Wow! Delicious! As an avid hater of coffee, I must say that the coffee here was OUTSTANDING! It did not taste like coffee whatsoever. I tried two different flavors of coffee, along with a Matcha latte. First coffee - Grail Latte Contained Honey, Cardamom, and some other things I do not recall, but the overall taste infusion brought all the flavors together into a wonderful beverage combination! Never would I have thought coffee was so good - well, not just ANY coffee, but Grail Cafe coffee! Second coffee - Lavender latte Much sweeter than the Grail Latte, but also very good! Since I prefer sweeter things, I really enjoyed it, and could definitely taste the lavender profile. Third (tea) - Matcha tea with clove and some other things I do love all kinds of tea and this one did not let me down. At first, the taste of clove was strong, however after I let the tea cool down a bit (yes, I do agree tea should be drank hot), the other flavors came out and could taste the Matcha very well. Also had a hash of Red Carrots, Red Asparagus, Red cabbage, beans, and Rhubarb. Since I have never tasted red carrots nor red asparagus nor rhubarb, i decided to give it a chance. Boy was I blown away. A little sour, definitely savory, a very good combo of flavors! Along with the seasoned bread it came with.. just Wow! Definitely recommend this location for all to visit. I do live quite far, but hope to return!

Great coffee in the quaint neighborhood of Printers Row inSouth Loop. Half Cafe with steamed cream was my favorite and my wife could not keep from having a pastry with hers. The breakfast was an upscale gourmet breakfast with original flavors and spices designed by the owner/chef . The village type atmosphere and excellent customer service set this coffee house way above any other we have experienced in Chicago. We had coffee and or breakfast there daily for a week. We will return again in June and I know we will be welcomed by our first names when we enter. The owner is a charming entrepreneur. Have a great 2021 and survive the pandemic in style at the Grail Cafe! ❤️

rating 5 stars for the quiches alone! delicious, flaky, melt in mouth egg. we stopped by while visiting chicago and would definitely return. also, cappuccino was silky and my matcha iced latte was good. probably only due to pandemic but fyi that if you’re grabbing bakery goods, it’s to go. breakfast/lunch dishes are for dine in only

Local hangout for good healthy breakfast options. Service can be a little slow but the food and the ambiance makes it worth it if you’re not in a rush to go anywhere

Nice atmosphere; good tea selection, happy they have vegan options as well as a beautiful pastry case. Husband enjoyed a smoked salmon sandwich on pumpernickel.

Fabulous cafe and coffee shop. The signature latte with tumeric, ginger, and honey is delicious. Cinnamon roll has the most lovely frosting. Scone is perfect texture. Yum!

I've already been at the Grail Cafe a few times, and they've only been open since January, 2020. Delighted to dine in a place where people are talking to each other and not competing over music that is way too loud. The interior is beautiful. Someone really cared. I spoke to the co-owner Steven the first time I went to the Grail Cafe. The tag line is "where goodness can be found". He said he and his business partner really wanted the cafe to be a community-focused place; a place where people would socialize, break bread, talk about what was happening in the community, run into neighbors. My partner and I had a great salad one time and a dinner cooked in paper. The pastries are fantastic and from an area bakery. They have very creative and healthful specials. I hope people give them a chance and understand they are still getting their bearings as a new cafe and give them feedback directly. An area cafe owner was actually trolling them! Geez! Let's support this new cafe, not tear them down in their first size months of operation. Don't we want new businesses to succeed?

My mom and I came here for lunch, and I can confidently say I will be coming back. The food was so fresh and creative, along with the perfect portions to leave me satisfied and feeling clean! One of the owners, Sheldrick, came to talk to us about the menu, and he was so sweet! If you want an easy and fresh café with lots of whole foods and vegetables, this is the place to dine! They also have fun pastries and coffee.
