"The Hadley, located on the bottom floor of an old apartment building right off 676, looks like Don Draper’s office but smells like a retirement home. The menu has things like steak, potatoes, and “flatbreads” that we’re not convinced aren’t frozen pizzas. Aside from a drink at the bar or a Happy Hour snack, there’s really no reason for you to come here." - Sydney McElwee

*See Review updates further down* We live in the area and received a birthday surprise from my wife's coworkers. We could have ordered a take-out but we wanted to enjoy the outdoor seating. Just to comment about that, the atmosphere and the background music is so chill and relaxing. Sitting there really eases you. Onto the food, we ordered a Salmon roll and the Gnocchi and some drinks. The presentation was very well done for the food and the sushi was really great and so was the Gnocchi. I couldn't stop thinking about how impressed I was. We were very relaxed at the end of our meal we came home happy. Definitely make yourself a reservation and try The Hadley experience. *We booked again on Valentines Day(2021) with indoor dining store at low capacity. Eating inside felt very romantic and relaxed. their meal selection was easy and the food was cooked so delectably we even splurged to enjoy a couple desserts. Again, my wife and I had a great experience with the Hadley. **Came in with some friends for Brunch (July 2021) It was a beautiful day to eat outside and try their meals.

We had Tyler as our server and he hooked us up! Bottomless mimosas for brunch with lots of delicious food. The hangover special sandwich was so good. It comes with a refreshing side salad and nicely seasoned potatoes. The breakfast pizza was also great. Nice atmosphere, good music, and fantastic menu.

Our first indoor dining experience since March and have to say it was worth every single savory bite and more importantly time spent with good company. We were with another family and were able to split to into two tables of kids and adults. Perfect considering the indoor restrictions and accommodating for a party of 7. FYI- We were outdoors originally but the kids were frightened by the lantern bugs. Since there was no one inside the restaurant at the time we took full advantage of the mid-century modern look. I have to say the ambience both inside and out is certainly enjoyable. Front of the house service was world-class with our last-minute requests and sincerely appreciate the full attention. Our server was beyond stellar and extremely patient with us since he knew this was out first indoor dining experience since March. He was with mask at all-times as well with his peers. As for the food, the ricotta gnocchi was al dente & creamy-cheesy. If you like gnocchi don't think twice about ordering. My wife ended with salmon & asparagus as well as our friend. The fish was super fresh and they scraped the plate. Most of the kids and one adult all got Green Bowls and just see the love they out into this dish. Again, not one dish needed a take home bag. My daughter ended up with the best grilled cheese and tomato soup combination who selfishly didn't even give me a bite to eat. We preceded out meals with fried pickles, crispy brussel and tuna tatare, served with their fresh bread. Simply delicious 😋 Kudos to Hadley for our first breaking of bread with friends indoor and thank you for the amazing hospitality despite all that is going on. I highly recommend this restaurant and beautiful setting.

Upon entering the Hadley, we were greeted by the hostess in the front and were seated a few minutes before our reservation. The glasses at our table didn’t look clean and we did request new ones which still didn’t meet expectations so we just didn’t drink from the water glasses at all. The seats had crumbs which we removed ourselves and the table also didn’t look like much attention was given to it before we were seated. We brushed the crumbs away ourselves. The music was good. A little loud but good. There was a live DJ. He played a little of everything and certainly had me rocking out with him for a bit. He did a good job from my perspective. The tables and chairs did appear new. The overall indoor space appeared to be well kept. We were given a dining menu when we were seated but had to request a cocktail menu. There weren’t mimosa options anywhere on the menu we received but the mimosas were definitely flowing at the other tables so they are an option. We ordered “The Midnight Magic.” The drink was “ok” but definitely nothing to write home about. Our food arrived timely. I played it safe with the traditional eggs and potatoes and dear husband got the hangover sandwich without the meat since he’s pescatarian. The food was fresh and well plated but cold. It wasn’t even warm. It was as if it had been sitting for a minute but since the food didn’t take long to come out, I doubt this was the case. Our sever did what he could to be attentive. He checked in just enough but wasn’t a bother. He wasn’t the one to seat us so I won’t blame him for the table and chairs not being properly cleaned. All in all, the Hadley wasn’t a huge disappointment but unfortunately they aren’t on our lists of places we’d visit twice. It’s unfortunate because we did see a lot of potential there.

Since my best friend was in town for the day, we wanted to get Sunday brunch and I decided to check this place out since it's not too far from my apartment and I hadn't been here before. Upon arriving, we were immediately seated (we chose indoor seating since it was kind of windy and a little cool out). Every staff member we interacted with was extremely polite and friendly and very attentive during our dining experience. The vibe and decor in the restaurant was very cute - sort of a chic, old/modern ambiance. In terms of the food... I ordered the Bacon Burrito but with Turkey Bacon, and my best friend ordered the Buttermilk Pancakes plain (with no chocolate chips in them), a side of Breakfast Potatoes and a side of Bacon. The food was good, nothing extraordinary but we had no complaints about the food either. I would consider going back to maybe try some of the other brunch platters and do the bottomless brunch special.

Overhyped. There are way better restaurants with more food/drinks options and better service than here. We gave them a try for Saturday Brunch after researching and reading some reviews so decided to come check it out for myself. Very bland menu. Not a lot of choices. Waited about 45 minutes for our food. Maybe they were understaffed due to COVID. The restaurant is nicely decorated and clean, I will say that much. The service was horrible. Our server Jason was not attentive at all and had an attitude the whole time as if we were asking for an arm or a leg whenever I asked for a refill on my “already paid for” bottomless mimosa. The avocado toast (pictured below) is literally a slice of regular bread with half an avocado sliced. No garnishes, no pepper flakes, no salt, pepper nothing just the bread & plain sliced avocado toast. The eggs Benedict were okay, nothing to brag about. Wish I would’ve tried the burrito or the French toast, maybe that would’ve been a better choice then the avocado toast.

I love the ambiance and the decor here. The inside and outdoor spaces are beautifully put together. We came for happy hour cocktails and food. I had the Margherita Flatbread, and my S.O. had the Buffalo wings. The food was delicious, and the cocktails were balanced and outstanding. They had a DJ for a few hours on Friday night which is a plus 😁

Went here with a lot of expectations from reading an article on Eater Philly. First, it was a bit of a challenge to find in thr dark. We were looking for signs but there werent any except for the parking boards outside. The resto is inside or annexed to an apartment building basically so just look for the East tower entrance. The decor was kind of reminiscent of a mod 50s~60s lux hotel. The host offered to seat us at the "chef's table" but really, it's more of a kitchen door table. It's so clanky and noisy you can barely hear the person next to you. It's also in the very back of the restaurant so you feel like you're being tucked away and hidden in the corner. We eventually moved tables because we couldnt stand the constant clanking of dishes and instructions being shouted out. Our 2nd table was a booth and was very nice. Our server seemed quite frazzled and unorganized. She was very sweet and nice but just kind of "off her game?" We had to repeat our order each time multiple times. There is no cocktail menu but there were the specials for the night (that our server struggled to explain) which, I thought was odd seeing what kind of feel restaurant was shooting for. Lux resto with no cocktail menu??..?? The bread was cold and stale. The food was not bad but not good enough for the price. The miso glazed cod was actually the redeeming grace. Hence, the extra star on this review. If it werent for the cod, this would be a 2 star review. The filet mignon was just alright. The meat was a bit dry and tough but the sauce was good. The mashed potatoes were cold so we asked to get another plate of just potatoes which ended up being fine. The grand marnier creme brulee was too thick and cakey. I mean.. I could make it like that at home myself.. Overall this restaurant is shooting for something that's hard to achieve given the location and quality of food. The menu also isnt that interesting. I didnt really see anything that popped at me other than the cod and steak. The staff is nice, very willing to learn, and ask our advice so I hope things get better. But I wouldnt recommend this place or go again simply because the prices are just way too high for what it has to offer. I left this whole meal thinking: " We could have made this at home with the same (dare I say better) quality."
