Anchored by Carruth Cellars and Tipping Pint Brewing Co, Hangar 76 Opens in Oceanside - Eater San Diego

"Three years in the making through California wildfires, drought conditions, and a global pandemic, Hangar 76 opens to the public this Friday, April 1 with a weekend celebration that will include live music, food trucks, raffles, and more. Purchased and developed by Carruth Cellars, the 17,500-square-foot Oceanside warehouse has been transformed into a multi-use venue that will serve as the new production hub and fourth tasting room for the local winery as well as the first brewing facility and taproom for Tipping Pint Brewing Co." - Candice Woo

Got the honey beer or whatever it was called, super sweet and actually fire. Definitely recommend this place. Vibe was on point. The campfires outside with the cool air felt real nice. Whole setup just had good energy. Would come back for sure, especially to chill with a drink and enjoy the atmosphere.

Google
What a fun night out. The beer is good and cold. I had the honey beer and sat out by one of the fire pits. It wasn’t overly crowded so we had several choices inside and outside. There was live music playing and plenty of heaters to off set the chill. We didn’t order food but it smelled great!

This unique concept of three separate businesses in one location works well. We all enjoyed the pizza while my wife had wine and I was able to try a few beers. We happened to be here on trivia night. Katie did a great job running it and helping our son feel involved and have a good time. Everyone we interacted with here was really friendly.

Cool Place with indoor and outdoor spaces, great Wine and other drinks. Didn’t get food this time, but smelled and looked yummy! Lots of fun events. We attended Thursday night Line Dancing—so fun. Great spot outside for bringing the kids. Picnic tables and sand to play in… free street parking. Live Music on weekends.

Google
My favorite place to come to! They always have something fun going on. Trivia every Tuesday at 6pm and the hostess is so much fun, it’s really relaxed and she just makes sure everyone is having a good time. They do monthly dance nights (salsa, line dancing, etc. by McCann Dance), they’ve done a speed dating night, comedy shows, monthly karaoke, and live music on the weekends! Tipping Pint’s beer is delicious and the pizzas are made to-order in their pizza oven, SO yummy. Sometimes they do food trucks too. I’ve seen a couple reviews on here about the kids that sometimes get out of hand, but they have posted around the building some house rules to make sure everyone is safe but still family friendly. Morgan works the wine bar 90% of the time, and she really makes sure to take care of people. There are fire pits and nice seating outside, HIGHLY recommend it here.

Our favorite spot in Oceanside. Great wine, great beer, great music, AMAZING wood-fired pizza and other menu items, great ambiance, AMAZING service. We love it here!

Google
Place was incredible! The beer selection was not that bad and the wine selection was the finest, like not fancy but the fine stuff. Not really roo fancy. The atmosphere was pretty great.

Google
I went with a friend to see the band West of 5. The band was fun, the venue was really cool. They had a large outdoor area, plenty of seating, umbrellas and a great spot for the band. Inside was large too! I liked that they have wood fired pizza which was very good. They have lots of beer on tap but in addition they have Caruth Wines and I got the flight/bartenders choice. It was more my choice since he asked my preferences and I had a delicious variety of white and red wines. This was my first visit but it won’t be my last!

Yelp
Great place to go and have some delicious pizza and sip on some beer and wine. Love the family friendly atmosphere and the amount of space both inside and out!

Yelp
Expectations are important when going to this fun venue. There is outside and inside. It is very casual. Kids are pets are welcome both inside and out. The drink is provided by Carruth Cellars and Tipping Point so you have a choice of wine or beer. There is also a water station and other beverages to choose from. There is a food vendor where you can get pizza on weekends but I'm not sure about the rest of the week. Once you have all that set in your mind and are comfortable with the situation: go and have a great time! I enjoyed a great Pinot Noir and share a cheese pizza with the spouse. The pizza was great! There was a delightful atmosphere of children playing and running, dogs cruising, families smiling and great music which was provided by Smallbatch Ramblers last night. As far as parking: it's on the street. If you park on the side where the rocks are (you'll know what I mean when you see it) have your passenger get out first before you park so they don't scrape your car door on the rocks. Honestly, I called out on social media and friends came in to join us. We had such a good time that when we walked away, we said, "we are definitely doing this again!"

Yelp
I've driven by here nearly weekly and finally had the chance to stop in. One place with both a wine tasting room and a beer tasting room.. it's fun to try both! We met up with some friends here for the first time and it was nice to have one venue for different palates. There was a nice amount of seating both inside and out. It's also kid friendly, just bring enough activities to keep your kids entertained. They had a food truck there on the weekend that had one vegan option. Otherwise, bring your own snacks and food because who knows what type of food truck will be there. We definitely plan to return.

Yelp
Solid spot. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Brewery, winery, and food on site. You can order from any of them and find your own seat. Pet friendly. We tried a beer flight from Tipping Point and food from Javelina. The Mexican lager was my favorite. Javelina's potato salad was fantastic.

Yelp
I reserved part of the patio for a welcome dinner during my wedding wedding and we had a great experience. We had about 35 people and it was so nice that people could go and order their own beer and wine. We pre-ordered pizza (highly recommend doing this because they get busy and pizzas can take some time to make). It was a Friday night so there was live music which made the ambiance extra special. My parents said we should have had the wedding there because it was a nice atmosphere and the prices were really reasonable for the pizza and charcuterie. We emailed ahead of time to set everything up and it was all really smooth. Side note- the pizza and wine there is so good! I haven't tried the beer but our guests enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend if you're having a big event.

Yelp
Great place! Pizza was delicious, beers and wine. Live music on Saturday. Great for adults and kids!

T D.

Yelp
They have indoor seating to enjoy beer and wine. Also, a Great family oriented outdoor space to listen to live music. On the Sunday I went, there were many families with small children enjoying the music and pizza made with the outdoor pizza oven. Dog friendly as well!

Yelp
Such a fun place to hang out with your homies. Beer, wine and fresh made pizza plus lots of seating outdoors and inside. I visited with a group of our daughter's friends so I was the oldest in attendance. We played cornhole and just shot the shit for a couple hours. Bonus was I never had to get my wallet out because the youngsters took care of grandpa. This place is off the beaten path but worth a visit. I also saw a stage so if you're lucky you might come when they have live music.
google avatar

Mackenzi L.

Yelp
It's a wonderful venue and a very cute vibe. They had 2 food tents outside, but a wine and beer counter inside. Live music was starting as we were heading out, lots of friendly little dogs, and neat places to sit. Doing 4 stars for now since we need to explore it more. We're excited to go back and try some food and see what vendors they bring in.

Yelp
While Hangar 76 Brewery boasts a promising concept and a welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff, it unfortunately falls short in its beer offerings. Despite its potential, the brewery lacks variety and depth in both quantity and style. The limited selection may leave beer enthusiasts wanting more diversity and experimentation. With some improvements in their beer selection, Hangar 76 has the potential to soar to new heights.
google avatar

Yelp
You are in a right place if you want to enjoy cold brew or glass of wine. Hangar 76 offers ample space and plenty of seating. You can stay indoors or go outside to a big patio where you can enjoy some quality time with big group of friends or family. Selection of beer is not too big so you should be able to quickly find the beer you like. The price mark for their beers is not high which is great! Wine selection, on the other hand, is much bigger. They source their grapes from up north wineries and crash them locally in the Hangar 76. The price per glass, if you are not the winery member, can be bit steep. Definitely good spot for big groups.
google avatar

Haley L.

Yelp
New favorite spot! It's a great place to bring your kids, listen to live music and enjoy beer or wine. There's connect four, blocks and corn hole for the kids. Pizzas on Fridays and live music is both on Friday and Saturday! Also I believe it's the first Friday of every month, where if you wear flannel you get a discount.

Yelp
This is a cool idea to have a brewery, a winery, and a nice big patio for live music right off the 76 hwy. It's brand new so give them some time to work out the kinks. I like it already the beer is good and the wine is delicious plus the patio is real nice. They usually have food on the weekends along with live music. Plenty of parking on the street just be careful as this area isn't the safest.
google avatar

Cheryl B.

Yelp
It's okay! Probably a good spot for large groups. Lots of space. Beer was good. Meh just okay on a Friday night at 7 to 9
google avatar

Michael W.

Yelp
This spot is so chill, great wine and beer options and the new food vendor has vegan options!! Dog friendly, easy parking and great patio with live music on the weekends. Worth a visit!

J F.

Yelp
Nice, friendly staff. Great idea to offer both beer tasting and wine bar. Great selection of beers. Loved the hazy IPA... Pizza was decent. Light and toasty crust. Could use more shade outside but this may improve as the shrubs grow taller. Nice that there was the option for indoor or outdoor seating if the band is a bit loud to have conversation. Would visit again.

Yelp
I'm feeling all the beer & wine I drank yesterday afternoon as I write this, but still already wanting to return. Their outdoor area is perfect for families, we were able to grab a table for our large group and have the kids at their own for a bit. Spread out, afternoon sunshine, picnic tables, umbrellas & games for kids. Beer & wine Pizza Beautiful space inside as well Outdoor games Indoor board/card games Band was playing Saturday afternoon We loved spending the afternoon here yesterday and so did the littles. I wish Mario's tacos will make a guest appearance here in the future!

Scott R.

Yelp
Haze IPA hit the spot along with a thin crust pizza while listening to music from the 70's. Do you wonder what happened to Jenny 8675309? She's singing with the band. A zillion little kids so it's not for a date night or even an adult experience. If you're bringing kids and dogs it's a lot of fun

Yelp
We love the huge indoor and outdoor space so we can enjoy beer and wine with kids in tow, rain or shine. We are members of carruth and love their wine including reds and whites. The beer is less of a draw for us but is a nice option for other people who join us and prefer it to wine. The outside food vendor is a bit of a disappointment so I wish there were other food options for sale. There's limited stuff nearby so if you dont bring your own (which they allow) you are stuck with the pizza. I prefer a healthier food option and/or gluten free crust which they have neither and one time, they ran out of pizza dough so only half the group was able to get food which was awkward (it was not late in the day.)

Yelp
Everything about this place is super chill. Came here on Friday September 15th. Had a party of almost 20 ppl to celebrate my husband's birthday. The brewery side was happy to store my cake in the walk in, and everyone really liked the craft beer. The wine was delicious, we had chardonnay and red blend. We had such a big group we put two big tables together and they were happy to help us to do so. Place was clean, lots of room to sit both inside and outside. What I liked most was it was a place for everyone, family's , singles , couples , parties. Everything meshes well there. Gaby's tacos was the food of the night and the food was hot and delicious. We will definitely be going back and recommending this place to others!

Stephanie F.

Yelp
The atmosphere is really great and chill. You can come in with friends, outside food, kids, and dogs. It's a chill vibe and so nice. I normally go to trivia on Tuesdays and I love it!

Yelp
Loved this local place. Friendly employees, casual setting, live music outside. They had a food vendor Fiish with fabulous sushi...loved this - excellent food. We will go back.

Joel O.

Yelp
It was so fun ... separate beer and wine areas. So unique! Fabulous service and music by the Prefect Duo I'll definitely comeback

Cori L.

Yelp
This place is always fun and I'm SO ecstatic it's so close to my house! The space is indoor/outdoor and is HUGE! It's a LOT nicer than the other tasting rooms around and very spacious. There's usually a fire going at night. There's great ambience and plenty of street parking. On weekends you can normally find a great food truck or two and live music. The beers are all great and you can get a flight to figure out what you want a full pour of. The wines are great too! I recommend their wine flights to figure out what you want because the wine can be a little bit on the pricier side if you're not a Carruth Cellar Wine Club member. I am a HUGE fan of their GSM red wine. Great vibe. Super local and away from traffic for a large part of Oside residents.

Ana K.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing spot! This hidden gem has the best wine, beer, and pizza. Home of Carruth Cellars and Tipping Pint Brewery. Their casual environment, friendly staff, and delicious pizza make this the best hangout spot. Morgan goes out of her way to accommodate all size parties, kids, pets, and everything in between.

Yelp
Met up with friends on a Sunday afternoon. We enjoyed it and the kids were able to play the games provided. There is no food available on site. (only downfall)

Drew M.

Yelp
Fantastic experience with great outdoor seating and fun vibe. Pizza was on point and a fantastic array of beer from Tipping Pint and wine from Carruth Cellars. Looking forward to the next night out and more local live music!

Yelp
This establishment was super family friendly and dog friendly. The selection of beers was limited but what you would expect from a microbrewery. We also had a flight of wine, however, the experience with the wine server wasn't very pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed the live entertainment this Saturday (Kenny and Tara) and so did the crowd. Really enjoyed the music from start to finish even being a millennial because I grew up on this music from my parents...but apparently the wine server was also the site manager and is NOT A HUGGER and DID NOT LIKE THE MUSIC. She really needs to chill because they were reading the crowd and the crowd had a great time. Beer servers were phenomenal, friendly, and warm. Would come back for them and the entertainment only. New management or an attitude check needed for sure. This is not Oceanside vibes as far as I know.

Jorge C.

Yelp
What a fun place to hang with friends. Love that you can get beer and wine, plus the new oven-fired pizza is SO GOOD! Live music (at least on Fridays when we've gone) is a bonus.

Lauan C.

Yelp
What a cool concept - an winery and a brewery sharing space. On weekends there is always live music and food trucks. Great place to sit and enjoy a glass of beer OR wine and listen to some live music
google avatar

Jordy S.

Yelp
Only been once, but we'll be back. Price point is a little high, especially for the wine, but the atmosphere is cool and they welcome kids and dogs. Live music was nice touch.
google avatar

Elisa S.

Yelp
We just used Hangar 76 to host an event for our business, and it was fantastic! The coordinator was helpful and responsive, and the waitstaff is amazing as always. The venue is beautiful and adaptable, and no on can beat the patio. Thanks for a great space for our event!
google avatar

Julie J.

Yelp
Big space! I love that they have both beer and wine. Also there was a food stand, and lots of games for the kids. The michelata was my favorite part!!! So yummy! We will be back often!!!!
google avatar

Lesley T.

Yelp
The atmosphere is great with live music in the evening. I love Caruth Cellars wine and they have beer as well. The first time we were here they had an amazing taco truck and fresh hamburgers on the grill. Come in the afternoon and stay into evening to enjoy.

Sara L.

Yelp
Beautiful on the inside and out.. very family friendly.. but, they want $18 for a glass of wine for a brand that I don't even recognize the area surrounding has a large homeless population and the parking is off the street. I would not feel safe walking there alone at night..

M O.

Yelp
These guys just had their grand opening the weekend of 4-2-22. The atmosphere is a pretty good, but not enough seating outdoors. The selection of beers was only 5, which is kinda weak. The wine, however, was ridiculously expensive at $15 for not even a full glass. Though okay, I just don't think it was $15 a half glass good. I can't afford to go back.

Margie N.

Yelp
Very nice atmosphere. You can have either beer or wine. When we were there on a Friday they had a live band and they also serve pizza.

Mikayla D.

Yelp
Went here early on a Saturday night, 7:30 PM, practically no one was there. Maybe because it was a chilly night and the manager on duty neglected to light the fire pit and the propane heaters. Not only would this have helped, but it would've added to the ambience of an extremely cold atmosphere. Seating was sparse and spread far apart, wine was really expensive, beer wasn't very cold, we are expecting much better since this was a great concept of having a winery and a brewery under the same roof. Looks like the owners made it 75% and then just gave up with the details. Too bad
