Absolutely loved the Buddha Bowl! Everything tasted fresh, vibrant, and super whole food–forward. The ingredients were seasoned perfectly—exactly the kind of food I want to put in my body. It’s clear a lot of care goes into this meal. I just wish it were around $12 before tax so more people could access healthy food like this. A lunch special could make a huge difference and open the door for more folks to eat out and feel good about it. The vibe inside is great too—calm atmosphere and super supportive, uplifting messaging on the walls. Love what this place stands for!

Food is pretty yummy and tasty, but not out of this world. Nothing remarkable. Portions are small, prices are high. You don’t get your money’s worth here. The vibe is pretty nice and grungy, but its unattended: there were 2 dirty tables left for quite a while during my stay. Nice spot, but for the price, i would expect much better.

This place is a gem! The açaí is perfectly smooth and not too sweet, and the toppings are always fresh and generous. Tons of great options to customize your bowl, and everything tastes super clean and satisfying. The staff is friendly, and the shop has a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Definitely my go-to spot for a healthy treat!

I am obsessed with the macro bowls here. The Hive can accommodate any dietary restrictions or allergies which I really appreciate. Always a hearty serving of protein (which is key if you are trying to hit a protein goal). I love these bowls post workout.

Very cute, whimsical atmosphere. The four stars was because of the temperature, ac was a little too strong on a colder day. The menu is extensive with many choices, and very customizable. I ordered a build your own açaí bowl, which has many different options to choose from. The drinks were good, food was good, and it was a short wait time. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good for a light breakfast or brunch!

Food is tasty and it’s good price for the area. We ordered in a party of 5 and food took a long time to arrive. Plates arrived separately, 10 minutes apart from each other.

Absolutely loved the lavender latte, it was rich, creamy, and sweet but not too sweet. The breakfast burrito was a perfect balance of protein and vegetables and the salsa was so so good.

I loved the atmosphere and ambience, very colorful and pretty. I got the lavender latte and breakfast burrito, and both were delicious. The coffee tastes high quality, and not too sweet. The burrito was evenly marbled with spinach, eggs, cheese, potatoes, and guacamole, and nicely toasted! Would definitely come here again.

Their bowls are unbelievable! Super healthy, balanced with protein, carbs, fiber. Perfect post-workout meal; Nothing is overly sweet or too rich, just great ingredients. Honestly If I got the salmon bowl at a Michelin star restaurant I'd be "oh yeah.. I get it". (+ Extra points to the chef who decided to throw whole garlic cloves (pickled?) into the mix too)

Standard acai place to satisfy your acai cravings. Toppings are fresh and flavorful. I wish they would allow more toppings for their standard price. Service was kind and quick. Plenty of indoor seating and some limited outdoor seating.

For the ultimate Acai bowl experience in LA, look no further than indulging your taste buds at The Hive in Santa Monica. As an avid Acai Bowl connoisseur, I hold high standards with how my Acai bowl should taste. For example, how is the balance and ratio of all the ingredients in the bowl? Are the fruits fresh? Does the Acai taste cheap or premium? I've tried Acai Bowls at franchise spots like Uba Tuba, as well as spots like Body Energy Club. And of all the places I've been to, none have quite reached the pinnacle set by The Hive in terms of price, quality, and taste. In fact, the only two places I would ever have an Acai bowl in LA would be 1. The Hive and 2. Body Energy Club. To me, The Hive has established itself as the benchmark for Acai bowl excellence, so much so that it has rendered alternatives like Uba Tuba to be inadequate in comparison. I ordered the build your own Acai Bowl with an Acai base. Complemented by strawberries, banana, and blueberries for my fruits. Hemp granola and cacao nibs for my toppings. And finishing it off with almond butter and a drizzle of honey. Judging by the taste alone, you can tell The Hive only uses premium ingredients. And with locations in SM and Marina Del Ray, it comes to no surprise, as less than premium ingredients used would not fly with the demographic in these areas. You can also really taste the freshness of the fruits, which I appreciate. They don't cheap out by using fruits that are days past its peak in terms of taste and freshness. I come here every Saturday after my running workouts and it has not failed in terms of consistency and quality to this day. You can also expect an inviting ambiance, and the staff here are a delight. Parking is fairly easy to find, but they will be meter parking by the half hour as an FYI. Overall, a fantastic place for Acai bowls! Also, their other warm dishes are phenomenal as well. The smoked salmon avocado toast and breakfast burritos are some of the most tastiest dishes I've had in LA by far. I can't find any complaints about this place thus far, so 5 stars to The Hive.

Quality food and service at a pretty good price point. Great location with plenty of indoor/outdoor seating walking distance to beach and plenty of parking. We had the breakfast burrito, breakfast scramble, and breakfast sandwich as well as coffee and pastries and everything was good. Felt light and healthy, and we appreciate the huge selection of gluten free options.

The açaí bowl and yogurt parfait were pretty good. The honey comb on top was delicious!

On a whim, I stopped for a quick bite/take out order. This spot is very cool. Vibrant, nicely decorated, just fun to be inside or outside if ya have a pup with you. The menu was enticing. Many items jumped out at me, but for my first time, the Kale Ceasar caught my eye. It surely did not disappoint. The chicken was hidding underneath all the other ingredients which made for a delicious first, unexpected bite. To compliment my meal, I ordered the Matcha mint Smoothie. It was refreshing and filling. Every smoothie sounded fantastic, so i'll be trying something different for my next visit. Great vibe, great location, and fantastic service! It is walk up and order. I appreciate the friendliness of the the gentleman working, great energy to welcome me into the store. They weren't to busy when I arrived. My order was ready in about 5 minutes and I was on my way. Overall, awesome!!!

This breakfast smoothie spot is quite popular in Santa Monica. I came here after my hot yoga class, and it was pretty busy! Your order at the front and there are a selection of bars and breakfast items. I ordered the golden latte which was a turmeric, and it was very bitter. I wasn't expecting that. I am used to the one on Montana. I had to ask for extra honey to make it bearable to drink. The açai bowl was so bland and they literally at one strawberry, which is so disappointing. And it would definitely not recommend getting it! However, the mushroom bowl was very tasty and had a lot of textures and flavors.

Cute spot, tasty acai! Not too busy on a Tuesday at 10:40am. It was about a 10 minute wait for my acai to come out. $17.69 total for my bowl. * Dragon Fruit Immunity ($13.95) - 4 stars The granola, hemp seeds, and bee pollen were so key! They gave this such a nice extra crunch. The fruit were perfectly ripe and the acai just right.

This place is super cute and delicious, totally worth the price! My bowl was so flavorful and both drinks were delicious. The iced matcha latte had a very unique taste that I very much loved, will definitely be coming back here again! 10/10

Visited Santa Monica on a busy holiday weekend. Started my morning by tackling the grueling Santa Monica stairs. The variety of tasty options were endless. From breakfast burritos to delicious nutrient dense smoothies this place is golden for any hungry person looking for healthy and delicious food options. The staff were patient and quick and took the time to explain the menu items. There was no lack in dining tables and the quirky wall painting made for a an exceptional experience. If you're ever in the area and want fresh, tasty options you should stop here.

I ordered the classic açaí bowl. It was a large portion with very ripe bananas and strawberries. The honey, bee pollen, and granola added the perfect amount of different flavor and texture. I ordered an americano as well that was strong and tasty. It took quite a while for the order to be prepared, but I believe it is because it is made fresh to order. The inside is quite and seems like a good place to study. They have outside seating as well. The service was fine.

I ordered the Noriega Special omelette and it was fantastic! Eggs perfectly cooked, salmon and avocado were stuffed inside in generous portions. My dining companions ordered the breakfast burrito and it was tasty. Coffee was good too. And at last, the vibe. I feel like I am in the Bay Area a lot more than I feel like I am in Santa Monica. Nice staff, sunny, and good vibes.

Absolute pleasure to come here in Santa Monica. They have all of my favorite things - organic coffee, matcha, smoothies and even low carb donuts. Lots of great chocolates and other products for sale too. Definitely a go to when I am in the neighborhood. I even will visit multiple times in a day! Shoutout to Joe for excellent service.

Been to Hive before and tried an açaí bowl there, and could not start thinking when I would be back. This time I decided to try breakfast option- something with eggs. I decided to go with a breakfast burrito, and I loved it! Super thin wrap, with delicious potato, avocado, veggies and egg inside, you can also add bacon or else if you want! I liked how soft, hot and tender the insides were. Sauce deserves separate attention- it tastes like a little spicy eggplant something, very delicious, it's mix with burrito was a great choice! AVO toast with boiled egg was amazing too! One of the things I like here- informal ambience of the place inside, colorful graffitis and wall paintings.

I was craving an Açaí bowl and this place seemed like a solid option with great reviews. This place did not disappoint! I got the Power Up Açaí Bowl. I picked this bowl instead of creating my own because the premade bowls have better tee r bases in my opinion. The Power Up Bowl base was made of açaí, almond butter, cacao, maca, resihi, almond milk, banana, vanilla. I could really taste the banana and vanilla which I enjoyed, and I still got that acai flavor too. There were plenty of toppings on my bowl too. Overall, a pretty good acai bowl but kinda pricey at $14.95 but The Hive is in Santa Monica so things are just more expensive.

This is my go to place for lunch especially when I'm feeling a healthy lunch. I'm really impressed with this place and have been eating here for years. Please keep it up.

A great place for the health-conscious! The HIVE is located in a very convenient area in downtown Santa Monica, close to many other shops, the promenade, the beach, etc. I love that there are cute picnic like benches as outside seating; it makes for a wonderful group gathering location. They have a standard cafe menu here, as well as various breakfast items, smoothies, and macro bowls/cold bowls. You can even build your own! My bf ordered the breakfast burrito here. It came with salsa, which helped, but the burrito itself could have used more flavor. We had to salt it outselves. I ordered the Shroom Macro Bowl. The dressing as very flavorful and packed a zesty spicy punch, but it also could've been salted better. Docking a star because the food had lots of potential, but we had to salt it ourselves for better flavor. I also got a "Chaggaccino" which is basically a mushroom latte made with honey, cinnamon, cacao? TBH, it tasted just like a normal latte, just a bit earthier. No hint of mushroom at all, but supposedly "Chaga" is filled with lots of great antioxidants! Friendly staff, lots of indoor and outdoor seating, street parking all around - great place for brunch, coffee, or a healthy post workout snack! I did love feeling good about eating something so nutritious after this meal!

We stopped on in one morning, before heading downtown. We had many requests for different breakfast options and this was the perfect place to stop in! It's located along a main road, next to a couple other good spots. We've been on the block three times on our trip! The options included, smoothies, a delight breakfast sandwich (more later), breakfast burritos as well as breakfast bowls and toasts. Lots of options for lots of palates and everyone left happy! The breakfast sandwich wasn't something I was expecting a ton from, but it was downright amazing! The biggest win was the bread - thinner sliced ciabatta that was both crispy and light. Ciabatta tends to be so substantial that it makes the sandwich innards seem less significant. Not so here! A good runny egg, some delicious bacon and great fixins. The smoothies were plentiful and delicious. The salmon toast was also a delight- the favorite part was the dual runny egg. Done perfectly and the perfect complement to the toast. Coffee and iced tea was solid. The folks working here were very nice and helpful. They got things done quick and were very friendly. The place has a colorful theme and a great vibe. Glad we got to check it out and it's a place we'll likely stop again!

Really happy place here. Delicious food and so many options for so many diets. The service is impeccable with really kind staff. We enjoyed the rieshi latte, the superfood wrap and the right start wrap which was essentially a healthy breakfast burrito. All of their bowls you can enjoy as wraps and they also have delicious donuts. I enjoyed a peppermint cacao doughnut that was vegan gluten-free and refined sugar-free. And it was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place. Great for to go food but you can stop in and eat food here. I love how many healthy options there are. Definitely will be coming back here!

While on my walk to the office I walked past this gem. I'm glad I did, I only ordered the breakfast burrito with no meat. One of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had. I forgot the lady who took my order and payment but she was friendly and nice. They do have a wall painted that says Bee Yourself which was nice to see. I would definitely come back when I'm in the area.

Hands down the absolute best salad I've ever had the service was friendly and helpful got the crimson salad for my daughter and the bbq ranch dark meat chicken salad for my self portions were huge flavors were phenomenal with a hint of a Mexican twist was amazing in every bite if your looking for healthy and refreshing stop on by you won't regret it

What a great change of scenery and food. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and waited just a short bit to order our build your own bowls. I enjoyed my warm bowl, which was in fact served warm. I would definitely prefer my food to be a lot hotter. However the fresh, delicious items made up for it. Servers are warm and friendly. We will definitely be back.

Such a great spot! We did a build your own warm bowl and added so many veggies. For protein we tried the carnitas mushrooms which were very delicious and a poached egg. We also ordered the original acai bowl, which was a huge serving. The service was very kind and patient and gave great descriptions of the food. The ambiance was fun and upbeat. You can sit inside or out. If I could eat this every day I would!

I got a BYO warm bowl doordashed! I had quinoa, cilantro, sweet corn, cucumber, tomatoes, pulled chicken, salmon, hemp seeds, and the cilantro lime vinaigrette on the side. The portion size was good for a light healthy lunch --'if you're not looking for something heavy or eating lunch a couple hours before a workout, the BYO bowl is a good option here. I liked how the vinaigrette portion wasn't overwhelming either, dressing and sauces and seem to be overdone usually at restaurants so it's good to see the hive is actually intentional and health conscious with this. The utensils are also earth friendly. Overall the bowl was good; the only thing is the salmon add on was a bit expensive for the size of it. But would recommend the hive for a healthy light lunch!!!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! The coffee is smooth, the food is tasty, the smoothies are fresh and fruity and the service is affable and accommodating. I always feel like such a pain in the a** when I make a special request (iced latte less milk, dry cappuccino, adding sugar prior to brewing). But no matter who is behind the counter, they happily oblige. And despite my disdain for vegan baked goods, their doughnuts have become one of my favorite treats in the city.

Was excited to try the açaí at The Hive, but was unfortunately disappointed. My friends and I all ordered The Hive classic açaí bowl, and we all felt that the açaí was not flavorful and a bit thin. The toppings were good and fresh, but sadly the açaí was not up to our standards. I ordered the almond butter as an add-on but wasn't a big fan of it either. The inside and ambiance are very nice, so if you're not looking for açaí, this might be a nice place to visit. Street parking is pretty easy to find by the shop.

Stopped here after yoga on Saturday and had a lovely, healthy breakfast. We ordered the Noriega omelet and a pitaya bowl and both were totally delicious. I didn't love the drinks we chose--not sure if the straw was giving the tea a funny taste and the turmeric latte fell a bit flat for me. But overall, the service was great and the cafe itself is cute with some fun other things to buy -- the Canadian gummy candies and the Mezcla bars are now on my "must-have" list!

A very small and cute coffee shop near the beach (ish). Loved the bee-themed and artsy/hipster inside. I got a lavender coffee drink and it was delicious. Wifi was decent too! The music was a bit loud though so not sure if it's the best study spot. All in all, I would come back again if I was in the area. Parking is street parking and can be difficult to find.

Most people I know love The Hive and if you want (mostly) organic options and don't mind paying a high price tag for it, it's definitely one of the best neighborhood options. I haven't been so impressed by the food though. Maybe I haven't tried enough of it. Also, a few times my partner and I ordered smoothies that I asked to have the bee-pollen left out of (because I'm slightly allergic to it) and aside from the bee polleny flavor, I could tell by my body's reaction (very itchy throat and slightly upset stomach), that it had been left in. It only happened twice, but for some people, who are highly allergic that could spell disaster, so best to make very sure before trusting it was done if you have any food allergies. (That's probably true everywhere.) It's a fairly nice place to sit for a meeting, not super-noisy and seating albeit not super comfy, is well-spread out which helps to facilitate private conversations and for those, for whom it is a concern, social distancing. They work with other delivery services, such as GrubHub, UberEats, etc., but again, I think a lot of business do now a-days. Customer service is generally very friendly. I teetered between giving a 3 and a 4-star rating, but given they have 4.5 stars, figured I'd list my review were I myself would place it. I'll update it if I have a more wowing experience there, but given their prices, it's unlikely I'll return. They do make great smoothies and my partner (who's not on Yelp) would have given them 4-stars for what it's worth.

I've been passing from this store and I was wondering if it was the same close to my house, the one right there is 2 sizes, and I think one is $10 and $12 after that they don't charge anything else you ask for, and they have mostly everything the name is true Bowl at Whittier, my point is, I didn't like the prices from the hive because they're charging you for almost everything, if you are close to Whittier I do recommend stop by the true bowl.

I ordered a smoothie bowl first and my friend ordered a grain bowl after me. My smoothie bowl came out almost 10 minutes after hers. The bowl was good but it was missing granola. The portions are relatively small. Good healthy place to go after a workout or beach day or snack during your working day. Parking isn't great around this area but there are meters up the side streets. They have a water station and free wifi

Absolutely freaking adorable cafe. Had a lovely breakfast sandwich and latte here. Love the Bee theme. They let my dog inside too and he loved the vibe. Cute selection of chocolates, honey, books and more. I'm mildly infatuated with this place now. Super friendly staff. Amazing menu of choices, breakfast, açaí bowls, smoothies, coffees. And more!

After having a pretty early breakfast and chilling on the beach I wanted a hot beverage. I really was craving a coffee but I'm not drinking it at the moment so I searched for places serving Turmeric lattes and the Hive was the first option. Checked out the menu online and sure enough they had a turmeric drink called the Golden Latte. The drink includes turmeric, cinnamon, honey, almond milk, and pepper for $4.95.   In addition to teas and coffees you can purchase some healthy bites at reasonable prices and dine in our out, they also accept to go orders.   It's a really cute café and I love the outside seating area, perfect for people watching. The service was pretty good! There was a little mix up with my order, I ordered a Golden Latte but was given a Pumpkin Spice Latte, the two drinks don't sound alike but I'm sure the person had trouble hearing me through my mask. Any way no hassle at all, the correct order was made and I was offered the pumpkin latte also but I passed since I'm not drinking coffee and was dining solo.    Unfortunately I wasn't a fan of the latte; so far no luck finding a decent turmeric latte in the L.A. area. It wasn't flavorful and had a strange taste. I hate wasting money so I finished as much as I could while sitting outside enjoying the perfect fall weather.

I am Mortified. I ordered baked goods for 10 people. 10 items. The items came in a bag and made it look like it was for 3 people. They crammed everything in 3 small paper bags. I would think a they would have a better presentation. I ordered it for an office and now they have to touch them all to even see what is in each bag. Yuck! In a time of covid, that really is not acceptable. They did not even add two of the items I ordered. Who knows if I will get a refund.

Grabbed an acai bowl to go for the movies. It was really good! I ordered the classic and it came with bananas, strawberries and granola, which indeed, is about the standard. One of my pet peeves about to go acai bowls is it tends to be a melted mess by the time I reach my destination, but mine was still very chilled and presentable. I look forward to trying this or one of their other bowls again!

Every single staff member we encountered was great vibes. When people go out of their way to be cool and spend just a little extra energy and focus to ensure you have a good experience - it takes a place that already serves great food and pushes it over the top. The Hive - your people are great people.

Back again and wish I didn't have to do this but I have to...honestly this is one of my go-to spots but yesterday I saw this while I was eating. Just hope it's a one off...

A slice of heaven. Delicious healthy, hearty options and a quality range. All their baked goods are both gluten-free and vegan. The shop is cute and the staff is incredibly nice. They clearly of proud of what they do and care about the customer.

It's easy to eat unhealthy in LA but it's also very easy to eat healthy...we were looking around for a healthy place to get an early breakfast and came upon the Hive. I ordered a latte, toast with fruit, and a parfait. All simple but healthy and flavorful. We snagged a nice seat out front to get some sun and people watch. Happy with our food and the beautiful location of the Hive.

So fresh and tasty. Highly recommend. I had the matcha mint chip smoothie and kale Caesar. Both were unique and flavorful with lots of textural variety. I was thrilled that the smoothie was not sugary sweet like most smoothies. Can't wait to order from The Hive again.

Visiting Southern California for a funeral this week and decided to step out this morning for breakfast. I haphazardly found this place and ordered a breakfast burrito which was really good and tasted healthy. 22 bucks though? For one burrito? That damn pandemic increased the price on everything It was a nice atmosphere though. Everyone seemed all healthy and stuff. I guess that's the Cali way.
