The Hot Stop is a solid spot! It's a great for families, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and a welcoming environment. Perfect for a casual meal with the crew. Definitely recommend! Checking it out!

Google
Absolutely outstanding! I visited The Hop Stop for the first time on a Wednesday evening and had such a great experience that I came back the very next day for brunch! The atmosphere, both inside and out is welcoming, vibrant, and perfect for any occasion. The staff and the owner are truly best in class. They go above and beyond to make you feel right at home, which speaks volumes about the heart behind this place. Delicious food, top-tier service, and a setting that makes you want to stay awhile. The Hop Stop is an absolute gem.

Google
Local restaurant with great food & beer on tap. We ordered the cheeseburger, roasted chicken sandwich, grilled cheese sandwich, dirty tots, and kid's macaroni & cheese. All sandwiches came with a side of salad, tater tots, french fries or sweet potato fries. While all the food was good, our favorite was the dirty tots, which came nicely crunchy on a bed of their special creamy white Hop Stop sauce & topped with cheese, bacon & green onions. Definitely a good dish to share.

Google
I didn't eat because I'm gluten free and I don't know that they had anything but they had June shine and they have really nice outdoor seating. They also appeared to allow dogs cuz there were quite a few in there which was really cool.

Sydney Nitzel

Google
We ordered the west coast burger with tots and a single burger with no cheese in a lettuce wrap and tots. The burgers were good, however, the lettuce wrap still had the cheese even though we specifically asked for no cheese. Other than that the food was good and the outside seating area was very comfortable.

Google
Great outdoor pet & kid friendly. Food is good, but go for the beers and special brews.

My doggy and I went for brunch. Had the pork hash and a outstanding Serpent's stout.

Google
Open air bar with plenty of outdoor seating. Food menu is varied and intriguing. House burger was excellent and fries crispy!

Yelp
Great local spot with fun trivia nights. I love the outdoor seating area for casual drinks with friends/family. They are also very dog friendly.

Yelp
Much better bar food than your typical brewery. Although I probably wouldn't order again what we chose this past Sunday. The breading for the fried pickles were far too salty for my taste. While I felt the bone-in wings were dry, the boneless wings were juicier, but I didn't love either of the sauces. Definitely wouldn't come back here for the wings, but I've been here a few times before and really enjoyed some of their other menu items. I would absolutely try their other burgers, since the West Coast burger was pretty good. I do wish they toasted the buns as the bread was a lil soggy which I'm sure could have been a result of the bbq sauce as well. I really love how dogs are welcome and there's plenty of outdoor seating and heaters. There are also plenty of seats indoor as well. Overall I feel the environment is very airy and laid back. A fun place to gather with friends to catch a game while enjoying yummy food and bev.

Yelp
This is a nice brew for pub in my hometown. They have a good amount of variety of beers. They also have 4-5 wines. Decided to try their burgers. They are okay, both were well done. We like our burgers medium. I didn't finish mine. Could also use more seasoning. Fries are really good, they have a coating that makes them crunchy. Will be back to try other items. They have many TV's with sports on. Indoor and outdoor seating. They have live music on the weekends. Dog friendly. Service was attentive. You order at bar and they bring your food.

Vida K.

Yelp
casual outdoor or indoor seating. $5 hop stop classic beers during the football game. Slightly expensive otherwise but in the heart of old Poway/Midland and usually easy parking situation.

Mandi B.

Yelp
Always good to stop here for a beer when I'm in town visiting friends. Occasionally we catch live music, which is great. The patio is often filled with young families and their pups as it is a dog-friendly space. The happy hour is great and the food is fairly typical offerings. The vegan burrito is advertised as a caulifower burrito, but there were more green peppers than there was cauliflower or beans, so I'd like them to adjust that. Maybe it was an off day in the kitchen. All in all, will continue to pop in here for beers and chill hangs.

Melanie P.

Yelp
Since I had to go to this place for an event, I couldn't help but take my dog to this pup friendly establishment! Love the outdoor patio, milk bone treats, and water bowl for your dog! Staff is super friendly and I like that this place is in Old Town Poway. Fave Item: Ube Beer! I've not seen this in many places, and I completely love the taste of Ube in Draft form! It's not mentioned anywhere in Yelp, and I'm surprised! Tips: Happy Hour M-Th 4-6PM Trivia Night every Monday! They also serve breakfast.

Kelly D.

Yelp
Such a fun brunch spot! You order at the bar inside (great bartenders/servers)! We tried the canned mimosas but preferred ours the traditional way. The outside sitting area was fun for the kids to play while we waited for our food. Large tables and space in between them so it was easy to get around. Water stations were so nice and convenient! The fountain soda area was also out side and accessible, kids loved getting their own drinks! We will be back!

Yelp
Tucked away in the heart of old town Poway, we stumbled upon this hidden gem, The Hop Stop, after a show. Arriving around 7 on a rainy Saturday night, we found shelter in the well-organized space, opting for a cozy spot at the bar since the outdoor seating was drenched. Despite the potential parking issues (which we barely noticed in our rush to get inside), the ambiance was very nice once we settled in. Two friendly bartenders, maybe owners, took the time to guide us through beer choices and menu options despite the busy crowd. While a slight delay was expected given the bar's busyness, our food arrived promptly, and the drinks flowed smoothly. Speaking of drinks, we opted for The Hop Stop blonde, a delightful collaboration with Karl Strauss, and the Chai Me a River, bursting with chai goodness. Both were light and refreshing. Our shared Cheesesteak with sweet waffle fries hit the spot. While the cheesesteak didn't break any culinary boundaries, it delivered a satisfying mix of meat, veggies, and gooey cheese--nothing flashy, but certainly not disappointing. In the end, The Hop Stop proved to be a charming spot for drinks and bites. Despite the average cheesesteak, the overall experience was a positive one, leaving us with the desire to return for another round. If you're up for a cool spot in old town Poway, give this place a shot - rain or shine!

Yelp
First time here with all of my kids. 6 kids and it was comfortable. Great food, friendly service, plenty of space. Giant Jenga and other cool games for the family. IPAs were solid. Definitely coming back for more.

Jason G.

Yelp
This spot is on our revolving door joint list. Discovered this spot during a sports banquet and really liked every thing about it! The food is eclectic with some nice presentation. The ambiance matches the location to a "T" An outdoor area with shade, dog friendly, offers banquets or big party type of seating. And this is my only real dislike... and it's a big one, but easily fixed. And when I brought it up to them, they listened. Didn't dismiss it, weren't defensive about it... literally had a conversation with us about our experience. I really can't knock them for that, and that's why we return as often as possible. Give them a try!! You won't be disappointed. Did I mention the ciders they serve??

L.C. W.

Yelp
Loved this place! We will definitely be back, the staff were great, the seating was both indoors and outdoors. The food and beer selection on the Fourth of July fit the needs of our group. There are TVs to watch sports. They had the padres game on and it was right across the street from the park. Looking forward to coming back! Dogs are welcome!

Chelsea C.

Yelp
Such a cute little spot in Poway that offers plenty of outdoor seating. Great food and beverage options (beer and wine). Wonderful service inside. You do have to go inside to order additional drinks and food. Looking forward to returning here in the near future! PROS: * plenty of parking * great service * dog and kid friendly * delicious food * reasonable prices * amazing fried pickles * huge outdoor patio with plenty of seating * shaded outdoor seating * clean bathrooms (and quite a few stalls in the ladies room) CONS: * not a big deal, but you do have to go inside and place your order. They do not have servers attending to each table.

Jose G.

Yelp
Had our Christmas photo shoot across the street and decided to walk over to this place for a quick dinner. I walked inside and didn't see anybody behind the bar counter so I walked to the back and sat down at a table and ordered a 'Merica burger with fruit that came out super quick and was pretty tasty The outside seating and vibes are great... wish they had some board games or something though since they definitely have room for it and would've been nice and entertaining for my kid since he chose to not eat But this is a pretty cool place where you can get a drink and watch a game inside or enjoy a nice meal outside... I'd definitely say this place is worth a shot

Lily G.

Yelp
The food is fine. Service is good. Nice spacious accommodation outdoor dining. Great for bringing your whole family & young kids.

Jessica G.

Yelp
Love, love, love this local spot! They've got quite the selection of brews! Not a fan of beer? They've got something for you too- from ciders to hard kombucha to wine. Their menu is so elevated-so don't go expecting 'bar food'. Their tater tots are incredible. Their avocado toast is delicious if you're looking for lighter fare. Their friendly service is always top-notch! Above all, this is such a fun, family-friendly, chill spot that we are happy to spend Saturday afternoons at. If you haven't gone, you are missing out! ;)

Mia Cristina M.

Yelp
The food are disgusting , I order a pork belly dish and I surprise that they don't even cooked good still has a pink on it and no taste whatsoever:( I would say it's like a dog food from the can's . And my husband burger no taste they just put ketchup all over to look is good , apparently it is not :( and the chicken lemon pepper wings ewww still smells like fish from the ocean and cold inside of it . Really really disgusting. I wouldn't recommend this place . I am a chef 1 and I know what is good taste and not . Wasting money for no reason .

Felipe G.

Yelp
The amount of beers on tap has just skyrocketed since last time we visited this spot. They also have wine options. The food is excellent and service is fast. We ordered and food was out within 10 minutes. The place is very family friendly. They have an outdoor space and indoor space. Great place to visit after the farmers market but also great to come to on a Friday or Saturday night.

Hannah R.

Yelp
Good beer selection. Nice bartenders that know what you need (Mike). Bring back blackened chicken sandwich please

Denise G.

Yelp
We held my husbands Birthday/Retirement Party here with over 35 people. Everything was perfect! The food came out smoothly and hot to the correct tables and guests and was Delicious. Atmosphere was AWESOME and JP was the BEST! He is very helpful, attentive, friendly, patient, and thoughtful. He made the night PERFECT! The bussboys where quick to clear the tables as everyone was chatting! I highly reccomend dinner and parties here. Very relaxed and comfortable!

Yelp
Love this local gem. The Hop Stop is our lady's hiking group's go-to restaurant. We love everything about this restaurant! Ambiance: It has the Martha's Vineyard vibe to it, relaxing, vibrating, and casual. They have a big outdoor space for big parties. Our hiking group hosted annual costume parties (back-to-back years ) and a number of birthday parties here. They also have a fenced-in cute area for kids on the artificial turf, hence, good for kids' parties. Live music on specific days and makes the whole dining experience more fun and festive. Big screen TVs for spots lovers. Bonus point: Parking is a breeze. Food and drink: The menu is typical of bar food with Mexican American dishes. My favorites are their tacos and veggie pizza. The best veggie pizza I have ever had. The size is on the smaller side but the price is good so no complaints here. It comes with green goddess dressing, mozzarella and Parmesan, onions, sliced tomatoes, green bell peppers, and spinach. Just the right combination. The fish taco tastes very fresh and fried properly. I am a bit of a fish taco snob and I give it five stars. The Shrimp taco is not on par with the fish taco but is tolerable. Almost everyone in our hiking group gives thumbs up for the fries. It comes in a huge size. My friend immensely enjoyed the Fried pickles and couldn't stop raving about it. Try it out if you are in the mood. They have a revolving beer menu. Beers are curated very well. I love the IPA. Green apple cider beer is exceptional too. Service: Service is fast and prompt, bartenders are very engaging and knowledgeable.

Mike S.

Yelp
I just had the Merica burger and tater tot's. So yummy fast service too. Great value in Poway. Child and pet friendly.

Mike B.

Yelp
I had a meeting with my real estate partners at The Hop Stop and it was great. We sat outdoors which was awesome. The burger was tasty and the beer selection was great. I like the atmosphere, space, and the staff was friendly. Overall it was a great experience and I look forward to collaborating and doing a networking event there in the future.

Nancy A.

Yelp
Wish they had a better selection of beers. Everything seems to be an IPA Food is average. Tater tots tasted like the bottom of the grease bin Place seems to be in need of a good cleaning The outside area always seems to be dirty and very dusty My review was from when I was last their, which was in November.

Nicole B.

Yelp
Many beer options Friendly staff Blankets for outside along with games Food was good for kids

Kristeen K.

Yelp
Cute! Fun menu, friendly people. Best of all delicious food!! A lot of flies when eating out back. The only thing I didn't like. I had the July burger, YUMMM! Cooked perfect and the fries are really good! You do food well! Fun find!

Sarah H.

Yelp
Great spot in poway right where the farmers market is on saturdays! We stopped by to grab some food on a Friday, it wasn't busy and service was quick. The green apple cider beer was seriously soooo good! I loved it and will definitely be back for it! The beer pretzel had some interesting dipping sauces but the pretzel was still good! The tacos were delicious! The beans and rice were different from the typical beans and rice but so yummy.

Kristi J.

Yelp
We Love The Hop Stop! It's our go-to place to have a sandwich and a beer! They have a yummy variety of food that is very unique. Our dog is welcome there and the staff is amazing!

Alex S.

Yelp
Good food, good selection of beers, easy parking, outdoor seating (picnic tables), indoor seating (a few tables), good for kids to run around.

Angelina M.

Yelp
vibes were great and loved the live music! chili cheese fries were great but the fried pickles were a bit too thin for my personal preference. was also confused on how to order when we first arrived, but bartender and servers were kind enough to help out! food also came out pretty fast too, and parking was easy to find since there are parking spots right in front and parking lots nearby too (:

Ron W.

Yelp
Good Food at reasonable prices. Wide selection of Drinks. Very Comfortable food and service.

Andy L.

Yelp
I remember counting down the days until The Hop Stop opened. It's easily the best craft beer bar in Poway. They always have a well-chosen draft list, but I especially appreciate that the last couple times I've been there, they've had one or two sours on tap, which you don't see at many places. It's hard for me to bring my kids here. I brought them a few times when it first opened, and they said they didn't like the food. Recently though I went by myself and had the vegan burrito, and it was fantastic. I'm talking so good, whenever I'm considering other burritos now, I can't help wondering if it'll be as good as the Hop Stop burrito (answer: no). I was telling my kids this today and it seemed to get through to them, so I think it's just a matter of time before we all come back.

Ryann H.

Yelp
This gem has something for everyone. There are things for the kids to do, the kids are corralled and can play a bit, they are dog friendly, they have a good beer selection, they have plenty of different items on the menu- all good....they have great live music and trivia nights. They have a large outside patio and some inside seating. And in case you don't know, you order at the bar and go grab a table while you wait. Super simple like lots of places. The outside patio is quite large so there shouldn't be a problem finding a spot. And they sell merch!

Jon E.

Yelp
Highly recommended. Loved the breakfast burrito from brunch, and I'll be back to check out the dinner menu!

Rachel E.

Yelp
Came across this place when we were looking for a bite between events at a track meet. Food was fantastic, employees were super friendly. Will definitely be back if we are in the area. We got a breakfast burrito and avocado toast didn't try any of the drinks, but we will next time.

Lisa C.

Yelp
We love the Hop Stop! It's great for a date night, friends gathering or team gathering on the fly after a game. Great ambiance, staff is always accommodating, awesome beer selection and tasty food. They also have live music often and fun game nights keep up the great work.

Ryan F.

Yelp
We went here on a Sunday for brunch. The vibes and overall atmosphere were so good we decided to stay here for lunch as well. All the food we ordered was fantastic. However, the pozole stole the show though. The service was fast, friendly, and super informative of everything they had on tap. We will 1000% be back!

Emily G.

Yelp
I really like this place. I tried it for the first time today and it is super cute and cozy. Perfect for a family night out or breakfast or lunch. It's also a great place to go for a casual date or with friends. It was situated directly adjacent to the farmers market in Poway. They have good beer, yummy food and a fun atmosphere.

Mike G.

Yelp
The Hop Stop in Poway is a fabulous place to hang with friends and family. The best selection around town for craft beer and the food is amazing. The tater tots are next level, and the staff so friendly. It's right by the old midland park, and just a great little spot to take the kids, chill out while they play and watch a game. You definitely get a good family vibe in this place.

Vincent C.

Yelp
I came here because I heard they had some good beers so I had to check it out for myself. When you first walk in that's where you order your food and drinks. I was just there for the drinks so of course I got a cold one. Went out back to chill on the patio which is pretty big so I was chilling out there with my dogs. This is a great spot to be at when the weather is nice!

Leilani S.

Yelp
Love this place! Best beers, yummy food, great vibe! The owner Rebecca is super cool. Try this place out and say hi!

Nadine S.

Yelp
absolutely delightful pub. The employees were extremely friendly, a very unusual and awesome beer selection from a variety of micro breweries, they allow dogs, the entire vibe of the place was wonderful. And they right across the street from the restored Poway train depot. Their menu had a lot to offer, including for vegetarians unfortunately we had already eaten or else I would've tried their food. Would definitely recommend.

Samantha F.

Yelp
Very nice, fun vibe. I really enjoyed the Serpentine cider and they have live music which makes it a great place to go with family or meet with friends.

Arnel D.

Yelp
Decided to stop here with friends to enjoy the NBA Finals. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and ice cold drinks! The food is a solid mention as well. JP was my bartender. Friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the poke and nachos as well as a salad. The burgers looked great but I didn't try them this go around. I'll be back for sure when in the area.

Need T.

Yelp
Hmmm I went the other day and got two pretzels, two root beers (I got everything to go - and they do NOT have lids. Some jerk cut me off and the soda went all over my control panel by the stick shift... $400 later! And I got a cookie with that order - $48.00 Not many people there, so I'm wondering if that's why the prices are so high and they don't have lids? Won't be going back.

Mike G.

Yelp
Our favorite spot in Poway, hands down. Great food, beers, and service and an awesome and creative outdoor focused layout.

Cara T.

Yelp
Always a great experience at the Hop Stop. Love the casual atmosphere and the vegetarian friendly menu.

Mark R.

Yelp
Rebecca runs a helluva place. Her food is delicious, her staff is great, beer selection is over the top. Best location in Poway - what more could you ask for?? Kid friendly, dog friendly you name it!

B B.

Yelp
When you walk in everyone is standing there trying to figure out where to order and then lines will start appearing behind others. You take your order then they give you a number. When it's busy it's chaos the poor servers have to find your number in large crowds and they look a bit overwhelmed, especially when events are going on. I saw a bunch of kids running around in the back as with no supervision and it's a bit chaotic. It is dog friendly so that's nice. Anyways, I was standing in line and was up next waiting and the cashier skipped me and tried to get the Caucasian mans order behind me. I was kind of confused and in disbelief. Her coworker kept shouting that I was next and she kinda ignored him but the nice man behind me said that I was up next and she took my order. Not sure if she genuinely didn't know or does not like people of my ethnic group but she was a bit sassy. It's my first time here and I asked for water and she was snarky saying to get it in the back. Also, the water in the back is warm. Ask them for ice. Idk that whole situation rubbed me a bit wrong. Also, you can't change any of the menu items. I wanted French fries instead of tots for my poutine but she said they don't make it like that because they get soggy. But i like soggy. The poutine was okay but the steak nachos were a bit better. Probably wouldn't be back

Andrew G.

Yelp
We came in around 6pm on a Saturday, it was pretty busy but it wasn't a zoo. Parking was pretty easy. They had live music while we were there so that was pretty cool. The patio is a nice place if the weather is good. It's pretty kid friendly. My kids loved their cheese burger and pizza. The fries were above average, nice and crispy. My wife really enjoyed her birria sandwich. I didn't really love my vegan plate as much as the rest of my family enjoyed their food but it was edible. I still enjoyed the visit over all.
