"The Goodnight shuttered in May of this year. It’s supposedly still moving forward with a downtown location on West Sixth Street, though that was supposed to open this summer." - Erin Russell

"The Goodnight, the fancy bowling alley and bar in North Shoal Creek, is closed, according to its website. The 2700 West Anderson Lane establishment noted that the weekend shutter happened “after failed attempts to find a solution with the landlord,” and pointed out that many places have opened in the area. According to a Yelp user, The Goodnight announced its closure with a notice on the door but didn’t notify people who placed advanced reservations. The Goodnight is still opening that 506 West 6th Street location in the Blueprint building in downtown Austin, which was announced in 2015. The new Goodnight will feature an updated food menu, as well as karaoke rooms, virtual reality games, and more." - Nadia Chaudhury

The food is good but it did take 30-35 mins to come out. The bar staff is polite and quick and the bowling is fun too.

Went here for a company post-holiday party and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I did not have high hopes for the food but boy was I wrong. The sliders, mac and cheese, and wood-oven fired pizza were all tasty. It was very easy to bowl and eat in the same area as there were large tables at each lane. Although the waiting time for drinks took 5-10 minutes to get a cocktail (it was late Friday afternoon, so I'm not surprised), the servers were attentive and always checked up on us every few minutes to see if we would like to order anything else. The bowling alley area is comfortably small with around 6-8 lanes. (Easily getting distracted, I noticed that after the bowling ball hits the pins, the ball is returned above ground instead of below. First time seeing that! Pretty nifty.) There is also a "game room" with a ping pong table and some outside seating in their patio area. Probably will be coming back here very soon.

I've been here twice and both times it was company sponsored events (meaning all food and drinks were free to me). So I can't speak to pricing but this place is cool. Staff was super attentive, kept things straight and got what we ordered correct every time, the bowling is fun but you have to keep your own score with a pen and paper, quite a few pool tables, ping pong tables, and shuffleboard. They have a huge bar and a table for poker. Since I think I've had about everything on the menu at this point, food can be a major hit or a slight miss. Nothing we had was terrible and some things were awesome. Would definitely go back, especially with a group of friends.

Super classy, fun place! I went here with some friends during their soft opening and all of the games were free. However, it was on a weekend, so it was a little busy and I wasn't able to play anything--but the selection was good! I'm always a fan of a place that has ping pong. The food was also great, and the drink selection was fun. The service was also very good--our waitress was very attentive.

I will say the concept at The Goodnight is brilliant. A lounge/restaurant composed of bowling, table pool, board games, and a great chill atmosphere. My favorite thing about The Goodnight is the free board games. Bring a group of friends and play your favorite games while eating/drinking. So why just three stars? I don't have any major complaints but the food is way overpriced. I can't order anything from there knowing I'm going to get poor quality food such as a flavorless pizza or cold french fries. The service is slow but attentive, and I can understand this given that people are playing games the whole night and just want to be left alone. I haven't played bowling or table pool here but I know reservations are a must. Be elite and reserve in advance.

The Goodnight is a bowling alley, billiards hall, and upscale bar rolled into one. Additionally, The entertainment is rented by the hour and is pretty reasonable during happy hour or M-Th. The food is pretty good but it's very expensive for what you get. Serving sizes are on the smaller side so it's hard to share. Their cocktail menu is solid but not inspired although the prices they charge would lead you to believe otherwise. I don't believe there's beer on tap, which is a draw back as bottles are always more expensive. Overall it's worth taking in the atmosphere and playing a variety of games (they also have shuffle board, two ping pong tables, and board games) with friends but I recommend keeping drinking on the low while enjoying revelry at the Goodnight unless you're loaded and looking to show off (happens a bit here).

I've only been here once and have been wanting to go back. The bartenders were fun and helpful. The whole concept of the restaurant, bar, hangout, etc is awesome. My friend and I enjoyed a few drinks and the Reuben fries appetizer - yum! They are said to have a pretty good brunch on Sundays and free bowling to go along with it. :) I finally made it for brunch and I was impressed by the big adult beverages they offer as well as the size of the dishes. I had a delicious crab cake eggs benedict. For the quantity of food, it's definitely not a bad deal.

The Goodnight is a great place for big groups if your having an event, birthday, etc. They have plenty of table space and tons of games if you're not the type to just want to sit around eating and drinking with a big party. While the cocktails and beer selection were both really good, the food was hit or miss for our group. But they do have a good variety of food options (and my Catfish was tasty). Maybe the best part of the design of this place is that it's segmented between the dining and games. This keeps the noise and games away from people just enjoying a drink or having dinner. We had a little confusion on how to rent out different games like ping pong and shuffleboard, but the hostess and server were patient in answering our questions and helping us figure things out. That's all you can ask for in my opinion. Great party place, give it a try.
