Love the food here, I am always excited to get some on my way to LA. I saw that the menu has grown, and the items look yummy.

Quality control and customer service here is so bad, it’s ridiculous. I ordered a platter plus a family meal. They were supposed to give me 12 white sauce and 7 hot sauce, they gave me 2 of each. There was no onions and green pepper for my family meal, and no pita bread for my platter. It’s all over the place. They don’t check before giving it to me, and when I called them after I got home, they didn’t offer me anything at all to compensate me for their mistake. I had to go back to get what was missing, and they offered nothing at all. Imagine your family is waiting for the food, and then everyone is disappointed by all that was missing. Also I feel corporate is making bad decisions like making the hot sauce not hot anymore. Before 3 drops was all I needed for 1 platter, and now I use the entire packet, and it’s not spicy. Might as well use my own hot sauces. It’s so bad.

The food is ready quickly and the order accuracy is typically on point. The French fries are TO DIE FOR when properly salted. The baklava can be better - it's too wet with honey but still very tasty. It's a healthy meal that I try to get once a week. Good stuff, great staff!

This is the best Halal guys I have ever went to. I went to a lot of them, but this is the only one that I had the best experience people are welcoming. They’re smiling they give me extra wings. And Diego. Was the best staff member. I have never seen somebody taking care of customers like this. I’m definitely gonna always go to the Costa Mesa location.

Generous portions! I recommend to pay $4 more to extra meat, and I also recommend to wait to say extra meat AFTER they have already put the first layer of meat. Restaurant was very clean and staff were quite kind.

I waited in line for my online order at pick up behind someone else as the cashier/food server helped him first but then the server walked away from me to help a female walking in placing an order. As i had had to wait for both of them in front of me, the server offered extra sauces to both of them but when she gave me my online order not only did she not offer me extra sauces, she just gave me one small single hot sauce packet. Then when i drove home and took out my $100 order out of the two bags, it was incorrect.

We went here after a night at the beach. I had this before in SF but still wanted to check this one out. I got the combo platter with chicken and beef. I saw some complaints on here about the portions but I'ma a big dude and it was definitely enough for me. My wife got the sandwich and fries. Everything worked out. I would return if in the area.

A good branch location, probably the best I've been to. The food and service here is all good. The best things to order here has to be the bowls and french fries. The fries here are pretty top notch. The white sauce they put on the bowl dishes is fantastic too. The falafel here is really good and crispy too.

I happened to be in the area and decided to give this spot a try. The guy behind the counter recommended a combo platter. I opted for a large platter with lettuce, tomatoes, rice, bell peppers, and onions. I chose chicken and beef for my protein, and for a dollar more I added humus and olives. The final toppings included jalapeños and white sauce. Overall, it was pretty tasty, even though I thought their chicken was a bit bland. But the beef was terrific. Their scoop of rice was HUGE, so if you want to stay off the carbs, opt for just lettuce and tomatoes. I was reassured that this was a primo spot when I saw several local cops come in on their lunch break.

Came in on a friday afternoon and was immediately greeted by the staff in a friendly manner. They were very professional and I received my food instantaneously. The food was solid and well priced. Would come again.

Attentive and friendly staff. Not too busy around 7PM on a weeknight. It's in a great shopping center, next to Capital Noodle Bar, 7Leaves, and even came across this Japanese Cheesecake spot. Definitely more of a fan these days: delicious blend of rice, chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, topped with (EXTRA) the savory creamy white sauce. Staff are GENEROUS with the sauce! Thank you!! For once, a dining venue that doesn't charge you $1-$5 for sauce! Hospitality at its finest and customers like myself, we appreciate it!! Mind you, it's my first meal of the day, at dinner, so I was a bit famished on this particular visit, and it was really more flavorful and delicious than previous visits. *Their baklava is one of my favorites too. Definitely grab one for the road.

Ordered to go and have eaten here several times but never had this problem. Had a hard piece of plastic in my shawarma plate which is very disappointing because I really do like the food here.

All I could say is what happened to this place he used to be an amazing spot. We used to go there all the time there's nothing Middle Eastern about it anymore. Absolutely one star.

It's been forever since I've been here and it's just as good as usual. The halal guys has such a distinctive flavor that can't be duplicated even though companies try!! The white sauce and red sauce and rice make the meal. Service here is also really good (even on Christmas Eve when we came!)

Service was great however food not so much. It was packed down but a sloppy mess and pita bread was hard maybe stale. Unfortunately, I won't be back Fresh off boat and The Great Greek is way better.

The food here is great. It's a cafeteria style setting but they have the falafels down to a science. If you mention you're vegan they're careful to avoid animal products. Service is always efficient and friendly.

Hot sauce is extremely hot for the inexperienced. Always get extra white sauce is a must

I've been to other Halal Guys and they're usually about a seven or eight out of ten. The sandwich in these pics gets maybe a three or a four. The fries were ok but the pita was stale and broke apart as soon as I picked it up. The veggies inside were good but the falafel itself was super dry. I was surprised they only put in 3 pieces but whatever. It'll be awhile before I go back to The Halal Guys. Hope this helps.

The gentleman working were very kind, and sncei were attending a very important convention were pressed 4 time. The store was very clean and our orders were made on point. The food was well cooked and the presentation of the meals was awesome..thank u 4 the awesome lunch. And on another permission note, Will was very polite and kind. He was very well informed of all the food and different combos on the menu board. Will is doing a great job...and deserves a raise!!!

Halal Guys is worth the hype! Very flavorful and delicious! The chicken and gyro bowl I got was very balanced, as it had the protein, rice, lettuce and creamy sauce topping. The red sauce is quite spicy, so definitely be careful. They ask how many "lines" of the spicy sauce you want and when I asked for all over, they had to double check that I knew how spicy it was-- so that definitely tells you how spicy it is (but I love a spicy bowl)! Also the portion is fairly large, and I only ended up eating half in one sitting.

It's a great eat, but a cost of a platter is way too much to circulate as a weekly lunch option. 16$ for a platter. 2 small scoops of meat. Nevertheless, I am full.

Visited for the first time today. Walked in and the 2 ladies were very welcoming. The menu was a bit hard to understand for me, so it took me a while to figure out what & how to order. I ordered a sandwich, which was a pita. I ordered it the way they make it. Service was nice & fast. They had 2 meats on the vertical cooker, but not shaving from it, instead they had meat I guess already cut in a warmer where they served from. Anyway the meat on the vertical cooker looked discolored and tasteless. The presentation of the food wasn't all inviting me to eat it, but I was hungry so I took a bite. Pita had lots of lettuce, meat looked weird, different shapes & sized chunks of chicken with no taste & dry. I ate this with the sauce that they put on top of my pita, no other sauces were added. Not impressed & probably wouldn't return. Besides the service, I would say the price was on point for what you get and how it tastes. This to me was fast food Mediterranean style, not my liking.

Extremely underwhelming. Food was just average, no flavor. Chicken we overcooked and pita bread was flavorless. I would not spend more than $5 on this and it cost $14 :(

This is the second time I've ordered online and they forgot my sauce. The food is decent, but it's better with the white sauce and hot sauce. Really disappointing. Reminder to check your take out orders before leaving the area.

Used to come here a lot back in the day. Shawarma is no longer real chicken. It's some processed ground gray clump you see on the rotisserie. Absolute lack of flavor and so extremely salty. I got a backlava too for old times sake and it was not refrigerated and was probably sitting out for weeks. Tasted old and smelled funky. Major disappointment for a 20$+ meal. I'm muslim and like to support halal restaurants but this was disgusting.

First time here and great experience. Good tasting food and the beef and chicken gyros are the best! Quick service and very friendly. They also give you generous portions which is a plus for me

I try to stop in when I'm in town. The food is good & fresh. If it's your first time, the friendly employees will help you out. Parking is decent during the week but can be difficult on weekends, as it's shared with the other businesses in the plaza.

The food was ok. I feel like the quality of the meat is not as good as other Mediterranean restaurants. Service was great. The employees are very helpful and patient when ordering. The ambiance is good. The restaurant looked clean while dining in.

I didn't snap any photos, I was that hungry. However, the food here is amazing as expected. I love Halal guys in NYC but the line in OC isn't nearly as long which makes it a win! Our food was finished pretty quickly and packed to the rim. I highly recommend Halal guys, they're the real deal. I love the white sauce & Tahini!

Ambience: typical for a fast food place, which I was hoping for a mom and pop place. Service: They were quick, forgiving when I didn't want rice. Always looking for friendly employees, they could improve with a smile or two. Food: It was good, but not really the flavors I expected. The spicy meat was like soup y bbq sauce mixed in the meat and a bit sweeter than I imagined for Mediterranean cuisine. The rice looked more like Mexican spicy rice and was quite puffy. I love this type of food, so I've been to a lot from fast food to high end, and I just didn't feel like I ate the right type of food. And the fancy sauce they hyped about, "White Sauce" came in a package and was more like mayonnaise.

Friendly staff, quick service restaurant. We visited on a weekday, I believe it was a Thursday and there weren't any customers there for dinner, but it could be because we came early. We got there around 5 p.m. and were greeted right away by the friendly staff. It was our first time visiting, so the staff helped us by explaining how the menu works. We got one bowl with beef and all the fixings which was more than enough for my husband and I to share. The amount of sauce they give you on the side is of great portions. I will say, be careful of the red sauce. We love spicy food, but this kick way whew! Different. One start dock as the meat was a little on the dry end and not as flavorful as other restaurants I've tried before. Other than that, everything else was great! Overall great atmosphere and clean establishment. Thank you Halal team for the hospitality.

Horrible service, feels like the dmv People working there are very rude and rush you. The food was beyond horrible, their falafel was very bad. Oily and burnt and it doesn't taste like falafel. Won't ever step a foot there!!!! Very disappointed

I used to come here a lot a few years ago and the quality is just about as good as I remember it. It's a really solid spot overall and it never disappoints. I always get the combo platter and it hits the spot. Service is always good as well. Warning- the red sauce is pretty hot so be careful with how much you put in! I always ignore my warning and go overboard (it's worth it to me)

We are so happy to find The Halal Guys in this area! Store is clean and staff was so friendly! The food was delicious with a generous amount. The food was fresh as well. Was a little cautious seeing the negative reviews but we are so glad we took a chance. We will definitely return!

Their prices have gone up since I last went but at least the quality is still there. I always get the regular combo bowl with everything on it. White sauce in the end and a packet of their special hot red sauce on the side. I love how juicy the chicken is, I like dipping the pita bread in the white sauce. I love mixing the whole plate so I get some lettuce and tomatoes with each bite. I think I've developed a high tolerance to heat over the past years. I remember trying their spicy red sauce for the first time and I could only handle 5 little blobs of it. Now I went through more than half a packet! Yum!

This is the second time I've ordered from here for my co workers. We ordered two chicken plates with extra tomatoes and jalapeños please! I purchased side of jalapeno and paid $2.99 and got a a to go container instead!

I was actually craving something creamy, so I got some halal guys. I didn't get anything creamy that I wanted cuz they forgot to give me white sauce AND hot sauce when I got my order Togo. $17 for a half chicken half beef combo that they didn't even tell me was an additional cost.. not cool Yes, I got red pepper hummus (extra dollar $1), but shouldn't they ask if I want the white and red sauce togo? The service was friendly, just this error is sad when you're craving. They gave me a fork tho.. They do wear masks which is appreciated, but you can also hear maybe 50% of what they're saying cuz of it ^^; I've been to other places where the people wear masks and you can hear them fine What is halal guys without the sauce? I was starving and didn't want a burger and this popped up on Yelp, thank goodness! The service was quick and friendly, and the inside was spotless. I got the small combo plate and that was more than enough to save some for lunch the next day. Glad I ordered an extra pita. Overall I think this will be my go to spot when the fast food chains just don't sound good.

I actually had never tried Halal Guys prior to this. For my first experience, it was pretty darn good. Parkinf was easy. There was no wait for getting dinner. The sauce is just too bomb, I need a tub of it to take home. I need to ask them to put more next time because I loved it. In my opinion, they could work on their meat portions as they're on the smaller side, but besides that I really had no complaints. Love filling my bowl up with all their yummy tommings. Prices are right. Legitness.

Personally don't really understand the hype. It's an easy pick up fast food type of place. However, nothing about the food would really make me want to come back.

Today I came in about 15 minutes before closing, I was greeted by a gentleman by the name of Brian and he took my order! He asked me If I wanted extra add ons I politely said no. The food was absolutely amazing and delicious, I recommend the chicken. They did have semi-loud music playing, it had a good video to the place! This is byfar the best halal place is OC.

One of my favorite Mediterranean spots! The beef tastes great and their white sauce is delicious! Great for a keto diet as well. I usually get double salad instead of rice which makes it healthier. Service was very fast and they were really nice. Lots of to go orders but they were preparing the food very fast and didn't wait that long. Highly recommended!

Came in today and got great service from will and irari I hope I spelled that right. You know who you are lol. Seem to really enjoy their job and being their. I feel like it helps the food taste better. (: Thanks for the service guys and keep up the good work.

Halal Guys is a good option if you want a relatively healthy quick lunch or dinner. Location/Parking: This location shares a plaza with other food places like Uncle Tetsu and Dough and Arrow. Because of that, parking can be busy at peak times but I've always found a spot. Ordering: Halal Guys can get busy at lunch hour so I usually order online through the app (since there's a rewards program). Otherwise, you can come in to build your bowl. My go-to order consists of a small half chicken and half beef gyro bowl with extra lettuce for no additional charge ($11.99). Bowls usually also come with rice, pita bread, tomatoes, their signature white sauce, and hot sauce. Their signature white sauce is very good with the bowl but their hot sauce is really, really spicy. You can also add onions, green peppers, jalapeños, and for an extra charge, olives. Overall: If I don't know what to eat, I'll opt for Halal Guys. The bowls are filling and can be relatively healthy (if you skip the white sauce, but it's so good!).

Was not a gyro. No lamb. It was more like shredded beef. Smallest quantity and then a giant portion of fluorescent orange rice. No tzatziki sauce just a white cream sauce.

Brian, Diego, Ramon were awesome. Best crew in the house! Great service! I walked in a minute before closing and they still served us. Thank you very much.

UCI Housing gave BOGO coupons for Halal Guys and my friends went awfffff we would come to this very location every week (yes, because it was delicious but we were also broke college students) until we finally got tired of it -- have not eaten at Halal Guys since LOOOL But yes, taste and quality is great! The employees work fast and the first bite is always the best. I can't even handle a single drop of the hot sauce it's actually daunting you'll hate yourself but some people love ruining their bowels ! lol ! The tin foil is so cute for to-go becos I can never really finish that whole plate in one sitting

Anytime I am near a Halal Guys, I have to try it! I remember eating Halal Guys off of the 53rd and 6th every day when I was there for 2 weeks, 10 years ago....that fresh off the grill, white sauce, and red sauce. Oh the memories. But especially the jokes and customer service you get with the people at the cart, especially at 2am! Fatima's customer service was just what I expected from the Halal Guys! She was friendly, enthusiastic and happy with the customer before and after me. It wasn't just to an indecisive pregnant person! With so many choices than what I remembered from 10 years ago...from the cart, I wasn't sure what I wanted. She made sure I got everything that just hit the spot! Even though the food hit the spot, but I do miss the meat directly off the grill instead of being warmed, but I get it is easier to serve in a rush with it prepped and assembled. Will definitely come back here and hope Fatima is there to serve again!

I wish this location can be consistent with the portion they give to their customers. Years ago they would give a good amount of rice and protein for the regular platter but lately I've noticed either they give less protein and rice. Hit and miss with this location. I

I can't believe I've never been to the Halal Guys but wow was it delicious and I didn't feel guilty eating everything. I had a nice and healthy combination platter with the beef gyro and chicken. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. I was asked if I wanted hot sauce and I love spicy. I chose 4 lines of hot sauce and it was nice and spicy!! Absolutely delicious and can't wait to go again!
