The Hangout

The perfect hangout in Down South I recently visited Hangouts Hiriketiya and it was easily one of the highlights of my trip. Truly, everything was just perfect. The food was absolutely delicious full of flavor and clearly made with care. The service was impressive; the staff is incredibly friendly and made sure our order came to the table super quickly. But the real star is the vibe. It’s unreal. Such a beautiful, chill atmosphere right here in Down South. If you're in Hiriketiya, don't miss this place!

I had a great experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a perfect place to unwind after a day out. The food was fresh, flavorful, and well presented, with a good variety of options on the menu. I especially enjoyed the drinks and the friendly, attentive service from the staff. Even when it was busy, the team did their best to make everyone feel comfortable. Overall, it’s a lovely spot for a casual meal with friends, and I would happily come back again.

Wow the best Mexican Sri Lankan inspired food had on the island. Healthy, clean and so flavourful Highly recommend, lots of shade from the midday sun perfect to escape for a bite to eat at lunchtime

The atmosphere is effortlessly chill. Open, breezy, relaxed. The kind of place where time slows down and nobody is rushing you out the door. Music sits right in the background where it belongs, the crowd is easygoing, and the whole space feels designed for unwinding rather than performing. Drinks are solid and well-made, not flashy for the sake of it, just done right. It’s a great spot for casual catch-ups, low-key nights, or those “one drink turns into three” evenings that somehow end on a high note. Overall, Cool Vibe & Breezy Bar nails the balance between laid-back and lively. No pretension, no noise overload, just good energy, cool air, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer.

Came for the happy hour and ended up staying much longer thanks to the live music and the Mexican BBQ Night on Wednesday. Such a great surprise! The waitresses are super fun and welcoming, there’s a pool table, and the overall atmosphere is really relaxed and enjoyable.

What an amazing modern looking beachy bar! The décor is stunning, with beautiful chandeliers and a stylish design that gives the place a really relaxed vibe. The food was great and the menu had a wide range of choices. The host was very nice, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. Prices were reasonable, and the overall atmosphere was fantastic. I would highly recommend The Hangout to anyone visiting Hiriketiya… it’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy great food and drinks by the beach 😎😎😎

Came here a few times during our stay, always a good vibe. Live music most nights and was pretty decent. They even have pint glasses, which was the first time I have seen them in Sri Lanka. We didn't eat so cant speak for the food.
