"One of the best bars in Los Angeles, ideal for killing time with an IPA and some french fries." - Ben Mesirow
"The Hermosillo is technically a tap room for Highland Park Brewing, but you don’t need to care about beer to love this place. It's the kind of reliable neighborhood hangout where you can post up in an old-school banquette with Dodger fans or eat a few tacos while watching someone's toddler run around the parking lot patio strung with lights/ Of course, you’ll also have a great time at Hermosillo if you do care about beer, and the knowledgeable staff is happy to discuss the dozen-plus craft beers on draft." - nikko duren, brant cox
"A Highland Park neighborhood bar that was described as moody and dim with a killer beer list and a coveted rarity: about eight parking spots in a side lot. When bars shut down in 2020, ownership cannibalized a couple spots to build a small patio, and as shutdowns dragged on they gave up the rest of the parking—dropping picnic tables and upright barrels on the blacktop; over time they added more tables, pulled out wheel stops, put up shade tents and heat lamps, and rolled in two massive trees. The patio has become a Northeast LA essential, the kind of spot where you’ll always run into a familiar face, and its continued success is offered as a striking example of what’s possible when cities prioritize people over parking: turning private space into something that feels public, encouraging chance encounters and a stronger sense of community." - Jaya Saxena
"“Since I moved to this area, I’ve spent a lot more time [at Hermosillo]. The outside area is essentially a daycare. There are so many families. And we have a one-year old, so it’s sort of perfect. Mom and dad get to chill out and I think their cheeseburger is great. And I really think their fried pickles are some of the best fried pickles I’ve ever had.”" - brant cox
"Your sister’s boyfriend Bevan, who has a craft beer Instagram, is in town and won’t stop talking about Northeastern hazy IPAs. Shut him up by taking him to The Hermosillo, where you can prove LA is an incredible craft beer city. This Highland Park bar is basically a glorified tap room for Highland Park Brewery, which is good news for Bevan because HPB is one of the best breweries in town. But Hermosillo goes far beyond good beer - it’s also just a place where you want to spend your night. There’s a low-key crowd, a full wine list for non-beer people, and a food menu that’s actually very good. Get the IPA pork belly tacos." - brant cox
