"Goldener Hirsch hotel, located mid-mountain in Deer Valley, is an escape from Utah to Austria, if only for an evening. Chef Ryan Rodi recently took the helm, giving Alpine cuisine a modern update, even while the restaurant maintains its original charm. The kitchen employs hyper-local and sustainable ingredients in classic preparations like wiener schnitzel over a warm Bavarian potato salad, olive oil-poached sea bass, and a 28-day dry-aged côte de boeuf. Après is similarly elevated at a special patio pop-up all winter, in partnership with skiwear brand Perfect Moment; the decadent fondue is a must-order showstopper." - Katie Shapiro

Good food. Great fondue. In this day and age, surprising to find very limited vegetarian option (only 1 soup and some salad options). They manage to modify the pasta and the result was quite delicious. Salads were good size. Service was messed up. Drinks order was not accurate. The waitress upsold the champagne to us- we asked for 3 flutes of champagne for a toast but were told a bottle only contained 4 glasses - which was not accurate. Very pleasant staff but overall I was disappointed with the service.

Avoid this restaurant. The fondue was the worst we’ve ever tasted and the service was slow and inattentive. Food: The fondue was runny, overpowered with alcohol, and bland. I’m from Switzerland and while I don’t expect an authentic fondue in the US, this was unacceptably bad for a $65 dish at an Austrian-inspired luxury hotel. We tried to send it back but were told it was in the restaurant’s style. A premade fondue pack from Whole Foods would’ve tasted much better. Service: It took 20min to put in our orders even though we were one of the first people seated. Although our server was friendly, asking for anything throughout the meal was consistently difficult despite seeing groups of servers idly chatting together. My girlfriend’s birthday was never acknowledged once despite indicating it twice on the reservation. We tried to leave feedback privately by email but were ignored. The positives were the excellent warm bread starter, the cozy ambiance/interior, and the friendly valet parking, but those are table stakes for a 5 star hotel. Maybe their other food is good, but if you want to celebrate a special occasion or eat a decent fondue in Park City/Deer Valley, avoid this place.

We went to Goldener Hirsch for our annual work Christmas luncheon. The food and atmosphere were perfect for the occasion. My whole team enjoyed themselves.

This is an Austrian restaurant in Deer Valley.. While not all dishes are strictly from the Austrian cuisine (there are German and Swiss cuisines as well), you can enjoy some of Austria’s most famous dishes here, such as Wiener Schnitzel and Apfel Strudel (apple strudel). Besides you can have fine dining meals such as fondue, french onion soup and all different kind of beef, lamp and chicken dishes as well. As you approach the restaurant, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into an authentic Austrian establishment. The interior is cosy and inviting.. Once inside, the ambiance is delightful, the food is incredibly tasty, and the service is both high-quality and efficient.. Our waiter, Joe, was particularly experienced and professional, leaving us very satisfied. I’m sure someone as skilled as him will continue to excel in their profession.. The service here was really the best that we have ever experienced. This restaurant is top-notch in every way, worth the price, and so I highly recommend it. If you’re in the area, for skiing or just only for visiting, be sure to visit this restaurant..

We went here for a lunch and breakfast. Lunch: Weiner Schnitzel was overcooked and tasteless as a result, unfortunately. Nicoise salad was just OK. Breakfast: Inconsistent quality of cappuccino. My breakfast favorites were Eggs and Prosciutto and Benedict Croissant. Avocado toast had way too much vinegar and missed crucial flavor of avocado. Breakfast sandwiches are pretty big. Wasn't a fan of ricotta pancakes either. Service is a bit slow. Excellent cocktails made by Jesus, recommended. Great Bavarian decor.

Dining at Goldener Hirsch in Park City feels like being transported straight to a cozy Swiss cottage. The atmosphere, with its fireplaces and elegant decor, is enchanting—like stepping into an exquisite fondue restaurant in Switzerland. The experience is absolutely worth it, but there’s one important thing to note: the cheese fondue doesn’t bring enough cheese. If you love fondue like we do, be prepared. We were a group of four and had to order two servings just to feel satisfied. It’s a disappointment considering it’s one of their signature dishes. The food overall is excellent—the salmon was a standout—but the portions for the fondue are underwhelming for the price. Speaking of prices, this restaurant is very expensive. The cheese fondue is pricey, and the wine is even more so—our bottle was over $160. That said, the ambiance and quality of the food make this a unique, memorable experience. Just be prepared for the cost and keep in mind that the fondue portions could be more generous. Still, I’d recommend it for the atmosphere alone—it’s a little piece of Switzerland in Park City.

Google
What an amazing night we had. Chef Pablo Matos was the absolute rockstar of the night. And Ony gave us a great service and suggestions. It was nice to meet them. A party of 4. We had filet mignon, king salmon, and fettuccine pasta with 2 different meats. The cheese board as amazing, oysters and mussels. I can keep going 😂😂 but everything was 10/10. Definitely coming back.

Google
Really enjoyed our visit here. Very authentic Austrian ambience and the food was great. I wish they had a better German beer list is my only suggestion. I actually own a craft brewery but really want the real German thing when eating great German food The cheese pull apart bread was great and the French onion soup pared well. My wife and I split the Weiner Schnitzel and the lamb. Both were delicious and very well done. The chocolate fondue was huge. We couldn't eat it all but it was great. Really ideal to split with 3-4 people I would think. We would definitely make this a must return the next time we are in the area.

Yelp
Kliment and Natalija were wonderful. Kliment made amazing recommendations on the menu and drinks. Lamb chops are a must along with "In the clouds" cocktail. Love the environment and service overall.

Yelp
This was our first time to the Goldener Hirsch and we had an amazing experience! We ate early at the 5:00 seating and had the fondue with entrees to follow, and everything was delicious. Everything came out quickly, and the servers were all very attentive, even bringing us ski maps when they saw us trying to look at one on our phone. Highly recommend for a fun and delicious experience! We will be back!

Yelp
Dining at this restaurant was an experience highlighted by the outstanding staff. From the moment we walked in, their attentiveness and friendliness made us feel right at home. Our waiter, Lucas, deserves special mention; he was nothing short of phenomenal. The food was another star of the evening, arriving promptly and tasting delicious. However, there was one minor hiccup - the grits accompanying the chicken entree were served cold. A suggestion for improvement would be to heat the plates before serving to maintain the warmth of the dishes. On a sentimental note, my wife and I honeymooned here eleven years ago. Back then, the prices were about half what they are now, which gave us a bit of sticker shock this time around. Despite the higher costs, revisiting this place felt like coming full circle, making our return visit all the more special.

Yelp
The food was amazing. Service was impeccable. All of the staff was very friendly and professional. I had the duck and my wife had the filet mignon. For dessert we had the donuts! Don't overlook them. Atmosphere was nice. We sat in a back room. The restaurant was very full even at 8 pm. We will definitely go back!

Jasmine M.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite restaurant at the moment. The service is amazing and they go above and beyond. The found is equally delicious with something on the menu for everyone. The salmon Wellington melts in your mouth. Absolute perfection. The half chicken is our go to dish. Flavorful, light, and delicious. The hidden gem salad is my absolute favorite salad. Charcuterie board has a good assortment. The atmosphere is lovely whether you decide to sit indoors or out doors. I highly recommend the golden ale. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Deer Valley.

Mel D.

Yelp
I can't recommend this place enough. The White Bean Chili was so flavorful and comforting. Served with a delectable coin of cornbread. The ambiance was classy cozy without being pretentious. The staff were fantastic and very attentive. I can see why they would have so many regular local customers.

Anonymous A.

Yelp
Came for the fondue and ordered two pots and one of them was great although not particularly special which is what I was expecting for $70 a pot, not to mention how miniscule the portion size was. Also the consistency was awful because the other pot we had was a super watery consistency that wouldn't stick to the food. Dessert was decent and well presented but the chocolate just didn't taste great to me and was more sour than sweet. Overall was expecting much more for the price point.

Jill A.

Yelp
Not really a quick ski in ski out lunch and the prices have increased steeply but if you still want a more civilized sit down lunch over the chaos of Silver Lake Lodge cafeteria, you will be glad you added this option to your day. Remember to MAKE RESERVATIONS! Also a great spot for apres pretzels and cheese fondue

Sarah A.

Yelp
My husband and I agree, the service at Goldener Hirsch was out of this world. The servers were attentive and helpful with recommendations. They made conversation and called us by our names for the full duration of the meal. At the price point it is to be expected, but at the same time it's where other similar places fall short. We're so glad we were able to go to dinner here. The location is beautiful as well, it's in a beautiful hotel and even the walk into the restaurant provided beautiful views and friendly staff. The food was awesome, we had the roasted vegetables, French onion soup, and split the rack of lamb. While I didn't love the soup, the lamb was out of this world fantastic. Also, while a little more expensive at $160 (if I recall correctly), the portion size was huge. My husband is a big eater, so while it was great for two of us I think it could probably feed three or four as long as they aren't ravenously hungry. We will definitely be back!

Laurie G.

Yelp
The interior definitely gives off the Austrian vibe. It's traditional yet upscale and new. My food was delicious and plated in a very pleasing style. Service was great as well.

George D.

Yelp
This was not the greatest experience. We had five people and they put us on a tiny table that obviously didn't fit. We asked for a bigger table and they moved us to a slight bigger one but still cramped for five. We ordered wine and the sommelier was less than friendly and never came back which was probably a blessing in disguise. One star for him for sure. Food was good but not great. Overall disappointing experience although our waiter was a very nice young man and friendly which saved this from a two star review.

Helen H.

Yelp
TLDR: Come here for some of the best cheese fondue you will ever have. Commonly one of the top 5 restaurants to try in Deer Valley alongside restaurants like Fireside Dining and Firewood. Not quite 5 stars from me because of my underwhelming chicken holstein sandwich. The fondue split among ~3 people is already really filling by itself imo so feel free to just come for some after-skiing fondue! Cozy, Swiss-themed environment. FOOD: - [HIGHLY RECOMMEND] Goldener Hirsch Fondue (5/5): This is a must try. Seriously so good (and I don't even like cheese that much) and they give you a ton of things to dip in the cheese. Halfway through all the items I was already full after splitting with someone else. - Weiner Schnitzel (4.5/5): Great crispy schnitzel - Chicken Holstein sandwich (2.5/5): The chicken as well as the entire sandwich was a little dry. While I did like the sandwich bread, which they apparently make in-house, it was more crumbly than I would expect for a sandwich and my meal kind of fell apart. ENVIRONMENT & AMBIANCE: - Felt like being transported to a cozy Swiss cottage. The interior decoration is just like what you'd see in a Swiss-themed place (I've never been to Switzerland so I can only guess :) ) - They had a roaring fire going in the fireplace which warmed up the place nicely during lunch time - Great location in the Goldener Hirsch lodge too. Right next to the Stein Eriksen lodge. SERVICE: - Really kind servers who were patient and explained the menu well. My friend and I had to work through lunch and they were very accommodating of us sitting there with our laptops on the table. - Were really good about pacing -- fondue came first and they didn't try to bring out or other items while we still had the fondue (would have been too much all at once). They patiently waited for us to be done with our fondue and then immediately came to confirm we were ready for the next course to be brought out.

Jarrett M.

Yelp
This is the best Fondue experience in the country and I'm not sure it is even close. Quiet place, but rich in ambience. Cocktails are also amazing

Maria Eugenia C.

Yelp
Food, service and ambiance were incredible. Best Cheese Fondue ever and chocolate fondue also to die for. Loved how it was chic but down to earth.

Karen W.

Yelp
We ate at the Goldener Hirsch restaurant tonight. I hope they read this review. The service was excellent. Not too over bearing but informative. The food was delicious. We had the cheese fondue, wiener Schinzel, pumkin sage , and for dessert the chocolate fondue. All were excellent although, I know.. it is Deer Valley Park City Utah, way over priced. The main thing was the atmosphere. Good God you would think we were in a sports bar. We are paying a fricking $72 for a fondue and we have a big screen TV right above our heads playing a commercial for the Goldener Hirsch over and over. What the heck, we weren't in a blasted sports bar. What a disappointment. We asked to have the TV turned off more than once to no avail. The sound system played music way too loud for an intimate conversation. So food 4 star. Service 5 star. Atmosphere 1 star. Get it together Goldener Hirsch. Over all, considering we have eaten here several times over the years this was a disappointment. A very expensive disapointment.

Mike C.

Yelp
Overall it was okay. Way way overpriced but so is most dining in Park City Deer Valley. Food was good just not great. The price doesn't match the quality of the food. Think super high end places where price justifies the food. Again not saying food was bad. Had the veal Wiener schnitzel. It was as expected. Flavor was good and meat tender. No gravy was served. Just a wedge of lemon. Veal venison was decent. French onion soup was good. Had the fondue. Cheese was okay. The dipping items were okay. Many were marinated, soggy. Didn't taste fresh. Service was on par. No complaints. Ambiance was Bavarian style. Was good. A little noisy. Overall I will not return. Food was good enough but not at those prices. I would have expected something more along the lines of fine dining but was just another restaurant. Ho hum.

Hall H.

Yelp
What the heck is this? 200 dollars for half an ounce of caviar? Such a scam and horrible given that we have gone here for years.

John C.

Yelp
Had to make a reservation on OpenTable and hold it with a credit card as they don't mess around with no-call/no-shows. Servers were all incredible, fun and knowledgeable about all ingredients and preparation of food. Lovely ambiance and nice view of the mountains. My ultimate favorite item was the MP house salad. It had so many delectable flavors especially the grilled peaches. Can't wait to return and try the fondue and other popular items.

Doug G.

Yelp
Three of us went and none of the dinners were good. I asked the waiter if the cow cheek was fatty, and he insisted no. It was fatty. I couldn't really eat it. Just not for me. my wife's chicken dish was overly salted. My friend got the schnitzel and it was just OK at best.

Roberta P.

Yelp
The service was exceptional,...although they have so many "assistant" waiters that they kept trying to bring us the wrong orders because the other members hadn't told them that things had changed with our orders. Their prices are so expensive, even for Deer Valley, it was hard to stomach. We were being hosted so we tried to order the cheapest thing on the menu that might actually be minimally fulfilling and so the two of us, male & female, ordered the fondue without meat for $65. It was sad to say that the fondue I make is so much better...I couldn't taste the wine, kirsch, garlic, nutmeg, etc. so I had to actually order cracked pepper and salt to give it some depth. It was ok...the dippers were great but I felt like I was dipping them into just melted cheese without any enhancements. Probably won't go back.

Kate M.

Yelp
Loved our dinner and experience at this pretty restaurant. Food was simple but delicious. Our waiter Milan was the best!! Host was welcoming and great! We will return - was a fantastic evening!

Max B.

Yelp
Excellent Austrian influenced restaurant just a few steps away from the slopes at Deer Valley! The ambiance is fantastic and the service is very attentive. Their brunch menu (offered during the weekends) is a bit limited compared to their regular dinning menu, but regardless, it's worth a try! Parking can be very troublesome in that area of park city, but it is very accessible if you are walking from the nearby ski runs.

Tomas F.

Yelp
we were mountain biking at deer valley and we decided to take a break . there is no better place than Kitz Cafe to grab a coffee . Kara was amazing ! great energy and service.

Rachel R.

Yelp
Had a great time. Beautiful location. We loved both of the fondues and our server Jo.

Keela S.

Yelp
Food, service and ambiance are all top notch. Don't kid yourself and skip on the fondue!

Amanda G.

Yelp
Wow did this place surprise me! The ambiance transports you to old world Austria with beautiful furniture and decor. I was sold when I saw fondue on the menu so our table shared it as an app-it was delicious! Tip- order the pretzel to go along with it. The Red Hen Coq Au Vin was the best I've ever had. It was full of flavor and melts in your mouth. Our server John was friendly, personable and very knowledgeable. Do yourself a favor and dine here while in Park City.

Blake M.

Yelp
Nice ambience and staff. Sat a bar for a drink and togo soup. The soup came in a large bag. When I got home and took it out I was disappointed and hungry after. 18.00 for this little portion of advertised beer soup.

Edward L.

Yelp
The food was delicious. Classics like schnitzel with spaetzle. Didn't have room for fondue but I'm sure it was classic as well. The decor as well fits the mountain life even though we were in the US. Service was exemplary.

Cathy M.

Yelp
Only called them to find out their rates. Very expensive. Beautiful hotel however and now that I'm across the street from Goldener Hirsch Resort I can say that it's a great looking place.

E F.

Yelp
This restaurant evokes the true feeling of being in a European mountain resort. Everything is wooden, giving it an authentic lodge feel. They are renowned for their fondue, which you can enjoy as cheese for lunch or as a chocolate fondue for dessert. They also serve great pasta and Wiener Schnitzel.

Christine K.

Yelp
We eat often at the Goldener Hirsch. Tonite our regular waiter Robert was not working so we ate in the bar where Eric waited on us. The service was great and our filet and salmon were cooked to perfection. One area the GH needs to work on is entertainment. The TV in the bar wasn't working at all during the Utes game and the live music they have (from what I've seen) is not very good at all. They need to improve on these areas to be ready for prime time.

Mars M.

Yelp
Overpriced for what you get, including the service. We would not return or recommend this to anyone. Food was lackluster- couldn't finish any of my courses. Gets two stars for the ambiance...

Ron B.

Yelp
I've been to 3 Michelin star restraunts in Vegas this summer and this restaurant is just as good as the Michelin star restraunts I had in Vegas!

Akins M.

Yelp
The experience that my friends and I had at this restaurant was quite disappointing. I'd like to start with the steak, thought they overcooked it (my friends and I ordered medium rare and got medium well). To begin with the negatives, the "bratwurst" on the menu was no more than a glorified hotdog with no actual aspects of a true brat. Additionally, the bison pasta was maybe a 3/10 hamburger helper that the only thing bison about it was the aftertaste and was overpriced for the poor effort given. The chicken sandwich was, too no exaggeration, terrible and I would've rather bought a Chick-fil-A sandwich. Our table of 11 ordered 2 fondue units and they were good aside from the small serving sizes of the additional meats (ie. wagyu and meatballs) even though they were each above $30 for a bowl. It would have been nice for the waiter to ask us if we were on separate checks before they had taken our orders as they just split the overall total between us and no one payed their true price. Overall, I think this place needs to both have an improvement in service and quality for their prices and "fancy" aesthetic. I was deeply disappointed for this reservation I had been looking for. HEADS UP-- They add on a large party charge that isn't mentioned on the receipt so don't accidentally tip too much for this poor service that they are snaking you a charge on.

Hamp T.

Yelp
Mediocre service. Out of nearly every soft drink. Fondue was good, but so limited in quantity. I was waiting in anticipation for my main course, but I can scarcely remember more disappointment than when it arrived. My chicken and egg sandwich was devoid of flavor. I couldn't bring myself to finish it. An hour and a half wait for it to arrive and its absurd price tag makes this unacceptable.

CiCi C.

Yelp
The best meal we had in Deer Valley/Park City. Romantic and cozy. Price: 4 stars Food: 5 stars Service: 5 stars Location: the restaurant inside the Goldener Hirsch Lodge, right at Silverlake Village. Parking: covered underground parking. Restaurant will validate. But parking is free in the evenings (after slopes close). Decor/Vibe: German-Austrian ski lodge feel and decor. There's a more formal dining room in the back and the front room that is more casual and cozy. You can sit by the fireplace even. Romantic and cozy. Service: our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Drinks: full wine and beer list, mix drinks and local non-alcoholic drinks. Food : traditional German-Austrian dishes. Everything was executed to perfection, flavors are on point. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Best dishes: the peekytoe crab appetizer is fresh and tasty. The classic wienerschnitzel is huge and brings back memories of my trips to Germany and Vienna. Price: appetizers between ~$12-20. Entree $38-$52. Loved it. Will definitely the back when in DV again. But pricing is on the high end.

Benjamin B.

Yelp
A nice atmosphere, the food was a good 4/5 stars but the real winner was the service. We had Coleman as our server who couldn't have been better. He was friendly, attentive, professional, and when we had a small issue with one of the dishes he took care of it so smoothly. Great job, thank you.

Dan M.

Yelp
Incredible German cuisine, my wife took me here to celebrate my birthday, did not disappoint!

Yelp
First meal in Deer Valley! After a rocky start with seating (it's drafty by the doors), we settled into a cozy nook table with our friends for our first official dining experience on the mountain. Even though it took a while to get us situated, our server was a friendly guy who did an efficient job the rest of the night. The table started with the fondue (add lamb meatballs), which was pretty good, but certainly not better than your standard decent fare. (We *did* appreciate that they blanched the broccoli and cauliflower beforehand however. Meatballs were fine.) For dinner, the two of us split the little gems salad and the beef kavalierspitz. The salad was good, crispy with fresh-tasting greens and a nice, tangy dressing. The beef, though, was phenomenal: falling-apart tender, juicy, with an incredible sauce; sides were also amazing. Honestly, it was one of the better meat dishes that we've had in a while. For dessert, we tried three of the ice cream flavors: honey, chocolate, and the toasted oat. The scoops were *tiny* and only the honey flavor was impressive. Sadly our daughter, who is normally a well-behaved champ at restaurants, was a complete wildling tonight, so the overall experience wasn't as pleasant for us. Prices, no surprise, are ABSURD for what you get. $19 for a teensy salad and the fondue was also through the roof expensive. Our friends very generously treated us to dinner tonight, so we're rounding up to four stars because we did think that the food, ambience, and service was pretty good.

Laura G.

Yelp
I visited with my girlfriends the other night for the first time and we couldn't sing the food and service enough praises. The early evening mountain air was the perfect temperature for outdoor seating and we chatted the night away with incredible food and treasured friendship. Our server John Dorsey recommended a lovely white wine to complement our dishes and had the most friendly demeanor. He was attentive and attuned to our every need. We left feeling as though we made a new life long friend. We started off with the Goldener Hirsch four cheese fondue, this was my first experience with fondue and I loved every second of it! The flavor of the fondue was simply phenomenal. Next we had the Famers market board, this was my favorite item on the menu. I loved the variety and felt like everything was cooked to perfection to really enhance the fresh flavors of each vegetable. Afterwards we shared a watermelon and homemade feta market salad that was just outstanding. Then we were served the Soup du jour which was a heavenly gazpacho, a light and refreshing soup that I could probably eat everyday for the rest of my life. So many main dish items looked delicious that I had a difficult time choosing. I was leaning towards the house fish (fish is my favorite) and last minute decided on the lamb loin. The lamb was moist and tender. I enjoyed the zucchini hush puppies as well and felt like they complemented the lamb perfectly. My girlfriends had the chicken and allowed me a few bites. I was pleasantly shocked by the amount of flavor the chicken held. Finally we ended the evening with an Apple strudel that was simply out of this world. When Chef Dylan Brown came out to share some of the dishes you could feel his love and passion for the food he creates. He had a brilliant light when he shared where the food came from and how they chose to cook and present it. Can I give this chef and staff enough praises?! Never! Truly a beautiful experience in every way.

Wei Z.

Yelp
Pleasant surprise. Only one of three restaurants in the area. Good food and friendly waiter

suzanne s.

Yelp
This is a beautiful restaurant and a deer Valley staple hotel with a wonderful, modern, renovation-- that works. They had the good sense though to leave the restaurant alone--It still oozes its wonderful German charm. The menu is outstanding, The food was fun, And tasty and the service was phenomenal.

Jabin C.

Yelp
AMAZING! The food, drinks, service, and over all experience was awesome. We really loved it and will be back the next time we visit park city

Jon L.

Yelp
Great appetizers, including Fondue. Solid main courses and of course, schnitzel. Idyllic setting mid-mountain with great ambiance. Many great options in the areas but this is still one of my favorites.

Serena K.

Yelp
This restaurant is by far the best that we've been to. The service is top notch and the food is absolutely amazing and delicious. The price is more than worth it for the service and the quality of food you're getting. We will definitely come back again while we are here in Park City. You have to make a reservation in advance so that is highly advised

Maureen P.

Yelp
This place was so much fun! We went the night after Christmas. When I called for reservations they said they were completely booked for 5 people but we showed up when they opened at 5pm and we're able to be seated easily. GET THE CHEESE FONDUE! It's a bit pricey ($60) but the cheese was amazing and we added the lamb meatballs (additional $22) and it was easily able to serve all five of us. We then had a pretzel (skip) and the schnitzel and some pasta sort of dish with duck. The pretzel was hard. I wouldn't recommend but the schnitzel was really good but the pasta was decent. The night ended with chocolate fondue and some sort of apple pastry. The chocolate fondue is good for 2-3 people. It was nice dark chocolate and came with a nice assortment of fruits and sweet breads and cookies to dip in. And my dad liked his apple pastry with ice cream. Overall, a bit pricey (it is Deer Valley) but by far the most fun dinner we had on our ski trip.

Livia R.

Yelp
We were seated quickly. Very nice waiter. Good covid distancing. We liked the decor. We ordered 3 appetizers (Bavarian Bread, Meat and Cheese platter, and Crab Cakes). All very good. 4 of us had the wiener schnitzel. It was juicy, and the breading was good. the waiter even brought us more cranberry jam (upon request). The only picky thing about the schnitzel was that the color was a bit off, but this is probably because it wasn't fried in the "right" type of fat (what we are used to in Austria). But it was delicious. The other person in our group had lamb, which they enjoyed. One thing we were surprised is that there weren't any Austrian beers on the menu, which was a bit disappointing. We had a good night, and all left full and satisfied. Being in America, we can't expect everything to be truly Austrian. It was good for what it was.

Dexter V.

Yelp
A little pricy but worth it. The food and service warrants the price. We were skeptical of some of the reviews and the prices but let me assure you that they are false. Top notch all the way around. Only negative was a limited menu. Understandable given the Covid climate.

Tim O.

Yelp
This is a contemporary alpine restaurant in a rustic setting located at one of the best ski resorts in North America. Since this information doesn't seem to exist anywhere else, it's worth mentioning that it is fine to wear ski gear and you will be encouraged to take your boots off and put on slippers to enter the dining room. Really, a nice touch. Though the pictures scream refinement, I stupidly got into my head that this might be Deer Valley's equivalent of Aspen's Cloud Nine. For a late lunch service, the place was quiet and calm, no rowdy college kids blowing their parents' money. The food is great--the best alpine cuisine I've had stateside. However, we have to talk about prices. The fondue costs $52 (add Wagyu for $28), the Schnitzel $34, and lamb chili $22. Especially with a skier's appetite, it can be hard to justify. When you arrive with friends who are unprepared, you'll encounter a lot of backtracking regarding their willingness to try the fondue. Reminds me of dining in the Swiss Alps except it features much better service. Worth taking some extra time off the slopes to visit this restaurant, but avoid it if you think there is any chance that the prices will derail your group's enjoyment.
