Cornwall’s Best Restaurants | Where to Eat in Cornwall on Holiday | Eater London

"A rare exception to the normally reliable rule that good food and heartbreaking views don’t mix, this out-of-the-way café overlooks one of the UK’s most beautiful expanses of beach. And yet locals and tourists brave the borderline-impassable hill down — pro tip: walk, don’t drive — as much for the Hut itself as the sea and sand. A buzzy 2018 cookbook gives a pretty good indication of what’s on offer: grilled fish and picked crab in the summer, hearty soups and stews when things start to cool off. Leave room for some enjoyably unreconstructed baked goods, especially if returning to a car parked on a double-digit incline." - George Reynolds

This is now one of my favourite spots in Cornwall. The food was absolutely amazing. The Cornish steak pasty I had was filling and delicious, and the hazelnut hot chocolate was exactly what I needed that morning— it warmed me up in the seaside breeze and gave me the perfect boost of sweetness. The blueberry and banana muffin was moist and so tasty. I only wish I’d had the chance to try more from their menu! The staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was just right, with families enjoying their holidays. You also get to enjoy a stunning beach view. It was quite windy when we visited, so I’d recommend bringing an extra layer. Overall, I loved this place and would definitely come back when I’m in the area!

This place is a real treat. Only a few hot dishes on the menu which shows the quality of the place. Food is being cooked all the time, so after ordering you are looking at a couple of minutes wait. Excellent service and friendly people. My son had the pulled pork brioche and it was a flavour sensation.

Worth the long queue for food - had a delicious Cornish pasty. The soup and daal looked really tasty too. Get there early as the menu did have sold items by the time we arrived (about an hour until closing). Definitely worth travelling for and a highlight of our trip.

First visit to the Hidden Hut today and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We had lunch which was delicious. I had the spiced pork dish and the other three with me chose the crab tacos which they said were amazing. It's in a lovely position overlooking the beach and on a day like today, sunny but not too hot it was heaven. The dog with us had a great time with us throwing sticks for her to retrieve. I would very much recommend this cafe and beach to locals and visitors alike.

In a word "sensational". Great staff , excellent coffee, the best Portuguese custard tarts and steak pasties that I have ever tasted. We went there almost every day of our holiday in Portscatho. Congratulations to Simon and his team.

Amazing little place set back from the beach. Note, did not sample the main menu just a slice of cake. An independent venue that serves up good looking food from what we saw. Prices looked very reasonable too. Would certainly return to try the food. Staff were very friendly and the setting was amazing

A charming little seaside café, perfect for a quick grab-and-go treat. The food and drinks were pleasant, but the real highlight is the breathtaking ocean view right next to the café. There are a few small tables, creating a cozy, laid-back vibe, though seating is quite limited. It's an ideal spot if you plan to spend a lazy day by the sea, soaking up the breeze and perhaps enjoying a swim. However, if you're visiting with a tight schedule, especially on an Asian-style quick tour, it might not be the most convenient choice as the road can be tricky and parking is limited. Still, for those looking to unwind and embrace the beauty of the coast, it’s absolutely worth a visit!

The fish stew was incredible, I went back and ordered a second one! Kitchen staff were so friendly. Spectacular views by the beach.
