I had a wonderful experience trying the Spring Festival Afternoon Tea at The Georgian Restaurant in Harrods. It’s a beautifully executed balance of Asian-inspired creativity and traditional English afternoon tea, enjoyed in an elegant and timeless setting.
The savouries were particularly impressive. Classic favourites like the cucumber sandwich with minted cream cheese and smoked Faroe Island salmon on brown bread were refined and well made, while the more creative options truly stood out. The crispy aromatic duck with hoisin, wrapped in a fragrant shiso leaf, was a highlight — a thoughtful and delicious Asian twist that worked perfectly within the afternoon tea format. The cheese and pickle sandwich was comforting yet elevated.
The scones were freshly baked and excellent. My personal favourite pairing was the scones with the orange, mandarin and Earl Grey jam, which added a lovely citrus aroma and depth of flavour.
Desserts were inspired by the Year of the Horse, with the standout being the “Lucky Knight” chocolate and salted caramel bar — indulgent but not overly sweet, with very well-balanced layers. I also loved the black sesame, coconut and raspberry dessert; the nutty aroma of black sesame combined beautifully with the freshness of raspberry and coconut.
The atmosphere truly elevated the experience. The live pianist performance added a graceful, nostalgic charm to the room. I chose their exclusive 1920s Classic Georgian Tea, which had a rich aroma and genuinely felt like being transported back in time.
What made the experience even more meaningful was the Spring Blossoms wishing tree, where guests can write down their New Year wishes. It’s a beautiful, thoughtful touch that creates a sense of human connection and celebration beyond just the food.
The service was exceptional. The manager and staff were warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive — you can really feel that the team cares, not only about food quality but about creating a welcoming and memorable experience for every guest.
Overall, this afternoon tea felt special, refined, and full of heart — a perfect choice for a seasonal treat or a memorable occasion in London.
