The Grove Wine Bar & Kitchen - Downtown

Love this place! Super cute and classy interior. Service was excellent. Everything was clean. Drinks were delicious. Food was amazing! There were nine of us and everything we ordered was phenomenal! High quality ingredients, bursting with flavor, prepared to perfection.

We made a reservation for NYE and were not disappointed. The Grove is in a great location downtown and easy to get to. We had outdoor seating which was nice since it was a bit crowded inside. The outside has heaters so it wasn’t too cold. They have a great selection of wine and food options. We had the Brussels sprouts for an appetizer and were super impressed. Probably some of the best that we have had. Pizza and pasta were also on point!

Great restaurant! We sat outside and it was very nice. The charcuterie board is a must. It can feed up to 6 ppl. I got the creole pasta and it was very good. My daughter got the salmon on risotto, but really didn’t like it because the risotto was black instead of white we didn’t ask how they made it, but she really didn’t like that but the salmon on it was very good. Loved the wine flights!! we tried the crème brûlée, and it was very good. Service was good. Restaurant was pretty clean. Parking is bad.

We had a 12-year old with us on our trip to The Grove after being turned away at a few different places. It was early in the evening (8:00 pm), but NO bars with food will except you just for food. OMGOAT the bartender (also our server) was just amazing at The Grove. They were also the one making our drinks, and later informed us they designed the menu.

There was a lot of wine and you could order flights to taste aplenty. Nice vibe. If I was rating this restaurant on the crispy Brussels sprouts alone, it would be a 5 hands down. The other food was good (but not exceptional). The service was surprisingly slow and inattentive. There were some great options on the menu, so I would give it another shot (if I lived in Austin).

I really like this place. The food is very tasty and the service is lovely. When we asked for some water for our dog, the waiter immediately agreed. Thank you very much.

I've enjoyed The Grove since its inception. The owners used to have an Italian concept called Mezza Luna. Sadly, it was destroyed in a fire. Instead of recreating that concept, they created The Grove. In the early years, you could see many of the recipes that were carried over. But keep in mind in no way is The Grove an Italian restaurant. Rather, I would define it as Americana. Today's dish was Ginger Noodle. Clearly, it's not an Italian dish, lol. Quite good, a bit spicy, but a pleasant change from what I normally get, which is the Bolognese, also excellent.

My first visit to The Grove yesterday was amazing! The cocktails were fresh and delicious! I tried the Lavender Lemonade, Summer Rita, and Strawberry Refresher, all wonderful! The food was just as great! I had the Ahi Tuna Salad with extra ponzu sauce (I love salt). It was so yummy it’s my fav salad of all time! My hubby had the forbidden rice bowl and added steak. He loved it and I thought it was yummy too! Both were huge helpings! We also tried the fried oysters on their house made potato chips. It was a flavorful and light appetizer. This will be our Austin date night spot from now on! Scottie was our bartender, and wonderful! He was friendly, professional, provided excellent service as well as all the staff. The atmosphere was calm, chill with warm lighting. The music was low enough for having conversations. It was very clean. Can’t wait to go back!

We hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner in Feb 2024 at The Grove and it was fabulous in every respect! Hats off to Aimee and the entire staff! The entire process was great; the food and service was splendid. Our special needs were accommodated smoothly. I'll close by highly recommending that you consider them for your group event of up to 60 people!

My three friends and I had dinner here on Sunday at 6:00pm. It was lovely. I have traveled a fair amount and have never been to a wine restaurant that served a wine flight quite like the Grove did. You can order a flight of three wines that are all 3 oz pours, a 6 oz glass, or the wine by the bottle. Obviously there is a huge wine selection. My friend and I started with hot tea and espresso and it came out immediately, which was super nice because then we were able to enjoy our wine pretty quickly after. The menu has a lot of gluten free and vegan options, which is why we originally chose it, and it did not disappoint in this department for sure. We ordered the gluten free bruschetta and gluten free calamari, both extremely excellent. The bruschetta has over a dozen options for toppings which was unique and fun. We loved the mushroom one and the sausage one. For dinner the chicken with grits was outstanding and I ordered the wine pizza that came with arugula (a little too much arugula on top). The burrata pizza does not, in fact, come with burrata on it. My friend learned that the hard way. We ordered traditonal crust (not gluten free), and it was a really nice crust. The service was great and the place was packed when we left, I am glad we had a bit of an earlier reservation.

I love the Grove!! It's my comfort place to go for a good, hot meal in a decent restaurant. Service was kind and you cannot beat the prices of their mimosa flight which is about $6 for 3 glasses it's an incredibly affordable deal with amazing flavor choices!! I ordered the desert pear, lavender and pineapple mimosa. For my meal I ordered the chicken and waffles for brunch and my meal came out extremely overcooked which was disappointing. The server was polite about it but my friend's order also came out burnt as well so I'm not sure if they were having an "off" weekend.

The staff is really friendly. There was no wait time for a table. The food came out quick and tasted good, only issue was the tail on the shrimp my fiancé was choking on them.

My second time here trying some new things, I took an Uber from South Austin to meet some girlfriends for a catchup. What's not pictured here is the bruschetta. It's a flat $15 for three crustini but you get to pick combo three ways to have it. For example: ricotta, lemon peel and bacon or prosciutto, fig and arugula or raspberry, goat cheese and honey. The little crustini is then cut into like 6 one bite pieces. If I'm being honest it was not exciting at all, none of them wowed me in flavor or texture and I was low key mad at the price point for three toast points. Try something else. I had a skinny margarita and it was delicious and the mains are always delicious. My halibut was cooked to perfection. My friends are sommeliers and loved the wine menu and I always plan to come back and try the many things I have not yet.

We were downtown for a concert and was looking around for something to eat as a pre-event snack. We got the bruschetta and when they said they had a frozen espresso martini, I knew I had to try it!! We sat at the bar and had no problem grabbing a spot around 6:00pm on a Friday. The bruschetta was great and tasted fresh. The espresso martini was my favorite and I'd definitely go back again. Thanks for a new spot!

Went with my uncle and had a great outdoor seating. The views are all trees with nice breeze and space. Definitely sit outside. Service was great as they weren't pushy. We got drinks and apps and then waited for dinner. Appetizers we had bruschettas traditional mozzarella, one with mushrooms and one with honey. Even my uncle who isn't a mushroom fan loved it. Ravioli was great but best part was soft bread after to soak it up was delicious. My uncle had a chicken sandwich and loved it as he said it was still juicy and great bread. Sit outdoors and it will be great.

What a lovely place! The service was wonderful and the staff made sure our large group (12) was fully taken care of at all times. Everything from the appetizers to dessert was delicious! The shrimp was the star of the restaurant for me, the fried shrimp appetizer with the sauce was so flavorful. The pasta could have been spicier but that's a personal preference. Also the crème brûlée was fantastic!! (No pictures because I could NOT wait to dive in lol) Would recommend to a friend visiting austin!

Great wine and drinks. Stopped in on a Friday without a reservation, and we were promptly seated in the bar area. The 2 bartenders take care of the bar and tables, and our server was fantastic. We started with the Cabernet Flight, and we both usually tend toward the heartier (and generally more expensive) wines, but my wife ended up liking the least expensive one better! The flights are a good way for one, two, or more of you to try a few different options at a reasonable price. For dinner, my wife got the Quinoa Bowl and added shrimp. I got the Parm Crusted Flounder. Both were excellent, and came out quickly, fresh, and tasty. My fish was excellent, the grits were very good, and the mound of asparagus was great. The Quinoa had a great mix of veggies, and was a great, healthier option. Our server was super busy, but checked in on us regularly, and took great care of us. The hostess did a great job getting us in, and thanked us graciously on the way out. Highly recommended.

We did not have a reservation and were able to be seated pretty promptly. We requested bar seating so we could watch the KC chiefs v the Bengals game. I had previously had the carrot ginger soup with a grilled sandwich at my last visit for lunch. Even though the grilled cheese sandwich is not part of the dinner menu, the kitchen accommodated my order from the lunch menu which was fantastic! I recommend both the soup and sandwich. The cheese is really gooey and the outside is just the right amount of crunch. The carrot ginger soup has a great balance of the sweetness of the carrots and the ginger flavor is not overwhelming. It is super creamy too. Don't be fooled by how small the cup is compared to a bowl of soup. It was extremely filling!

Celebrating my fav Aquarius! my fav thing on the menu was the sandwhichon. The service was so lovely every time they brought out a dish the presentation was gorgeous... there was a standing ovation for each dish from our party! They gave great recommendations on the bruschetta, the sausage one was so so so yummy!

This review is based on a company meeting we had here for about 40 people. It was a morning meeting that went into the afternoon, and it does not reflect the wine bar itself, just the food. We started with a breakfast buffet that was supposed to start at 8:30 but didn't happen until 9 o'clock which set our meeting back. Breakfast tacos were the offering, however, we were all surprised there was no salsa. Who serves breakfast tacos in Austin without salsa?! Needless to say, the tacos were not very exciting. They did have a large pot of coffee and water, but no juice. As a result, this poorly executed breakfast was somewhat disappointing. I was hoping the lunch beffet would be better, but it too left much to be desired. The Caesar salad was mediocre and there was no shaved Parmesan to save it. The other house salad fared better. The salmon served on a bed of rice was fairly flavorless. Even the chicken served on mashed potatoes was forgettable, but at least it wasn't dry. However, their small chocolate raspberry desserts were very tasty. There were some things noticeably absent, like something to drink other than water, dinner rolls, and there were no salt and pepper dispensers on the tables. At least they use proper silverware with cloth napkins. The table service was somewhat present, but not attentive. To sum it up, everything was edible, but forgettable. If you're looking to have a large meeting here of 50 people or less, I would not recommend this place, as it was quite crowded and fairly uncomfortable. Fortunately, I was not picking up the bill for these 2 buffets, otherwise this would be two stars not three.

We decided to try this restaurant down the street from our hotel on 6th Street. We didn't have a reservation, but we were told we could sit at the bar. The bar has seats around it as well as a few tables of 4 and tables for 2. We took a table for two and enjoyed the bar's ambiance. We had a great server who was friendly, gave excellent selection advice and was consistently around to refill our water glasses, which I always appreciate. We started with the Oven Roasted House Meatballs, which were quite big (4 in all), and you could tell they were freshly made. It came with two slices of bread that were perfect for this appetizer. I'm not sure what type of bread it was, but we both felt it enhanced the meatballs. The sauce itself was divine! We also requested to share a Large Grove Wedge Salad with our meal and the server brought it out on two separate plates, perfectly sliced for two. It was also quite good and complimented our main dish selections. I order the Bolognese and the sauce was similar to the meatballs but had more of a creamy texture to it. It was probably one of the best Bolognese dinners I have ever experienced! The serving was quite large, and I had to take nearly half of it in a to-go box. My friend had the Spicy Asian Noodles (based on our server's recommendation), and she too raved about her dish and had to get a to-go box, as we were both pleasantly full. If I am back in Austin again, I will not hesitate to make a reservation and return to this great restaurant.

This place is a party in your mouth! Many gluten free options for the three of us who are gluten free. I haven't been out to a place that had gluten free meatballs and they were fantastic.

So glad we found this place on our weekend trip! Such a great brunch/lunch spot! It was so go I went back the next day for the crab cake! The staff is super friendly and there are plenty of fantastic options on lunch and brunch menus. Great mix of wine options as well.

Great place for brunch downtown especially for large parties. The restaurant has a lot of seating both indoors and outdoors - the outdoor area is especially nice when it's not too hot outside! I ordered their fried chicken and crème brûlée French toast, which was a nice sweet and savory combo. They also have $4 mimosas in a variety of flavors! Overall their food is great (can be a little pricy) and they have good service!

I had so much fun dining at The Grove with one of my girlfriends! They had a great selection of wines, plus wine flights. My friend opted for the sparking flight and I went with a flight of their French wines. The food was AWESOME. We started with the quail and calamari. I must note that my friend is a picky eater and it was her first time trying quail, but she was pleasantly surprised! We had the bolognese and ravioli for dinner and those did not disappoint. We went on a Friday night and the vibe was buzzing. It was great to be right on West Sixth, next to all the bars. Can't wait to go back to try their brunch!

Do yourself a huge favor at get the Bruschetta Trio. Wow there are so many options I wanted to try them all. We ended up with the salmon, the pear and the apple & fig. Definitely the best one was the salmon! The flavors were incredible. My mouth was singing with how smokey the salmon was against the cream cheese. Also got the burrata salad which was really tasty. The bread that it came with seemed unnecessary though and it didn't taste that great. The burrata pizza was very juicy and very bready. Really good service, my water cup never reached under 80% full. And our waitress was really good about checking on us.

Absolutely delicious brunch and tons of wine variety. I got the fried chicken and crème brûlée French toast and it was so delicious, the chicken was so tasty and crispy!! I also thought the amount of chicken I got with the meal was great too. I sat indoors but their patio seemed dreamy and airy with ceiling fans. The pricing was also reasonable, just keep in mind THERE IS NO PARKING, I would strongly recommend getting dropped off lol.

I think 4/5 stars is fair. This place is so good. The bruschetta was absolutely the highlight but I'm a sucker for some good bruschetta. The only thing I would say is that I ordered the Calabrian chili pasta and the main ingredient was....onion. Which I am fine with. However, it was not mentioned in the menu and had my husband ordered it he would've started flipping tables. I recommend mentioning all ingredients in the menu description but other than that it was great!! Just wanted to give a head up for fellow onion haters.

We did Wine flights #8 and #10 reds and the were good but not great. If you order a drink and ask for it on the rocks they charge $2 for an ice cube. That is annoying and they loose 1/2 star on that. How about a flight of bruschetta? That was the best part of our entire food and drink experience here. The Halibut was a bit on the dry side or maybe over cooked but the sauce made up for it. The place has a very open and comfortable vibe. All the staff are fantastic. Rating is 4.4

This was a wonderful place to come for drinks and light bites! We wanted something smaller since it was a late lunch. We didn't want to spoil our appetite for dinner so we chose the Grove! We made a reservation and walked to the location. The overall place was wonderful. Food: The food that we ordered was the hummus plate and the bruschetta. The trio we chose for the bruschetta: Whipped Herb Feta, Baby Heirloom Tomato, and Apple, Fig. All were amazing! The hummus plate was also very good but lacked a bit of flavor. We would order both again! Drinks: We shared a bottle of white wine. I cannot remember which bottle but it was delicious! My husband also tried the Susto Paloma and enjoyed it! Service: The waiter we had was wonderful. She checked on us often but not too much. We were in a booth and felt very private. We will definitely visit again next time we are in town! We saw a lot of people at the bar ordering drinks and also several with multiple plates on the table.

A good friend and I had an impromptu dinner at Grove on MLK night and didn't really know what to expect! What we had, was a great dining experience! Sunny was our waitress/bartender and while the Filet was perfectly cooked and the bolognese was stupidly good, the dinner was exceptional because of Sunny. Her attentiveness, without being overbearing, was spot on, as were her food recommendations and her martini making skills! I'll definitely be going back, soon, and hope to see Sunny!

I am obsessed with their bruschetta - the strawberry & goat cheese was my favorite along with the smoked salmon/ cream cheese and gorgonzola/ honey! they also had a great selection of wines and offered a variety of flight options so you're able to taste a few different options! will definitely be back for their great bites & ambiance

Here I am again! The Grove is one of my favorite brunch spots. The food never disappoints and you can't beat $17 bottles of Cava. They come with up to three syrups/juices. This time a friend and I shared the Bruschetta Trio- House Smoked Salmon with herb cream cheese, whipped herb feta with local honey and crushed pistachio, wild mushroom with aged balsamic and smoked gouda. Also the Point Judith Calamari. The mushroom bruschetta was my fav & the calamari on point!

The grove is super yummy and has an amazing happy Hour! Their bolognese is some Of the best I've ever had! I was very surprised and left happy! Will definitely come back and can't wait!

THE BIG: Located in West 6th right across the street from Green Light Social. Mix indoor/outdoor patio space with views. Vast wine selection menu. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here on a busy Saturday night with a couple of friends and the weather + ambiance was great! We started off with a bottle of the chianti clasico before ordering our entrees. We didn't order any appetizers because we were just hungry for our entrees. The light bites did look great. There was a bruschetta flight that I'm definitely going to hit up when I come back. I ordered the roasted chicken. It was juicy and complemented the roasted tomatos + mashed potato combo underneath the meat. They also do have a wine flight that I'm interested in partaking in...of course next time I show up. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall, damage done was ~$34 including tax and tip plus splitting a bottle 4 ways. Ambiance is great with endless choice on wine. Will definitely be back!

Took the hubby here for a birthday dinner and he loved it. We had reservations for 7pm and as soon as we arrived, our table was ready. I don't recall our waitresses name but she was great. Had plenty of recommendations and was quick and helpful. We started with a glass of wine and an old fashion. For the appetizers, we did the bruschetta which I loved all 3 of the ones we opted for. He ordered the capellini pasta (+ chicken) and I ordered the short rib and brussels sprouts. While the short rib was extremely tender, it wasn't hot by any means. It appeared it sat out waiting on his food to be finished, because his was nice and hot. Nonetheless, a really cute place to dine at with a nice wine selection.

We went here for a night cap and ordered some wine and crème brûlée. After our dinner elsewhere, we were looking for a quieter setting for a drink. It was the perfect ending to our night. However, the service was a little slow. I will say our waitress noticed the lag and made up for it by bringing by our drinks swiftly. The dessert was yummy! Overall, a good experience.

Beautiful space and great service. Sat at the bar and Sunny took great care of us. Great cocktail selection and an assortment of wine flights. We ordered a Caesar salad which was garlicky and crisp. Our server split the salad for us which was greatly appreciated. Next we ordered the meatballs with burrata. They were tender and the sauce was very tasty! Entree was the Shrimp and Sausage fettuccine. They also split this for us . Dessert was an Espresso Martini. Prices are super reasonable and portions were generous.

Stopped by for some snacks and drinks before grabbing dinner at Sammie's. Great bruschetta (we got salmon one, heirloom tomato one, and pear/walnut one). "Burrata top shelf" pizza was light and tasty (not very filling which was what we wanted). I got 2 of the Frose. They were solid. The bubbly blossom was a good decision, too. Excellent service. I don't typically go to places like The Grove, but I'd go back for light fare. $80 for bruschetta, pizza, and 3 cocktails.

this is my favorite go-to restaurant in Austin. It has everything. And everything is delicous. Great wines. Fair prices. I hate the "sharing menus" at other restaurants, think they are a ripoff and confusing. This is your traditional restaurant but has so many opitons, you can mix and match and share as You wish!! There are several locations, all are great.

Wait staff is great, outside deck is covered and enjoyable to get fresh air. Enjoyed a delicious salmon salad which is topped with french onions which really kicks up the flavor. Love that this location is also a coffee shop in the morning. Need to try that before I leave. The space has very modern/industrial vibes.

Delicious, unique food and friendly staff made out large party dinner a success. I enjoyed the steak salad and hubby the fettuccine with prosciutto and panchetta, both so filling. My steak was quite tender! We also shared in tangy roasted brussel sprouts and a charcuterie board that was so good but we needed 2 for our 10 people...it disappeared fast! Lovely setting with wine lining the walls quite literally.

My friend and I stopped in here for dinner while visiting Austin. I absolutely loved it, everything tasted so good. I got the pineapple daiquiri as a drink. It was really good, sweet, however not as strong as I would have liked. It tasted like juice. I wish it would have had more kick to it. I got the medium meatlovers pizza for my entree and it was sooo good. I'm a pizza lover and it did not disappoint. It came with 8 slices, and was very tasty, and extra cheesy. The service here was A1. Our server was kind and attentive and everything came out very quick. My friend got the Asian noodles and I tasted a bite of it, it was also very good with a nice spicy kick to it. If you go later in the day or a weekend, I would recommend making a reservation. I would definitely eat here again.

The food was very tasty! We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. Our favorites were the bruschetta appetizer and the pizza! They also have a fun take on their fried oysters as they were served on potato chips. We'll definitely be back!

I actually really love the Grove but never tried the downtown location. We decided to have dinner here for my daughters 14th bday with some friends as we were attending the Justin Bieber concert. We made reservations at 5:30. We ordered our food around 5:50pm and our food took almost an hour. It was not busy at all! Even the table after us was waited on first and had their food come out . By the time we received our food, that table had left. Why I'm giving a 1 is based on the customer service. Our waitress was extremely condescending & rude and just didn't want to wait on us what so ever. Terrible experience. We talked to a a manger to explain the problem and she gave us 30% off our ticket. That was nice of her however we wished we could have enjoyed our dinner especially for my daughters bday .

Good dinner with a bunch of work colleagues tonight. The outdoor patio is large and has equally large fans to keep the area cool. The wine menu is also quite large with many varietals from which to choose. We shared several different bruschettas, as well as charcuterie trays, calamari, and other apps. All were delicious. I had the flounder, which was large and cooked nicely. Others in my group tried the salmon as well as several different bowls. Everyone was happy with their choices.

What better way to kick off the weekend than with a great view of Hill Country and a cocktail in hand? The Grove gives all that and more. Not only can enjoy gorgeous nature views from their outdoor patio, but they also have beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows in their indoor dining area. I decided to try their Spicy Asian Noodle dish, and it didn't disappoint. It was the perfect quantity for lunch and the pricing wasn't too bad either. Make sure to add this place for a girl's day/night out or a date night with that someone special.

Service was A1!! They have gluten-free options! They were very accommodating to my group of friends. The food came out timely. I definitely suggest trying the calamari! The bolognese was good.. i add jalapeños to mine. I would definitely go back to tryout their brunch menu!

This place was a good vibe. I ordered the chicken and the fried okra and it all tasted pretty good. Chicken and potatoes were both seasoned well. I will say the service wasn't the best, took forever for him to take our actual food order but he was still really nice, maybe he was just busy. This place gives a very family friendly vibe, pretty quiet, so probably not the spot for friends or birthday dinners.

Great patio and service. Grabbed dinner with a friend recently. We went during a weeknight and seating was easy. The meters on the adjacent street don't require payment after 6 btw and there is plenty of street parking so don't worry. We got the bruschetta to start. You can mix and match. Then I had the ahi tuna salad. All was amazing. I also had a glass....maybe two of the sangria. Yum! Go here!

Ambiance and service was great! We showed up a little close to closing but they still took care of us regardless. Definitely recommend!

Some friends and I were visiting Austin and ran across this restaurant in our research and were able to get a reservation for a Saturday night (made 2 weeks in advance). Great location, vibe, and the perfect patio. We had a party of 6. Service was efficient and the food was excellent with a wide variety to choose from. Their charcuterie and bruschetta trio/flights (unique menu item) were amazing. We shared these with each other at the table. A couple friends shared a pepperoni pizza, one friend had the spicy asian noodles, I had the roasted chicken, and a couple girls shared a couple other appetizers. My chicken was fabulous, tender, and tasty. My friend's asian noodles definitely lived up to their spicy name... which is why I didn't go with this choice. They have wine flights but I prefer white wine the most and their flight option for white wine was not my preference so I just had a couple glasses.

*Great* food (don't miss the bruschetta trio), excellent wine, good service, and lovely ambiance. This is a great place to spend outside on a nice evening.

Parking was a pain, but fortunately it was Sunday, we didn't have to pay for street parking. The place has a really nice ambience, feels a little fancier than your casual restaurant. The servers were nice. Food was great! We ordered a shrimp and sausage pasta which was so delicious with a hint of spice. Pasta was cooked well, and coated well with the sauce. One of the best pastas I've had in awhile! I also ordered a medium bbq chicken pizza and it was a good portion. Bbq sauce was a little sweeter than I would've liked it to be, but the onions gave it a good crunch, and they were generous with the chicken pieces! Overall a little pricey but the good food was worth it!

This is a staple every time I come to Austin now. Absolutely love this place! Pizza & pasta are amazing. Chicken sandwich is incredible. Great priced wine flights & great vibe.
