Where to Eat and Drink on a Denver Rooftop | Eater Denver

"On the site of a historic grain mill, this Golden food hall became an instant west-side destination when it opened back in April. Two banks of self-service taps; a quintet of vendors serving up barbecue, sushi, fried chicken, and more; and a live music calendar are the main draws — but the expansive, fire pit–dotted rooftop deck, boasting views of North and South Table Mountain and Clear Creek, is also key to its appeal." - Eater Staff

Such a fun place for lunch. Right on the river with a view of the Coors plant. Iconic! I got the BBQ and it was delicious. Smoked chicken sandwich with potato salad. The potato salad was some of the best that I’ve had in a while. A tangy crunchy pickle pop really made it. There are a few other good choices there too. It’s like an elevated food court.

Google
Love the self-serve beer concept. Drank a few ounces of Coors because when in Rome. . . Food wise, we tried the sushi spot and the bbq! Both were awesome! Live music and beautiful views really add to the vibe!

Leila Gabrovec

Google
Vibe is fantastic. Reminds me of Austin, TX. We only tried the sushi but it was pretty good. Not the best I’ve ever had but hit the spot on a warm breezy day. My husband liked the beer concept. Place was exceptionally clean.

Stumbled upon this creek side restaurant while hanging in Golden pre red rocks concert. Very cool concept. Check in at front desk, give a cc and they provide you with a swipe card for drinks and 4-5 different food options including sushi, bbq, tacos, ice cream and another one … sorry didn’t get to that one. Sushi was the best!! Lots of beers, ciders, seltzers and mixed drinks so everyone was happy. Dog friendly with outdoor/indoor seating next to a running creek. Loved it!!

This place truly has something for everyone! From food to drinks, you can bring the whole crew and everyone will find something to enjoy. With 40 taps downstairs and 16 more upstairs, you’ll find everything from beer, wine, and cocktails to seltzers and even non-alcoholic sodas. They even offer tap cocktails served in salt-rimmed glassware, a fun and thoughtful touch! The food menu has plenty of options to satisfy any palate, and the rooftop patio views are epic, a perfect spot to hang out in Golden. As a fun bonus, it’s located right across the street from the Coors Brewery, and during Happy Hour, they serve Coors at half price (the same price as a soda!). Grab your friends, head to the rooftop, and enjoy one of the most well-rounded spots in town.

Google
This is a great place to go to when you have lots of people (or just two) with dietary restrictions, different food preferences or when you just want a night out. We enjoyed food from several places as well as just a little bit of cider (instead of having to buy a whole glass). There is a lot of outside seating and the restaurant can be really busy on the weekends and in the evenings, or can be quiet if you go in the off hours.

Food halls are the best... Especially dog-friendlly ones! We went here around lunch time on a Saturday (prime time). It was packed! But everything we had was great! I'll definitely be back! So, the way it works is you wait in line (if theres one) and get carded. Staff load these special cards with your credit card to use throughout the food hall. At the end of the night an 18% gratuity is added and your tab is closed. You can leave and come back within the same day with the same card (skipping the line upon re-entry). There are shades and misting fans blowing cool air throughout the outdoor seating area. People go around constantly bussing tables. There are self-service taps on the 1st floor and a few on the 2nd floor. It is charged by ounce. So if you just want a little, you can do that... or a big pour! They had all types of beer, selter, cider, mixed drinks (bees knees & prickly pear marg are a few in saw), and wine - all on tap. They have various sized/styled glasses to chose from including a salted rim rocks glass for on tap cocktails. They have water coolers with disposable doggie bowls also! To eat we got: *brisket, smoked mac & cheese and coleslaw -very good! *poke bowl (ahi with the poke spicy sauce, jalapeño, cucumber, white onion & avocado on rice) *beer (ipa, sour) We came back a few hours later for this: *ice cream (salted caramel oreo, birthday cake with sprinkles & a puppy cup!)

Jake Hoover

Google
The only reason I'm dropping a star is the price. Beer is super expensive. They also charge 18% gratuity when you have to serve yourself. Everyone was very nice. It was clean and the sushi I got was delicious. I guess Golden is just an expensive town but $10 for a beer you pour yourself is kinda nuts. Wait, it's actually more like $12 after the forced gratuity.

Yelp
We had a great time here while visiting in Golden. The location is fantastic, not a bad view. We immediately went to look around as it is a food hall. We wanted to see the offerings, and we were not disappointed. Burgers, tacos, BBQ, New Zealand creamy ice cream and all the beers, kombucha you want. I really liked that you just give your card and just run up your tab. You order at various places if you want and you get a text when it is ready. Service is great as they had some staff members coming by and picking up. Everything was very clean. We tried different beers and kombucha as you could pour however much or however little you wanted. I had tacos and my husband had their burger with fries and after we had some ice cream. We went to their upstairs area overlooking the river and it was a very nice day for that. The ambience is so chill. I highly recommend it. We ended up staying for a while and just dog watching and people watching. It is pet friendly and that's a plus since there's dogs everywhere.

Yelp
This is a fun food hall with pour your own adult beverages. We met up with friends on this particular evening. It was cold outside. There were some brave souls gathered around the heaters outside, but we did not have that level of stamina. We headed inside and found some space at one of the communal tables. The set up is simple. You head up to the main desk, put a card on file. There is an automatic tip for the evening. You are given however many cards you need for your party and off you go. At the end of the night just drop your card in one of the boxes by the doors. We popped over to Tacos Al Chile and put in an order for some happy hour nachos and a cup of the green chili (yum!). Going during happy hour finds some great deals. We got a text once our food was ready. As for the beverages, there was the special tapping for the night which was being served. Then there was the pour your own area. There is a great selection of beer, plus cocktails and wine. Something for everyone. I would love to go back in the summer and check out their rooftop seating.

Yelp
A Triple Threat of Deliciousness! I recently stopped by The Golden Mill in charming Golden, Colorado, and oh, what a treat! This gem of a spot serves up a trifecta of awesomeness: mouthwatering BBQ, creamy ice cream, and an impressive selection of beers and wine. The BBQ was tender, smoky, and full of flavor, with a variety of options to satisfy any craving. I indulged in the slow-cooked brisket, and it simply fell apart at the touch of my fork. The sides were equally impressive, with the crispy onion rings and creamy coleslaw being standouts. But the sweet treat that followed was the pièce de résistance - the ice cream! Rich, creamy, and available in a range of unique flavors, it was the perfect way to cap off my meal. I opted for the seasonal peach flavor, and it was love at first bite. And let's not forget the beverages! The Golden Mill boasts an impressive selection of craft beers and wine, ensuring there's something for every taste bud. I sampled a local IPA and a glass of Pinot Grigio, both of which paired perfectly with my meal. In short, The Golden Mill is a must-visit destination for anyone passing through Golden. With its delectable BBQ, decadent ice cream, and excellent drinks, it's a triple threat of deliciousness that will leave you wanting more. it's a culinary gem that shines bright!

Yelp
If you're in Golden, this is a great spot to check out yourself or especially with a group! Located right Downtown and along Clear Creek, you'll have beautiful views of Clear Creek and South Table. You'll have to find street parking or park in one of the nearby garages. One of the most fun parts of The Golden Mill are the "pour your own drink" walls. There is a large one downstairs and a smaller one on the upper level where you can pour yourself one of the many beers, ciders, mixed drinks, and wines, including sake. If you'r not sure how to pour a beer to not get too much foam, luckily employees are usually around to help you out. There are lots of different food options too, including barbecue, chicken, sushi, ice cream, and more. It's great when visiting with a group, because everyone can get something different for food. In the summer, sitting on the rooftop deck is beautiful for the views overlooking South Table. Downstairs, there's lots of seating outside and nice bar height tables along Clear Creek, which is fun for watching people kayak by. Indoors, there's more seating for cold or bad weather days. The pour your own drink system works with a plastic card linked to a debit or credit card at the check-in desk, which you put into a slot at the tap and use to pour your drink by the ounce. You can also use that card or your regular credit/debit to buy food. When you leave, you can drop the card in a box by the exits and an automatic gratuity is added. This place is a lot of fun and I enjoy going, but it is a bit pricy. The food can get fairly expensive, and the drinks as well.If you're looking for a great spot in Golden, especially for a nice day and rooftop to get drinks on, definitely check this place out.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! The wall of taps to try different beers, wines, ciders and even cocktails is so much fun! Food is excellent! I love the large variety of outdoor seating options. Definitely recommended. Dogs allowed on first floor, outside deck.

Yelp
Came into the Golden Mill after checking out Coors for lunch and to get some drinks. I will same I am a big fan of the concept. It's basically a food hall with 40 plus beers/wines/mixed drinks that you pour yourself. You also pay by ounce you you fully control how much it's going to be. Since it was lunch time we went to order food. I went with the BBQ spot and went for the 3 Meat Plate which I went with Brisket, Ribs, and Burnt Ends with Mac & Cheese and Cornbread as my side. Within about 5 minutes by food was ready. I got my BBQ sauce and went to find the rest of my party would was hunting for a table. For sure got to use teamwork when hunting for a table since they place gets a lot of people and tables go fast. I quickly got into my food since we were sitting outside and didn't want my food to get cold. First started with the Brisket and this was for sure a let down. Where most BBQ places to get to pick moist/fatty or lean Brisket you don't have an option. My brisket was dry and didn't have a lot of flavor so good thing I got some BBQ sauce cause this needed it. I then tried the the Ribs were were just OK. Not bad but nothing to write home about. I will say the meat did fall off the bone pretty easily though. I will say the Burnt Ends were the star of the show. They were so juicy and packed with flavor. No sauce needed. The sides were also pretty good too. Tasty Mac & Cheese and fresh Cornbread. I was also able to try Ashley's food. She got the South K Chicken Sandwich and Sweet Potato Fries for sure side for $18. The South K is made with Chicken Thigh which I like and fried. I will say with coleslaw and a lot of sauce this thing is messy so get plenty of napkins. It was good but for sure tough to eat. I will see if you can get the coleslaw on the side so your bun doesn't disintegrate. We then go up to get a drink I went with the Spicy Margarita since I was so full and beer would have pushed me over my limit. The Spicy Margarita was good but I wise they had and option for a regular one. Golden Mill is for sure a place to check out but take my word for it. If you get BBQ stick with the Burnt Ends and the sides.

Yelp
Pet friendly, live music, great beer, wine and cocktail selection. Staff are helpful and friendly. Lots of great food options! Great place to hangout and relax after a walk along the river.

Yelp
I like the variety of food and beer they have. Its a good place to bring the family since everyone can order the food they want to eat. A must do if you are in the area

Yelp
It's a great place with a great concept! We had the BBQ sandwich from Rolling Smoke, which was absolutely five stars. The fries, too, were incredible. The pork green chili is my fiances favorite in Colorado.

Yelp
Very interesting concept! I look forward to coming back in summer when its warm enough to sit outside. Came here on a Saturay for lunch and it was pretty packed inside. Seemed a bit expensive for everything. Especially the sodas. The food was tasty and came out so fast. I think I need to come back and give this spot another try with more people. I took off a few stars because the tables were all shaky. I was nervous the drinks were going to spill on the high tops and parking was very limited. We had to park a few blocks up. I will give this place another go in sumemer! Overall 3/5 stars

Yelp
A great for a doggie friendly hang out in CO. We drove to venture and explore Golden. This food hall is doggie friendly outside on the patio only. There was lots of available seating inside and also it's great to have seating near the Creek. It was March so they had heaters near the patio tables. We settled at a table near the creek and then went inside to order our lunch. We picked up a 3 meat plate at Rolling Smoke BBQ - Mac and cheese, baked beans, burnt ends ($1 more), brisket, and hot links. Then also ordered loaded fries from the chicken vendor next door. We also enjoyed the Happy Cones after our meal. It was a chill experience and the food was ready quickly with a text feature to let you know your meal was ready. We didn't load the Golden Mill card immediately and used our credit cards for purchases. However to order drinks we realized you're suppose to link your credit card to a Golden Mill Card then order and pay with your Golden Mill Card. All transactions are auto gratuities at 18%. To me it was a simple and easy process but I know some shared in the past that they didn't like to Golden Mill Card auto linked to your credit card. After setting up the Golden Mill Card I got a Maui Lager, light beer, using the card. Simple and easy. Place the card in the designated card area, pour your drink of Choice, then card is auto charged for your x OZ pour. We enjoyed the chill Sunday outside by the heater. The puppy enjoyed hanging with us and we would be back! As we enjoyed our meal and beer we noticed that the staff were very attentive, kind and friendly. There were staff members cleaning up tables, helping people with the self serve beverage stations, and always available for help. We even saw them fixing the ski chair immediately when they noticed the arm of the chair was broken with a nail exposed. There are lots of young kiddos and pets every where. It is pet friendly but we definitely used the experience as a training opportunity because all the other pets/dogs kept barking. So we tried to keep our puppy less reactive to all the other dogs barking.

Yelp
First time visiting and will not be the last!! We had a great time pouring or own drinks, hanging out by the fire pits and enjoying the views of North Table Mountain. You basically check in, receive a card that allows you to pour your own drinks and buy food and at the end of the night, you receive your receipt. You can opt to immediately check out when you leave so you are not wondering how much you actually spent all night. There is plenty of indoor seating and outdoor seating with fire pits. There is also a rooftop with more outdoor seating with fire pits. The golden mill has two drink pouring stations including water. They offer wine, cocktails and beer. They also have food options including BBQ, Tacos, Hot Chicken and ice cream. The food could have been a lot better, flavor wasn't the best and the food tasted old. This was brought to the managers attention and they made sure to notify the cooks and took care of us as well. We really appreciated that. 10/10 for customer service. The manager notified us that they want to be made aware of things like this so that they can improve in those areas and be better than before. Overall, we had a great experience. And a huge shout out to Maria and Leo, you both are doing an incredible job running this place and making sure everyone is satisfied! Thank you for all your hard work!

Yelp
I just happened upon this business on an afternoon walk. I'm so happy we decided to try this place out! Very cool concept. Upon entering, you get a card that you will use for all of your purchases. They sell beer, wine, and cocktails by the ounce. You get to pour yourself, so if you want you can try several drinks! They also have different food such as BBQ, Mexican, American, Ice Cream, and sushi (though that wasn't opened). Everything has tip included already. We sat on the rooftop area. There are many seating options, with outdoor heaters if necessary. The only downside was the wait time. I'd say between BBQ, Tacos, and Ice Cream we had a total wait time of an hour. Otherwise this place was so cool! I will definitely be back. I recommend trying The Golden Mill, but with expectations to have a bit of a wait in line.

Yelp
Wow! What a great place and concept After a nice hike ventured to this establishment for food and drink. Terrific outdoor seating and the fire pits an added bonus. Was able to enjoy a variety of cocktails and beer at my own pace. Enjoyed a delicious cup of pork green chili as well. The employees were on top of it as well. They were quick to pick up our empties and offer assistance. Cannot wait to possibly come back this summer. I know it is probably packed, so going this time of year was perfect and not too crowded.

Yelp
Great ambiance for a food hall on a Saturday-- I can see why people would use this place to pregame/eat before going out. I saw people of all ages on a Saturday at 3pm, including a ton of cute doggos outside. For the food: I had the 1 meat plate from rolling smoke-- and the burnt ends were awesome. The Mac n cheese was also great-- but the coleslaw was pretty unappetizing with little to no sweetness and way too much salt. Anyway since it's a small side i disregarded it when factoring it into this review. In sum I recommend the burnt ends and DO NOT recommend the coleslaw as a side. The drinks by the oz were a self-pour, and fairly cheap compared to Denver. The espresso martini was around ~1.68 per oz, so you can easily walk out with an 8 dollar martini which is fairly good. The cleaning staff were very efficient on a busy Saturday, check-in staff were very friendly, and I got my food in under 5 minutes. Overall-- definitely a good pit stop on the way back from a day in the mountains.

Yelp
I love a concept like this, one location with different food options, great views, pour your own drinks and a relaxed vibe. We walked over after a visit to the Coors factory to grab some food and drinks. It was noon on a Saturday and the weather was beautiful so needless to say it was pretty packed. We got in line to get some food, for me fried chicken and Mike BBQ, it was maybe a 10-15 minute wait in line to order and then about 5 minutes to wait on food. After some searching we found a spot upstairs on the roof over looking the river and mountains. It was packed but the view was worth it. Our food was good I got the South K chicken sandwich, it was very good just not as unique as I was hoping it would be with it having kimchee coleslaw and gochujang mayo. The sandwich was crispy and really tasted like a slightly elevated chicken sandwich the sweet potatoes I got as my side were fantastic. Mike got the three meat plate from the BBQ stall. The burnt ends were delicious but the brisket and ribs were just okay. The Mac and Cheese was actually pretty good and I'm glad we didn't sleep on the corn bread because while it didn't look amazing it did taste amazing. Everything was a bit expensive for example the chicken sandwich was $18 but the atmosphere was cool. We did snag some drinks before we left. We both chose to go for a margarita. It was pretty cool pulling a lever and dispensing the margarita. It was spicy and actually pretty good, I didn't taste much alcohol but I don't always in a spicy margarita. My favorite was that they had glasses with presalted rims for the margaritas. Paying by the oz can add up but it is terrific for trying now things!

Yelp
This place is so fun! Came with a couple old friends to catch up and get a few drinks. Sat out on the patio along the river and the views were so nice. Everyone was friendly and they had lots of good options to drink. Highly recommend the moon berries cider

Yelp
I kept seeing this place pop up when I was looking for dog friendly activities to do in Golden. There were plenty of seats indoors and outdoors. Dogs can only go on the lower patio but there's plenty of umbrellas. I ordered tater tots from the republik of chicken and the Hokey Pokey ice cream from Happy Cones. The Hokey Pokey ice cream was delicious along with the tater tots. I liked dipping my tater tots in the ice cream for a savory sweet treat. Overall this was a nice location for lunch after hiking at Clear Creek Canton nearby. Parking was confusing. It's located in a lot a block away but depending on which direction you're coming from, you may have to make a circle to get into the parking lot.

Yelp
Enjoyed our first trip to the Green Mill, as I love Golden and heard good enough things about the venue to make it a point to explore it. The only tricky part is parking. This part of Golden has few spots, but they directed to a size a block say. We luckily found an even closer space. Great vibe inside, with four or five options, and the opportunity to grab a Mill Card do place every thing on one card. Food Hall makes for a positive experience, lot of mingling and energy. Loved the outdoor terrace and balcony on a cooler night due to fireplaces and heaters. We enjoyed Happy Cones as our lone food group due to a lengthy day, and they never disappoint, as Maggie helped us with a pair of their superb products in a cup. Happy Dust prevailed also. We will come back when we as able to eat a meal and have multiple ideas about which new are the winners!

Yelp
I love food halls, so my husband and I stopped here on a quest to try all of Denver's food halls. We shared: - Gringas Quesadilla from Tacos al Chile - Orange Lion from Sushi Sora - South K from Republik of Chiken - Mac N Cheese with Brisket from Rolling Smoke BBQ - Strawberry Banana/Mixed Berry New Zealand Style with Caramel Drizzle and Happy Dust from Happy Cones This food hall is on the smaller side--we tried almost all (or maybe all) of the food stalls. The food was hit or miss for me. My favorite things were the quesadilla, sushi, and ice cream. They have really nice patio and rooftop areas outside which we enjoyed. They also have a large self pour tap selection if you want a drink.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a great spot in golden for brunch on the weekend or any time! Family friendly and also super fun for a big group celebrating or any occasion. Plenty of drinks/wine/beer on tap! Also lots of food stands including tacos, award winning sushi, ice cream, and more. You check in up front and get a card where you can determine how much wine/beer/cocktail you pour out of the tap and how much you pay depending on the pour/drink. Such a great time overall! Outside patios are a great time in the summer, but also fun in the winter because they have fire pits/covering.
google avatar

Yelp
While visiting Golden this place is definitely a must! When checking in they give you a card with your credit card information on it. First stop is where you get your drinks with a large variety of beer and some mixed drinks. You get a glass, then tap the card on your choice of beverage and you can control how much you like. It is pretty cool! I picked a glass with a salted rim for a margarita! Next stop choices of barbecue meats, burgers, chicken and tacos. I got the burnt ends you can get it alone or with sides. It was so tasty you barely needed to put anything n any sauce. Then a chicken wrap with a side of sweet potato fries. Also so good. Everything you tap with your card and you can see a running total. They will ring your phone when it's ready! We sat outside with our dog it is a huge picnic area where we were right along a river with a beautiful view! You can also sit up on the roof top! Being Memorial Day weekend we were happy to find a seat. Someone was always coming around to clean up the table. Such a chill atmosphere!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places, and one of the best places to take visitors when we have exhausted all of the fun areas in Denver! Golden is the cutest little town, and Golden Mill is nestled in the heart of it, right between main street, the Coors Factory, and the river. There are 4+ restaurants and an ice cream shop to choose from, and they have a pour your own drink wall with beer, wine, and cocktails! It can accomodate a large crowd easily! There is an indoor portion, a patio, and a rooftop patio overlooking the river. This is a great place to spend a weekend afternoon, or stop by for a beer after a hike or ski day! Can't recommend it enough!!
google avatar

Vero M.

Yelp
Well, well well what can I say? The golden mill is definitely the place to be especially on a weekend. Live bands, music, hustle and bustle of people. Everyone is just there enjoying the different restaurant and vendor options. Well mannered pets are welcome on a leash. This gives the Colorado vibe all the way. Everyone was so friendly, it's like a giant backyard cousins barbecue. You can definitely go in comfortable attire here. Absolutely love this place. I will definitely visit again.

Yelp
I'm visiting Denver from California and this place stole my heart. Everything from the view & the options of food & drinks.. there's something for everyone. 3 meat plate from the bbq joint: incredible serving for the price!!! Also the Mac & cheese was seasoned nicely. If you're with a big group, I recommended getting their nachos! The amount of drinks on tap to choose from can easily leave you spending a few hours there while enjoying the view.

Yelp
The Golden Mill was a fun experience with great rooftop views! We opted to try a poke bowl and vegetable tempura roll from Sushi Sora. I enjoyed both of them! I loved that the yuzu sauce in the poke bowl offered a kick. I would definitely go back for both of these items. Especially since the vegetable tempura had all of my favorite vegetables in the roll. It was fresh, crispy, and so tasty! Plus, the customer service was wonderful. Very patient and friendly even though they remained very busy. We also tried the mixed berry ice cream from Happy Cones! I liked that the ice cream itself was more tart than sweet and made fresh on the spot! It definitely was refreshing with all of the mixed berry flavors and lessor sweetness! A perfect treat for these hot, summer days! The Golden Mill itself is super popular. So, beware of that. We definitely had to squish past people just to get to different food stalls and with the popularity of this location, it makes for limited seating! Eventually, a table opened, but it is a very bustling spot which makes for lots of noise. I would recommend this space to groups and friends that are looking to get a quick bite and beer on tap!

Yelp
I saw this place advertised on line and I was so excited to see it. It definitely lived up to my expectations. There are few food options there but I didn't try any, however they looked great. The vibe of this place was so fun with great lighting fixtures and the rooftop patio was AMAZING. When having some drinks here, make sure to pay close attention to your pours because it can get quite spendy

Yelp
I really enjoyed the ambience and views from the rooftop patio. The market side of the restaurant and is really great and allows you to serve yourself and pick what you want. I had sushi from sushi sora and it was excellent!

Yelp
This was our first time here and wow was I blown away. Such a fun place with pretty good food! We took our families here post soccer game to celebrate only losing by 1 goal (holla!) and we were surprised to see it fully packed at 2pm- which is a great sign! With two families of four, we somehow lucked out and quickly found seating and then ventured into the food hall. First of all, the serve your own alcohol style on tap drinks was a treat. Those of you who love a good margarita but hate the sugary premade versions will not be disappointed by what they have on tap. Deliciousness. And they offer salted rim glasses to boot. Our families ordered everything from bbq, to hamburgers, to tacos from the various vendors. If you are celiac and in need of good gluten free food, everything was clearly marked for your ordering ease! No one was disappointed... but me... because my nachos came out with one lone jalapeño on top. I'm not sure if it was something I said or the confused/star struck vibe I was giving off when ordering or the fact that it was 2pm and the probably ran and and were hoping I was a gringo that hates heat and wouldn't comment on it. I in fact didn't comment on it, because I'm a chicken. But we all had a good hardy laugh over it when I sat down. (No picture as by this point post cheering at a 9yr olds soccer game I was starving and devoured them before thinking about how hilarious the pic would have been) Anyway, all that to say- highly recommend for anyone in Golden! It's close to the river for a good walk into town. Highly recommend coming before 2pm if you like jalapeños!

Yelp
Always love hitting the golden mill. It's a great spot to stop in golden. They have a nice big patio. It's usually packed on a nice day. You can bring the pups and there's a lot of picnic benches for community seating so be cool people. Pro-tip: there's a parking lot just up the hill that's free.

Yelp
Everytime we have gone to The Golden Mill it is always a 10/10 experience!! Drinks are wonderful, there is a huge tap wall that has a different drink at each tap, they have beers, cocktails & wines on tap! Each restaurant inside is different, the restaurant do change out every once in a while but everytime have always seen sushi, BBQ, chicken, ice cream & Poke! Indoor & outdoor seating, they have rooftop patio as well! Love the vibes & views! Highly recommend if you are close by Golden!!

Yelp
This spot was dope...the vibe was great, laid back we sat on the top deck the fire pits keep yah warm. We got food from Rolling Smoke BBQ in there and the collard greens and Mac n cheese were everything was great. Keith manager - walked up and asked us how everything is going really wanted to make sure we were good. We ended up meeting his brother and chatting with the both of them great people, great place...must go if your visiting Golden.

Yelp
This spot is truly my favorite of all food halls in the greater Denver/Golden area. It's a very unique concept with a whole beer wall. What's not to love? The food offerings are all so delish. The sushi spot upstairs is exceptional! I highly suggest the spicy tuna roll and the salmon roll with lemon on top! (Can't remember the name of it) During the cold months, there is multiple fire pits outside on the roof. They were even offering blankets for everyone! I can't wait to come back again soon and try more things.

Yelp
Looking for a day spot? From beer, wine, ice cream, and bbq it has a little bit of every thing! What I loved about this place is you get their swipe card to begin and you use that the entire time and drop it off when you leave. No waitress, no check out, every thing was already included when you get their card. We tried an assortment of beers, wine, and they even had margaritas on tap not to mention my favorite... espresso martinis!! It was such an easy process to scan and pour your own, it will show you how many oz you've poured and the price! So if you enjoy a variety this is your place. They have tons of seating downstairs and up stairs they have fire pits, and a riverfront view! It was fun to bounce around and sit in new places each time we needed a refill. We did not try the food although it looked so appetizing, I'll just have to go back!

Yelp
Holy crowdedness! The place was absolutely packed when we arrived on a Saturday afternoon. You have to "check in" and give them you're credit card, and in turn, you're issued a "payment" card. The entire place is self-serve. Plenty of beers on tap. They do have some cider and a sangria. All food is take out style. Order from the various vendor, pick up and take to your table. The place is expensive. $4.99 for one scoop of ice cream in a dish. Sushi was good and we saw plenty of people ordering it! I don't like how they automatically charge 18% gratuity since everything is self serve. You drop your card in the box at the end of the day. Don't lose it... wouldn't want someone else charging to your credit card! ps... great people watching place!

Yelp
This is a nice place to check out. It has a very cool vibe; people working here and customers were all chilled. Perhaps is the beer; who knows. Speaking of the beer: this is a heaven for beer drinkers cause you can just walk to the beer machines and pour yourself whatever you want. The way this place works is this: you walk in (show an ID must be 21 to drink). Give them a credit card which they would open a tab under your name and give you a sort of pre-paid card. So whatever you buy (food or drink) while you are inside would just be charged to this card. At the end you go to the front and close your check and give them the card back. I took 2 stars off cause they really dont have any decent vegan items. The veggie taco I got had to be customized to be vegan. Fries are your best options here. That said, I enjoyed drinking and watching the beautiful Colorado mountains. So I do recommend this place.

Yelp
A perfect spot after a nice hike. I love the variety of food and drink options. Huge bonus that the patio is dog friendly! Only downside is side is that it's a little pricey.

Yelp
Good place to drink. Food is ok but self serve. 18% Gratuity is added but there are no servers. Good vibe. It could be wonderful but it is just ok.

Yelp
Food is a lot better than the typical brewery/bar food. They had many options such as tacos, sandwiches, sushi, and burgers. The beer selection is good as well! LOTS of seating and very spacious with indoor and outdoor options. Only the downstairs outdoor patio is dog friendly though. A good place to come after a hike in Golden :)

Yelp
Republik of Chicken has some solid #burgers! We for the Republik #cheeseburger, which actually came our rare per our request! Not too much #cheese or #sauce, which is our biggest pet peeve. Fresh buns, clearly made local. The #tatertots were standard. The South K #chickensandwich was a different story. There was gristle in the chicken, just very fatty in parts. The ratio of #Chicken to breading was very poor. A sliver of chicken for a $17 #sandwich, are you crazy? Not to mention, chicken breading wasn't even crispy all the way through. Service was very fast and very good overall. Love the patios!

Yelp
Best spot to visit while in Golden! They have a really fun ambiance, and I love the drink tap wall. I like the beers but enjoy that they also offer wine, cocktails, and sake on tap.

Yelp
Love the Golden Mill. Very unique concept in the land of food halls and food trucks. It's a large space, basically two floors plus outside! There's a half dozen mini restaurants inside, from sushi, to BBQ, and chicken! Staff was friendly throughout, especially because I came on a really crowded night for an event. They hosted a Winter Kickoff party with ski gear and many companies. There must've been hundreds of people there and everyone was served well. Love the beer concept: they have probably over 20 taps, with all sorts of beer, wine, cocktails, margs, ciders, and NA beer! You get a scan card and pay by the ounce; you're the bartender! They have cool custom glassware. I was impressed at how many drinks and the cleanliness of the operation. I tried like 5 beers, so I Enjoyed this part the most! Grabbed a chicken sandwich from the stand- it was really good! Overall, it's a really fun place to hang out and try some new drinks!

Yelp
Another unique concept in Golden Colorado; need these in Chicago area. Indoor/outdoor venue with a not new concept of a pour card for ciders, beers, wines, and cocktail drinks. But what makes it unique is the same card can be used at a variety of restaurants in the food hall. With live music on a Friday night, two floors of ample seating and food and drinks, couldn't have been more complete. Everything is self serve or walk up and order food so no waiting around for wait staff. 18% gratuity added on so you can check out and get a receipt or just drop the card in a box and walk out.

Yelp
The Good: The views cannot be beat, plenty of seating, each vendor/worker was super helpful and nice, amazing selection of beers and the local ice cream was outstanding. The Not So Good: 18% auto charge on your card is ridiculous, especially for never having a server? How's that a thing? The food overall we meh, especially the Mexican spot. Overall: If I lived here, I'd come all the time even to just hangout with the pup for a few. The vibes could not be beat here. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Yelp
This was my first experience with a "food hall". We were here on a Friday night, arriving between 6:30 and 7:00. The place was hopping (translate that as packed) and finding seating was a bit of a challenge. We did find seats (there were 4 adults and 2 kids in our party and we ran into 2 friends who joined us) around a fire pit on the outdoor deck. Seating area worked well. You register your credit card when you arrive and get a GM-card that works on the self-serve "pour wall" aka the beer wall and at the various food vendors. You can get more than 1 gm-card on one credit card so we got separate cards for us and our kids. Beer, wine, cider and pop are all self-serve on the pour wall. There are several food vendors - one serving tacos, quesadillas, etc.; one specializing in bbq; one doing chicken and burgers; one doing sushi and one doing ice cream. My wife had chicken tenders and fries while I had a burger and fries - both from the Repubilc of Chicken. My wife's chicken tenders were very good, my burger was excellent and the fries were about the best fries I've ever had. My son and his kids had tacos and quesadillas that they said were good but not great. IMPORTANT NOTE - they automatically add an 18% service charge to everything. Pros: * my wife and I rated the food 4 stars * good variety of food choices * good selection of beers, wine and cider * cool, vibrant atmosphere Cons: * mandatory 18% service charge * entire concept is self-serve * hard to eat as a couple or group when ordering from different vendors with different service times * no dedicated parking - there is no on-site parking and we ended up in a Coors lot a couple of blocks away * hard to find seating on busy nights I think the next time I try the Golden Mill, I'll try a weeknight instead of on a Friday night or Saturday.

Yelp
Still like the concept and simplicity. Love the wide selection of beer, wine and cocktails that you control volume (i.e. how much you want to drink). Not sure about paying 18 Percent tip at the end, when I had to clean the table, pour my own drinks, wait in line to order food, go back when food is ready, go to another area to get utensils and napkins, eat, then get up to walk to beverage wall for another beer, then bus my own table so it is ready for the next person. Since you do it all, I'm not sure what the 18 percent covers, except overhead. Food is mediocre at best. Nachos were made with simple Velvetta queso with a few jalapenos and beans only if you ask. The BBQ from Rolling Smoke is sub par. Brisket came from the flat, leaner end, cut 1/8" thin, it dries out before you can eat it. Bourbon pork sausage, same thing. Dry, Dry Dry unless you slather it with BBQ sauce, which you have to pump yourself out of a plastic bottle. The baked beans are super sweet -- too much sugar for me in any meal. The sushi was surprisingly good. The chicken tenders and fries were done right.

Yelp
Sushi Sora is my absolute favorite stall. I make the drive just to eat their rolls and sashimi. They are always so pleasant and really do a fantastic job! Every Chef Special roll I've tried has been amazing. It's hard to choose a favorite. The price includes gratuity so it may seem a bit higher than anticipated. However it's all worth it. The picture shows three chef special rolls, salmon and yellowtail sashimi, and unagi nigiri. It was $99 and perfect for two of us. When I don't bring the dog, I enjoy sitting upstairs on the patio by the fire pits. Great views and relaxed atmosphere. I also love the self serve drinks. They have different options upstairs than downstairs. I just discovered the sake tap and love that it's across from Sushi Sora. The service is top notch, staff is always friendly.

Yelp
This was our first time here and we really loved this food hall concept. A few good dining options and I ended up with the chicken spot--I got the K chicken sandwich and didn't take a photo but it was really good. There was a decent selection of beers and also margaritas, cider, wine, and of course soda so there's something for everyone. The Mill has a good patio and rooftop patio space. Several people had their dogs with them outside. When I heard that you had to have a payment card linked to their own card I thought it would be annoying somehow, but it was actually very convenient and smart to do it that way. I was able to take little samples that way to see the beer I wanted a full glass of, and it skips waiting for a bartender or making a bunch of separate purchases during our time there.

Yelp
This is my favorite spot in Golden. Located by the park this spot has parking, close to the river, and plenty of room. Dog friendly and lots of indoor and outdoor seating. They have a food hall with lots of choices and drinks that you can self pour. My favorite part was although lots of beers, they also had self pour cocktails which was nice. I will definitely be back!
