"The Grove’s mini-chain of comfy, living room–style restaurants puts out good soups, salads, and sandwiches, as well as oversized chocolate chip cookies. Nearly half a dozen salads arrive in sizable wooden bowls, and fan favorites include the Berkeley Bowl loaded with chickpeas, avocado, and green goddess dressing; as well as a meaty cobb with brined chicken, applewood bacon, and blue cheese vinaigrette." - Paolo Bicchieri, Eater Staff

"The Grove - Yerba Buena: We plan to re-open. Opened January, 2010. By this time, we were living about 5 blocks from this location. When the financial crisis of 2008/9 occurred, and SF had sort of come to a stop, we wanted to be here and signed the lease in 2009. Everyone we knew thought we were nuts! We still walk to work there. We put a grove of trees, 3 from there Grand Canyon and from Utah here. Excellent landlord relationship." - Eve Batey

I had a nice experience at The Grove in Yerba Buena, but a few details could have been better. First off, they provide paper straws, which unfortunately lessened the experience as it broke down over time. Would have preferred a more durable option. On the bright side, the Bloody Mary had fantastic flavor! Served in a very large glass, but a tip: eat the garnishes first, or you'll be fishing them out from the bottom. The eggs Benedict was delicious! The only downside was the bread—it was a bit tough to cut into, but overall, a solid meal. Would definitely return for the food, but some improvements could elevate the overall experience.

This place has a wow factor fun the moment you step in, in terms of vibe and decor. Really a neat and cozy place to eat, have a coffee, play a game of chess or backgammon. Fun! The avocado toast was delicious, just bit on the soggy side for me. The rosemary hash browns were incredibly tasty, just also a touch soggy. The apple wood bacon was quite good, as was the vanilla latte. All in all, definitely a place I would return to, and try some of their other delicious sounding menu items!!

this place was great BEFORE, now they only have a fresh squeezed orange juice for me to go. Breakfast sandwich doesn’t taste like anything chimichurri on the side taste weird& way sugary. burritos is so blend and soggy on the bottom. They look fancy but not worth to go anymore. Definitely not bang for the buck!

Went here twice and it was great both times. Didn’t love the Avocado toast but I think most people would enjoy it!

Truly fantastic breakfast- had the French toast which was awesome w/ side of bacon and those delicious rosemary hash browns. The ordering was easy at the counter and the coffee came on a plate in cup. Love the look and atmosphere inside with it's vaulted ceilings. Thank you for the great experience.

We are there twice at the our last visit in San Francisco. On the first visit we got the pastrami sandwich which was great. It got us to go there again. On the second visit we were very disappointed. Avocado toast- thinnest layer of avocado you could think of. Shame to even put it out this was and charge $18 for it. The Burrito was soggy to the point we couldn’t hold it. Got to mention to we complained about the burrito and they replaced it for us. Over all- great location, great service, not so great food

I love their freshly squeezed orange juice and their lavender tea! I had the vegetarian sandwich. It was pretty good! I absolutely loved their side salad! It was so fresh and the dressing was amazing. My friend tried their Portobello burger and liked it too.

Absolutely one of our favorite restaurants! We come every time we get the chance! Prime Rib & a Mixed Berry Crisp make for a perfect dinner! The bonus is when we get to see Abel…he greets at the door with a smile every time!!!😊
