We loved this place. We were there late on a Friday morning and it wasn’t very busy. They sat us immediately. The atmosphere was chill. The food was really good with some unique twists. The portions were big. I LOVED the French toast that came with my breakfast. Our server was great. Very friendly and attentive. This place looks like it would be fun at night too.

I have no complaints about the service; all staff were attentive and very friendly. Food portions were good but the food was okay. The beet fries were nice and crispy but salty at the bottom. The grey dog breakfast came with "home fries" but it was really just a few French fries cut into little pieces. The pancakes were okay. I would visit again and try something different on the menu.

Lunch was really good! The burger was perfect and my friend loved her Avocado Toast. Service was outstanding. We were there during a quiet lunch hour. My understanding is that the place gets crowded and can be a lot of fun for happy hour. Atmosphere: 4 Service:4.5 Food: 4 Value: 3.5

Nice spot in NYC for some delicious comfort breakfast. Safe place to eat since they were checking all vaccination cards before dining in. Would definitely return again for a meal. We had the French toast and breakfast croissant. Thanks again for the awesome meal!

Warm, wooden diner serving familiar classics with friendly staff. The decor is charming, a great place to meet for breakfast. We ordered the pancakes and an egg croissant. Only four stars because the food was a bit plain, even unsalted, and we felt it didn’t quite live up to the look of the place.

Great environment and a very friendly staff. Perfect food choices for every diets desire. You can indulge. You can be healthy. You can be happy and excited about things on the menu both as a meat eater or vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. The burger was delicious and my wife loved her crispy tofu Ceasar salad. Would definitely go back.

Broad menu but the chicken sandwich was not as juicy or crispy as it should have been. The spicy Caesar was excellent. Nice outdoor spots in the sunshine. Average brunch place.

Stopped in after walking around the village for a while. Place was pretty much empty since they were about an hour to closing. Service was very attentive and friendly. Food was good (I had the grilled chicken Reuben). Only real complaint was that the fries were too salty, but still edible. Would probably go back again.

We came across this place on our way to a different place and decided to come back for a late lunch (mid July) I wished I remembered our servers name she was super lovely and attentive to our table. She made a cute joke when she brought out our margs and expresso shots , "an upper and a downer." I recommend the chicken sandwich it was delicious and didn't feel super heavy. As well as the garlic shrimp. We enjoyed their happy hour margs. I will say the queso fundido is ok . Other than that I can't wait to come back next time I'm in New York.

Solid 4 stars. Nice simple selection. I had the fried chicken sandwich and it was very good. Not amazing. Others had the hash, eggs, and all were tasty. Atmosphere is nice and eclectic as you'd expect for where it is. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Bar selection could be better but solid overall. Nice place.

Tried this place a couple of times. It's a workable option if all you want is to eat on a cute West Village corner (and that corner is a nice one), but the food itself falls rather beneath my standards for a WV breakfast with WV prices. In some ways, it's closer to a basic diner--the orange juice isn't fresh-squeezed, the home fries are frozen and unseasoned (tossing on a bit of green onion doesn't count), the pre-wrapped butter was plonked directly onto the toast, and the "caramelized onions" in my latest omelet were anything but caramelized. Not even sautéed through, really. They're not *bad*, exactly, just below-average for the neighborhood, and I'd say that's why they're quite a lot easier to get into on the weekends than some other places. Service staff was exemplary, no complaints there. And perhaps some of their other menu items are better... but if you come here for breakfast, just know that it probably won't blow your hair back or anything.

This New York chain is known for their brunch offerings, but also has a great happy hour- $7 margs and mules (tasty and strong!), $6 wine, and $4 beers, along with yummy discounted bites that recently switched up (I miss the grilled cheese tomato soup dippers!). The new format lets you select 3 apps for $24, and includes things like Garlic Shrimp (delicious with the toast), and loaded tots. The happy hour deal makes this a great place for a post-work drink with coworkers, or for pregaming dinner or a night out. There is ample seating both indoors and outdoors in the nicely decorated shed. Service is a bit slow, definitely hard to get ahold of a server if you're outside. But regardless the cheap drinks and bites still make this place worth it IMO! I've also been to Grey Dog for brunch and had their breakfast croissant egg and cheese (which was fine), and a beautiful matcha rose latte. There was also a pretty steep wait for brunch. Between brunch and happy hour, I would definitely recommend happy hour. There are plenty of better brunch places with equal or shorter wait times.

Grabbed breakfast here with a friend the other day and had a great experience. We had delicious vanilla lattes and I loved their gluten free pancakes with chicken option! The restaurant also has a very unique, eclectic vibe. We were seated right away and food/drink was provided quickly!

We are out of town visiting and this place was a recommendation from the hotel for brunch, and everyone in our party loved the food. Everything was seasoned really well and the portions were a perfect size. Our server was really friendly, the drinks and food came out fast. We were tucked in the back of the restaurant which was nice at first until they put a party of 7 at a table that comfortably only for 5.

I admittedly do not have my black belt in restaurant etiquette, but being directly asked to leave after 2 hours at the table just felt kind of wrong to me. I was here with 3 coworkers on a Sunday for brunch, and we were in the midst of an all-time gossip/vent session when our waitress came up and said she needed the table. We were just sitting there chopping it up for like 30 minutes after the corpses of our shared Chocolate Chip Pancakes and my Mediterranean Bowl got cleared from the table and I could see the waitress trying to get us out of there with her eyes ahahaha. 2 hours is a lot so I do get it, but at the same time I don't get it. Part of what I'm paying for is the time to enjoy sitting there, letting my food settle and talking to whoever I'm eating with, not looking up at the clock to see how much longer I have until I need to leave. I don't know, I'm always open to constructive criticism. I'm not letting it reflect in the rating because I normally don't sit at a place for 2 hours. Outside of asked-to-leave-the-table gate, this place is delightful. A warm and cozy vibe that one could expect in Southwest Michigan, or "Swishigan" as the locals call it. A classic American brunch spot with huge portions and solid pancakes which is honestly harder to come by in NYC than you'd think. Really makes you wonder........ My big homie showed up late and teetering that ever-so-fine line of being hungover/still drunk, so the Bloody Mary cured him. He was drinking that thing like it was water ahahaha. He also had a fit on that you would never catch him in at work... Corduroy pants?!?! Okay we see you big homie... I had a reservation at 2:30 pm on a Saturday but knew I was going to be late and called them ahead of time. You can't be seated unless your entire party is there. My party didn't come until 2:45 and it was fine! This place is a lot smaller than I thought. There's one single stall bathroom. We ordered: - Mexican bowl: this looked really good! - Crispy chicken bowl: you have to really mix it because the quinoa is on the bottom. Decent amount of chicken and spinach (I felt like it was a good ratio of everything) - Pasta bowl - Margarita - Bellini: it came with a pretty flower and it was good too - Vanilla latte: not that strong and not that flavorful - fried artichokes: these were really good! Service was kind of slow but it was fine and we were never rushed. Every table seemed to be full when we arrived but it cleared up as time went on (given it was 4 pm).

I stopped by The Grey Dog on a Friday afternoon for a late lunch. Service is really quick and the staff is really friendly. I ordered the croissant, egg, and cheese sandwich which comes with your choice of home fries, fries or sweet potato fries. The fries were fresh which I enjoyed. The egg and cheese croissant was a 7.5/10. It needed a bit of salt and pepper. You do get to choose different cheeses. I also ordered a lemonade that was pretty good as well. The location is really laid back with a mixed crowd! Babies were there and groups of friends. Very warm and inviting and casual.

Great pit stop in west villlage to fill up on delicious sandwiches and refuel on coffee! Warm and cozy vibe that isn't too cramped with nice menu selection that isn't overwhelming nor scarce, I had a nice lunch while waiting for my passport appointment nearby. Service was prompt and warm, and my refillable coffee was changed quickly for a hot one upon request. The short rib sandwich was sizable and delicious in its soft and flaky bun. Meat was slightly dry but they gave au jus for dip and there was this sauce that compensated - I should've asked for a side of sauce as it was slightly light on sauce. I substituted fries first sweet potato fries and they were very enjoyable though it was a lot for one person to be able to finish. I wasn't rushed although it did get busy around 11:30am. It is still a small spot so I wouldn't recommend coming to get work done during lunch hour as it almost filled up. Looks to be a great spot for getting work done on off-peak hours though with at least 2 corner sittings and free wi-fi (registration required). Highly recommended.

Delicious food for a good price. I came in for breakfast with my boyfriend and they have a great selection. I've been here for lunch as well and it's delicious, classic American food.

3 hungry girls walked in on a Saturday morning, and we got some excellent brunch + great coffee and pretty good service. We were seated outside immediately and honestly loved everything we had. Probably make a reservation if you are going at a peak time. The food is delicious (and reasonably priced considering the location)!

Stumbled upon this vibrant spot while headed back to my hotel . Food , service and ambiance were fantastic! Their music selection had me dancing in my seat . Definitely adding to my list for the next time I'm in NYC. Staff were friendly and chill

This is one of my favorite brunch place! All foods are good but my favorite is the grey dog breakfast! You can choose either pancake or French toast, then you can choose your protein (sausage, bacon or avocado) and then you can choose your side (fries or salad). Today, I went and the food was good as always, the server was also nice but had little problem with payment. If you download grey dog app, you need to be careful. You can earn points but if you link your card, when server scan your app barcode, it automatically pays with your linked card. I wanted to use my reward balance, then split the rest with my friend, however, it just paid with my linked card. The server refunded the payment for me but I need to wait 3 business days for the refund. So make sure to check with your server when you want to use your reward.

Decent brunch but not rlly something standout or special. 1. They kinda got my order wrong - asked for over medium eggs and these were almost raw. Asked for French fries on a separate plate and got potatoes on the same plate 2. French toast was quite good - fluffy but structured. Loved the fruity, berry citrus syrup!! Portion size to price ratio was decent. Don't think I'd come back and also wouldn't rlly recommend.

Patio dining is a vibe in the summer and I loved our servers, but the Crispy Chicken Bowl was a bit underwhelming. All three of us ordered it, since the menu description sounded so appealing and it came highly recommended by our server. However, I don't think any of us were particularly fond of it because it lacked flavor- there was no sauce served on the side or even mixed in to the bowl. I'm not the type of person to want excessive amounts of dressing on a salad, but I found myself pouring cholula on a salad that should not have cholula just so I could taste something. That being said, the bowl looks absolutely beautiful, portions were generous, and I definitely got my nutrient fix for the day. I'd love to come back because the fried artichoke appetizer we ordered was delicious!

Unassuming spot in the village. Laid back, almost tropical vibes, with dark wood and friendly service. A few outdoor tables too! I had the seared salmon sandwich on ciabatta with avocado crema, citrus aioli, and perfect thick cut bacon. Extremely tasty! The fries were the average shoestring fries, but fine! They have several sandwich options, including a fancy BLT, a delicious looking club, grilled cheese, short rib, cheesesteak, burgers, shrimp options, and fish tacos. They also have a lot of sexy salad options and several vegan entrees. They have a large appetizer menu with plenty of alluring small bites. They also serve breakfast all day. I had a few of the drinks--one off the menu, recommended by the bartender, and a couple more of the menu. They have a fun, colorful booze menu. Lots of herbs, fruits. They have their own takes on margaritas, fizzes, Palomas, the jungle bird, and more. All very light and refreshing and not too sweet. And reasonable prices for sure! Service was attentive and helpful, laid back and cool! This might be one of my new casual spots to hang out in while in the village!

A NYC staple. Great brunch and even late bites. Friendly vibes and plenty to choose from. The Bloody Mary is a must for the weekend. Waits get be a bit long during popular times so make a reservation if you're on a time crunch! There are a number of locations to choose from too.

We went here for brunch prior to going to the Strand Bookstore and so glad we stumbled upon it. The vibe is amazing!!! And being from Michigan ourselves, we appreciated the nod to Michigan. Service was great- our server was friendly and helpful. And the food was on point. We got the short rib hash and the breakfast sandwich with hashbrowns. The hash had the perfect amount of spice and was the perfect portion. The sandwich was huge with a delightfully flaky croissant. Someplace I would definitely go to again.

My sister and I were just walking around the area and this was along the way to the Friend's Apartment. It is a small corner cafe, it has a very hip feel. Everyone who was working there was so patient and nice. The guy behind the counter was able to recommend some popular drinks. He said the Oat Milk Chai Latte was really good. My sister got the hot version and I love a cold drink any time of the day so I got the iced oat milk chai latte. I don't usually go for a chai but this was absolutely amazing. It was the right sweetness for me, not overly sweet but sweet! It had all the nice spice taste that chai has. I definitely would come back when I visit! Loved it!

I found The Grey Dog from TikTok after seeing the most beautifully plated brunch. The interior had such a New York feel and the tables were adorable. The brunch was good, it met my expectations. I ordered the vegan burrito with eggs and the server was accommodating. The burrito was a bit dry, but the hot sauce on the table helped. Overall, a solid choice for brunch. One perk is that they do have a cute board game section free of charge. My friends and I enjoyed a game of scrabble while sipping on our coffees.

One of my most favorite brunch spots ever in the WV and place I always think about when I'm in the area. Staff is friendly and the ambience is cute and quaint. Dogs everywhere (1 star just for that) and the food is delicious. The service itself is a bit slow, but it is a busy establishment so it's understandable. I'd highly recommend making a reservation especially on the weekends. I have yet to try everything on the menu but best believe I will!

The place is great to grab brunch type food with your friend. I hear the table next to us say the WiFi is great, she was having a video call. So this will be a nice place as a potential working spot. The food is good, nothing amazing but everything was great. The service was very quick.

With how crowded this place is, you'd think it was a good restaurant. There might be some tasty options but the Grey Dog chain is designed to grab as much of your money as possible while providing very basic plates, such as a terrible burger.

Not to be confused by Grey's Papaya or Papaya Dog, though this should be a NY staple as those are, The Grey Dog is absolutely delicious! I can't comment on the decor or atmosphere because we ordered lunch for delivery, but I would not pass them without another visit if I'm in the area again. It was so hard to pass up something unhealthy, as my coworkers did not -definitely trying the BLAT and or the fried chicken sammy next time. I had their spicy kale salad caesar with shrimp, and a side of black bean soup (it's winter, don't judge). LOVED it all. Rinse and repeat next time i'm in SoHo.

Old happy hour: 3-7, $4 beer, $7 margarita or hibiscus mule, $8 apps New (and according them on social media, very excitedly) happy hour: 4-6:30, $8 margarita, no hibiscus mule, and $9 apps. Making yourself the unique one brings in sales, not by ruining your deals, coincidentally the same day college kids move back in. You will swiftly lose your loyal customer base with business practices like this. Everyone has a cheap margarita, and your one of a kind mule was what I, and countless people I have recommended to your restaurant were enjoying, and was on every table whenever I visited. Such a shame there is no unique reason to attend this place anymore after years and hundreds of dollars of payments to here. Price gouge, and you'll lose way more than you'll gain. This isn't the middle of nowhere, people have better choices right next to you to spend their money elsewhere.

Came here for a casual brunch feeling deceased from the night before. Service was a bit slow despite it not being very busy at 3pm on a Sunday but the food provided us with comforting classic brunch items with slight unique twists that made it stand out from a typical diner. I got the grey dog breakfast with chorizo and I found the quality of the chorizo and the potatoes to be very satisfying. I'm not the biggest pancake person but the fried chicken & Johnny cakes came with a slightly spiced syrup that I felt really complemented the savory and sweet combination well. By the end of the meal we were very full and content

Stopped in for happy hour while we waiting for a table across the street at Emily's and the happy hour wasn't so happy. Their drinks are super watery and have a weird taste, the service was kinda slow (although the server was so nice and sweet) I'm unsure what their food is like but with our drinks being so bad (and we tried quite a few hoping one would be good) I doubt we'll ever find out. Maybe they were having an off day?

Went on Sunday for lunch. We got seated right away and our server came to check in us super fast with water. We got to sit outside which was super nice as they have fans and it's not loud at all. The ambiance was nice and relaxed. We ordered the avocado toast with egg the French toast with egg absolutely great. They charge you for refills on sodas, it was great our server warned us but that's the reason why I'm not giving a 5-stars. They shouldn't charge for refills :( Other than that, this place has great food and service.

Solid spot for brunch in a cozy and homey restaurant. The grey dog breakfast is bigger in portion than I expected. I appreciated the pillowy French toast with the flavored butter on top. Sausage, sweet potatoes fries were standard but I wouldn't order the fried egg again. Overall it's a nice spot, we really liked the decor: loved the dog themed decorations and the poster on the wall with the names of long-time employees. However, the food is not super special and it can be hard to get the server's attention during peak hours.

Really liked my breakfast and will definitely coming back to this cute spot! I got the grey dog's breakfast and loved it. The pancakes were so good and I enjoyed the eggs and potatoes it came with. Also liked that you could get avocado instead of meat. My friend got pancakes and she really liked them too. I look forward in coming back here and trying other things too!

Came here on a Friday for dinner around 7pm. The place was busy but we got a table for 2 almost immediately. The table and seats were a bit on the small side for me, I felt like I didn't have much space, but that didn't bother me too much. I ordered the grey dog club (with roasted chicken, thick cut bacon, cheddar, tomato, greens, honey mustard, & herb mayo), it came with fries. I thought the sandwich was okay, chicken was a bit on the dry side. The sandwich was big though and they gave a large amount of fries so i was definitely full! My friend ordered a Pistachio & avocado salad, she thought it tasted good but was disappointed by how small the plate was since it was almost $17. I would come back again and try other things on the menu, because the service was great. The staff were all attentive and friendly. It just felt very welcoming to eat there .

Good for a last minute walk-in if you're in the area but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to come here since the food is nothing special. I got the Vegan Breakfast Burrito and Chocolate Chip Pancakes. The burrito was flavorful but unfortunately the pancakes tasted very artificial. Service was quick!

This ended up being my favorite spot in West Village when we visited. Our server, Phoenix, and the bartender saw my Eras tour shirt and we chatted about our favorite TS songs and how bad the Ice Spice mix was. Phoenix was a joy to have as our server. Good food but not memorable, cute little outdoor seating, overall a super positive experience primary because of the staff.

This was our first brunch on my past trip to NYC and it was a great start to our trip! This place is super cute and homey, albeit pretty small. Despite being pretty crowded, we were seated immediately and waited on pretty quickly. We both ordered the Grey Dog breakfast, which came with bacon or sausage, eggs, french toast or pancakes, and potatoes. The amount of food you get for the price ($16) is actually pretty good! We also both got lattes, which were also pretty good! Overall, a good experience and would recommend to anyone looking for a quick brunch.

It has been quite a while since I have been to The Grey Dog. My go to was their Union Square spot. I always had a great experience here, but for some reason, I never thought to try any of their other locations. When a friend suggested meeting up at this spot, I was all for it! I heard things have changed a bit and I couldn't wait to see what they were up too. As I walked into the joint, I couldn't help but smile. The vibe was super chill and had such a relaxed ambiance. Upon walking in I noticed a counter to the right and tables set up to the left. It was a pretty decent crowd for a Friday afternoon and I felt like people were here to kick start their weekend. Especially because not only does The Grey Dog serve just coffee, but now they have wine, beer and spirits. What really caught my eye was the frozen drink machines perched on the counter. I love nothing more than a frozen drink in the summer. And when I saw my friend already sipping a frozé, I knew exactly what my order would be. Our drinks came in super cute classes with a couple of blueberries and strawberries on top. The drink itself was very refreshing and a perfect way to begin the evening. While sipping on my drink, I couldn't help but look over the menu. I was tempted to grab something to nibble on but refrained since I was going out to eat shortly after. I am very much looking forward to trying some of their food items very soon!

This was an amazing experience. The service was impeccable and the food was beyond delicious. So many flavors, options, and just really good food. Management was very kind and the servers were attentive! Would highly recommend a visit here.

I really wanted to like this place, it's always crowded and had high expectations for it based on other Yelp reviews. Maybe I just went on a bad day but the service was terrible, had to hunt down a waitress to take my order and it took forever to come out. Food was mediocre, ordered the grey dog breakfast platter which comes with french toast or pancakes, eggs any way, bacon or sausage and home fries. The plate was massive but the food was underwhelming. French toast wasn't cooked enough, home fries were soggy and lacked seasoning. Great music and fun for a weekend brunch though. Latte was also decent.

The best happy hour in the city (not joking). Can't even explain why, but if you're reading this you need to grab your friends and hit up The Grey Dog HH for some food and drank. You won't regret it. Also, shout out to the employees - they were all so nice.

This is a great and affordable lunch spot with decent food and super nice employees. Like unusually nice. The girl working was one of the sweetest people I've ever come across and the brief interaction I had with her made my entire day when I went to pick up my order. Is the food the best you've ever had? No, but it's totally respectable for the price you pay. For $13.50 you get a very good cheeseburger with fries or a salad that I personally think is the best sub-$20 deal in New York. The bun is delicious and the fries are unreal. Thin and crispy with the perfect level of salt. Burger comes with lettuce, tomato, and pickles and your choice of cheese. I also had a tomato soup that I saved for later that was decent but not worth the $9. I would stick with the sandwiches when you go for lunch. Place is a vibe - nice outdoor seating and a spacious indoors. All in all worth visiting. Perfect for college students or young professionals that are looking for a good cheap lunch.
