7 Vegetable-Forward Restaurants In Taipei

"With “innovative plant-based Thai restaurant” as its theme, The Green Room cleverly replaces the fish sauce with tomatoes, fermented for three days at room temperature to create a seasoning almost identical to the original. The tomato seasoning helps to retain the freshness of the plant-based Thai dishes, and other ingredients including a huge amount of chile, lemons and lemongrass, help maintain the sour and spicy Thai flavor, ensuring the enjoyment and satisfaction of every patron." - Michelin Guide Digital-Hong Kong Macau

Google
A fully vegan Thai restaurant. They have a big menu with plenty of options to choose from, I came with a friend, and from the menu, we took the Tom Kah soup, the green curry (which is just a tiny bit spicy but tastes great, highly recommend), a bowl of turmeric sticky rice, a pumpkin fried appetizer, also was one of my favorite dish as it comes with a sweet sauce and the pumpkin slices was delicious and crunchy. We also took the tofu slice chicken with a sweet chili sauce which was quite simple, And for dessert, we took their chocolate vegan cake. It came with a layer of chocolate cream inside and had a rich flavor of dark chocolate which I liked. The service was lovely, the restaurant is big and cozy and they have many more options to choose from.

What an honest place. The owner of the restaurant and the staff cares for our planet and for animals, which is why it’s a vegan restaurant. 3 stars for that and also for the friendly staff. Food wise there is room for improvement though. We ordered the red curry and the Tom Yum soup and the paste was too much diluted which made the dishes too watery (see pictures). This is really a pity because the dishes were full of veggies so I’m sure they didn’t dilute the broth because of reasons of austerity. Hope for the sake of the planet that they will improve this because then I’d love to come back. Go green 🤞🏽💚🌱🌏

This was a great plant based restaurant beside Daan park. They have a great menu with lots of different choices. The Thai curries are full of veggies and the Thai pasta was great too. They had some fresh justices, smoothies, and set meals too.

Only restaurant in Taiwan to boast that it serves Thai cusine, but we didn't find anything Thai about it. The most basic red curry tasted too turmericy. The sago Taro desert was really weird. If they didn't

Nice Thai food vegan restaurant! Unique decoration with warm ambiance. The crispy soy chip with Thai lemon sauce, red curry and turmeric Thai rice were impressive and awesome. Big portion with reasonable price. Credit card was allowed for consumption amount more than NT$1,000.

***a flavorsome Thai vegan food experience*** Founded by the same owner, Vivian (Miss Green restaurant), who’s a staunch supporter of protecting environmental and animals, this restaurant does not disappoint. Vivian is a descendant of northern Thai / Yunlin so you can expect the authentic vibrantly flavored sweet and sour dishes. Seatings are two open area with a more secluded cozy ambiance in the back and front part resembles a bright indoor porch with abundance of sunlight Thai Crispy Spring Roll - carrot, potato, mushroom, basil, cucumber, tomatoes wrapped in a thick skin. The thickness was actually the highlight as it gave a pleasant crunch into the vegetable goodness inside, dipped with a homemade sweet n sour sauce. the Organic Spinach Creamy Dip &house made naan - the creamy dip was absolutely amazing. It’s got a very premium Greek yogurt taste. Stinky Tofu - the strong herbal flavor from Tom yum soup base and stinky tofu was a destined match-made. Pad Thai - more like local Taiwanese flavored instead of Thai, and was a bit soaked with sauce.

Interesting taste of vegan Thai food. The food and ambiance here is homey, almost feel like eating at a local Thai family house. Really loved the pumpkin moon cake and fried bean cakes. Red Curry Tastes great as well. The turmeric rice was slightly burnt into rice crisp, not sure if it was supposed to be like that. Also not recommending the red bean purple rice dessert. It was too watery and came with very little purple rice mix. ;(
