My partner ordered 3 cheesecake slices for us last night - salted caramel, regular cheesecake and ore cheesecake. The salted caramel wasn’t too fresh and the Oreo cheesecake was kinda ok, the Oreo itself was a bit lame so I didn’t eat that part. We left the regular cheesecake in the fridge overnight and we were both left unsatisfied. Today we took the regular cheesecake out of the fridge and realised the use by date was 5 days old. I’m horrified a restaurant with so many 5 star reviews could send an expired product. I will not be ordering from here again obviously and I would strongly urge anyone reading this not to order from here either unless you want to take the chance that they won’t send you expired food!
UPDATE: I have read the follow up comment from the owner, and sent them an email but haven't heard back. They have since deleted their response to my review, accusing me of lying essentially which is quite offensive. I try to leave positive reveiws wherever I have a positive experience, but I didn't have a positive experience here unfortunately. I appreciate it’s a small business and I wouldn't want their reputation ruined, but my review still stands. Its unfortunate because I try not to leave just negative reviews, but to also give a positive one when I have a good experience and obviously I don't want your reputation to get damaged.
We didn't know we were not ordering from your company directly. As a customer, we don't really care about the semantics, we care about the food. We don't need the other details. If you don't have an issue with Deliveroo, then that is fine but they are using your name on their app to sell your food to paying customers. It doesn't matter if Deliveroo say they don't send expired products out, of course they're going to say that!
