19 LA Restaurants We’re Pretty Sure Are Haunted - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Compared to the many storied spots on this list, the rooftop bar and restaurant at Madame Tussaud’s is in its infancy. But don’t let the newness fool you, the spirit realm is flocking here. And how could it not? The first thing you see out of the elevator is a taxidermied—excuse us, wax-sculpted—Zendaya in a galactic fuschia Tom Ford dress and Marilyn Monroe downing a martini. James Dean and Scarlett Johanssen are also on site. You’ll eat decent concession-y things like cheese puffs with tomato soup and a burger with bleu cheese sauce that’s poured tableside for some reason, but the food is secondary. You’re here to take sunset selfies and feel the hair on your neck stand up after swearing the unblinking Will Smith moved a few inches when your head was turned." - brant cox

World-Renowned Party Spot Sushi Samba Is Bringing Japanese Brazilian Vibes to West Hollywood - Eater LA

"The Hollywood Restaurant & Bar at Madame Tussauds opened over the summer and SF Gate captured the scene at the wax museum’s on-site eatery. After trying the burger, Buffalo chicken flatbread, pumpkin cheesecake while sipping on an Old Fashioned, editor Karen Palmer hung out with Leonardo DiCaprio, Will Smith, and braids-era Zendaya. Palmer writes, 'The rooftop restaurant debuted in early August, and while it’s not exactly four-star dining, hear me out: It’s weird. It’s fun. It feels quintessentially Hollywood.'" - Mona Holmes

The Hollywood Rooftop Restaurant & Bar At Madame Tussaud’s Review - Hollywood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Much like choosing to eat lunch with dolls at The American Girl Cafe, the only way you’re having fun at The Hollywood Rooftop Restaurant & Bar by Madame Tussauds (full name) is if you embrace the tourist trap campiness of it all. And how could you not? The first thing you see stepping off the elevator is a taxidermied—excuse us, wax-sculpted—Zendaya in a galactic fuschia Tom Ford number and Marilyn Monroe downing a martini. James Dean and Scarlett Johanssen are also on-site. You’ll eat decent concession-y things like cheese puffs with tomato soup and a burger with bleu cheese sauce that’s poured tableside for some reason, but the food is beside the point. And so are the tiki-inspired cocktails. You’re here to skip the museum (you don’t need a ticket to come up), wander around the massive (and mostly empty) space, and take ironic sunset selfies with an unblinking Will Smith." - Brant Cox

LA’s New Restaurant Openings

"At this rooftop spot in the heart of Hollywood, you can have a drink next to a wax figure of Zendaya. And Leonardo Di Caprio, too. It’s all a bit absurd, sure, but it also feels right on brand for one of the Walk of Fame’s premier tourist traps. If you’re genuinely interested in dining at Madame Tussauds, you’ll find standard fare like burgers, grilled salmon, and a buffalo chicken flatbread to pair with one of the bar’s tiki-esque cocktails." - sylvio martins

Google
This was a great place to eat. Not only was the food delicious, but you get to meet celebrity wax figures. Staff was awesome and nice. Fun place to hang out in Hollywood.

Abby Seggelke

Google
Not sure what I was expecting on the blvd but the food blew me away. The garlic cheese puffs with tomato bisque, incredible. Ahi nachos, amazing. Manny, truly kind spirit who made the whole experience even better. Will definitely recommend.

Bryan Sosa

Google
The whole experience was PHENOMENAL!!! Sage our server and bartender made us some mystery drinks where you choose your Spirit and they come up with the rest! I asked for something on the sweeter side and it was perfect. They were two of the most delicious drinks in LA . Definitely a must stop and try with the perfect ambiance. They also have a killer happy hour.

vanessa roccella

Google
Joshua is the BEST server I’ve ever had. He was so kind and truly gave the birthday girl a special VIP exclusive hollywood experience! Josh needs to be promoted, such a great great human.

Google
This place was so good! From start to finish, we had an amazing experience. We stumbled upon the restaurant by accident for lunch. We enjoyed the Happy Hour menu which had great options. Our server Abigail was attentive and helpful with recommendations. We tried the Mystery cocktail (I chose whiskey on the sweet side) and it was so refreshing! Definitely recommend the tuna nachos….very high end and delicious. We will definitely be coming back

Lorraine Calzada

Google
I loved the atmosphere, great music and friendly service. The figures look so real, it’s amazing to dine with the STARS! The food was great, grilled steak flatbread is definitely worth trying and Diamond’s are a girls best friend cheesecake was everything!! The baker street martini was my favorite

Trevor Kravits

Google
Hannah was absolutely fantastic. I came in with a large group and she made us all feel at home and in the fantasy land of Hollywood all at once. Service was prompt, her recommendations were DELIGHTFUL. Can’t wait to come back!

GA YA

Google
We ate there after our visit to Madame Tussaud and the food was really good. Quirky venue with some wax personalities sitting randomly in the venue. Nice atmosphere and good service

Sawyer R.

Yelp
Never knew there was a restaurant here! The food is surprisingly really good and our server Joshua made sure everything was perfect! Would definitely come back :) the box office burger was my favorite XD
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
Really fun place to go before a show or just to hang on the roof top You get the benefit of seeing some of the wax replicas which was crazy real Food was good and service very good
google avatar

Yelp
Terrific service!! I also highly recommend the "mystery drinks (see photos) you just name your liquor and poof a concoction is created. We loved our specialty drinks. We had appetizers to share and split the spicy chicken sandwich. All of the food was fresh and tasted good! We were attending a musical at the Dolby so it was an afternoon visit. My only drawback is that getting to this spot was kinda hectic as its prime tourist destination. Also the rooftop IS a rooftop - but doesn't necessarily offer any views etc. so I was kinda warm at my table! But would highly recommend if you're in the area for an event.
google avatar

Sejal S.

Yelp
The restaurant is hidden away so there isn't much crowd. We went during happy hour. The atmosphere is very laid back with good 2000s music. The staff were nice and service was quick. The food was great. We only did appetizers and drinks but you got to dine with the stars!
google avatar

Samantha P.

Yelp
10/10! The space itself it gorgeous, the workers are super kind, our waiter was such a gem to interact with! The food was also top tier! We visited during happy hour, tried a few mystery cocktails, 4 in total and all of them were great! The ahi tuna nachos are amazing and I highly recommend n

Yelp
Food was delicious, but the service, location and setting were underwhelming. There is no view, so don't expect that. The wax figurines were few and far between. The overall ambiance felt slow and dull... but again the fold was delicious. We went at 6 pm on a Monday.
google avatar

Deric L.

Yelp
It was a vibe! We came here with a reservation after walking through the museum downstairs. We just had kite bites and cocktails during happy hour bc we had dinner reservations. We tried the pretzel bites and the chips n dips. We also had the mystery (bar tender's choice) drinks. You just tell them what type of liquor you prefer and they make a custom drink for you. The ambience is really nice. I'm taking one star away bc they advertise 1/2 price appetizers (8$) but you're only getting less than half of the original sized and priced food. That's not really a deal. See pics for HH sizes.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best meals I've had in Hollywood. I ordered the pasta after Judy described it.  She checked in just the right amount and made sure we had everything we needed before we even asked. We left full and happy! We'll be coming back here for our next visit!

Emilia R.

Yelp
The steak sandwich here was absolutely incredible - juicy, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. We sat up on the rooftop with a great food and even better vibes. Judy took care of us and honestly, she's a gem! Super witty, fun to chat with, and gave us the confidence to try something new. Ask for Judy - she elevates the whole experience!
google avatar

Adalhi V.

Yelp
The vibes, the food, and our server judy - 10/10 across the board! We came up just for a drink and ended up staying for dinner thanks to Judy's amazing recommendations. The ahi tuna nachos are a MUST. Judy had the perfect balance of being attentive and letting us enjoy the evening. She even remembered our names!

Jacob g.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch and was blown away by the vibe - and the steak entree, which was perfect. Judy was our server and she had the BEST energy. Friendly, quick, and gave great recs all around. We felt like VIPs the whole time. Will definitely be recommending this spot to friends
google avatar

Claudine L.

Yelp
The server was cool and gave suggestions on drinks and I'm glad I listened because I really enjoyed my drink. I had a burger it had good flavor I just wish the texture was better. Also the bread was quite thick. I did like the potato wedges. The waiter did forget to put an item in. He did admit that so he went ahead and canceled the item. Overall if was pretty decent and worth a try especially for drinks.
google avatar

Sal C.

Yelp
The waitress Judy was exceptional. The ambiance was impeccable. The cuisine was delectable, and the restrooms were immaculate. Also, took pictures with celebs!!! Thanks Judy!!!

Taylor Z.

Yelp
Visiting from Australia, my family and I had such a memorable experience thanks to Judith. From the moment we walked in, she made us feel right at home with her warm and genuine hospitality. She gave us the best happy hour recommendations (try the ahi tuna nachos - unreal!) and even surprised us with a mystery cocktail that ended up being the highlight of our night. We felt so welcomed and taken care of.

Yelp
Definitely a cute place to bring out of town guests. Even for a local like me, I thought it was really cute. Happy hour was great...we dropped in just for a quick drink - $9 wine and 1/2 off appetizers. The ahi nachos were absolutely delicious & had legit spice to it. Make sure you request no jalapenos if you don't enjoy spice. The restaurant is part of Madam Tousouds, it's right past the chinese theater where they have the foot/hand prints of the celebrities. When I first entered the restaurant, I noticed they placed a few celebrity figures around the restaurant. Some looked so real I didn't realize it was a prop. There are many tables to dine and also plenty of comfortable couches setup where you can get a small group together for an outing. Overall, the prices are reasonable, their happy hour was great but it's only from 3 to 6pm. This place is right smack in the middle of hollywood so there will be a lot of tourists everywhere. Street parking would be hard depending on the day. My suggestion is to park at The Ovation (formerly known as Hollywood and Highland). Most of the businesses located with the ovation will provide you validation with purchase and it'll be an easy 5 to 7 min walk. Max parking is $20 so much cheaper to park here then most of the lots in the area. An even better option is to take the metro redline in - leave your car elsewhere. Service, food and ambiance were all great - if I'm ever in the area, I'd definitely stop by again.

Yelp
Decided to try this restaurant out instead of eating at the usual chain restaurants offered around Hollywood Blvd and the walk of fame. I brought my family here after what I'd assume to be peak hours on a Sunday lunch rush. There were only 2 other parties at the time so I assumed service would be quick. From the time we got our order in to when our table received the food, we had waited around 50 minutes for a party of 6 (5 adults + 1 kid). This alone made my parents really upset due to it being not busy. I tried not to be too upset because I know some places can be understaffed but I do wish there could have been something our server could have offered us for waiting for so long. You also get charged an automatic gratuity for being over a party of 5 which pissed my parents off for the service they received. Aside from the wait, I thought the food tasted really well. I ordered the buffalo chicken flat bread and really enjoyed it. I liked that the flatbread didn't taste stale, it was chewy and crispy even with all the toppings on it. We also ordered the Wild Mushroom Gnocchi - which was perfectly cooked, not super mushy and addictive to eat, the Grilled Steak Flatbread, and a kids Flatbread pizza. I would recommend trying this place out if you are in the area or visiting madame tussauds, maybe you'll receive a better experience than my family did! Food is solid and being able to take pics with the figures was cool. I hope in the future they would add fans, misting fans, or more shade because LA tends to get hot and/or humid during the warmer months. Possibly also try to get rid of the urine smell around the restaurant.

Tim ..

Yelp
This place is great! My wife and I had an early dinner before a show at the Bowl and ate off the happy hour menu - Ahi Nachos, bomb. Cheese Puffs (not what you are thinking!), bomb. Pretzel bites (with beer cheese), bomb. Wife had to get seconds on the Ahi nachos, so I went with the skirt steak. A bit overcooked, but delicious nonetheless. And Kelsey was a sweetheart, took care of us, and comped a couple of glasses of champagne for the overcook (yet delicious) steak! Great experience, great service, and highly recommended!
google avatar

Jamie S.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this rooftop restaurant! I typically avoid Hollywood Blvd, but had a guest in town and decided to go to Madame Tussaud's. We added on appetizers at this restaurant and absolutely loved our experience. We got the ahi tuna tacos and pretzel bites and both were delicious -- the tacos portion is massive, and the tuna is really fresh. The pretzels come with cheese and mustard and were piping hot. We also enjoyed getting to take pictures with some of the wax figures like Marilyn Monroe and James Dean. Our server, Abby, was one of the best I've ever had -- checked in on us frequently and was so friendly and helpful. I would say they need some more umbrellas or shaded areas, especially on days when it will be crowded (we lucked out with a fairly empty rooftop so we could pick a shaded table). Otherwise, though, I loved it and would absolutely come back!
google avatar

Peter S.

Yelp
An automatic service charge of 19.5% is this even legal? Calling some attorneys too see if this qualifies as a class action. The bartender said they do it because it's a tourist location and the Europeans do not tip. Um so I can't leave a 15% tip nope automatic 19.5% is this legal?
google avatar

ANGELA J.

Yelp
It's a cool vibe and especially for out of town guests. The food was average and I wouldn't make a special trip to return. Is it a place I would intentionally go back to? Probably not. We still had a good time.

Sergio G.

Yelp
We came for a casual date night and ended up having one of our favorite meals in L.A. - all thanks to Judy. She suggested the salmon entrée, which was cooked to perfection and paired with the perfect glass of wine. Her vibe is so cool and professional, and her menu knowledge made choosing easy. We'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Liza C.

Yelp
Stopped by to kill an hour before dinner reservations and the drinks were great. The service was fast and very friendly and the setting was nice and comfy. Can't wait to go back again.

Isaiah G.

Yelp
We shared a bunch of small plates tonight and every single dish was fire. Judy was the best! She made us laugh, remembered our drink orders, and made sure everything came out just right. The rooftop is beautiful. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Azita Z.

Yelp
Horrible experience. Bad service. Cold food . Our server Jon Micheal didn't even ask us if you need more drinks. Hr brought our food 30 minutes after we ordered cold. The place wasn't even crowded and had too many servers.

Devra ..

Yelp
our server Josh was friendly, funny and knowledgable. He made great meal and drink recommendations. We loved the Poke Nachos!

Andrew G.

Yelp
Had an amazing time at the Hollywood rooftop! Judy was super sweet and helpful and made my first time experience extremely memorable. The chicken Buffalo flatbread was delicious, definitely hit the spot. Will definetly be coming back!

Joseph B.

Yelp
Wonderful little spot! Stumbled upon this hidden gem and was pleasantly surprised - we enjoyed the tiki flight and the ahi tuna nachos which were delicious. The whole staff was very friendly, and our server Josh was lovely. Highly recommend!

Jerry A.

Yelp
Food was very unsatisfactory. Ordered the wedge, instead of a quarter iceberg lettuce. Got gem Romaine instead with the weakest blue cheese dressing I've ever had. Location is good being on Hollywood Blvd across from the El Capitain theater.
google avatar

Christian S.

Yelp
Campy and ridiculous and I loved it...This atmosphere is so silly and fun. Eating pretzel bites and guacamole next to wax figures of Leonardo DiCaprio, Zendaya, and Scarlett Johansson? I'm IN. The experience was made even more wonderful by our server Abby who was genuinely so hilarious. Abby, if you read this, you're the shit and we loved you. She had us cracking up every time she would check in. And for what some might label a "tourist trap," the food was solid! I ordered the mushroom gnocchi which was actually bomb and I would totally order again. Plus, the drinks were delicious. I will absolutely be back!
google avatar

Lora C.

Yelp
Fun place to eat on the rooftop of Madame Tussaud's wax museum. First, make a reservation on the Open Table app. When you arrive, the host at the ground floor entrance will guide you to the elevator to the rooftop. Lots of fun mannequins to pose with on the rooftop among the tables. The service was good and so was the food, but it's pricey and they automatically add 19.5% gratuity to the bill without saying anything. We read it on the menu, but it was a little conspicuous when they failed to deliver the itemized receipt initially -- had to ask to see it. Also got overcharged for wine, but everything else was so good, I let it slide. A good time and was convenient since it's across the street from the Jimmy Kimmel show. The flatbread pizza was delicious! Restrooms are decent, but it's all unisex.
google avatar

Meghan R.

Yelp
An undiscovered gem in the heart of Hollywood. Gorgeous views, amazing photo-ops. Thanks to our lovely server Joshua who helped us navigate the tiki-inspired cocktail menu with confidence and panache. 5 stars - a local

Jordan B.

Yelp
Staff is always friendly and we love the extended happy hour times! Joshua & Chris always makes us feel so welcome and take great care. Hannah, Yasmin and Will are also some of our favs :) such a gem in Hollywood!
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
From first arriving and being greeted at the rooftop, we felt very welcomed. Everyone was so sweet and welcoming. Service was extremely exceptional, our waiter was very attentive and answered any questions we had...should've got his name They were playing some good music and the vibes felt like we were in Palm Springs on a mini vacation. I had a Mai Thai, and this was the first time ever that it wasn't too strong where all you taste is alcohol. It was perfect with a hint of a little sweetness. All of their food was so good ! But their chicken flatbread was my favorite, it was packed with soooo much flavor. A must try for an appetizer! For my entree I had their steak sandwich with fries and that meat was so tender and flavored! Fries were crispy and bomb.
google avatar

Cassidy H.

Yelp
the vibes are so good here. big thanks to josh for keeping our group happy. he's a super attentive server and talented, with a fantastic personality!! love that they have some of the sculptures up here. my favorite dish was the asada street taco trio. delicious!! will be sure to come back!

Madison M.

Yelp
Joshua is amazing. Had such great personality and really made the experience one to remember!!! Food was also great. The Ambiance was so fun.
google avatar

Holly R.

Yelp
we loved our visit to the Hollywood Rooftop Restaurant & Bar. The waiter was attentive , the food was delicious, the open area was nicely decorated and the movie stars present added a fun, hollywood touch. We will be back!

Jamila W.

Yelp
Manny was amazing. please keep manny foreverrrrr!! we love him! thank u for our service
google avatar

Calliope F.

Yelp
an amazing experience, food was made to perfection so delicious. Cheese puffs were a hit to our little ones and adult. Skirt steak and Salmon was lovely prepared every bite was so so tasty. Dessert was delicious we had a slice of cheesecake. Everyone was so welcoming, service was fast and most importantly friendly. The atmosphere was so relaxing and it was a great experience for our first time! Ms Shirley Head chef thank you for stoping by everyone enjoyed every bite. We hope to be back soon!
google avatar

Marianne V.

Yelp
We had a great experience at the Hollywood Rooftop Restaurant. Great ambiance on a beautiful day! We started with the pretzel bites and cheese puffs. Both were great! My nephew couldn't stop eating the cheese sauce that came with the pretzel bites. We had the classic burger and asada tacos! Delicious! The service was great and they were kind enough to bring us dessert for our anniversary along with a hand written card! Everyone was so sweet!
google avatar

Teri H.

Yelp
It's a bit strange to dine among the wax stars all scattered all over the place. That is the appeal I guess. The space is nice, food okay. It was accessible by elevator, so don't have to see Museum to go up for a drink. No view. Not sure that we'd go back, a novelty.

Anna R.

Yelp
Ambience is nice and it's very neat to see a few wax figures of celebrities. Abigail was great and recommended a delicious drink, brown derby. Bruschetta flat bread was good and kids Mac n cheese my son said was delicious. The only thing, after we left I saw on their website they have daily happy hour, which was during the time we were there, but not sure why it wasn't mentioned or a happy hour menu wasn't offered? Perhaps their site is not updated?
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
Food was absolutely delicious! The best potato wedges I've had in my life, tons of flavor not just your standard potatoes with salt. The spicy chicken sandwich was also amazing and had great flavor. The bartender Dee was absolutely fantastic. I was here killing some time before heading to the airport and am SO glad I did. When I come back to town I'll definitely pop in here and try to come for happy hour which sounds fabulous! Also it's at the top of the Madame Tussauds building and has some fun wax statues of celebrities scattered around the place for a fun unique atmosphere!
google avatar

Claudia G.

Yelp
From the moment we arrived, I was impressed with the service we received. Friendly hostess, beautiful decor, and fast service. The umbrellas, along with the heaters, were great. I tried the roasted chicken, and my boyfriend had the salmon. Both were perfect! The potatoes were my favorite, but I could eat potatoes daily. The appetizer and the Flatbread was cooked fresh and to perfection. I can't wait to go back! The staff was very attentive and friendly as well.
google avatar

Nancy F.

Yelp
The food was exceptional good, and the service was excellent and quick and reasonable prices! The atmosphere was special! And the have a wax museum that just topped off our dinner plans!

Joe M.

Yelp
Food was great, wait staff was amazing! When I fly in you can bet you'll catch me here enjoying my time at your great establishmen! See you soon!
google avatar

Phillip C.

Yelp
Delicious food and good vibes. Had the skirt steak which was cooked to perfection. Salmon was great too. Ahi tuna nachos are the perfect appetizer. And of course you can't go wrong with their refreshing paloma! Good scene to chill at after work in Hollywood.
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
Really good time. I neat to look at the wax figures. Food was very special, and the staff was very attentive
google avatar

Ashley E.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing! The chef, Hakim, puts his heart and soul to into these dishes. Our server Vanessa was phenomenal as well. And so was Josh/john (I'm so sorry if that's incorrect) who took amazing pictures for us, all angles. Highly recommend :)
google avatar

Randall R.

Yelp
First and foremost, Abi was wonderful! The flatbreads were the best we've had in a long, long time, and the street tacos were light, flavorful, and filling. When we chose to swing in for lunch we had no idea what we were in for. The ambiance and service were great!
