The Harding Tavern

Great atmosphere. Happy to find them open the day after Christmas. Good fish and shrimp tacos. Brownie was dry and ice cream was hard, but presentation of all items was superb. Cook was working solo and did a wonderful job keeping up with the orders while we were there. Everything passing our table looked tasty.

Nice corner bar with good food. The burgers are top-notch. Friendly staff, the TVs are usually showing sports. It's small inside but has outdoor seating during warmer months.

We went for a beer and two appetizers mid month - the food was good and the beer was exactly as I ordered. The check arrived and they charged me $1.00 more for my beer than the menu price so I asked the waiter to please fix the amount. He returned and confirmed that it is $5.00 on the menu but they would not take the additional $1.00 off and that I had to pay it. He explained that it was the beer of the month for the month prior while the price was wrong on the menu I still had to pay what they charged me. I explained that it was now the 16th so they had over two weeks to change the price. I told the waiter that I believed what was he was doing was illegal but he said the bartender wouldn’t redue the price to that of the menu. I was forced to pay unless I wanted to make a scene. It is awful that a restaurant would post one price on the menu and then charge another. What makes it worse is that I pointed out their mistake to them and they still charged me the wrong price. Are they charging extra on purpose? Since they refused to honor the price on the menu I would suggest yes. If they won’t honor their menu prices then I can’t return and I do wonder what else they are doing behind their customers’ backs. This was extremely shady.

Came in on Sunday for the game, the bartender was great! Super attentive and friendly. When we had moved to a table due to adding two more to our party; our server didn't acknowledge us. I had to ask the manager who our server was and then she pointed out who she was. A couple minutes later after the manager told her we were looking for her she finally came and asked us what we wanted, we told her and that was that. Then our two guest finally came, we ordered and not once were we checked on asking how are food was and if they're was anything else she could get us if we needed anything. I work in the industry and I know this wasn't near good service. She could've gotten at least another round of drinks from us. She kept talking to two regulars at the bar and they had more attention than us. We'd go back for food and the bar service, but definitely not for the same waitress. I loved the cozy feeling this bar gave for sure! Also highly recommend the tamarind sour!

Yummy burgers, we got the classic and salmon burger and both were very good. Nice outdoor seating and it’s dog friendly Street parking is not too bad

Didn't have food when I went but man. The bar! Legit, the easiest and most direct way to get a beer quick, just walk in and yell at the counter. Awesome place.

Me Wife and I love coming here! Outdoor seating is a plus! Not to mention they have a pretty good menu and beer selection. Wings were delicious and the steak tacos are OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD!!! I didn’t know this place existed - but I’m glad I found it! Small place with good food. Bloody Mary was delicious with the little side of beer - yum! Definitely coming back!

We came in late, kinda bar hopping in the area; we enjoyed our Martinis, the TV's were easy to watch and hear. Waitress was funny and friendly. Space was typical; nothing special, it was spacious, we sat at a high top in the corner. We only ate fries, they were hot & crispy; we enjoyed them! Update: They have warm cocktails which I love and are not as popular as I think they should be in the Windy City, (in January). Can't remember the name but it was green and delicious! Also, we had a photo shoot in the lovely oversized, jumbo mirror headed to the ladies room lol

God, I love me some dive bars, more so when they're located in centralized locations i.e. on a major street, sandwiched between two train stops. The Harding Tavern is so much more than your average dive bar, though. With dine-in seating, you have premium beer/cocktail options on top of meals fit for any type of day. Their tap options are stacked, in my opinion. They have a rotating 'pint of the month' that highlights an alluring $5 price tag. Special mention, these guys have Goose Island Bourbon County stout on tap, which, to me, is incredible. I'm never in the market to buy a full bottle of one of these drinks, so a 10 oz pour is just right. The tavern itself is pretty compact, with the bar area located in the middle of everything, so it's pretty easy to get a tender's attention. Service is always prompt no matter the time of day. Brunch deals are available with their complimentary mimosas with a brunch entree purchased and a $38 package deal that includes a bottle of bubbly + OJ. I think the THT is a solid option to grab a drink in Logan Square. Great to bring some friends, to bring a first date, or to just grab a drink and watch a sports ball game alone. No judgment! Its accessibility alone to the NW side of the city is reason enough to check this bar out.

I'd give these guys the #1 for the best burger in the neighborhood. THT burger is phenomenal with the Brie in it. You get the cozy chill sports bar vibes along with good food and good service. Nothing else to ask for.

I went to the Harding Tavern for the first time last week for a margarita Monday event, and fell in love with the place. The service was fast and super friendly. The bar itself is cozy and inviting. I haven't been able to stop thinking about the delicious garlic-y burger or Asian salad ever since. Will definitely be back and also plan on ordering pick-up or delivery in the future.

Great food, great service, and friendly atmosphere! The portions are huge. Best fish and chips I've ever had! My husband got the chicken sandwich with an amazing aioli that complimented every bite! Daughter had beautiful plate of pancakes and son had a bacon breakfast burrito! Friend ordered the THT French toast! I highly suggest! The brioche was so fresh and moist - presentation was gorgeous! Come over and have a great time!

My grilled chicken sandwich (recommended by my waitperson) was yummy, the service was warm & friendly, and my water glass was never less than half full! Definitely will go back!

The food was good but nothing out of the ordinary. They charge you for any substitution. Example, my entree had honey mustard and I cannot eat that so I asked for the herb aioli instead and got charged a buck. Not that a buck is expensive but I think it's a bit silly. The service on the other hand was not the greatest. We had empty glasses of coke and it took them essentially until we were done with our meals to recognize and to offer us a refill. The bartender was the one to realize, not the two servers who walked by our tables many times. Mind you, it wasn't even busy at 8pm on a Monday.

The Harding Tavern is located on Milwaukee just south of Diversey, and is just around the corner from one of the entrances to the Logan Square - CTA Blue Line station. According to its website The Harding Tavern is named after The Harding Theater, which was at this spot from 1925 to 1963 (how about that?). My love and I have been to THT a couple of times, once for happy hour beers and once for a casual dinner with peeps. The beer list is pretty good with rotating drafts, such as a Revolution Oktoberfest special. There are lots of TV's showing sports if that is your jam. The service for our weeknight party of six dinner was quite good, as we snared a table right away and our water glasses were filled nonstop. If I counted correctly, five of us had burgers with fries, and the other ordered a flatbread that was the thickest flatbread that I have ever seen. My Crispy BBQ burger featured a load of fried onions (yum) and white cheddar and bacon too, but only a squirt of BBQ sauce. Along with the side order of fries, I'd say the burger combos are pretty good if not great.

This place punches way above its weight from a food perspective. I got the blackened chicken sandwich special and it was terrific. $5 hazy ipa craft beer special as well which is almost unheard of anymore. Friendly service and great atmosphere make this place way better than your average bar.

The wings are , Mac and cheese was so light and sauce was white not too creamy but so tasty. The fries , let me just say we finished them all! The flatbread was good too. Everything was fresh and hot , service was great. Will be in my rotation.

I had walked by The Harding Tavern a number of times and had always wanted to stop by. Situated just next to a CTA -Blue Line stop, it is very convenient for those visiting via train. From the outside you can see an extensive bar set up, adding to the appeal. I ended up coming to The Harding Tavern on a Sunday afternoon for Brunch with a group of friends. As this place does not take reservations, we expected to have to wait, but were pleasantly surprised when we were seated right away. The space itself is a lot smaller than I thought it would be, with (4 person) booth seating throughout. I believe they had a few larger tables for a bigger group, but not too many. When we were there, it appeared to be only the one waitress working. With that said she did a great job managing all of the tables, and being attentive enough. Being as though we went for brunch, we could not turn down the chance of a mimosa ($9), which was good and the perfect proportion of juice/alcohol. Food was also good, nothing too special, but good. Portion was quite large and filling. Lots of variety on the menu, which was nice. Overall, good experience here and I look forward to coming back for dinner and drinks, as those fries looked delicious!

Ariel was amazing!! She was so kind and so efficient and truly made our visit worth it. If you're going to come by, make sure to ask for Ariel!

The Harding Tavern is located just north of the bustling Logan Square area on Milwaukee. It's a low-key local place with plenty of street parking since it's on the north side of Logan Square Park. Casual no-frills bar with great service. They have local beers on tap but the staff isn't too knowledgeable about them but a quick Google search can get you all the answers you need. I'd stay away from the cocktail menu as well since they leave a lot to be desired. Come for the beers and company. Enjoy the attentive and friendly service.

Back to eat in house. Fantastic burger as previously reviewed. Cooked perfectly. Hint of char is a great thing

After seeing a movie at The Logan Theater (a few blocks away)-the theater staff recommended The Harding Tavern as a good place to get chicken wings and a drink. Entry and Seating- So a friend and I walked several blocks to The Harding Tavern and immediately upon entering we were greeted and told that we could choose our own seats. We sat at a table with two chairs near the window which was fun to people watch! The Order- We ordered the barbeque wings and the buffalo wings. Both orders of chicken wings were plump, tender, and well sauced! We ordered sides of ranch and blue cheese dipping sauces (as they did not come with the wings) and instead of carrots or celery sticks your only option is thinly shaved carrots. We are big fans of celery and carrot sticks so it was a bit disappointing. In addition, we found it odd having to ask for the sides of dipping sauces (ranch and blue cheese). Furthermore, the barbecue wings were not listed on the menu and were offered as an option as they did not have the Thai Chicken Wings that evening only Buffalo, BBQ and Mango Habanero were available. While the wings were delicious (and BBQ very, very sticky!), I am not sure that we would return there to have the chicken wings again-but would probably try the hamburgers as they seemed like a popular order and looked well presented and stacked. FYI-Our server was nice and while she was busy, she still made time for us in an unfrazzled and pleasant demeanor. (It was a Friday evening!)

Just left this place about an hour ago. And I must say horrible service. The waiter didn't even introduced himself or even bothered saying "hi how are you guys" he just came to our table and gave us water and had us waiting there for 10mins while he kept on taking everyone else's orders and walking past our table. And the place wasn't even understaffed. Me and my date decided to walk out. Do a better job and maybe this place won't have such poor reviews and ratings

Unassuming bar, the Christmas lights make it warmer than a typical sports bar. Big bourbon selection at good prices. Our local guy tried the pork belly skewers and he said they're good, delicious. Friendly service. Serve a fine pbr. But losing stars for the bill. Firstly for charging more for whiskies than the price on the menu. Secondly for adding 20% service to the check then leaving a "additional tip" section to lure drunkards to accidentally tip twice.

I really like coming here for some beers with friends! It's also a good place to watch a game, I watched the World Cup Finale here and it was so much fun and high energy! I've eaten here once and was not a fan, i gave it a second try when i was here for the world cup game and got a croissant sandwich and i mean, it was just so bland i could make something way better at home. That concluded me ordering food here ever again but i will def eat before and come hang for some very reasonably priced beers!!!!

It took is a while to stop in here. We walk by a lot on the weekends and the patio is always full. They have some amazing smelling and looking brunches as we walk past. We came early on a weekday and got a gteat spot on the patio. Wow they have an amazing beer selection. Also they have some great ciders. Service is fantastic. The TST burger was very good. Seasoned beef good amount of garlic and just the right spice. I however was taken aback by the most amazing fish and chips. Perfect size pieces with an amazing batter and great crisp. Seriously amazing! The fries were also really good and they load you up. Only able to eat half of them!

As the world reopens, it's nice to be able to go out and eat again. With a few of my friends moving into Logan Square, we were looking for a place was open for business and this looked like a great spot. I ordered the Tex-Mex Burger and it was incredible. I'm a sucker for a good aioli sauce and the one they have here is incredible. Paired with bacon, roasted red peppers and onion, it create a full burger experience bursting with flavor. I paired it with a beer flight and was able to leave full and happy without spending an arm or a leg. Overall, a great option in Logan Square.

They let me sit on the patio and drink a smoothies from a local coffee shop and didn't bother me one bit. Five stars for that.

I came across this place when I was craving pub food and had expected it to hit the spot based on the menu. Unfortunately, the food was average and very wet? The mac and cheese was surprisingly soupy. The service was good, and I liked the outdoor seating though.

The owner of this restaurant is one of the nicest people I ever met in this industry. He owns multiple restaurants on Milwaukee ave and they're all great Best thing to order at THT is the mango habanero wings

We came in for a late brunch on Sunday and planned on going to a place close to this joint but when we found out that there was 45 plus wait then we ran out of there fast and walked our butts to The Harding Tavern. I enjoyed my time at the Harding Tavern and here is why. There was no wait, the food was just stupendous and the service was super attentive. We walked in and there was no wait which made our bellies happy. So we sat down right away and were attended to really fast. We had a bloody mary, a mimosa, 3 egg and sausage special and a chorizo burrito/wrap. They were very accommodating with the fact that we didn't eat pork and were able to substitute turkey sausage for the pork options. The food was so good, we cleaned our plates. I will definitely return for those potatoes. The only advise I would give is to be a bit more child friendly since it is a brunch place BUT then again it is also a bar simultaneously so I can't blame them.

Great bar in Logan Square! Everyone here is so friendly, including the owner who came up to our table and greeted us. We came here on New Year's Eve and had a great time ringing in the new year. Appetizers are half off after 10 pm. We got the Mac n cheese, pork belly skewers and THT fries, all were good! The service was very quick as well. This bar has a very cozy and live atmosphere and the interior is very well decorated. Will be coming back here soon.

Wings and Burgers 5 starThe best wings in Chicago!! My favorite wings are the mango habanero. Awesome burgers too. Service is always lacking. They usually only have 1 server but the food keeps me coming back. I literally come here more than once a week. This last time we went,on a Monday, we were served by someone we haven't before and wow was she rude. We couldn't even finish ordering because she walked away quick. And the place was pretty empty. My boyfriend didn't get a chance to order his burger. I got up and went to tell another server that was close by if she could please add a burger as our server had walked away on us. One of these days the shitty service will make us never return. Tip : 1/2 off appetizers after 10pm Tip: Only nice server is Marcella

I am so glad we have this place in our neighborhood. Great vibe, not too boozy. They have great drinks collection. Lunch specials are great and for a good price too! Great place to watch sports, get a drink or just order a meal and sit outside and watch the Milwaukee street crowd. The tavern is located in a trendy corner of Milwaukee street with other nice restaurants around.

Jason was rude and had a nasty attitude when I first called my order in and also when I went to pick it up .. The food here is great the ambience is great but Jason really ruined my experience.

If I could I'd give 3.5. Its right off the Logan Square blue line station. I love the seating since almost all tables are near windows, aside from the bar. Pros: We ordered the Papas Con Chorizo, which was delicious! The potatoes in it were so good and the potatoes on the side were equally delicious!! We also ordered the Thai wings which weren't as good to me. They were also super spicy for me, so if you like spicy with a kick I'd definitely get this!! Cons: During nice days out, they open the windows and keep the door open. Since they do this a lot of bugs and insects come in. I had to shoo more than a handful of flies and other bugs away. Something else I didn't really like was not having the wings coated in the sauce; the sauce came on the side, which made it hard for my entire wing to be covered in sauce.

I love coming to this bar for many reasons, great food, service and specials. Appetizers are half off after ten o'clock and they are open late as well. If the weather is nice they also have outdoor seating as well. I had the THT burger which happens to be one of my favorite Burgers. The meat they use is freshly house ground roasted garlic beef, brie cheese, arugula, spicy fresh herb aioli and some applewood smoked bacon also comes with fries. You also must try the pork belly skewer, made with spicy sesame glaze, roasted peanuts and napa cabbage. They also have a beer that most bars do not carry, the White Rascal and it is so good! Plenty of TVs if you want to watch some games. Look forward to coming back again soon!

Covid-19 Isolation Review- We ordered some burgers from THT during quarantine, and they were delicious. I would recommend the burgers if you're looking for something that is filling and reminds you of summer. While we did not dine in/ or in their patio, we'd love to check their patio out when Covid-19 is all over. We ordered- CLASSIC BURGER (house-ground beef, tomato, onion, lettuce, brioche bun, lemon aioli, house pickle, choice of cheese). I enjoyed this burger because it felt 'light' for a burger. CRISPY BBQ BURGER (house-ground beef, white cheddar, crispy onions, barbecue sauce). I don't really like BBQ sauce. I think it can overpower burgers. However, this burger had the right amount of sauce, and its sweetness went perfectly with the crispy onions. I would like to shout out the MVP of the meal, the fries. While the burgers were good, I feel like I don't ever expect fries that are anything special. But the fries that come with your burger are salted perfectly and have cilantro on top. So good!

Great spot, good beer for a good price. Strikes a great balance between cozy but still lots of natural light. Definitely recommend!

Just got the THT burger and it delicious. The spicy aioli is amazing. Also got the sautéed shrimp and delicious as well. Will definitely stop by and get other items from the menu.

My go to bar type restaurant. The buffalo chicken wrap and caesar wrap are my favorite although I've tried lots of other food items that have been great as well. Nice beer selection and theres happy hour deals as well. The wraps are my go to & i rarely order wraps anywhere else because they don't compare. Highly recommend this neighborhood spot. And theres a parking lot in back!

Our service at The Harding Tavern was not the best. We were seated outside and quickly received our first round of drinks (so far so good). We were then asked by our server if we were ready to place our entree order at the same time as our appetizers. I hesitated and asked if they'd be staggered, allowing us to enjoy our appetizers first and the server said yes. Well, our appetizers arrived and about 3 minutes later, so did our entrees. The outside table was overflowing with plates so much that I had to place one of the appetizers on my lap while I ate. We also had at least three different servers approach our table at different times throughout the night. This might sound like a good thing but (we're assuming that) one employee didn't relay anything to the other two which meant that we basically had to repeat ourselves three separate times with each interaction. Just seemed like no one was trained properly. The BEST interaction throughout the night was the busboy... he was an older gentleman - super friendly and attentive. Management should consider upgrading him to a server because the ones they currently employ are not doing that great of a job. Regardless, we left a 20% tip but thought that it wasn't really deserved. Food was great.

Yeah. It's one of those places that assumes you want them to "keep the change" while also hiding the tax from the actual "price" of a beer at the bar. Lame.

The pork belly skewers are gone!!! This is literally the only reason that I came to this bar. The atmosphere is good but I have never been a huge fan of the food (the burgers have more of a sausage taste than burger taste) except for the PORK BELLY SKEWERS!!! RIP I shall miss you greatly.

Harding Tavern is a cute sports bar. The burgers are really good. The service is good. It's also nicely kept inside and it's a good spot to watch a game. Not that I'm in to games... From the outside you may think average, but give it a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

I will begin here, I have gone past the Harding Tarven either on foot or by public transportation. One day I will stop in. I finally did. I choose to have my birthday dinner here. The moment we walked in I felt at home. Greeted by one of the bartenders. She is very friendly. For the first time being here, we asked what would she recommend. She recommended the tht burger. So we went those, paired with stella. Which was ice cold. The burger was amazing, perfect portion along with the fries. Very clean location. Comfortable seating area. The outdoor patio is a great spot to relax with a cold with friends. The experience was worth the wait. Thank you Harding Tarven, I picked a great location. Keep the great work. I will be back very soon.

Great place in the Logan Square hood! Comfort food, craft beers, and cocktails w lots of TVs! Al fresco sitting too! Stays open late, appetizers 1/2 off after 10.

Love this little neighborhood spot. Good drinks. Good location. The bartender Gil is super cool & always remembers me. Glad they made it through covid because the outdoor seating is calling my name :)

Best Food in Logan Square! Chicken Caesar Wrap is usually my go to. But the THT burger is unmatched. Probably the best burger I have had in my life time! So good I get it once a week. Also have a great brunch menu with GIANT FRENCH TOAST. 10/10

Great food overall, but the fish and chips come with a tiny amount of tartar sauce and then they charge you another $ for more. I hate it when restaurants do that to customers.

Interesting concept. I got a whiskey drink here. Their menu lists prices as around $6-12 for a whiskey drink, depending on the type of whiskey. I had two separate drinks. When the bill came, it was for four drinks even though I only had two. They charge an automatic double for each whiskey drink you order. Mind you the pours were not generous and no one said a word about the drinks being automatically charged as doubles. When we asked about this, they were condescending and said that this was standard practice. Where? In The Robbing Tavern? Never heard of it in my decades of drinking but okay. I think because my friend was young and I looked young (but really I'm an old bitch), they felt like they could pick on us and my friend was super nice and didn't want confrontation so we paid the double prices and left. So if you order one drink, expect to pay for two, but really only drink one. If you order two drinks (don't do that, you should order zero drinks and go somewhere else), expect to pay for four, and only drink two. Oh and certainly, you will be treated like shit as well. By the way, I hardly EVER give a one-star review. Go look at my reviews. I only do this when the business is dishonest and really reprehensible. Congratulations Robbing Tavern, for making it to the top 2% worst businesses I've ever been to.

This is the second time that I review the Harding tavern....the food was good, the service was very good.. the cheeseburger was better than the one at Kumas.... The garlic shrimp...appetizer...was very tasty... the pork belly skewers delicious... Why 4 stars only.... they were offering some specific beers... guava sour and elote cream flavors.... but didn't have them. Therefore, I decided that 4 stars is what they should get. But I like more their burgers than kumas... for sure! I'm going back soon.... I will let you know how good was it this time.
