The Best Restaurants In East Harlem

"If you’re looking for a neighborhood spot to catch up with friends or meet a date IRL for the first time, The Good Good has you covered. The abandoned-looking storefront is a stark contrast to the party inside, brought to you by bright orange seating, bold geometric patterns, and upbeat tunes. This sister spot to The Edge serves Caribbean-inspired food, like a coconut fish sandwich that we like for its spicy BBQ slaw, and crispy, fluffy yams with a honey peri peri glaze. It’s open late everyday, so you can stick around for some cocktails and wine if the date is going well. " - neha talreja, sonal shah, hannah albertine

11 New Black-Owned Restaurants In NYC

"One of the best date spots in East Harlem, The Good Good serves Caribbean-inspired food, like codfish fritters, and jerk-glazed mushrooms. From the same people behind The Edge, this restaurant is a party—all sexy, lamp-lit, bright orange seating—where classic cocktails and wine flow along with the conversation. For catching up with a few friends, or cozying up in a booth with a situationship that’s becoming more ship than situation, The Good Good is the kind of weeknight hang that every neighborhood needs." - neha talreja, will hartman, bryan kim, willa moore

This brunch gem was brought to me, of course, by the one and only Dom in the City—my girlfriend who I always let know when I’m in her neck of the woods. The food? Amazing. The vibes? Immaculate. The atmosphere was grown and sexy—even for brunch. You can sit at the bar (which is gorgeous, by the way), and the bartender, as you can see in the video, was a whole vibe. I had the buttermilk pancakes with caramelized brown sugar bananas and vanilla syrup—chef’s kiss. We also tried the fried chicken Benny and the Pullman French toast with a side of jerk chicken sausage. Everything was so flavorful and well-executed. We each had cocktails—mine was off-menu and I wish I remembered the name, but of course I got the photo above to help you out! And the cherry on top? It’s Black and woman-owned—we love to see it. That kind of excellence deserves all the support. I genuinely love this place. It wasn’t overpriced either—about $50 for brunch and a cocktail, which is pretty standard if you’re from Houston like me. Super easy to get to, right by the train, and reservations were a breeze to make on Resy. Highly recommend. I’ll definitely be back.

This is an awesome restaurant in Harlem, NY, and seriously, it was such a great time! Their menu options were just delightful -- something for everyone, no matter what you like or if you have dietary needs. The sauteed greens and brussel sprouts were so tasty. And the coconut fish sandwich -- huge piece of fish, perfectly topped with slaw, all on this soft, buttery bun. The branzino was cooked just right too. We even jazzed up the virgin cocktails with a little rum, and those were wonderfully delicious! Beyond the food and drinks, the whole vibe at Good Good was just it! Good energy, bumpin' music, and that seductively smooth lighting just made the atmosphere perfect. Plus, the service was on point, super attentive. It all just made for a wonderfully "good good" time! 💯

Google
Went to see this place after I found out the sister that owns the famous Edge Harlem restaurant also is also apart of this restaurant. The place is a little obscure and smaller than advertised, but it did not disappoint. From the moment you walk in, you felt the energy and liveliness plus the enthusiastic staff were warm and welcoming. The food was amazing. Though the menus could be expanded a bit more, and the bar tender is heavy handed when pouring liquor, which made the drink very unbalanced. Despite the 2 things the place was lovely and I may return before the year is up,

Google
Brunch food was good (shrimp and grits, fish sandwich, etc) but the slab of meat on the Chicken Benny is ridiculously large and quite unappetizing. Wouldn’t recommend unless you have a huge appetite. Bathroom is strangely dark.

Google
The atmosphere enjoyed clean and small and intimate. Food was decent but not filling. We started with cod fish fritters as appetizer. Two orders of shrimp and grits, pancakes with a side of pork bacon, and then the brunch sandwich and a side of scrambled eggs. Two coffee orders, and two alcoholic beverages the grand mimosa, and a rum drink. No complaints of the food being nasty. Just won’t feel full after eating. Staff was OK so nervous or like it was the first day . When they brought the food, the waitress forgot to bring the syrup and any other condiments. The bill was decent for four people. It was OK. A pretty packed place despite being tiny, but made no reservations and able to walk in.

My friends and I decided to explore Harlem one night - so happy we made the trip (from fresh meadows and midtown west)! We ordered jerk mushrooms, curried carrots, roasted yams with peri peri glaze, traditional Haitian rice (diri kole ak pwa rouj), crispy brussel sprouts, hot honey fried chicken. The flavors were delicious - some heat, some tanginess, some sweetness, and lots of fragrant spices. Leftovers heat up well. The staff are awesome, and ambience is warm, beautiful. Many thanks to our waiter that night; they helped us land on our chosen dishes 🙏🏼😁

Finally checked this place out on Juneteenth and man oh man was it special. From the cozy speakeasy vibes, to the people, the music and the food, it was all perfection. Only got appetizers and dessert but the Brussel sprouts, jerk mushrooms and codfish fritters were all memorable. I’ll definitely be back to try more!

Google
If W.E.B Dubois came to 2025, I would bring home straight to the Good Good. The Decor screams Harlem.....but not Renaissance, it's modern Harlem . The food is extremely flavorful and considering what high quality it is, reasonably priced. FYI the shrimp and grits is Southern Grandma certified. This restaurant is truly Black excellence personified

Yelp
Everything was perfect from the time we entered to the time we left. Came here with a friend and we had the Brussels sprouts, sautéed shrimp and hot honey chicken. Everything was ahhhmazing! So delicious. And the tres leches for dessert was the perfect ending to our night. Ambiance was so pretty and so chill, staff was super friendly and attentive. Great great great experience

Yelp
This place is everything everyone is saying in the reviews below. What a vibe this place has, sexy with dimmed lighting that calms the mood. Love how vegan friendly they are with the Earth section of the menu. Great knowledgeable waiter Cameron thank you. Jerk mushrooms were my favorite (this is a must order) & least fav was the grain bowl in my opinion. My coworker deeply enjoyed her fish burger, along with our drinks chefs kiss. Enjoy !!

Yelp
Sumptuous room like a page out of old Havana. The luxe surprise walking in from Park Ave could not be more enchanting. Tropical plants & thoughtful touches make this room a stunner. The brunch meal is a 10. Peppery, flavorful and best Southern eats since my trip to Savannah. Banging brunch. Ate: Codfish fritters Coconut crusted baso Eggs Grits bacon Biscuit Non alcoholic beer Total: $70 The food is dynamite, but as my beer was upcharged by $1 which I wouldn't even mention but the waitress didn't see my boyfriend's generous tip. He left a $50 at the bottom of the payment & tip was about 25% & a comment was made to him. Still food was seriously delicious.

Yelp
I love the good good . It's warm and lowkey. Food is great and a good drink menu . Not too loud and the music is right on point .

Yelp
My friend and I came here for lunch. It was an unassuming spot from the outside, but the interior was nice with a grown up, sophisticated feel. There was also a warm, cozy atmosphere. I decided to go with the Coconut Fish Sandwich, served with plantains on top of a small salad. The beer battered basa was fried to perfection, giving the fish a light, crispy exterior with delicate coconut. The fish was delightfully tender and well seasoned. Plantains were also tasty, soft, with a slight crunch, as well as just the right amount of sweetness. For dessert, my friend surprised me with Tres Leches Cake with a pink candle in it for my belated birthday. The cake was sprinkled toasted coconut and blueberries. The candle seemed to be a trick one because the flame kept reigniting. The cake was enjoyable and was moist, full of condensed milk taste. Service was pretty good. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Prices were not too bad.

Yelp
I had such a wonderful dining experience at The Good Good! Came here during BHM and was excited to try this new Black owned business. They are really intentional about the small details here. I appreciated our server asking if I'd like my coat checked -- such a small thing that makes a big difference! The food was 10/10! My favorite was the diri kole (rice and peas). I've never had rice with so much flavor before -- it was SO GOOD! The jerk mushrooms and the mixed greens were also very tasty! I opted to just try a few appetizers but the entree selections also looked great! Will definitely try this on my next visit. Overall I had such a great experience. Can't wait to come back and try some more of their options.

Yelp
Outstanding. The Good Good is going on my list of Harlem faves. My friend and I shared the conch fritters, grain bowl, and roasted yam. All were delightful, but that yam was the star for us. Looking forward to going back to try the ginger carrots, Brussels sprouts with bacon, sautéed greens, fish sandwich, burger...ok well the whole entire menu. Small but thoughtfully and tastefully appointed interior, maximizing seating space without cramping and allowing for flexibility. Service was attentive, friendly, professional. Location is not ideal but hey this is New York baby. And since it's a cocktail lounge I maybe was expecting to be wooed by an extensive bespoke cocktail menu but I saw only the standards and settled on a Margarita. My friend got an Old Fashioned. Both were delicious. Thanks for a fab dining experience, The Good Good!

Yelp
Came here a whim and it paid off in da big way. The front as in other reviews is quite unassuming but the inside has the perfect ambiance for a culinary adventure. I went with the avocado toast and added a poached egg. Delish, delish, delish. I won't go into anyone detail than that. In a few words, you just have come by and experience it for yourself. Thank me later.

Yelp
I returned for round 2: dinner with a friend! I'm happy to see another beautiful resturant in Harlem. Kudos to the staff (front and backend e.g., kitchen, etc) for making things run seamlessly. My follow up review is driven overall by the service, vibe/ambience and libations! I finally tried dinner last night and it ranged from acceptable (room for more improvement) to very satisfying! (Delicious!) I like how they broke down their dinner menu into 3 different sections: EARTH, SURF & TURF. I think my vegetarian and vegan compatriots can find a few dishes on the EARTH menu to indulge in. I started with the following: SAUTÉED SEASONAL GREENS Kale, collard greens, Swiss chard, garlic, ginger $14 FRIED SWEET PLANTAINS ripened sweet plantains, potato starch, house-made lime salt $12 JERK MUSHROOMS king oyster, portobello, sweetened coconut, jerk marinade $16 All these dishes were flavored well. I think I messed up because I started dinner with a bourbon drink on the rocks. And I think it interfered with my taste buds when trying various dishes. Knowing that now, I'll start out with a glass of water so that I can take in and appreciate all the flavors that come out of each dish. My friend order a zero proof cocktail (no alcohol). It was the Virgin Royal Hawaiian (Pineapple Juice, Orgeat, Lemon Juice, Simple Syrup). She gave it a solid 5/5! The fried sweet plantains were unique. The Jerk Mushrooms were delicious (I actually finished that dish). The Sauteed Seasonal Greens was acceptable. The only qualm was that the kale was not soft enough so it took extra amounts of bites to break it down. YMMV on that! I excitingly moved on to the TURF menu. I ordered the COCONUT FISH SANDWICH (beer battered basa, house-made tartar, bbq slaw, brioche bun) $23 My friend ordered the CODFISH FRITTERS (salted cod, onion, garlic, tomato w/ jerk lime aioli $15) The coconut fish sandwich tasted excellent: it was crunchy outside yet had a super butter soft texture, inside, when it melted against my tongue! That dish, I completely ravished it and also shared it with my friend. The Codfish fritters were excellent too. My friend enjoyed it. I could see myself requesting 2 orders of the Codfish fritters next time! Don't say I didn't warn yah! Reminder to self: the next time I have dinner with food that is super flavorful, I'm not going to start out with the libations I had. I will save the libations for after the dinner experience so it doesn't interfere with the tasting experience. Imagine wearing 5 different fragrances at the same time: the combination of them will smell good but you will not be able to appreciate the uniqueness and beautify in each separate one. Keep that in mind! And!! Calling all sugar mommas that want to take me out to dinner at The Good Good, I'm taking applications! Just kidding!! I'll keep my day job and rather stay away from pursuing the comedic field! Anyway, this will be, one of my go to locations, at times, for cocktails and small bites once I get better grasp of which dishes continue tickle my palate on the dinner menu. Consistency, in all aspects of a dining experience, generally drives a 5 star rating for me. So, I'll be back to try the Turf menu (GOOD GOOD CHEESEBURGER Pat LaFrieda ground beef, sharp white cheddar, dark loom tomato, gem lettuce, sofregit aoli, brioche bun OR HOT HONEY FRIED - buttermilk fried chicken, fatalii spiced honey, lime) and then brunch on the weekend. Service: 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Food: 4/5 (Earth & Turf menu only) Price: $$$

Yelp
We really enjoyed our brunch at the good good! I was looking for Black owned spots for my boyfriend's birthday brunch and I'm so happy I stumbled upon this place. It's Black woman owned, which makes it even better. I had a large group of 10+, and when I reached out regarding setting a reservation, the owner was super responsive and accommodating. There was no preset menu and the space held for my group was great. The spot is hidden, but the hostess is AMAZING and would watch the windows and open the door for people she figured were looking for the entrance. The hostess also called us when we were on the way to warn us that there was construction so we should take an alternative route. The service was great as well as the food. Everyone in my group gave the spot a 10/10 for service and food. The bathroom was also clean. When there was an issue, The owner came and handled things herself- great customer service and how it should be. I'd definitely come back for dinner and these owners also own the Edge Harlem, which I plan to try as well. Definitely recommend. The spot is small but mighty!

Yelp
Refined fishes with a nice ambiance. Great for a date or a nice meal with a friend. Will be back to try their other dishes!

Yelp
An NY staple. The food is absolutely DELECTABLE!! Whatever you do please get the Bronzino, Jerk Mushrooms, and ask to have the plantains extra crispy and thank me later.

Yelp
Such a great Harlem bar if you're ever in the neighborhood! The service is phenomenal - simple things like taking your belongings to a coat check! Very chic and moody ambiance - from the lighting and decor. Love their rounded booth style seating - which is greet for group or intimate date. Their cocktails were absolutely delicious and the right type of strong.

Yelp
Found this gem while looking for a place to take my partner for our date night. I was impressed by the reviews and the menu and I was not disappointed. Upon entering the restaurant, I felt like I was stepping into a speakeasy, as the windows and doors were covered with a black curtain. Inside the decor was warm, a mix between Bohemian and the 70s. As odd as that sounds, it worked! The staff was kind and welcoming and they even had a coat check, which was super helpful given the quaint size of the restaurant . My partner was impressed by our waiter's knowledge of different types of Gins and each waiter was equally attentive and helpful! Our food was delicious and the wait was minimal. No like honestly, finger licking good. I had the branzino, & mixed greens. While my partner had the hot honey fried chicken, curried carrots, and for desert we had the tres leche cake! I typically hate coconut and initially flicked them off my cake, but the flavors from the rum and coconut complimented each other so well I had to eat it all. The best tres leches I've ever had! Overall the only thing that was missing was appetizers! Full cocktail menu and delicious full plates but not the place you go for topaz. None the less I highly recommend! Perfect for a date night or to grab drinks with the girls!

Yelp
This place is cute with an intimate and cozy vibe. I was very impressed with the attention to detail when it comes to the design of the place. I loved the island vibe with the palm design on the ceiling fans and the beautiful design on the bathroom ceiling. The menu is small and is a mix of vegetables, seafood, and meat. We ordered the plantains, jerk mushrooms, and cheeseburger. The plantains were good, but some of the pieces were slightly undercooked. The jerk mushrooms were really good, just on the spicy side. The cheeseburger was the best thing we ordered. The cheeseburger was delicious! The service was friendly and attentive. The prices are on the higher end. We ended up paying $100 for one glass of wine, a beer, mushrooms, plantains, and the cheeseburger.
google avatar

Dominique N.

Yelp
The food was good, the drinks were strong, but the real stand out was the vibe! Super cute and stylish bistro setting with small booths and tables. It offers a very intimate feeling, like you are in a speakeasy with food. The food was nothing to sneeze at, either...some Haitian-influenced dishes added a nice range of flavors to enjoy. The prices are a little high for central Harlem, but the experience was very elegant and easy.

Fatou J.

Yelp
Very beautiful little lounge in an unassuming and sketchy part of East Harlem. The decor is just stunning -- I love the contrast of colors and use of real and artificial flowers and personal touches throughout the place. First time we went there was for brunch, on a late Sunday afternoon. We got there very late -- the kitchen was about to close. The service was fine -- our server was very busy cleaning up and reminded us twice the kitchen was about to close. The food was good especially the jerk mushroom omelette. The coffee was cold and gritty which is blasphemous since it was $5. The second time we went there was for dinner: we were the first ones there and got a really nice table in the back. The menu isn't divided between appetizers and mains; instead there's an Earth (mostly plants), Surf (seafood) & Turf (meats) section. They suggest ordering from each section -- we ordered the dates & brussels sprouts, the diri kole ak rice and the codfish fritters. The brussels sprouts and fritters were delicious -- both were crispy, not greasy and flavorful. The dates and bacon were a huge complement to the brussels sprouts very well. The Haitian rice (diri kole ak) was not good: it had no flavor and the rice was a bit hard.

A J.

Yelp
Great ambience and good food. A gem in Harlem. I've been here several times for dinner and now for brunch. Love the chicken snd fish sandwich. The jerk chicken sausage is well seasoned.

Yelp
Took me a minute to find this spot and so so glad i did. Do not be deterred by the location. The area is tucked away under the metro north train tracks, but I promise you are headed the right way. From outside it gives you a diner feel with the shutter blinds and a very warm light that emanates from the corner restaurant. As soon as you enter You immediately feel like you've been transported to the groovy 70s! It's an elevated and elegant 70s feel. I just love love love the decor and they did such a great job with the lighting. Let's get into the drinks. I just love anything mezcal up on here! The service is EXCELLENT. The folks who care for the food and the service are very attentive and it's not forceful at all. They really want you to feel at ease and unwind. What a gem of a place. Let's get into the FOOD!!! Alright y'all them Brussels sprouts took me the f out !!! I just cannot believe the flavors they put together, I was pleasantly surprised. We then ordered the codfish fritters. Speechless. Like why ya had to do that to us? I know the owners also own the Edge Harlem (another fave) and for some reason the fritters just hit different here, both delicious though. I'll comment on The Edge separately. It deserves all the praise. Side note I love me a family story. There's something special about a black and brown owned businesses thriving in Harlem. Anyways highly recommend for good vibes and good small bites.

Yelp
I will be the first to admit that I am wildly biased, given how much I've missed popping in to The Edge for any and all occasions while living in Central Harlem. Now that it would be a half hour walk, I have been seeking out spots on the east side and have been sorely disappointed. Until this. It's cozy, the service is excellent, and the music/general vibe is spot on. It's definitely pricier than other restaurants or bars in the neighborhood (dinner for four adults came to $300 after tax & tip), but it's worth it. The cocktails were great, and most of the food was too. We appreciated the inclusion of mocktails. The menu was a bit hard for us to decipher; it's grouped by theme rather than size. We assumed incorrectly that the more expensive items were standard entrees but they also turned out to just be dishes for sharing - eg the hot honey chicken was three large pieces, brought out with a big serving spoon. Vegetarian and vegan options are limited but solid, and some dishes can be modified to be veg-friendly (like the Brussels sprouts without bacon).

Kara S.

Yelp
Everything was great! The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food and drinks were amazing and the decor was so inviting. Don't be fooled by the outside appearance.

Yelp
The Good Good? More like the Great Great. Get the fish sandwich. It's next level. Loved the carrots and the mushrooms. It was a Friday night and two of us got the last 2 seats at the bar (no reservation) around 7pm. Ambiance was vibey with good music.

Yelp
Definitely a finalist for my meal of the year, try this restaurant on Saturday night over Halloween weekend and it was pretty busy. However, we joined the waiting list and was seated in 15 minutes. This local spot as great ambience, chilled and relaxed, decor, and lighting with wonderful service ( excellent timing from order placement to receiving your food). Absolutely we tried elicited foodgasms. My favorites were the cod fish fritters & Bronzino, which was deboned and served without the head. It was seared to perfection. I absolutely loved this dining experience, I mean, it's not every day you request to speak to the chef to congratulate him on his masterpiece. Sadly, he was too busy to receive our praises in person.

Robert G.

Yelp
Beautiful little bistro in Harlem with modern Caribbean inspired dishes. Nice cocktail list. Professional knowledgeable service.

Yelp
I love the ambiance firstly. It's feels super private, almost exclusive. I guess with it being tucked away nicely. The decor is great and my favorite spot is the bar. Food is great too. I went in one night to the coolest playlist made by the owner. Easily becoming my favorite drink spot that I can walk to within minutes. I go again and again and again. Always worth the visit.

Yelp
My eyes were bigger than my stomach, but I still had room to take in this beautiful dining experience. Let's get into it shall we: 1) The spot is QAUTE! The bar is right as you enter, creating an "everybody knows your name kind of vibe." The booth seating is spacious and cozy, and the lighting and sound design are easy on the nervous system. The restaurant is a nice size, without feeling crowed. The bathroom is clean and well lit. 2). Service is impeccable. I wish I could remember my servers name (tall guy with braided hair), but he and another guy were perfectly attentive and kind. (And not to objectify, but very good looking, ijs). 3) The food was fantastic. Got the conch fritters, and they were pillowy and well seasoned. The fried chicken was moist and crispy at the same time. The sauce was a bit to sweet for my tastes, and I wished it had a green or starch with it (I devoured it once home). I'm not a fan of coconut shreds, so the tres leches challenged me, but the cake was moist without being to weight and the icing was delicious. 5) Um...again...not wanting to #objectifythemen but there were a lot, and I mean, a lot of attractive men in the establishment and sone gorgeous women too! Good and eye candy, what more do you want in a restaurant. Perfect date night place or place to get a date night place! I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I ordered the Jerk Mushrooms and Grain Bowl both times. The food was great. I enjoyed myself on the first visit so much that I decided to follow-up for my bday. The food, ambience, atmosphere, music and service was good. The bartender was very good on the first visit, on my bday visit the bartender was not that good.

Yelp
This is a cozy, upscale restaurant with a welcoming, community vibe. I came for dinner with a friend on a Wednesday night. It was busy but I think you'd still be able to grab a table without a reservation. To drink, I started with a vodka martini, which was very smooth. I also tried the Good Good Rum Daiquiri. It was tangy and citrusy, but quite sweet. To eat, we shared a few apps. I enjoyed the jerk mushrooms. The jerk seasoning was light and not very spicy. The mushrooms had a nice, tender texture. I love the roasted yams. They were hearty with a slight crisp on the outside and a sweet sauce. The mixed green salad tasted fresh. The plantain spiced croutons made it savory and filling. Service was excellent. Definitely recommended for a date or a dinner with a small group of friends.

Yelp
I love the food the ambiance music drinks it's just a perfect spot for a night out . My appetizer was delicious o had the crab cakes my rib eye steak was cooked perfectly and it just melt in my mouth. I ordered a custom Made cocktail and told them Exactly how to do it and they nailed. My wife and I will be back

Yelp
Arrived alone without a reservation and was seated immediately at the bar where there was one seat left. I was warmly welcome by both staff and patrons, even though it was a bit tight we made room. I began with a potent and flavorful daiquiri made with dark rum. The mixologist knows how to operate: apothecary jars with demarrara sugar cubes, sliced lime, lemon, olives all meticulously handled with forceps and cleanly crafted with both substance and style. The jerked mushrooms were a nice starter - flavorful and juicy with a bit of heat at the end that may have been scotch bonnets. Next the ribeye served perfectly rare with a compliment of sautéed greens and pearl onions which at 13oz, was quite adequate. A couple IPA's, an order of french fries, and a righteous square of tres leches cakes sent me home both satiated and satisfied. Personable and professional, the place is a hidden gem just around the corner from my place. I will be back.

Yelp
The food was amazing honestly.. the honey hot chicken and jerk mushrooms stole the show. Even the fries were delicious couldn't stop eating them. One of the best places I've had in NYC so far.

Yelp
A few months ago I came with a large party and although the ambiance was relaxing and the wait staff provided excellent customer service I was not impressed by the food. Fast forward to today, met friends here and as soon as I walked in I remembered UGH I forgot I previously ate here. I decided to try something new so went with the jerk mushrooms, fries, and the good good daiquiri...I really liked the mushrooms and they def have a traditional jerk spicy kick. I thought the daiquiri was gong to be frozen or on the rocks...it's more like a tart rum punch without all the juices. My friend ordered the chicken and said flavor was really good but it was a tad overcooked.Other friend ordered the fish sandwich and she raves about the Cole slaw that come atop and the aioli; however, the fish was over battered. All in all, I love that we have a casual local restaurant in the neighborhood...stop by and let me know what you think.

Yelp
Took my recently turned 87 year old Mom for Brunch to celebrate her post birthday and Mothers Day. Mom throughly enjoyed and scarfed up the rice and grain bowl. I ordered the shrimp fritter which was delish and chicken smothered gravy just meh. Atmosphere and service was attentive and made a newcomer want to come back for dinner.

Yelp
This place is a vibe! Tucked away in a corner of East Harlem, "The Good Good" offers a warm, intimate setting with delicious food. I hosted a small gathering and was in contact with one of the owners, Justine. She was prompt in her responses and extremely helpful. Upon arriving I was greeted by the host and manager, who already knew every detail of my requests and accomodated my party. Food was delicious, although I honestly can't pick a favorite... Was it the Jerk mushrooms? The Branzino, cooked to perfection? Or the Honey Fried Chicken? A good time was had and I will definitely be returning.

Yelp
The food was delicious, perfect flavoring. The drinks were phenomenal. You can tell the bartender was an actual mixologist by the way he mixed the drinks. The ambiance was nice and relaxing. Perfect place for a date night or a night out with the girls. The service was also top notch.

Yelp
OMG Where do I start. I went here for NYE, and it's now my favorite local place. I need to go back soon, because I haven't tried the food yet, but I have heard good things.

Yelp
I'm so glad I discovered this place! So unassuming from the outside but with eclectic decor and great vibes inside. All the food is DELICIOUS! Lots of vegetarian options and yummy fish and meat options. I have to say my favorite was the Branzino and the plantain. Last but not least, the staff is awesome! Super friendly and helpful, they make great recommendations and are wonderfully accommodating. I will be back there... a lot!

Yelp
I really enjoyed the vibe of this restaurant the decor was very Afro centric which I love. They had really good music not too loud classic bar and cocktails. I enjoyed the codfish fritters. I asked the waitress if they could make me a pineapple rum drink and I was impressed the drink was perfect! I will be returning to try more with friends!

Yelp
Incredible experience. Ambiance is very warm and the staff is attentive. When inquiring about my shellfish allergy, they took such great care to make everything safe - they have a dedicated pan and set of cooking utensils that's just for shellfish. I really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts with dates and the good good cheeseburger. Honestly was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time - the patty was seasoned well, the cheese was paired perfectly, and the sofregit aioli added a refreshing undertone of umami. Will be back here on my next trip to NYC!

Yelp
Another excellent experience at The Good Good. Last night we had the burger, the grain bowl, and the fish sandwich with an extra side of fries and everything was delicious and our server, Danny, was super gracious and friendly. Can't believe we're so lucky to have such a perfect little gem so close to our home.

Yelp
Every time, the service is what makes this place great. The food is fabulous, too, but it's the wait staff that anticipate every need and thoughtfully and quickly respond to every request. I've been several times from pre-opening limited menu to the current full menu, and each entree and appetizer has a unique, satisfying blend of flavors. I didn't even get a bite of the cheeseburger as my companion ate it so fast. Cameron recommended the pan-seared branzino to me, and while unsure about eating the skin, the flavor of the seared skin and soft white fish stuffed with fermented scallion, charred cherry tomatoes, wilted chicory, and butter peri-peri sauce made for a meal I didn't even know I was craving. The lighting in the Good Good is lovely for conversation but not for pictures. The music was rhythmic but not overpowering. Eat at the bar or at a table/booth and you'll enjoy a meal you'll rave to friends about.

Yelp
Today my woman and her sister had the worst dining experience ever.. A side of jerk chicken sausage was ordered and it wasn't to their liking. Presentation & and taste missed the mark by a mile. They told an employee that just so happened to be the owner. The owner then asked the staff to grab forks and pretty much dissected the food in the dining area instead of keeping it in back of the house making them totally uncomfortable. She said "It taste fine to me", then continued to bash them furthermore ...no fine dining establishment would ever...

Yelp
The Good Good is truly the goods! We had the Greens as an app and they tasted like someone's granmother made them with the love and care you would expect Greens to be prepared with. We had the burgers as our main dish and they were absolutely juicy! The fries were even bangin! The drinks were amazing. They have this awesome bartender, Krisina, who took care of all of our needs. She was on point and highly attentive. This is the best kept secret in the city that won't be a secret for long!!!! The ambiance is perfect for starting your night with the different lighting and lively music.
