The Hampton Social - Review - River North - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Spending the summer in the Hamptons is a great way to live. Who doesn’t want to stay in fancy beach houses, sip rosé, and eat all of the lobster rolls? The Hamptons life is awesome. But pretending to live the Hamptons life in a Chicago restaurant is not awesome. And while The Hampton Social has a few uses, it can also be the worst place ever. They serve the kind of summery food you might expect, like a watermelon and tomato salad, New England clam chowder, lobster rolls, and crab cakes. And then some things that you probably wouldn't expect, like pizzas, some sandwiches, and a serious entree section we wouldn’t touch. None of it is very good. None of it is very bad. None of it is worth the prices. But The Hampton Social is often crowded, and it's because people like the concept. The beach and boat theme decor make Hampton Social aesthetically pleasing, and we’ll admit it’s a nice place to sit. But there’s a fine line between ironically and seriously being at Hampton Social, so here’s our advice for how to treat this place. Do get drinks at Hampton Social. Do grab brunch if you’re looking for something casual. Do go for a girls night out if the goal is to sit somewhere pretty and have fun. Do not expect great food. Do not wear your finest Hamptons outfit - no, you can't wear that sweet new fedora you bought. And please, do not take a picture in front of the “Rosé All Day” neon sign and think it’s original. Do go to the real Hamptons if you have the chance. Don’t be the *sshole who thinks hanging out at The Hampton Social makes you cool. RESERVE A TABLE WITH RESERVE A TABLE Food Rundown Brunch We're not going to do a formal rundown here because one thing is not particularly better than the other. That said, brunch is the best time to go, and lean towards something basic like an egg sandwich, waffles, or lobster roll. Dinner If you end up at dinner here keep it simple. We'd stay away from the entrees. Stick with appetizers, salads, pizzas, and maybe a sandwich or a Main-style lobster roll for dinner. Try not to get sucked into spending entirely too much money on the food." - Sam Faye

Where to eat lobster rolls in Chicago - Eater Chicago

"Rosé and lobster roll all day like a New York elite. Guests have two types to choose from as they live their best Hamptons lives. The classic Maine-style roll is chilled and tossed in mayo while “Manhattan style” goes heavy on butter. Additional Hampton Social outposts are located in Streeterville and the suburbs." - Jeffy Mai

20 Great Places to Drink Rosé All Day in Chicago

"The Hampton Social echoes the casual, beachy vibes of the Hamptons in Long Island, New York. Decorated with nautical swag and proffering a seafood-centered bill of fare, there’s certainly no shortage of pink drinks. From peachy frosé to a rotating selection of rosés (some of which are also sold via 1.5L, 3L, and 6L) like Whispering Angel and Domaines Ott, this is ground zero for boozy brunch." - Kat Odell

Service and atmosphere is UNPARALLELED!! I feel bad I didn't remember my waiter's name because I eat out several times a week, but he was EXCEPTIONAL! Gave really helpful SPOT-ON advice concerning the options on the drink menu. And about the drinks? AMAZING! I could tell that the margarita and mojito I ordered were made with quality ingredients because the flavor was so vibrant and fresh.. Incredible and stiff too, no watered down nonsense that is overpriced. Their smashburger and truffle fries were DELICIOUS as well and the 1/2 shell East Coast-origin oysters fresh and superbly briny, just the way I usually Iike—again a wise choice that was only possible after his thorough description of the difference in palate profile characteristics. The ambiance exuded major spa-like retreat vibes and even had a live folk rock type musician. Everything about the atmosphere encouraged chill-ax mode. Hope to visit again when in the area! But in the meantime, I highly recommend to others!

Google
I’m originally from the Chicagoland area so it’s been on my list for visit this place when I came back home. Can I just say this place did not disappoint . I came with my sisters for brunch & the food was sooooooo good. Food 10/10 Service was great as well. The drinks were ok but everything else was so good, it didn’t matter much . Can’t wait to visit the location in Atlanta.

Went here on Ash Wednesday. We didn't have expectations we were just craving for some seafood. They had it and we were delightfully surprised! It's great food! We had some calamari, salmon, and lobster roll i believe.

Google
I finally popped into The Hampton Social for a quick lunch. The lunch menu seemed a bit grand. There are no small orders here. I settled on the battered cod fish sandwich with a side salad. It was large and delicious. Very delicious. The batter was light and the melted cheddar was uniformly fabulous. As was the side salad my aspirational self had subbed for the French fries. I don’t know why she made an appearance but there it was. The people next to me got fries. They looked great. The service was quick and pleasant. Midweek lunch was a great time to try it out. Not too crowded and really relaxing by the windows. The only reason I’m not giving it a 5 is because the prices seemed a bit high for a lunch menu. But knowing what I know now, would I return? Definitely.

Google
I stopped in for a quick lunch found paid on the street parking close and easily (got lucky). The serve the lobster roll hot or cold. Very good! Came out fast.the place was very lively, upbeat pop music, mixed crowd, welcoming energy for black folks. The general manager introduced himself and ensured my experience was exceptional. Would be nice if Waitress mentioned happy hour or was not on the physical menu. I found it on the digital one. Paying was very easy through the QR code you can even split your own bill. Gratuity is included. Overall 10 out of 10. Upscale energy very casual vibes. I will return soon!

Google
Amazing overall. This place is truly stunning. Located in river north, it has lots of good food options. I had a amazing smash burger and clam chowder. The experience and ambience is a must see in Chicago. I have also been coming here since I was like 4, so over the years each time I come it gets better and better! Come see this!

Google
I heard great things about this place so I wanted to check it out. I ordered a chicken sandwich and house chips. The sandwich was delicious but I wish it came with fries instead of the chips. The fries would have been an upcharge of $10 so I opted not to buy them. The live music was good but a little louder than I expected. Overall it wasn't bad experience and I would try it again. Maybe when it's warmer and the patio is open.

Google
The food is delicious and the cocktails are fantastic. Most can be made into mocktails too! Highly recommend Crispy Coconut Tofu and the Coastal Sunrise (great as a mocktail)

Yelp
This place didn't feel like Chicago. Definitely got Hampton vibes! I love the location & how open it was inside. It's a huge venue for a big gathering with so many cool seating areas and even a swing! Right when I walked in I immediately thought to myself, I want to come back and bring my mom here.

Yelp
Came here last night after our Christmas party with my girls! I was super excited to get the lobster roll because it's always delicious. I had hoped to sub the chips that come with it for truffle fries, even with an upcharge, but the waitress said that wasn't possible. Always do this every time I order or come to this restaurant and it's never been an issue. My friend and I decided to split an order of truffle fries from the appetizer menu instead. Since we ordered the fries separately, I asked if I could substitute the chips for a different side, and she said I could swap them for a side salad. However, she failed to mention there would be an additional charge for that, which was frustrating when the check came. Had I known about the extra cost upfront, I might have ordered differently. To make things worse, our truffle fries were cold, which was disappointing. On the bright side, the guy who brought us our food suggested hot garlic butter for our lobster rolls, and that was an awesome touch--it really elevated the dish. Overall, I feel like I just caught them on a bad night. The food and experience are usually better, so I'm hoping next time will be back to their usual standard.

Yelp
I came here for brunch on the weekend. The restaurant is really cute and well-decorated! It's a great place to meet up with a group (the music was a little loud though). It wasn't crowded at all and it was no issue to have no reservation even during a popular time. My favorite item was the monkey bread--YUM! The pecans were delicious. Highly recommended. I wasn't too impressed with either the Ahi Tuna Bowl or the Espresso Martini, though. We also were charged for still water, so be sure you confirm whether you'll be charged for that. Our server was really friendly and knew the menu well. Also, note that the Hampton Social Streeterville location is very close by, and people can and will be confused by this if you plan to meet up here. Overall it wasn't my favorite but was a pretty good experience.

Yelp
Ate at Hampton social twice while in town for work. Really appreciated their healthier alternatives compared to other dishes while traveling. Food was all tasty and service decent. Ambiance was very nice as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Food and service both top notch. Sat at the bar and had great conversation with the bartender. Live music added a nice touch to the ambiance.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice vibes, lots of space. Good place for social hangouts. I got the lobster roll in Manhattan style, it was delicious but honestly way too expensive for the portion size. I had mine cut in half, but even then $29 for the whole thing is overpriced. Service was okay since it took us a while to get seated. But during the meal the service was fine.
google avatar

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Went hear as a coworkers dinner and will not be back lol. First, they don't have AC so the place was miserably hot. The waitress opened the windows but it was still stuffy. Service was also quite mid. We asked for ketchup with a dry burger and it took 20 minutes to come out. I ordered the lobster roll and shrimp tacos, both which were alright but definitely not worth the price, or even restaurant quality. I don't even mind paying the premium for good food, but the lobster roll genuinely tasted like I put a home cooked lobster in some Raising Cane's buns. It baffles me why this place is not empty.
google avatar

Laurina Y.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and actually quite liked it! It's a very different vibe for lunch but I think the dinner menu options are actually better. We got the crab cake to share and each got a lobster roll, which were both very good!

Yelp
I have never had a meal at Hampton social that I didn't love. Tried their pesto radiatori dish and absolutely loved it. Pesto was incredible and this dish was just right amount of food. Didn't feel heavy and enjoyed exploring their pasta finally. Bartenders are great. Was craving something but just didn't know what I wanted and bartender asked couple questions about preferences then put together a wonder habenero Paloma which I loved on a hot summer day. Great bar spaces and plenty of space in this restaurant. Great for small or big parties. Also this location has easy street parking near by.

Yelp
We had a very nice brunch here New Year's Day. This was our first time here. My husband got breakfast (eggs, bacon, hash browns, French toast) my daughter had the kids mac and cheese, and I had the avocado toast. We also split a lobster roll. Everything was very good. The ambiance was nice. Good music playing. It wasn't too noisy which I liked.our server was very nice and and overall service was good. The restaurant was clean and we had an overall good experience.

Yelp
This is a very nice place with great decor and ambiance. The food was well prepared and our server was delightful! We were a party of 10 and she didn't miss a beat. I wish I'd gotten her name so I could recognize her specifically in this review. I'm hopeful her management knows the gem they have in her! The only thing I'd warn a potential patron about is the noise level. There was a live performer there on Wednesday night and while he was very good, it made it hard to have conversation across our table. I'm not sure if that's a nightly thing or not so just be prepared. Otherwise, expect a clean, comfortable environment.

Yelp
Food came super quick and the chicken Caesar salad was delicious. It helped to hold down the drinks haha. super flavorful especially with the dressing. Truffle fries were perfectly crispy and warm. The calamari and sauces it came with were my favorite of the whole meal. Live music was super fun but a little loud since we were right at the bar. Fun and social spot!

Yelp
Love Hampton social! There was a time when almost all of my friends would have their birthday dinners at Hampton social. I find this very funny. The ambience is very fresh and maybe a bit too sailor themed? Lol, no complaints there though. Definitely makes you feel like you are in the Hamptons. The service is fast and the servers have almost always been nice. Love the food here too. The avocado corn pizza is sooo yummy. The creamed street corn is my absolute favorite. The crispy coconut taco is very delicious too. Oh, and my favorite part? The Rose All Day sign. :p

Yelp
Came for happy hour and it was one of the best places for cocktails. They had a variety of drinks and appetizers to choose from, and all sounded great. We sat at the bar upstairs and the bartender was great! The drinks were all different and some had edible glitter, which was my favorite. They had live music and he covered all the genres while having a chill and mellow beat. Great experience, definitely check it out for happy hour.

Yelp
Visited here for our New Year's dinner - thankfully they were one of the few restaurants who could accommodate with a last minute reservation. The restaurant itself was large with much space to seat patrons. For the table, I ordered the crispy quesadilla and for my meal, I ordered the short rib along with the "I Glitterally Can't" cocktail. The quesadilla was actually pretty good - enough to wet your whistle if you will. It was petite so keep in mind, only enough for 4 people to share a small piece. My short rib, however, was delicious specifically for the polenta. This was my first time having polenta and I have clearly developed a new favorite food item thanks to Hampton Social. Overall, an enjoyable experience.

Yelp
Wow! I'm so excited a friend recommended this place! We arrived at 10:45 on Saturday for our brunch, it was surprisingly not too busy, but we had a reservation and glad we did because it got busier- mainly larger groups for special brunch, it seemed! Everything was nicely themed in the coastal vibes with fun photo walls and a live guitarist at about 11:30! That was cool and unexpected. We had so much good food, and it was slightly pricier, but seafood usually is! We had the lobster roll (hot), upgraded to Parmesan Truffle Fries for a side, and had the Brussel sprouts and Crab and Shrimp Bruschetta. Everything was amazing, couldn't pick a fave! Definitely a lovely, delicious brunch!
google avatar

Yelp
Don't we all just love Hampton Social! Brunch on and Sunday here is like heaven. The ambience is always beautiful. Makes me feel as if I'm on vacation the service was top tier. My waiter was bomb! He had so much personality and was working it! Nothing but good vibes. We got oysters truffle fries which is always a good pair. And of course my go to which is the Gasby breakfast and it's to die for!! I rarely order anything else because I am hooked!
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
This place is so gorgeous inside. It's open air and very beachy. There are two walls that are great photo opps (rose all day, and life's a beach). The frose was absolutely delicious and hit the spot. The Brussels sprouts were fantastic. I didn't like the bruschetta but my friend loved it - you would if you like crab cakes. The pesto was delicious. I was on the fence about adding the shrimp and while I probably didn't need it, there was a ton of shrimp in it and the portions were big. The server was super attentive. He stopped by every 10-20 min. Big complaint: the place was way too warm. Fans wouldve helped? The bathroom wasn't even air conditioned and it was so hot and sticky. This place would be perfect in the spring and fall.
google avatar

Omar G.

Yelp
Definitely got the brunch vibes going with the beach/boat decorations and light color scheme. There was live music but honestly a bit too loud for a relaxed brunch atmosphere, everyone in my group mentioned how the volume was a bit overwhelming. Very impressed with how quickly our food came out. Fried chicken stack French toast is a bit dense and chewy as opposed to light and fluffy. Good flavor on the chicken and gravy. Chicken could be a bit more crispy Crab cake Benedict Great flavor on the crab cake love the extra flavors that come with the side ingredients! Only problem is egg came a tad over done. Other than that easily my favorite dish I tried here. Steak and eggs Seasoning was a bit unusual on the steak. Steak itself is cooked nicely. Lobster roll Lobster was cooked well. Could use a bit more butter but overall good flavor and texture. The roll also has a good garlic seasoning great addition to overall flavor. Only issue is portion sizing for price. I understand it is lobster but be prepared for a small portion size. Froze Cute looking drink but lacks in the flavor department Margarita Strong margarita definitely packs a punch

Yelp
I wanted to like this place, I really did. It's cute and New England coastal, But the food and drinks were average and the prices were higher than other places in the same area. We went in for a late lunch drink & some apps (this is a very common thing for us to do while on vacation). We ordered the non-alcohol rose (which was fun for our non-drinking family!) and a few rose sangrias. The sangria wasn't as good as I had expected, but was light for a hot summer day. We ordered the crab + shrimp bruschetta, the calamari and the tuna tartar. The bruschetta was the best of the 3 and I would order it again... but the price for apps was high at $21-25 a plate. Esp for the calamari which was unusually small.
google avatar

Yelp
What a super cute place for brunch in River North!! We had reservations at 1230, when we arrived we were greeted and sat right away and they were able to accommodate my request to sit by the Rosé all day sign(yay!). The entire inside was super cute, you definitely feel the hamptons vibe. I absolutely loved it. We tried to start with monkey bread but unfortunately they were sold out. We got the donuts instead and they were super yummy! I had the chicken stack(minus egg) and it was delicious! Others at the table had the breakfast burrito and the lobster roll. Everyone really enjoyed their meal! Overall we had a fun experience and we'll definitely keep it in mind next time we come to Chicago!
google avatar

Lexi M.

Yelp
Amazing spot with good food, fantastic service and beautiful ambiance. We booked reservations for two separate parties. Both for 8 people and when we got there, they were able to accommodate all of us sitting together. We were quickly greeted for our drink order as they could tell we could all use one or two. I ordered the "I Glitteraly Can't" and was so happy with my choice. It was a very sweet and fun cocktail and the flavor was perfect. Our table ordered Grilled Octopus, Crab+Shrimp Bruschetta, Coopers Beach Calamari, and the Scallop Ceviche. Everything tasted amazing, but I will say the grilled octopus had such an amazing flavor I could've ordered that for my meal. For dinner I ordered the Manhattan style Lovster Roll and was wowed by the buttery flavor and large pieces of lobster. When it was time to pay the bill, we gave the waiter 4 different cards, picked one and we all celebrated when he chose. When the check came out, the waiter brought out a drink and a firework to celebrate that our coworker won to pay the bill. The service here was absolutely unmatched and the food was devine. Such a great spot and I'm sure we will be back again.

Yelp
My husband and I live right down the street from this location and we decided to stop by on a Sunday evening for dinner. We made reservations to ensure that we had a spot but it wasn't too busy when we were there so if you walked in, I'm sure you would get seated right away, which is nice nowadays! Our server was really nice and very attentive to us during our dinner. We started off with the colossal crab cakes. We ordered two of them for an extra $5 and they were delicious! We both got a taco dish (my husband got the shrimp and I got the baja fish) and each came with three tacos, which were very filling. We both really liked our dishes so I would definitely recommend them if you're feeling tacos while you're there! There was live music when we were there, which was really cool, but it was a tad bit loud considering the type of atmosphere the restaurant had during dinnertime. Otherwise, we'll be back!
google avatar

Tara S.

Yelp
Ambiance is amazing but the food is meh. My friend and I both ordered the fish and chips and it wasn't worth the price. Probably will not return.

Yelp
came here for my 26th with a few of my girlfriends and it's always such a vibe! so many instagram opportunities and cute drinks (all the girlies know what i mean)
google avatar

Yelp
Came for pre gaming to the Bassment. Cool ambience, cool music and people. Not crowded at 10pm. Bar staff is attentive and friendly. Smash burger juicy and tasty with nicely toasted buns and pickles. Traded up for mac n cheese. It is soupy but has good flavor and some smoked Gouda or something smokey in it. Fries are yummy. Overall a 10. Been here before for a bday dinner that I don't much remember but this is a nice food experience.
google avatar

Abhishek M.

Yelp
I stopped by for a drink and sat at the bar to watch the game on a weeknight. Ordered an Old Fashion and Colossal Crab cake. Albeit pricey for using Evan Williams, the Old Fashion was well made. The crab cake was very tasty with a really flavorful 'sauce' and a little bit of well seasoned green salad that paired perfectly. Overall a solid dish, I just don't know if the word colossal did justice to the average size cakes .
google avatar

Joanne C.

Yelp
Very cute brunch place! The server was so kind and even helped us with adjusting the AC/Vent that was blowing on us! Monkey bread -- wow this monkey bread is soooooo good, I almost got full off it it. Great shareable option and worth the price! Denver Scramble -- the egg part of the dish tasted good but nothing too special. However, the HASH BROWNS I think were the best hash browns I've ever had, not joking at all. It was creamy and I loved it. Forgot to take a photo, but a heads up that the largest size for drinks comes in a literal gigantic clam shell. Make sure that if you're sharing, you're sitting close together because it is not easily share with the whole table.
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
Really great breakfast, cute hostess. Nice live music and bloody marys. The interior has sort of a Ralph Lauren coastal vibe to it. Interesting menu. Try to sit by the big windows...
google avatar

Keyin L.

Yelp
We came here with a large group of people and had a good time. We were able to reserve online pretty easily for a large group. The menu is pretty wide ranging and will have something for everyone. It was also easy to split the check at the end using the app they had.
google avatar

Candace W.

Yelp
I came here with a huge group recently, and enjoyed our brunch. The service was pretty quick and our server was very nice and attentive. I asked for a sausage add-on to my Hampton Caesar Salad and the kitchen accidentally gave me breakfast sausage (which isn't a huge deal at all), but our server was kind enough to comp the sausage add-on for me. Everyone enjoyed their food. Nothing spectacular or drool-worthy but definitely hit the spot for savory breakfast. The restaurant is super cute inside and very busy on the weekends around brunch time, so I would definitely recommend making a reservation! Overall: I would definitely go back for the nice ambiance and great service, but if you're looking for a unique, not busy, Chicago breakfast I would probably recommend somewhere else.
google avatar

Shelby C.

Yelp
This place is a vibe! Like literally you walk in and instantly feel like you're out of town. Think beach town vibes...light, airy, sunny. Live music and packed crowd. Visited for brunch and it did not disappoint. We sat by the window and the windows were opened and man the bees wouldn't leave us alone. We were moved no problem and proceed to indulge on a couple of drinks. I ordered the burger, while fries were kind of cold the burger did not disappoint and our server was adorbs ...so we went easy on him lol. My friend ordered the chicken sandwich with a side salad and again a phenomenal option. We split everything in half and shared our meals. Definitely looking forward to revisiting and trying other menu options.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch with a friend, I had the Maine style lobster roll ans they had the manhattan styke. We cut them in half and shared, so yummy. Their chips need salt but other than that, it was a great experience!

Yelp
The food at Hampton Social doesn't disappoint. I like the gooey cheesy hash accompanied with the Denver scrambled eggs.

Yelp
My wife and I had Monday, October 9th off, and decided to head into the city and have lunch with our son. He was not off, but had some time to meet us for lunch. He lives in River North and was working from home, so we wanted something convenient for him. We chose The Hampton Social, and I'm glad we did! The Hampton Social is located at 353 W Hubbard just across the street from the East Bank Club. When we walked in, I immediately had a good feeling about this place. It is a bright attractive space with a nautical theme. It was surprisingly busy for a Monday afternoon, but we had no problem getting a table. We started with the Crispy Quesadilla; it was rich and delicious! At our server's recommendation, I had the Shrimp Tacos. My wife had the Shelter Island Chicken Sandwich, and my son had a Smash Burger. Everything was very good and our server was excellent. I'm looking forward to my next visit. If you are in the area, I recommend stopping in.

Yelp
Hampton Social is an all around good time. The vibe is superb and the food is great. The atmosphere gives a chill beach feel. The cocktails are inventive and refreshing. I'm a huge fan of the Caesar Salad but I've yet to have bad food there. From brunch to a casual dinner I'd recommend this spot for anyone.

Yelp
Such a cute place! First timer and we went for brunch! Food was good , service was good! Ambiance is so cute! There was even a live singer which was good and a great addition!

Yelp
Hampton Social in River North is a fun, coastal-themed bar that's perfect for both casual hangouts and special occasions. The decor gives a beach house feel, and the menu features refreshing cocktails and tasty dishesc.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant and good service. I found the food to be lacking. I came during brunch and had the tuna poke bowl. It was played BEAUTIFULLY but fell short in taste. It was very fatty and I felt horrible after eating a few bites.

Yelp
A great brunch spot I got to check out in Chicago! My friend and I made a reservation for the morning, worried it may be busy. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly host and taken right to our table. We had an awesome server and I wish I could remember his name! He was really attentive and checked on us frequently. My friend convinced me to grab an espresso martini since there was a "gold shimmer" that they added to it. It was good, but very strong, forewarning. I got the Gatsby breakfast, and my friend got the steak and eggs. I especially liked the hash browns that came with my plate--those were phenomenal. The French toast was yummy! The eggs and bacon were good, but nothing out of the ordinary. I tried a bite of my friend's steak and eggs, and the steak was good. Overall, we had a great experience here! It is a bit on the pricier side. I really enjoyed the atmosphere though and would go back in the future. Definitely a good brunch option to check out if you're in the Chicago area!

Yelp
Lobster roll - I loved the bread that it was served in, the filling was decent Mac and cheese - this was probably my favorite! Super cheesy, fresh and delicious. The clam chowder - a little too chunky for my liking, not creamy enough. Overall pretty decent

Yelp
my girls and I do brunch at least once a month and we were very excited to knock this place off our bucket list. i made a reservation through Open Table and made a note of our SEVERE peanut, sesame, and gluten allergies. unfortunately, the kitchen completely ignored our heads up. i ordered the monkey bread with no pecans and explained that i cannot even be around nuts. our waitress assured me that they would leave them off. however, the food runner still brought out a cup full of pecans and sat them RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! i told him as he was setting them down to please take them away because of my allergy and he just ignored me and walked away. my friend had to put the cup under the table. my friend with the gluten allergy ordered the green goddess salad with dressing on the side. the description of the salad only said pork belly, cucumber, grilled lemon, tomato, and hard boiled egg. our waitress even double checked to make sure there wasn't a gluten allergen with the dressing. the salad came to us full of CROUTONS! the menu description did not disclose this and the waitress seemed to not know either, which i found very odd. the salad was remade but they failed to bring new sterile silverware. at that point we just asked for the salad to be taken off and got our bill. the manager was accommodating and it's technically not our waitress's fault that the kitchen staff/chefs completely ignored severe allergies. i want to recommend this place but seeing as how i could have possibly been put in the hospital due to ignorance, i'm skeptical. i'm not sure why they ask about allergies if they don't even acknowledge them. the live music was amazing though. nice costal vibe. a little darker than i expected, i feel like it could have been a lot brighter.

Yelp
On our visit to Chicago i booked this spot last minute and it did not disappoint. The cold and creamy Lobster role was delicious and i really enjoyed the brussel sprout appetizer. The drink options seemed to be pretty solid as well. Highly recommend, and definitely photo opt friendly for the picture takers.

Yelp
This was the first place we stopped at for lunch to get our weekend started in Chicago. Everything from the ambiance, the service, the apps (we were so hungry we ate before we had a chance to take a pic) were amazing! The crab & shrimp brushetta app was delicious. My husband isn't a big seafood person yet he loved them. We also had the bang bang chicken app and the seafood salad that came under the chicken was so flavorful w/ the best Thai dressing. The chicken was flavored to perfection! Would definitely come back here next time we're in Chicago! The waiter was so sweet when we mentioned we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary he brought us complementary froze shots!

Yelp
At there today with a group from work and ordered the bang bang chicken and the street corn. SOOO Good and great portions. Service was very attentive and the atmosphere was so comforting. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Yelp
The Hampton Social, I couldn't give five stars and this is why: The volume of the piped music was OVERWHELMINGLY LOUD!!!! All of my party and the surrounding tables of diners were literally yelling over the music and all of the other 30 plus people in the room. Please be mindful that alot of your patrons are there to meet up and catch up on things with other members of their party as well as enjoy a meal and the ambiance of your establishment. I found this restaurant to be trendy, and to me it bodes good vibes when you walk in the front doors. Everyone in my group enjoyed everything we ordered, the service, and our drinks. However, It was Unanimous amongst our group, the music prevented us from enjoying our visit 100% Conducting a conversation with each other was severely hindered as we were relegated to either only speaking to the person next to us, or playing musical chairs to visit with others in our group. None of us got the name of our server, although she was a doppelganger for Katie Holmes!!!! She was was a boss at handling our large group and getting all of those orders from cocktails to hors d'oeurves to entrées correct!!!! Hat's off!!! The food preparation and presentation was on point. We all agreed we would have enjoyed our dinner meeting better if it weren't so loud . Pricing was average @ $30-40 pp.

Yelp
I came to The Hampton Social for a bite to eat before heading to The Bassment. I got the smash burgers and fries. My sister also got the smash burger and mac & cheese. It was an up charge for the fries ($2) and mac ($9). The burger comes with house chips. We both really enjoyed our burger. It was juicy and flavorful. The fries were decent and the mac & cheese was good but different than I'm used to. I got the sparking Rose' non-alcoholic drink. It was pretty good. We sat at the bar. The bartenders seemed to work together. They all were friendly and attentive. Lastly, I loved the aesthetic of the restaurant.

Yelp
Great restaurant and cocktail menu! I just wish they would bring back the pizza. Was told by a manager that the wood fire pizza oven "broke" and they were waiting to fix it. The pizzas were the absolute BEST - great for dinner and were on the phenomenal happy hour menu.
