. they use less rice as a filler than most sushi restaurants. I have to say some of the best that I have ever had. and the restaurant is super clean. note very little seating for inside dining but the quality of the food makes up for it.

Have been wanting to try Goblin for a while. My daughter and I were very happy. Very friendly staff. We had the barbecue eel bowl, seaweed salad, caterpillar role, and dragon role. The food quality and taste were on point with what I expected based on reviews. We ate in and we're given a sample of a scrumptious sample. Not sure it's on the menu, but it should be. Very clean and cute decor. Will certainly be back.

Cute, hidden gem in an area that's sorely lacking good sushi spots. Staff is super friendly, and service was prompt. I tried the sushi bowls, one salmon and the other spicy tuna. Both were delicious. Everything is super fresh, and their spicy mayo is amazing. If you don't want rice with the bowl, you can swap it for mixed greens. The only suggestion I would make is maybe they should slice the salmon into smaller pieces. The menu isn't huge, but it's enough. I'll definitely be back for more.

The sushi here so very fresh & one of my favorite. I only wish I lived closer. The owner is nice if you ever get to chat w him. I recommend the sashimi to really enjoy the fish. The rice is a bit to get use to since it's warm and softer than what I'm use to. This place does get busy w takeout so order ahead. Definitely recommend dining in once to get all that fresh sushi as they come out.

There's no sign on the building, just can tell seeing the sushi chefs working behind the bar. It's the building with the pink drapes or curtains on the windows. The interior looks lab clean from first impressions. We ordered the Alaska, caterpillar roll with crab instead of shrimp inside, chicken teriyaki roll, California with cream cheese and a crab salad roll. $48.23 is our total and about 20-25 minutes to be ready. They asked if we wanted to pay before picking it up. I don't tend to pay until I have what I am paying for in hand, but they are probably offering the pay ahead due to the pandemic. Having a bit of wifi connection issues with the credit card reader for me. Had to restart their iPad o get the card reader to work. The guy working behind the counter was super friendly and explained to me what was going on and apologized for the card reader delays. The Alaska roll was my most favorite, the caterpillar and chicken teriyaki were also the preferred rolls out of all of the rolls we ordered tonight. The caterpillar was tasty, would recommend a seed or two from the jalapeño as it didn't have any heat to it at all. The Philly roll was creamy as was the crab salad roll, but seem so plain and boring next to the fancier rolls. We ate the more expensive rolls last. The chicken teriyaki was sweet and creamy with the cream cheese in it. The rolls tasted super fresh and of course, since they were busy rolling out the orders when we arrived. I would recommend the top 3 picks from order again for another visit.

Order well ahead of time, they are very busy! All the rolls were really good, I especially enjoyed the spicy tuna and the Alaskan. This place is a welcome addition to the sushi restaurants as many of them do not have fresh fish or charge out of world prices for average sushi. My only knock really is that a few rolls were a bit cold but this could've just been because it was carry out. I'm more than willing to go try it out again once places open back up for a fresh and in person experience. Thank you for an awesome meal!

Seriously the owner is amazing! We stopped here because it popped up on our yelp and we are so glad. This is the best "fast" sushi EVER! No frills just perfect sushi! If your looking for real plates and wait staff this is not it. Order at the counter, easy to read menu (giant pictures on the walls). Nice selection of raw and rolls. We got the penguin platter of sushi and it didn't disappoint. A combination of 6 different rolls. Chef also offered us a complimentary fresh salmon and it was like heaven! Get your sushi at the goblin! We will totally be back and order the party trays to go!

I think I've gotten takeout from Goblin 6 or 7 times by this point, and I've never been disappointed. Quite the opposite - the quality of fish and variety of rolls that the offer is excellent. My first visit I indulged with the dosirak, it was SO GOOD. Not currently on the menu but if they ever bring it back I would like them to text me personally so I can be first in line! Follow up visits have resulted in multiple penguin party trays eaten (I always feel bad for the penguin at the end though!) and many a 3-piece nigiri demolished. The quality is certainly there, the menu is awesome and if you hang out on Instagram a lot, their videos are great too! Looking forward to many a curbside order to get me through the impending doom of a pandemic winter!

Me and two buddies were looking for a sushi place so we checked yelp and the Goblin had 5 stars so we figured we'd give it a try. The place is small but very clean the owners are friendly and the service amazing, the menu is not huge but the quality is top notch presentation awesome it will be the only place I go for sushi from this point on.

This was only my third time eating sushi so my review is not coming from an experienced sushi eater. We decided to meet here for lunch. I honestly had no expectations at all as I wasn't sure what to expect. When I parked I was surprised to see the strip mall it was in. But the Goblin stood out from the rest of the strip mall. The sign is bright and welcoming and pink curtains adorned the windows. When we walked in I was immediately surprised by the decor! With the name of "goblin" you don't expect it to be bright and airy. Beautiful soft pinks and blues surround you. It felt like I was in the bedroom of my dreams when I was 16. It was very beautifully decorated. You can either order from the wall menu or they have physical menus as well. I let him order because... Well I don't have a clue. He ordered a few items which we split. Everything was so fantastic! I ate until I could eat no more and let him finish the rest off. I have finally mastered chopsticks so I was proud of myself. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. We ended up sitting there chatting for quite a while and we're surprised at how busy they were with door dash orders and carry out! It's obviously a very popular spot! We asked about the new Detroit location and we're told that it is decorated even more beautifully! We will definitely be checking out the Detroit location. My son has been wanting to try sushi but ordering is intimidating to me. I think I may have enough knowledge to order for him now. I plan on bringing him back to try sushi for the first time. I would definitely recommend coming and checking this place out! Even if it's a bit of a drive. It's worth it!

This is probably the best sushi I've had in a while. As many sushi eaters know, a good roll of sushi starts with the rice. Goblin makes a tasty rice blend that stands out from the rest. The fish is sourced locally from noble fish so it's fresh and tasty. Also, the owners are really nice. Very clean, quaint store that serves excellent sushi.

I took my son here for his birthday and they treated us very well. We were inexperienced sushi eaters so the staff kept giving us some samples of different types of sushi to try. They even gave my son a packet of Pokémon cards for his birthday. Friendly staff. Awesome food! I highly recommend the Torched Salmon.

If you're seeking delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, incredible people- then look no further! Just left this establishment with the family feeling healthy full and my kids can't stop bragging. We ordered the panda arrangement and also had the opportunity to try their fresh yellow tail and blue fin tuna - everything tastes like it just came from the sea - so fresh! My son also had the matcha cheesecake for his birthday treat and can't stop eating it despite being full. Our only regret is not coming sooner! Will definitely be coming back for many times to come.
