"The Gripper Kitchen keeps tacos and nachos flowing from its small Pearland store every day of the week. Maybe it’s the peach cobbler tacos that turn the most heads: three crispy, puffed-up shells arrive packed with caramelized peaches, caramel sauce, a dusting of powdered sugar, and ice cream. But Gripper’s savory tacos, with fillings that include lobster, shrimp, chicken, and a classic ground beef, are a mainstay at this laid-back spot, too." - Camilo Hannibal Smith

Flavorful, seasoned perfection! From the time we got there, the girl at the register was patient and on point. Even though we ordered a lot, she took down everything perfectly. Food came out hot and fresh, looking just as appetizing as it ended up tasting! Hell, the music was even on point! Our drinks were good and strong (not to mention cheap!). My to go banana pudding was heavenly and fresh! Nilla wafers were still crisp! My only complaint is that it's too close to my house! 😂 Y'all better get some!

OMG THIS WAS A 20 out of 10!!! The Gripper Kitchen is truly exceptional! From the moment we entered, we felt like VIPs. The food was incredible—every bite was bursting with flavor and crafted with great care. Chef Tony came out to greet us with such enthusiasm, and positive energy. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that we had everything we needed. The atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxed, clean, and thoughtfully arranged. Truly, this is more than just a meal; it’s an unforgettable experience! If you're in search of delicious food, outstanding service, and a welcoming ambiance, The Gripper Kitchen is the place to be! We will definitely be returning and I highly recommend it!

When I say the food is excellent. Whoever made that food deserves a raise and the cashier was friendly professional courteous and overall a beautiful Queen that was so nice to me I had Renay was the best. I love her energy. Peach cobbler tacos was to die for. Soul bowl was so good and cheesesteak sliders he did that with those fries.

Google
Was an awesome experience! Food was impeccable, fun table games, and the Chef had such a fun & welcoming personality on top of his great skill in the kitchen & it was quick seevice too. Try the peach cobbler gripper. Tacos & the Yung chicken were top notch! Just go!

Google
I'll start with, what I consider, the bad. Prices are kinda aloft. $12 for an al a carte sandwich, then $5 extra for a drink and fries. I feel like everyone has decided C-19 pricing is the way to stay. Now that that's out of the way. Everything else about this place is 5⭐. Detroit inspired foods. Chicken fried to perfection, sauces are unique and flavorful. Portions are appropriate. Staff was awesome. Faygo, another Detroit thing, in multiple flavors. I would recommend.

Google
Food was delicious and the Catfish gripper is on another level. The parmesan fries is something I haven't seen since Pittsburgh so memory lane I went! I went when they opened so I was only customer & the cashier was pleasant. Definitely will come back & tell others about it! Nice Black American restaurant!

Google
I'm a first timer but OMG!!!! The salmon gripper was the bomb. The menu said " You Faking if you ain't adding bacon" so I did and that made it even better!!!! Then the owner came out and asked to try chicken fried taco with crayfish and macaroni...it was a delicious bite!! For desert I had the peach cobbler tacos topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel drizzling over ice cream.... YUMMY AF!!! I love to see an owner in the building engaging with the customers. I'm coming back next we for Taco Tuesday!!!

Google
The service was absolutely amazing! The owner personally made our food and even checked on us to make sure everything was perfect. The chicken fried chicken tacos were out of this world, and the mac and cheese topped with fried chicken was incredibly delicious. The drinks were on point, and the whole experience was top-tier. I cannot wait to go back! Highly recommend!

Yelp
The Gripper is a Pearland Gem Great food and service. I had originally bumped into Chef Tony at the liqour store and asked him "where the party at?" he let me know he was stocking up the restaurant and told me about The Gripper. I knew I had to check it out. I had some of my boys fly in from Phoenix and thought it was a perfect time to pull up. On entering, it was very clean and not overly crowded. I ordered The Yung Gripper and my wife and friends all got the catfish gripper. Listennnnn the chicken and the catfish both fried and seasoned to perfection. Large portions and the sauce went crazy. This isn't a time to be pretty. This is gonna get a lil messy in the best way possible. Grab some napkins and some beer or a mixed drink and dive in. Make sure to roll up those sleeves too. The fries were solid and pricing was good as well. Chef Tony came by to check on us and reassured me he didn't drink all that liqour himself lol. The lady at the front gave great service throughout our visit. I don't know why I'm not here more often. If you haven't been, you need to go. If you have been, pull back up and support some of the best food in Pearland.

Yelp
I finally had the chance to stop by The Gripper Kitchen in Pearland, which was recommended by my mother in law and let me tell you--this spot lives up to the hype! Black owned BTW! I heard it was definitely a go to spot so I had to see what the hype was all about! From the moment I walked in, I could tell it was a popular spot because it was busy inside, but that just reassured me that the food was about to be on point. My mother-in-law and I decided to order to-go since it was packed, and while we waited, I asked the cashier what he recommended. Without hesitation, he told me to go with the catfish and the Philly cheesesteak sliders--and let me tell you, he did NOT disappoint. (I forgot his name). The catfish was perfectly seasoned and fried to crispy golden perfection only drawback that the size was small for the price. The breading had just the right amount of crunch while keeping the fish tender and flaky inside. I've had my fair share of fried catfish from the four corners of the USA, but this ranked top 5 & was easily some of the best I've had in a long time. You can tell they put love into their food, and it wasn't greasy or overcooked--just fresh, flavorful, and cooked right. Now the Philly cheesesteak sliders! Omg bruhhhhh these were next-level. The bread was soft and buttery, and the steak was juicy, well-seasoned, and loaded with gooey stringy melted cheese. They had just the right amount of onions and peppers to give it that classic Philly flavor without overpowering the meat. Each bite was packed with flavor in which it felt like a concert in my mouth cause I was humming, and I honestly could have eaten a whole tray of them. To wash it all down, I got their limeade Kool-Aid, and it was exactly what I needed. Sweet, tangy, and refreshing--it took me right back to childhood. It paired perfectly with the meal, and I could tell they don't skimp on making it just right. (aka that S word) Overall, The Gripper Kitchen will have a grip on you if you get a chance to tap in at there spot. The food was hot, fresh, and full of flavor, and the service was great even with how busy they were. The cashier's recommendation was spot on. They definitely stand out in Pearland fasho!

Yelp
I had some time to kill, while waiting for family so I found this place to eat after work due to being in the area. They are located in Pearland next to Tide. Upon arrival you understand their brand! Very clean, organized. They have self service Togo cutlery. They have post-it notes customers can write I and they paste them to the wall. They provide a red carpet experience as you approach the register. I saw a customer order the peach cobbler tacos and yeah I am trying those next. The fish was fried to perfection crisp on the edges. The Parmesan fries were not greasy and I could not stop eating them. They provide a house dipping sauce. I wanted the lobster sandwich which I will try next time as well. I highly recommend this place, I wish it was closer to the heights.

Samantha M.

Yelp
My husband and I tried this place out because of the great reviews on google and on here as well. He ordered the yung gripper combo and I ordered the Buffalo boneless wings by themselves. Collectively, we give the food 4 stars! The chicken was juicy and flavorful and I didn't bite into any nerves as I sometimes do with others sandwiches. The wings were good. Super saucy. The sandwich was delicious. The flavors together were nothing like I've had before. Husband wants to go back to try other sandwiches. I also loved how everything was branded with the logo. It was on the booths, the paper the food was on and even the burger bun! The comment cards all over the walls were nice too. Gives it a fun kind of feel. The downside was the ranch had no flavor and the parm fries were soggy. We gave the customer service a 2. I've worked in customer service a looong time so I know a thing or two. The cashier was not friendly, not mean, but meh. The person who delivered our food gave us the wrong order and when I told her about it she didn't apologize, she looked confused and just walked away. It was an odd interaction. Customer service was real lackluster. I will say, she did ask us how our meal as we were leaving was so that was good.

Cameran F.

Yelp
I don't know which is better: the food or the service! The Yung Gripper is incredible and the Parmesan fries are delicious. The people who waited on us were kind, quick and attentive.

sarah h.

Yelp
The food was amazing and it looked just like the advertisement on instagram. The place was clean and service was great. The chef/owner was actually back there cooking. I had the chicken pita and my cousin had the chef tony gripper. Excellent combination of flavors. I took my mom tacos and they were delicious as well.

Samara B.

Yelp
The food is tasty, however I found it to be a bit on the pricy side of things. I think for a sandwich, side and drink cost about $17-$20. To be fair, it seems like you can't get lunch much cheaper than that most places these days. I have been here twice now. The sandwiches are on point! I had the Mac n cheese the first time and it was amazing. The second time, it was dry and not what i remembered. So maybe there is a consistency issue with the Mac n cheese, but it was still flavorful. The fries were good. I would come here again.

Lyn R.

Yelp
First time trying this place and I ordered a fish taco that was delicious. I really like their taco shells. It's like a gordita nice and fluffy. I went there to enjoy taco Tuesday. The vibe was cool. I ordered a wine rosé, which was cool. The only thing I didn't like was the peach cobbler. My favorite bag of chips would've been more satisfying than that peach cobbler.

Shea M.

Yelp
I tried the Yung Gripper since it seemed like the popular option. I enjoyed it and maybe could've probably used some spice, but it was really good aside from that and a big portion. My friend got the Philly cheesesteak sliders and enjoyed them. I don't know why I never thought about trying mango koolaid but that really did something for me lol it was so good. I'd be back to try again. Great service, everyone was helpful and it was a very welcoming environment.

Frankie H.

Yelp
First of all the customer service was great. When we were ordering the cashier, it was very helpful with explaining the menu and giving suggestions. The menu has good multiple choices of burgers. Then, when we sat down to wait on the order, the guy didn't know if he was the owner or chef, but he was very kind as he brought food to our table. Now on to the food. I had the lobster burger and lemon pepper wings. The burger was ok, not the best, but it wasn't terrible. Now I liked how the top of the burger had the restaurant name on it. That's cute. The lemon pepper wings were pretty good. I typically prefer dry wings, and these were just lightly wet and tasted good with good season. The prices were a bit higher than I expected.

Yelp
This was my 2nd time visiting Houston but 1st time in this eatery. Its a Black owned business. The customer service was prompt it was professional but also very laid-back. The chef, took the time to come introduce himself and give my sister and I a good rundown of the establishment. Everything was clean, neat and inviting, I would bring kids, like the entire family. There is something for everyone on the menu. N they have daily specials. Just look at my pics and videos, wouldn't you say its mouth watering?? Yup, absolutely delicious. N it tasted gud later that evening. After a day full of activities, I finished off my leftovers, and yup.. still yummy

Rhonda L.

Yelp
Food was so good I forgot to take a picture of it to post! My sister has the salmon gripper and I had the catfish. They both were EXCELLENT!!! I live in Houston but was born and raised in Detroit. Visit this place!!!

Ashley G.

Yelp
The Gripper Kitchen was definitely a vibe inside. I was torn between sitting inside and getting my food to go. Everything inside was clean and just eye catching. I ordered the granddaddy and the fried fish and shrimp combos and I am was glad that I tried both. My favorite was the shrimp. The shrimp was fried hard and seasoned very well. You will need more than 6 lol The catfish was fried and seasoned well too but I think they may use lemon pepper seasoning, which I am not a fan of but it was still tasty. The granddaddy burger was pretty much a salmon burger. The flavors were great but it was kinda overpowering. Not sure if they have sliders on the menu but the salmon burger would have made a great slider vs a big burger. The fries were fresh and homemade, very similar to steak fries and while I wasn't really a fan of them they were cooked well. The guy that took our order was super friendly and helpful. I would recommend checking this place out if you are looking a good portions and great seasoning.

Dina T.

Yelp
The sandwich was delicious and held up nicely all the way to my house. Fries were good but could be crisper for my liking. Plenty of parmesan and seasoning though.

Sandy R.

Yelp
Get a grip!! "We not trippin, we just grippin!" That's the motto here! Chef Tony ain't playing! Y'all come get this good grub! It's a cozy little spot that could be a place where you watch the game or just grab a beer and gripper and chill. The fish was fried to perfection. The parm fries were out of sight! The Mac n cheese will make you slap ya mama! And did I mention the peach cobbler tacos!!! Be prepared to get down and dirty with this delectable dessert!! They are literally finger licking good!! Chef Tony is all the way live - straight outta Detroit!!

Jennifer M.

Yelp
I came here on at Thursday at 12noon. No kine, few pple eating inside. I ordered my food for dine in. There service was very kind. I got an off the menu meal which was theh salmon slider with sweet potato fries. The food came out fast and was super super hot. I do believe food should be served at the perfect temperature. I was soooo hungry but had to wait for my food to cool down. The appearance was very delicious looking. The bread was hot and soft. The slider was very delicious. I love sweet potatoe fries and have never been disappointed with it but unfortunately my fries was very hard so I didn't really enjoy it. But the meal over all was 7/10. Will be back to try other items l. I can reccomend this place

Susan A.

Yelp
This is a top notch restaurant in Pearland. The food was exceptional. I had the Gripper fish and Cajun fries. Unbelievable quality!

Shannon H.

Yelp
The fries are what we deducted for they just taste like they're barely cooked and from a bag the seasoning couldn't even mask that taste. There was also an issue with ordering online they kept pausing it while I was trying to pay so I couldn't place my order and I tried to call and they told me try again in 10 min instead of taking my order. They did have an interesting food options! My boyfriend for the fried catfish and fried shrimp and he loved it and he's picky. He was very excited about the Faygo drink option. I got the grilled chicken gripper a lot of bread but the flavor was amazing! It was a mess to eat but I'd eat it again the onion rings were pretty good better than the fries! And then we got kids chicken tenders to split and they were delicious too! Only real complaint is that they need new fries. Oh and we got the caramel peach cobbler and that was delicious also!

Tay C.

Yelp
Fried shrimp and catfish basket is my go to! It's delicious and a little treat for myself when I want good tasting food that isn't a part of my "healthy options".

Tiffany J.

Yelp
I had dinner with fellow Pearland Yelper Justin T. a few weeks ago. Gripper Kitchen was all over my Yelp feed, so I was happy to finally try it. When we walked in, they had R&B tunes playing. It's definitely a vibe in there. There's a lot of IG photo ops too. The staff was nice and explained the menu. I ordered the Rockin Rodeo with Parmesan Fries and a cup of Kool Aid. The food was served pipping hot! It takes about 15-20 minutes for it to be prepared and they won't make it until you order it. My sandwich was good, but was very salty. I ate most of it, but was thirsty the rest of the evening. I really loved the Parmesan fries! I was only able to eat half of them simply because the basket had so much food! They do not skimp on the portions. The Kool Aid was soooo good! It had the perfect amount of sweetness and brought me back to my childhood! We weren't sure if they charged for refills, so I nursed my drink to make it last. They didn't offer a size option for the beverages. Justin had the catfish and shrimp combo and enjoyed it. I definitely want to try the catfish on my next visit because it looked really good! While we were eating, there was a steady stream of people stopping in to pick up orders to go. Chef Tony came out and greeted customers. He acknowledged us far afar, but didn't stop by our table. Maybe because I broke the golden rule and used a knife to cut my sandwich in half before using my grippers lol. #noshame

Tonya G.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was good but I have to mention the fried shrimp!! They were SOOO good. The service was good too so we appreciated that. The ambiance was okay too as they had a few TV's and music playing but the music was a little loud. I want to say we waited about 35-40 minutes for our food. Ordered: Fried shrimp plate Slider Fried fish plate

Tutti S.

Yelp
I accidently ordered a catfish gripper, thinking it was catfish and fries and I'm here to say, I'm glad I ordered it. I enjoyed every bite of this fresh and flavorful sandwich with coleslaw and delish sauce...and the catfish was fried to perfection. I also love the fact that they also have tasty onion rings and sweet potato fries for side choices. Service was excellent, the person taking my order had great customer service skills, he was friendly, helpful and welcoming. I'll be back for the grippers and to try other items on the menu. Yum!

Tramaine B.

Yelp
Saw The Gripper on the Facebook and decided to stop In because everything looked amazing. Went in on a Wednesday (its their slow day) immediately greeted by the Chef Tony (Owner); you would've thought I knew him from back in the day. He gave me his suggestions on the menu. I ended up with the Chef Tony; chicken breast dipped on buffalo sauce, pepper jack cheese, spicy coleslaw, pickles, lettuce tomato, sweet lou sauce on a toasted brioche bun, along with parmesan fries and green koolaid. I was also blessed with a special drink on the side. The food was amazing, seasoned well and hot. I definitely want to come back to try some other options. Be prepared to fill up or take it to go. They will get on you about using a knife. IYKYK!

Crystal M.

Yelp
We enjoyed everything! We had fried fish, shrimp, onion rings, a side salad, lobster gripper and a salmon gripper. All items were delicious but the onion rings stood out to me. They were a mix between a hush puppy and an onion ring - def a must order. The lobster gripper was fried to perfection and had a great texture. The owner and team were friendly and made us feel right at home. Note: I don't have pictures because I was excited to dig in. ;) But take my word for it, it's worth a visit.

Claudine L.

Yelp
I had the catfish gripper. They definitely do not skimp on the portion size of the fish. I did wish that my fish was fried a little harder. I did like the sandwich the coleslaw wasn't to sweet or made the sandwich soggy. In truth, I did expect just a tab bit more flavor based on pictures though. The fries were pretty good. I really enjoyed the mango koolaid. I will come back and try out their wings and hockey sand which.

LaKeshia S.

Yelp
If you haven't been to The Gripper Kitchen, stop what you doing and go...NOW. The customer service is A1, amazing. It was my husband and I first time and we asked for suggestions. The waiter and Chef Tony told us their favorite grippers. So we order the Chef Tony! delicious and my husband ordered the Grill Chicken. The food was GOOD and the parmesan fries were the best I ever had. If you eat all of your food, let me know. Lol The location has plenty of parking. The restaurant was clean and the music wasn't overpowering a conversation. But we all sang and danced to the playlist. Chef Tony can sing and cook. Before you leave please add a special note on the wall. What are you waiting on... go now. The food will NOT disappoint. You're welcome

Lacy P.

Yelp
The Gripper Catfish was so delicious!!! It was seasoned very well and not too salty with a cornmeal batter. The sweet potato fries were made from scratch and had a sweet glaze drizzle on them. The fries were good but needed a dash of salt. I went in for take out but would love to dine in next visit. Customer Service was great and most of all wait time was not too long. Inside they have TV screens on the wall, music, and the vibe inside was upbeat. I enjoyed reading the different signs posted. I ordered the mango lemonade which was good and for the beer drinkers, they serve it here. The Gripper Kitchen also has Taco Tuesdays and I am looking forward to ordering and trying out the variety of tacos offered.

Alexandria R.

Yelp
UPDATE: I gave them some time and went back. Things definitely has improved and my sandwich was delicious. I am not a huge fan of the fries. Overall, I am glad I returned. Old review:Well to start the 40 min wait for food was long but they do inform you of the time frame if you ask. My chicken sandwich was flavorful but fried too hard so that killed some stars. I think this place is new so I'll have to try again in a few months once they are fully staffed and worked out the kinks.

Yu N.

Yelp
A bit expensive for burgers and fries. Floor is very sticky. Food is pretty good. I enjoy their fries as they had their own unique version of it. The thing I thought was a 9.5/10 was the sweet tea. Fries and burger were 8/10.

Kiki L.

Yelp
If you're looking for a TOP TIER food place....IT'S HERE! My party had the Catfish, Salmon, Chef Tony, & Lobster sammich. OOOOOOH weeeee! I can't even tell you which was better. The fact that they took their time to season each meat with PERFECTION is something I don't experience regularly. If you're a lobster lover....you'll appreciate the light batter & tenderly cooked meat Le

Crystal G.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the food here. I had the grilled chicken gripper. The sauce on my chicken sandwich was amazing. The banana pudding was also really good. The service was good staff was helpful with food suggestion selections. Will definitely go back.

Karl A.

Yelp
Food was awesome and great customer service! My girlfriend found this place on tik tok and it lived up to hype

Veronica W.

Yelp
Back for our fifth trip to this joint within two trips from Vegas to Houston and the food has been delicious each time! Met the owner and got his back story!! We will definitely come here every trip to Pearland. It's the Parmesan fries for me!!

Dorothy H.

Yelp
This is my first time ordering, and it was a great experience .Well balanced flavors, the fish was really crispy 10/10 (I was worried about that crisp) the kool-aid was good and balanced not too sweet! AND THE FRIES 10/10 very crispy for a to go order!

Emy A.

Yelp
We finally tried their food. We ordered the yung gripper, lobster gripper, Chef Tony, onion rings, and koolaid. The sandwiches were huge. The onion rings were okay and the koolaid was sweet and tangy. Chef Tony came to each table to check on us. They have a sign that says that they are not fast food but serve passion food so you have to have patience.

Brenda J.

Yelp
Delicious food, customer service is above average and a great vibe! You won't be disappointed!!

Justin T.

Yelp
Another episode of "Social Media Made Me Do It"! The Gripper Kitchen kept popping up on all my timelines and lo and behold, it is located in my neck of the woods. Fellow Pearland Yelper Tiffany J saw it too so we decided we had to come check them out. It took a little longer to get here because they were always closed on the days we were available. We came for an early dinner because they also close early on the days they are open. When we arrived, there was a few people in line, and a few people seated. After we sat, the place filled up. There was also alot of people picking up orders as well. They will also tell you, the food comes out fresh, so expect a little wait. Customer service was great. The owner even came out of the kitchen a few times to mingle and make everyone laugh. So The Gripper Kitchen was created in Detroit during the chicken sandwich wars of 2019. The Yung Gripper is the signature sandwich that made them popular. What I kept seeing on social media was the fried catfish that looked amazing and that is exactly what I ordered. I ordered it with the fried shrimp combo and regular fries. The food did in fact take a little while to come out, but it was hot and fresh and smelled great. I like my fish fried hard and that's exactly how it comes without even requesting it. The fish was fried to perfection and had the crunch that I love. It was seasoned just right as well. The shrimp were big in size and equally seasoned and fried perfect. The combo comes with parmesan fries but I went regular. I should've stuck with parmesan because the regular fries were boring. I also got a side of spicy slaw. It was a vinegar based slaw that was good, but I wouldn't order it again. I washed it down with red Kool-Aid which was delicious. It took me back to my childhood but I wish it was a little larger for the price paid. We weren't sure about refills ad didn't feel like asking just to get turned down. Tiffany got the Rockin Rodeo Gripper which is one of their BBQ chicken sandwiches and she said it was really good. They have a nice selection of desserts which looked great, but I decided to check it out next time. Overall, I'm happy they decided to open up shop in Pearland because it is definitely a welcome addition as we need more unique eateries outside of all the chains we have. I will be back!

Robin J.

Yelp
. It was okay, I'm not going to say it wasn't. I ordered the lobster burger, and let me just say, I could have did without the lobster on my burger. It didn't come with fries, u had to add that, and it didn't come with a drink, I believe that's why. I believe, if u pay that much for a burger it should at least come with some fries or chips. Pros: they are fast, food comes out hot, it's clean, owner is very nice. And overall it's a black business. Customer service is A1, they give u a chick-fil-A type of service But.... This is my own opinion.. GO TRY IT OUT FOR YOURSELF. Hell maybe I need to go back and just try a different burger

Sam M.

Yelp
I ordered the Philly cheesesteak hygienist and the Gripper fries. The steak was dry, greasy and hard like it had been cooked way earlier and dried out. Everything was too salty. The only positive is that I ordered ahead and the order was ready as specified. This was my first time. I was sorely disappointed. I eceived a reply from the manager. I admit it was 30 mins before closing. I appreciate that. It could have just been a one-time instance. I'll give the business another try. Thsnks.!!!

Bruce O.

Yelp
I heard rave reviews about this place, but I can only say it is 'okay'. My food was hot, and I guess you could call it fresh--however everything was fried. The fish was cooked crisp, but not dry (just how I like it), and the fries were good. The iced tea was quite sweet. My main issue about the food was that it was overly-salty. The service at the front counter was adequate, but not warm and fuzzy, and the restaurant tables were not clean (I had to wipe mine down with napkins). For $30, I think I would look elsewhere for fried fish, shrimp, fries, and tea, but that's just me. Those are sit down prices your might experience at Pappa's, for a service-counter experience. I WILL give this place another (for the famed Gripper burger), just to make sure this was not a one-off 'meh' experience.

Ingrid W.

Yelp
My son found this little hide away in Pearland and this was his 2nd time going so I rode with him to pick up his order. First thing I noticed was the music was VERY LOUD but I sang to the jams. He ordered the Chicken Gripper (no pickles) w/sweet potato fries, banana pudding and a grape soda. He shared the meal with me since I was not very hungry. The sandwich had PICKLES which he ordered without. Otherwise, the food was good and hot. Someone cooking from the back kitchen yelled out and cracked a joke with us being friendly. Probably the Owner. It was nice to see they all had on gloves while cooking in the back. The decor was fully invested in the gripper concept with numerous pictures of the menu items. The menu was on an 8x10 sealed paper but a little small and hard to read. The smell of fish cooking was strong in the sitting area. The ventilation could be better. I want to go back and try the wings and catfish. My son said he would go back again also. There is plenty of parking.

This place has such a great vibe! Hubby and I went on a Friday evening date for dinner, and it did not disappoint. The loud but fun R&B music playlist was jumping, a steady flow of people coming in and out, the owner walking through the dining room and talking to guests, making funny jokes... It was a great, lively vibe! I enjoyed my food. I had the two-piece catfish, fries and added a side of coleslaw. I'd definitely order it again because it was tasty, but next time, I will request for the fish to be fried harder, and I will skip the coleslaw. It's not your traditional coleslaw. It would be more accurately described as shredded cabbage that is seasoned with savory spices (no dressing on it). My hubby got the catfish gripper and he enjoyed it as well. He got the cajun seasoned fries but said next time, he would just get the regular fries because the seasoned fries combined with the over-the-top fish sandwich flavors was a flavor battle. All in all, we can't wait to go back and try another gripper!

Yelp
Listen, I was running out of good food options in Pearland. All of my usual spots were slowly losing me, whether over food quality or service, so I had to try something new! This place was fun and inviting, great customer service! I actually enjoyed my burger and the Parmesan fries were delish! It's a big burger so bring your appetite! I ordered the Rockin Rodeo and it was actually good considering I'm picky about my barbecue sauce! Overall pleasantly pleased with my experience!

Yelp
The gripper kitchen was enjoyable. I loved the peach cobbler tacos. I ordered the pita and it was cooked and seasoned well.

Yelp
Hubby and I wanted to try this place. It's a simple fish/chicken sandwich place with loud music. The service is very slow. We ordered at 6.33 pm, we got the food at 7.12 pm. If you are gonna come here famished or with kids, I will rethink the decision. I noticed most of their focus was on the deliveries. Food was good. I ordered the catfish gripper combo and hubby order chef Tony combo. We also had the cheese cake. Combos come with a choice of variety of fries. Catfish gripper and sweet potato fries were good. So, was the Chef Tony with Cajun fries. I will come to this establishment after few months once they are smoothly operating.

Yelp
Walking in, the young men at the front were nice. It was about a 20-25 minute wait in order to receive my food. I decided not to dine in, but rather take the food home. I ordered two of the catfish gripper meals (the kool aid was bomb!) When I opened the container of the food, it looked delicious. Don't get me wrong, the food had a lot of flavor but the presentation was horrible. It was VERY sloppy to where you could barely pick up the burger. It looked like whoever prepared the food was in a rush to get the order out. Presentation to me is everything, especially because I would've loved taking a picture of my food here. The fries were pretty good, though. Besides my initial visit, I would definitely try this place out again. My total I believe was $44 for two meals which is on the pricier side.

Yelp
This place is a must go! You definitely want to add it to your list of Houston restaurants! From the entrance, to the inside, to the service, to the food quality this place has it all! I ordered the fried catfish gripper and I ordered the loaded fries along with peach cobbler. They were all excellent. The fish was hot and made fresh with the softest bun I've ever had. I had to stop myself from eating all the loaded fries they are a whole meal! The staff was very friendly and I believe the owner was there and he was having a good time cooking in the kitchen. I will share this place with all my friends and I will be back several times. I also had the Kool-Aid, which was really good. I will say, they need to get red Kool-Aid, we love red! Lol! So glad this place opened in Pearland. I look forward to coming back.

Yelp
These are not your little Chick-fil-A chicken sandwiches. Texas sized and flavorful. Get napkins and prepare to get your hands dirty! We tried the bbq chicken sandwich and the young gripper which were both pretty dag on good. We left with our bellies full for hours. The seating inside was nice with screens to watch the game and the staff was super friendly and personable.
