The Grenadier - Review - Belgravia - London - The Infatuation

"The Grenadier is a Belgravia institution that started life as an officers’ mess hall in the 1700s, but is now a no-brainer for anyone with a Land Rover Discovery. There’s a faintly militaristic feel to the whole gaff, as well legal tender from all over stuck to the ceiling. Settling into a little corner for a long evening of pints with people called Jonty and Monty is very easy to do." - Jake Missing

10 Of The Most Legendary London Pubs You Should Get Pint Happy In

"Famed for: being an old officers’ mess, its traditional vibe, and being haunted. We’ve watched enough Spielberg films to know that officers’ messes tend to look like a lot of fun. You know, cards on the table, beers in hand, some young dirt-smeared ‘chappy’ discussing whether his sweetheart Betty will marry him even though he is a lowly foot soldier from Brecon. It’s a vibe. This old school Belgravia pub that’s on a little cobbled street, started life as a classic officers’ mess for soldiers who lived in the local barracks and the interiors have that moody drinking den feel that’s perfect for a bev on a winter’s night. Some say it’s haunted by a man who was killed after cheating at cards, but we’ll take a side of spooky with our cold tankards if it means we can be cheap and merry in one of London’s boujiest areas." - heidi lauth beasley

The restaurant is located next to numbers of embassies, and amazing park. The food taste itself was amazing, and the lighting and atmosphere were perfect Special thanks to Kata. The service she provided was exceptional. She tried to see what’s going on our table, asking about the food taste or needs. I strongly recommend this wonderful place to others.

Google
We went for Sunday roast and was not disappointed. The Beef Wellington did feel a bit small, but the flavor was there and the Yorkshire pudding was a pleasant surprise as well for someone who hasn't had it before. Had some of my friend's roast pork and that was cooked to perfection as well. Not dry and definitely moist. The tables there are quite small as it's a pretty tiny pub. My party of 4 fit, but I wouldn't say we all had ample space. Beer wise, all the usual suspects appear, so nothing to really write about there. This place would definitely be on my list to go to again if I make my way back to London. Definitely make reservations!

Amazing gem of a pub. Full of character and very lively. Great food, especially the Beef Wellington is superb. Tony the proprietor is very accommodating and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Google
This place feels like a hidden gem tucked away in a local neighborhood! It’s a great spot to enjoy a delicious Beef Wellington, a classic British dish. The restaurant was packed with locals, making it a great place to experience the authentic London atmosphere and culture. However, the woman who seemed to be the owner wasn’t particularly friendly, which was a bit disappointing. Still, the overall ambiance and food were excellent!

Google
We went to the Grenadier to have a beer where the INEOS Grenadier was conceived but decided to have diner which turned out to be our best dinner of our vacation. The beef Wellington was something we always wanted to try and it was perfect. Great pub character and we got to leave our mark when we left. The price we spent was based on our selection. I would not say it’s expensive.

Google
I have to say that this place is AMAZING in itself… However, the staff makes it even better. Everyone is so special, they love guests, making your gourmet experience unforgottable. Foods are incredibly delicious. The general manager always has some nice word for everybody, he was for sure born for this. The assistant manager coordinates each worker perfectly, it is so amazing to see them working together. Even when you can see that they are tired, they show the biggest intelligence I’ve ever seen. The interiour design is stunning, especially the pictures and the money on the ceiling. Had a lovely dinner there, I am suggesting everyone to go there and have a lovely dinner or drink with friends or family.

Google
For a Greene King, this is an exceptional pub. Food was amazing, such a creamy batter on the fish, and the service was great. Decent real ale selection and lovely atmosphere, set in an idyllic little lane.

Google
I went to this pub and it was truly a fantastic experience! The food was absolutely exceptional, especially the meat – tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I've never had meat this good in my life! A special thank you to Henrique, a very kind, patient, and helpful young man who assisted me in every way. He was incredibly attentive and friendly throughout the evening. I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back!

Yelp
The doorman from our hotel recommended The Grenadier for its Beef Wellington, and it did not disappoint. The pub does not disappoint. The food, drink, and clientele are top notch. The locals and regulars were friendly and jovial. We visited London in January, but if you visit in the summer or holidays the pub will probably be much busier, and if so be prepared to wait but that is ok because their pints are very good.

Yelp
A must visit in London, the very definition of English Pub. We focused on staples, like the Fish & Chips and Burger, but much more to offer. Premier beer selection for all tastes and authentic cozy decor.

Yelp
High-end pub with a middle-upper class clientele, The Grenadier has an inviting and fun atmosphere , but it's gonna cost you. And for the price , I was expecting a bit more. And the energy from the service needs to match its clientele . For appetizer , I ordered a cider beer and a scotch egg. The scotch egg had a wonderful presentation with a display of contrasting colors. Upon picking it up, the egg slid right out of the sausage and onto the floor. Needs to be fastened more securely . 3/5 Beef Wellington : expensive. Overpriced. Beef served medium rare, but fell too quickly out from its pastry casing. Roasted veggies and potatoes excellent with gravy. Would advise on another item, preferably one that is cheaper. 3/5 Sticky toffee pudding : Better ones out there across London area . The cake itself didn't appear to taste fresh. Even though it was doused in various chocolate and caramel sauces I can detect a certain dry taste. So dry, it almost tasted like it was made with a healthier wheat baking mix. 2/5 Service: i get it was busy. But I told the server I'd be ordering a couple of things, but she immediately issued the bill for the appetizer and a drink -- with the service charge applied. After ordering a second time to be served the main dish and desert , servers not only withheld my card, but when the bill came, they applied a second service charge. at least I got the second service charge removed upon protesting . Overall 3/5.

Yelp
This is the oldest pub in London and is known to be haunted. It was tough to find we winded down narrow alleyways & Mews. The bar was pretty cool & the ceiling papered in money. I ordered a duck terrine & my husband a chicken Caesar salad for lunch. Lunch was exceptional & the Grenadier is so cozy & charming.

Yelp
What an amazing experience. From the food to the local ales to the Bloody Mary my wife loved, well worth the visit! It's not easy to find, but trust the google to get you there as it takes you down a small walkway.

Yelp
One of my favorite pubs in London. I visit every time I visit. And as a fan of beef Wellington this is a sure fire place to visit if you are in the mood for the dish. They thoughtfully put together their Wellington and run a solid Sunday roast. What's also nice about this hidden gem is that it's on a quiet street and offers a pub experience without all the crazy. Staff could be friendlier but are fine. Food is tasty and vibe is nice. I will continue to visit every time I'm in London.

Yelp
Best Beef Wellington ever. The Ambiance was dark and gloomy but it is because that's because of history. Wonderful service and best Scottish Egg.
google avatar

Mony K.

Yelp
Great selection of beers and friendly bar service. The fish and chips was a good large portion and cooked to perfection. The beef Wellington was indeed yummy and proper albeit pricey. Venue felt like dining at someone's house with tables spread across multiple small rooms. Overall, an enjoyable experience and would return.

Yelp
Great local pub to grab a Proper Pint and some food. It's a small pub so you might have to wait a bit or call and get reservations.

Yelp
I met a friend of mine here upon my return from York, so I looked like the typical tourist with a big rollaway suitcase and backpack. Shouldn't have done that, as space was at a premium in this pub and it was hard to lug it around. Dark and cozy on the inside, with a nice full bar up front. Though I didn't get anything to eat, it looked like others were really enjoying their meals. I might have to come back here to eat something next time. Service was fast and friendly, too!

Yelp
A work colleague recommended The Grenadier for their Beef Wellington, and it did not disappoint. We arrived at the well hidden pub on a cute, cobblestone street, and it did not look too busy with only a couple of people outside having a drink. The minute we opened the door, we were surprised to see it packed from wall to wall with an energetic, upscale after work crowd. What a great atmosphere! The ceiling is covered with paper money from around the world. They had our reserved table right away, so we were a little sad that we had to leave the fun bar area, but we were excited to try the menu. The dining room was only a few inches away. There are only a handful of tables in the entire restaurant, and it is cozy and quaint. There is not a lot of room in this pub, but that's what makes the ambiance so great. We ordered the Scottish Eggs for the appetizer. The presentation was magnificent, and they tasted as good as they looked. The Beef Wellington was perfectly cooked, and the gravy was spectacular. The fresh cask ales were a prefect addition to a memorable night. Afterward, when we told people about our wonderful night, they kept saying, "Oh, yeah. That place is famous." Definite recommend! You can order appetizers at the bar, but i recommend getting reservations so you can enjoy the Beef Wellington.

Yelp
This is three star food in a five star venue. I hate to give the low rating, and it only applied to the restaurant part of the Grenadier. The Grenadier is a great pub. The barman are efficient and very cordial. (Try the proprietary Grenadier house bitter, it's very good if you like bitter.) If you're just going to have a pint or two or maybe three, that's a whole different experience and it can be had in the bar or on the cobblestone street outside... for a lot less money. Now, as for the restaurant, that's a different situation. It's almost like there are two separate establishments. As a couple of other reviewers have noted, the French waitress seats the first arrivals at the worst table, a tiny, very cramped table that is half inside the bar. Our elderly in-laws who were here as tourists were understandably disappointed at the postage stamp table. Although the waitress says that the other tables are reserved, they aren't. Grenadier uses open table for reservations it does not allow for individual table reservations. This is certainly not a Gastro pub, the simpler the better your choices, the better your chances of getting something edible. Go with the fish and chips or burger and chips, even though the chips are the frozen kind made out of dehydrated potato mush that is molded into pretend chips. The batter around the fish is dripping in grease, but at least you can scrape it off.. The hamburger also seems to be edible. The duck was a disappointment. When the bill arrived we quickly picked it up so that our guests didn't have the sticker shock. After spending £183 for four people, we walked out feeling as though we had a below standard meal at a table that makes McDonald's seating feel luxurious. The Grenadier has little incentive to improve the food offerings. They will have a guaranteed income from tourists no matter what they dish out. The best plan really is don't eat here at all except for crisps from the bar. The Grenadier propriety bitter is a really good one and you can enjoy the ambience from the cobblestone pavement outside and avoid the restaurant menu.

Yelp
If you need to find a proper pub head to The Grenadier. I absolutely loved the BEEF WELLINGTON, and for the table to share the ENGLISH TOFFEE SUNDAE and the STRAWBERRIES & CREAM was delightful. ENJOY!

Yelp
Fun spot once one is able to find it. Very pleasant atmosphere and both the staff and clientele made visiting Americans feel very welcome.

Yelp
First time eating here and it truly is a little gem. Although the actual pub is quite small and my party found ourselves becoming quite friendly with the table next to us due to the seating being so close, the food was amazing. We started with the burrata that was so silky and tasty with the tomatos. I ordered the beef wellington and it was very well prepared and tasty. My mother ordered the fish and chips and it was the best fish I have had. We finished the meal with a divine eton mess! Cannot wait to bring more people when they visit London.

Andrea R.

Yelp
Great spot! We popped off a sightseeing bus for lunch and made our way to here. Really interesting history of the place with its slightly spooky legend. The food was delicious as well. We had the fish+chips, beef Wellington, Caesar salad, soups, burrata, and sticky toffee pudding. Would definitely recommend

Cindy S.

Yelp
Highly recommend this place if you're in the area. The food was amazing. The vibes inside the restaurant/bar was cozy and not rowdy, really enjoyed the way its decorated inside. The service was average, nothing crazy but nothing memorable.

Yelp
Very nice restaurant next to Hyde Park! the beef Wellington is really excellent!!!.. Great staff and very good atmosphere!

Yelp
So! After running 3 miles through Kensington Park and all the other parks that are attached to it. One could work up an appetite. I actually had researched this pub before I set off on my run so I can end it and just smash. Typical British pub, old a.s., loud obnoxious Americans eating talking, best part,, it's got a history of it being haunted. Make sure you read the menu. Right... let's get to it shall we. Beef Wellington: it's my first time eating this dish. Cant find it in Detroit, and when I had it at a wedding tasting event, it was rubbish. The one here however is phenomenal. I asked the runner how most locals eat this and he said to dip it in English mustard. This beef wellington was so good, I smashed it hard, practically licked the plate. So now, I finally have a basis on what a proper beer wellington should taste like. Therefore I must fabricate this dish in my kitchen. The service was definitely very nice. I was seated right away, tables were clean, Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!

Yelp
I ordered fish and chips that were incredible and tasty!! The service was okay, nothing special. Atmosphere was great and the outside of the building was decorated beautifully! Drinks are fine.

Yelp
This is a great old pub hidden away near the embassies of Westminster. If you want to have an old traditional English pub experience than this is the one. It's hard to find because it's in parking alley behind embassy buildings. I decided to come here after visiting Westminster Abbey. The service was great here. The bartender was attentive and kind. I ordered the beef wellington as that is the popular dish to get. It's a bit pricey but ohhh so worth it! I also got truffle and parm chips as well. Everything I had was delicious. The beef wellington comes with sauteed kale which was so yummy. I would definitely come back here next time I visit London. It's one of the best meals I had while vacationing here.

Yelp
Perfect pub! Keep up the excellence! Love it more than any pub in London. As long as they keep serving landlord I'll be there!

Diana K.

Yelp
One of my favorite London West end stops. Great place to go after touring Buckingham or the Mews, short walk

Charley R.

Yelp
Place is small. But sweet. Get there early for a pint, and if dinning make a reservation! Beef Wellington is always phenomenal. I have to force myself to eat it slow and enjoy every bite. Also lots of fun history/legends imbedded in the pub. You have to go there to find out!!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice legit London pub and restaurant! We went here on a Saturday night to try some true London fare. There's a restaurant and pub side. The restaurant was completely booked - so make reservations if you want more of a dining experience. We were able to order from the pub and found a little table at the side to enjoy our snacks. We ordered scotch eggs and beef Wellington. I don't have a baseline to go off of for these dishes, but they seemed well prepared and delish to me. Although the bar was busy, the bartender was pleasant and happy to take our food orders.
google avatar

Grace N.

Yelp
ordered Beef Wellington, a pot of English breakfast (with lemon), about 35 quids (include tax + tips) Nice flaky puff pastry, not too fatty parma ham, nicely seasoned, the pate coat was nicely spread, the beef fillet was cooked to medium rare. Looks pretty, and delicious. The saute green (guess is kale) waa tasty, tasty mash potato, saute shallot, the truffle mushroom gravy was on the salty side. ** highly recommend beef wellington. ** interesting decor, look up "the ceiling", such a treasure.
google avatar

Jared L.

Yelp
The Beef Wellington is worth the wait. The best I have ever had. Nothing has come close. I am so glad I found this place on Yelp and found my way there!
google avatar

Demi R.

Yelp
It was a Friday night and we walked from Harrod's all the way to the Grenadier just to see what it's all about. Kept our fingers crossed that there would be seating and that they still served food (we got there a little before 10:00 p.m.). As if by luck, a table freed up (unbelievable for a Friday), and the server was kind enough to accommodate our order even if the kitchen was about to close in 5 minutes. Delicious Bangers and Mash and Steak and Ale Pie. The long walk was worth it and we'll definitely come back on our next trip to London!
google avatar

Kelsey L.

Yelp
The fish and chips were spot on and they have a great variety of beers on tap. The avocado cobb salad that we had to start was also wonderful and full of fresh cooked bacon and delicious chopped tomatoes. This is a great, traditional pub with lots of history that doesn't get too busy on weekdays if you're visiting and looking for that experience. While you're waiting for your food, take in the unique seeing plastered with decorated currency from patrons all over the world. If you can figure out how to put your own up there, get creative and add to the collage. Servers will provide you with a sharpie and stapler if you're interested!
google avatar

Kimo B.

Yelp
Charming Pub. Saw the review on YELP and decided to hike over here, all the way from Aldgate. I really wanted to have the famous Beef Wellington for dinner here. So far this place looks very charming and very historic looking.
google avatar

Christina V.

Yelp
Cute little local spot tucked away on a residential side street. Gorgeous classic pub look with tons of dark wood, but there's a twist: money from around the world stuck on the ceiling, with notes on each one. Even spotted a US$1 with TRUMP 2016 scrawled across. Ugh. Food was very good. We ordered fish and chips, and were astonished by the generous portion. Massive amount of cod fried to perfection (no mush!), although the fish was a bit firmer than usual. The chips in our fish and chips were excellent, some of the best I've ever had. Service was cordial but nothing crazy. Would highly recommend this place if you're in the area. It's a nice place that feels like a secret, and is definitely better than waiting in line to eat closer to the main drag.
google avatar

Kel P.

Yelp
Love a good traditional English pub. Love the environment and the setting. They use lots of random currency notes to stick on walls as wall paper, you can definitely play a game of spot the currency with your plans while having a good pint. Food was quite good but it took quite a while to come. We waited for 1hr 15 minutes before our food for 7 to come, and the day wasn't that busy. I was sooo hungry by the time food came. The only other complaint is that the beer was a bit warm. Not the 'cold' beer I prefer.

Jason S.

Yelp
A really great pub you probably wouldn't find without knowing it was there. Had an amazing Easter meal with friends while traveling for work. The Wellington is worth seeking out, and the Sticky Toffee Pudding and Eton Mess were excellent as well.
google avatar

Samantha P.

Yelp
This place is a MUST if you are visiting London. I can't say enough great things about this restaurant. It's off the beaten path and takes you away from the hustle and bustle of London tourism, which I love. The the old building's history is very interesting and if you ask the staff, they will tell you haunted ghost stories they've witnessed. The food is amazing, the beef Wellington is one of my favorite meals, and as someone who frequents London a couple times a year, I never miss the opportunity to stop by for dinner. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Marcie C.

Yelp
If you find this place, or are nearby, find this place. It's literally down a street that you think is all flats. Or it's behind an area with construction down an alley. Either way, find this place. Was here 3 times, once for drinks, once for lunch and once for afternoon eats. Beef Wellington-yummmmm. Fish n chips looked great that a friend ordered. Tomato soup hit the spot on a chilly day. Service was good on all occasions. I hear their sticky toffee pudding is excellent but sadly didn't get to try it. I'll return the next time I am in London.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent place for lunch after seeing some of the sights of London. We started with the scotch egg that my son said was one of the best he had found in the city and it was very good. We had some very flaky and tasty meat pies, with peas, carrots and crispy chips. Our party also tried the bangers and mash which were also very good. They had a nice selection of local brews and the atmosphere is very traditional. I highly recommend it. Food - 5 Stars Some of the best pub food we had on our visit. You need to try the Scotch Egg! Atmosphere 5 Stars - inside and out a traditional English Pub with a very nice feel to it. Service- 4 Stars - They met our expectations and were prompt with meal and drink service. Price - 4 Stars - Very reasonable for the area and atmosphere Note - A little tricky to find see tips!

Yelp
First night in town. Arrived at 16:00. Easy to get a table. By the time we left, they were full up at 17:30. The fish and chips and beef Wellington are delightful. Got the sticky pudding for dessert. Good espresso also. Charming atmosphere. Hope you are lucky enough to go as well

Yelp
The problem with cool little pubs in London is that if they are really good, friendly, local pubs, then they get written up on American web sites like Yelp and become filled with us Americans taking pictures of us being in local pubs drinking with local Londoners and thus are no longer really good, friendly and local. yes, that is exactly what I said in my Nags Head review. Grenadier is still a great local pub, but it's becoming more populated with picture taking tourists. I took my parents here - and yes, they took pictures. And the table next to us was another family of Americans - they were friendly enough, but had that annoying boisterous "not as good as in America" attitude that seems to annoy other people. Are we all like that and just don't realize it? The food here is good, the pints true, the service friendly, and the locals seem to enjoy the additional company. I have had some enjoyable time here in the past and couldn't pass up the opportunity to introduce my parents to "the pub at the end of the mews." They were late as it is a little difficult to find if you haven't been there before, but eventually arrived. The crowd outside on the warm night was friendly, as it usually is. I chatted witha few folks as I waited for my parents. Service that night was a little slow - the evening shift chap showed up late. other than that (and the annoying family at the next table) the rest of the evening was just fine. So I'll probably return again, as I do each trip to London. Though it won't be the little local pub that it used to be, just seems to have been added to the "places to go to experience real London" list for tourists (and yes, I am one of them).
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
Apparently the bloodies are what to quaff here. No matter, they also have a variety of real ales on draught, and what more appropriate beverage to enjoy in the epitome of an English pub than an honest-to-goodness real ale? If not for the Yelp Mobile app, we would have never 1) known that The Grenadier existed, let alone 2) how to find it. 'Tucked away' almost describes how hidden this neighbourhood gem is. I can't speak to the food, as their kitchen wasn't opening for dinner under 1830 (and we weren't about to drink for two straight hours), but I'd love to return sometime to sample the goods!
google avatar

Dan G.

Yelp
Now this is a proper pub. Small, dark, tough to find, with a lively and friendly crowd, one of the best bloody Marys, ghost stories and hidden like the Lost Ark. By the end of this latest trip I was proudly able to navigate my way to and from the pub without error. Tucked away in the mews, you'll feel like you are in a private drive. From the Hyde Park Corner underground take the fourth exit and continue straight ahead. Take the first left down the alley, next left at the gate, right into the mews and the Grenadier is straight ahead. Rumor has it that an 18th century British soldier still haunts this place. The Duke of Wellington's officers use to relax at the Grenadier and who can blame them. Many taps to choose from, good food and award winning Bloodys. There is also a Bloody Mary bar on Sunday afternoons.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
When you search for beef Wellington, this pub shows up. I was prepared to look for this place since reading the reviews of this spot being in an alley. Boy was this hard to find. It really feels like it's in a gated nice residential neighborhood. Walked around for about 30 minutes and went around streets and locked gates to finally find. You'd really need to be looking for it to actually come here. No one would ever stumble into this pub unless you lived there. Very British pub feel filled with locals. Staff aren't the friendliest possibly cause we were tourist? They had closed off their seating area for a party and bar seating was limited. We ordered: Scottish egg which came with a brown sauce and was quite tasty - 5 euro Beef Wellington - 30 euro We waited about 40 minutes for this and the staff did not try to keep us updated or check on us to see if we needed anything. When it finally came, it was way overcooked. Not even a little pink. Flavor was good and it came with kale and potato. Definitely disappointing since we came just for this. Maybe they were on a off day and only cared about the party? But I'd suggest to skip this spot if you are coming from far away. Its not worth the trouble to find this place and deal with poor service and food.

Yelp
When visiting London, I had to try a Beef Wellington. Looked this place up and made our way there. The cabbie even mentioned it was a great spot. Once we got there, it looked like alot of people were waiting for a table. We didn't have reservations so we ate in the bar, which we didn't mind. Well the food was excellent and cooked to perfection. The shalots were simply delicious. I definitely recommend this place, but make reservations in advance.
google avatar

Pedro S.

Yelp
By far the best beef wellington I've tried so far. Better than Gordon Ramsay's. The pub is really authentic and really good. Also really small so reservations are a must. The sticky toffee pudding is really good as well and is the perfect ending for the meal here.

Yelp
First time here with my wife on a quick trip. Absolutely loved this place!! Small and quaint but the beer is great and the food was fantastic. It is a total local place with people standing outside just enjoying their beers.

Yelp
My first Beef Wellington. Absolutely Delicious. Great Presentation. Little Taters, Precious : ) And Broccoli cooked just exactly Right!

Yelp
A story and a meal! I really enjoyed our dinner at this place. Walking distance from Hyde Park it's hidden behind a neighbor and embassies. The food was probably the only good food I've had in London. I ordered the Steak Pie and Mash. Hubby ordered the Beef Wellington dish. Both were cooked well and flavorful. The atmosphere is also very intriguing (in a good way). Built in the 1700s, it used to be a bar for soldiers to hang out it's said to be haunted by a young soldier who was beaten to death by his comrades when he was found cheating in a game of cards. Look up at the ceiling and see all of the foreign currencies left by guests who tried to pay off his debt! I would def come back again next time I visit London and I'm bringing friends.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in for dinner while on a trip this past January. This is a really cool old pub with money stapled to almost every inch of the ceiling. Great food and drinks-- I had the beef wellington which was perfect for a chilly winter evening. My husband had the fish and chips. Great beer and wine selection to complement the food.
google avatar

Alison M.

Yelp
I was not pleased with our experience here. Granted, it is a pub and we did arrive later in the evening, but still. Not good. I ordered a veggie burger and asked for the onion rings on it to be on the side - since they're deep fried. After waiting about 20 minutes my husband's burger came out and I got a side salad and a side order of onion rings. I asked where my veggie burger was and the guy looked all surprised. So apparently that was a screw-up. He came back about 10 minutes later and said it would be out shortly. Meanwhile, my hubs ate his burger as I told him not to wait. We were STARVING after spending all day walking around London and this is the place he wanted to eat so he chose it online based on the reviews from Yelp and the photos as well as the menu that seemed to have a few healthier choices for me. We didn't see any of that on the menu we were provided so all I could do was choose a veggie burger. When my burger finally did come out - it had been deep-fried. Which made me sad because it looked like it would've been delicious - I could see pieces of veggies inside but I broke a piece off with my fork and grease dripped out. I wanted to cry. I simply told my husband I wanted to leave immediately. We didn't say anything - paid and left - so it was about $18 for that veggie burger I waited 40 minutes for and didn't even eat. I understand it's a pub - but deep fried veggie burger?! Come on.
