I stayed at the Hotel Hollywood while I was vacationing in Los Angeles in May 2024. From my perspective, this place is ideal for those who are seeking to discover the movie attractions! Located near the Hollywood Walk of Fame, this hotel has friendly and helpful staff and my room was big and had a nice bathroom and there was a small fridge and a safe. I would say that one thing some people might find uncomfortable might be that there is no elevator. Apart from that, this is a very nice hotel and I was very happy with my stay and I would definetely stay again!

Very good hotel, centrally located in Hollywood in a quiet street. Parking garage available nearby at $30 a night. Staff was super helpful. Room was decent size, wifi was great. The air conditioner was very old and made a lot of noise.

This hotel is a good option if your budget isn’t much. The rooms aren’t out of normal but when you visit LA all you want is go out all day. The area looks good during the day but at the night it may looks lonely. Regarding the service, the staff is friendly; there was just one issue. My English was basic, so I needed to explain something about the bathroom to a receptionist. She noticed I struggled in English, so she switched to Spanish, and I could explain in my language. However, when I was leaving and wanted to ask about a fee in Spanish, she refused to respond in Spanish, even though it was clear she could. I don't understand why she changed, but overall, my stay was good.

Google
Good value if you’re not looking to break the bank in LA. Rooms are a little run down and dated (no outlets next to the bed and no lift - stairs only) Area is fine. Little quiet but a CVS is close by plus a few food options. No parking but a $10 overnight secure lot is 5 mins away. Staff were super accommodating and always friendly.

The Hotel Hollywood is an interesting place; beautiful historic building in the center of the Hollywood tourist area, but on a street dominated by apartment buildings. The Hotel was constructed in the 1920's and does not have an elevator but is restored to a very nice level of comfort.||*THE GOOD - ||Nice lady on the desk in the morning, helpful and accommodating.||Good Price considering the area||Great rooms, clean well appointed, with bathrooms showers that have a bench to sit on while you shower.||Nice linens and towels and bath amenities||Halls / public areas nicely decorated and maintained.||Great Housekeeping, staff was extremely nice.||Individual AC / Heating unit performed well; comfortable room.||Water was hot, good water pressure - does take time to heat up.||Great Location with a pretty good Diner across the street||* THE NOT SO GOOD||No drink machine, water, breakfast or snacks||No Desk Person at night - security issue - we had a "Night Visitor" knock on our door at 3:30AM and there was no one on property. we enjoyed our room at the Hotel Hollywood; definitely a historic gem that could use a little improvement but provides a good price value proposition. I think the owner should consider a night clerk / night auditor for Security and added service. Night people are adept at following guests into any Hotel entrance, bypassing the door's security code protection. I cannot express the feeling I got when I heard a knocking at 3:30AM, then looked through the eye portal to see a masked young man in a hoody! When I told him to leave, he did so immediately; however the Hotel is a delight otherwise - thanks to the staff for a nice stay.

Google
Terrible lack of compassion shown. We booked with them on the 16th of March for a week and was looking forward to very much, however due to circumstances out of mine and partners control we are unable to go because my partner is extremely ill and is not allowed to fly at all. I booked through booking.com and spoke to them in relation to this and they said they would contact this hotel. However when the replied they were unable to waiver the cancellation fee even though we had paid almost £700 already it would nice to waiver those fees as finances are going to be extremely difficult now

Google
Stellar staff. Everyone was inviting and delightful. The location is great, but not prime. Just a block from Hollywood Blvd. Mid level for accommodations. The rooms are small and the appliances are old, but the cleaning staff is doing a great job. The perfect setup for this solo traveler in the city for a show. A classic building with a great history. 10/10 met my needs.

Service was great, Andres is such a down to earth guy who helped us out alot with parking and was very caring in our situation. The room was tidy and clean and comfy :)

Yelp
I stayed here for a weekend a couple of months ago and I would stay again. I think it's a perfect spot for a short LA visit for anyone who is on a low budget, but still likes clean sheets and feeling safe. The neighborhood is in the middle of Hollywood so people watching is pretty entertaining. Just be safe when you head out at night. The front desk attendant was always very helpful. I did not like that I had to wait the next day for an actual comforter and was given extra sheets, but they made up for it with literally everything else. To management: Don't be greedy and please have coffee and tea available for free. Even cheap motels offer that.

Claudia Q.

Yelp
Very nice stay it is convenient to walk to restaurant near and close by everything else in the area. Friendly Staff thank you Jaime!

Yelp
This hidden gem has been my local goto hotel for several years now. Clean, modern, and great service. Shhh! Keep to yourself, or we won't be able to get a reservation.

Gary C.

Yelp
We stayed here for a three day visit after a cruise. The rooms are somewhat basic, but super clean with comfortable beds, cable, and a great location. You are one block from Hollywood Boulevard in the, frankly, tourist area. The staff were incredibly helpful and informative. Very friendly. It's a privately owned little boutique hotel, and you will never beat the price in the heart of Hollywood. I would stay here again in a moment. You won't regret this budget choice. It's a pretty fun place.

Francz K.

Yelp
Nice quiet and clean hotel. It's close to lots of restaurants and a 7-Eleven as well. Front desk is professional and pleasant. Drawbacks of staying here are there is a $100 room deposit charged at check in, no microwave in the room, no flat iron, no ironing board, no coffee maker, no alarm clock, no fitness center, no swimming pool.

Karen H.

Yelp
We recently stayed at the hotel Hollywood expecting a good experience based on past reviews from previous guests. Unfortunately, we were woken up at three in the morning for approximately an hour by a guest above us that was stomping, hitting, falling over etc. for approximately an hour. Since there is no one on the property 24 hours a day, there was literally nothing we could do. Additionally, we were awoken the next morning by the smell of sewage for our shower had backed up, and we were unable to shower that morning before we left for our busy day. In talking to management, they really offered no compensation, and quite frankly, didn't seem to care that we had experienced such a unpleasant stay. Don't stay there.

Yelp
Do NOT book a room in this hotel! I booked a room weeks in advance to attend a concert a few blocks away and when I went to check in I was told there was an emergency at the hotel and would not be allowed to check in. While I was trying to find another place to stay a couple came in and was allowed to check in. I also had to pay for parking for 24 hours because they have no parking on site and I was not told in advance that the booking I paid for in advance would not be honored.

Gabrielle C.

Yelp
This is a great little hotel. It's clean, safe, and the staff are really nice. The hotel is by no means fancy or super updated, but it had everything I needed and again, was clean. Great place to stay for the price. Walking distance to some restaurants, a CVS, and Hollywood attractions. My only suggestion to make the stay better was if the room had a full length mirror. Definitely will book again if I'm back in the area.

Yelp
Really happy I found this hotel on Booking.com. It's super cute, everything is clean and welcoming. Although I found my room to be very dark and almost slightly depressing, it wasn't something to fuss over. The staff is really nice and helpful. They have free laundry on site. Parking is a block away and it's $20 a night. Not bad at all. There are plenty of restaurants, smoke shops, pharmacies nearby and you're one block away from Hollywood. The price rate was really good for the Thursday night but shot up drastically high Friday to Saturday night. I was too lazy to find another cheap hotel so I ended up paying for a second night here. I wish I hadn't because it as really expensive. However the receptionist did do a price match that I found on Booking.com. There are clean towels, makeup wipes and plenty of toilet paper. The staff made a room accommodation for me and put me in a room on the first floor. It's a 3 story building and there are no elevators. Definitely check this hotel out.

Yelp
The Hotel Hollywood is a decent place to stay in Hollywood that is affordable and close to a lot of attractions. My boyfriend and I stayed here to go to Universal Studios. The room itself was clean but quite small. The bathroom was a decent size with a pretty nice shower (it looked like a new shower unit was put in). They had the usual toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, a face bar (which smelled lovely), and even make up remover wipes. The bed was comfortable and sheets were nice and clean. They have breakfast which is very light and consisted of croissants, muffins, coffee, orange juice, instant oatmeal, and granola bars. It's nothing fancy but good for something light for the road. The location of the hotel is on the ghetto side and it feels a bit unsafe. It is also noisy at night due to nightlife. When we stayed, there were lots of fireworks until about 1 am! The parking situation was the biggest problem. You can either pay for meter parking which was a dollar for twenty minutes or you can get their parking for $20 a night. Their parking is strange is located in an open lot two blocks down. It was inconvenient and hard to find! Overall, I would probably book a different place because of the noisy nights and strange parking.

Yelp
SCAM HOTEL-STAY AWAY! Fraudulently charge my card and when I asked them about it they stated that they were charging me $20 for sheets and $30 for towels. THEN had the audacity to send me pictures of a used sheet and used towels!? aren't you supposed to use those things at a hotel?? had to go through my bank to get my money back. The room smelled disgusting and no one is ever around to help. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else they are Straight crooks!!

Yelp
I booked for the weekend. I was truly looking to this getaway but today my cousin called and her mom is in the ER with Covid and she also had Covid. So, I had to cancel my trip. Tyrell was absolutely the most polite, professional and understanding representative for The Hotel Hollywood. Though I haven't stayed yet , I will book as soon as my families situation changes. Thanks Tyrell can't wait to meet you when I get there. You were amazing !

Ranveig F.

Yelp
Small basic hotel with a history and great location for a visit to Hollywood. This part of LA is not the most upscale so don't expect it to be, but it has its own vibe . Our room was small and simple, the bed was comfortable. It was clean and the bathroom was adequate. This is an old hotel and has more charm and authenticity than amenities, but we did not see any cleanliness-problems. Above all there was Fernando the receptionist who was a wealth of information and great company! It you are looking for luxury don't go there, but if you are open to the vibe of present day Hollywood this is a great place to start. We embraced it for its authenticity and friendliness, which rated full house with us.

Yelp
THIS IS A ROACH INFESTED PLACE!!! Do not stay here! I book this for July 1 st July 6 in celebration of my birthday. I called numerous of times to confirm my booking and they were non responsive never answered my voicemail. I was sent a text to confirm on the day of check in. I was told that no body will be there to check me in, so they called one of the staff members to let me in. As soon as I opened the door we saw a roach by the refrigerator, then my lil brother saw a larger roach (cockroach) run up under the bed! I was then asked If I wanted the room next door,AS IF ROACHES STAY CONFINED TO ONE PART OF THE BUILDING AND NOT REST! If you have roaches most likely the whole building does.....Unbelievable! TO ADD SALT TO INJURY THEY CHARGED ME FOR THAT NIGHT AND THEN PERSISTED THAT I CALL BOOKING.com to get my money back for a room that I never stayed in. I was told by the rep that hotel Hollywood is in charge of giving me a refund and not them And Hollywood hotel was the ones who chargers me(complete run around and lies)! Just terrible service.... I was literally celebrating my birthday at dinner and still had to deal with this bullshit. Then the manager had the nerves to say that they never had roaches prior to Covid! On top of this I was out of a place to stay Because of them! I wasted time that I could never get back! I should Sue and I will call the board of health And the better business bureau! THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!

Jennifer W.

Yelp
I suggest you look at the photos of this hotel- very gross and repulsive. It's very unclean with cockroaches. Don't take my word for it -just do the research. Also, if you have to cancel for any reason... any type of family emergency perhaps-they will not refund your money- Even if plenty of notice. Poor business.

Yelp
This hotel was just overall OK. If I were giving stars for staff alone it would be 5 stars. Viola & I think her name was Amy were so nice and informative. They always made it a point to say hello and offered us everything we needed. The parking alone is horrible. $25 a night in a sketchy lot down the street. Our room was on the first floor which was nice, however our room was extremely small for even 2 people and our view was of a dumpster for the other building. The room wasn't too fancy which was fine but I would highly recommend them adding a full size mirror in the rooms so we didn't have to guess what the lower half of our body looked like! Also, everything was pretty much walking distance which was nice. Overall we will probably stay somewhere else next time.

Melanie C.

Yelp
Spent 5 nights here and loved every minute of it. This stretch of Hollywood has dramatically cleaned up from the Yucca Corridor crack alley days. Super nice staff that greets you by name every morning, memory foam beds, small but clean rooms with stainless steel microwaves and refrigerators. Wi-fi didn't seem to reach my room on the 3rd floor at the back of the property, but their DSL was speedy so I didn't miss the Wi-Fi. Slept like a rock every night - which is a rarity for me, even at home. Beds are super comfy and the area quiet. There are quite a few nightclubs and bars around the corner so I was surprised! I was only woken up by the whoo-yeah call of the 2 AM drunks once - on a Thursday no less. TIP: Ask for room 306 - not only did Marilyn Monroe supposedly stay in this room - but you get a views of Hollywood out your window. Something the other rooms don't seem to have. As an LA native back for a visit - and will totally stay here anytime I'm back in town!

Layla P.

Yelp
I was very pleased with my choice of the Hollywood hotel. It was clean, and the memory foam bed was super comfortable. Even though this hotel is in the middle of central Hollywood, it is tucked away on Yucca and Vine and has a discreet and secure entrance. And, at least in my experience, was very quiet when it was time to sleep. The little complimentary basic breakfast was appreciated and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Not only would I fully recommend this spot to others, but I would definitely stay there again myself when in town for a rock show or other event. Nice little hotel. They also provided parking for a decently priced daily fee.

Yelp
Scammed! Huge inconvenience!! I had booked a room for two days a month in advance. I searched for rooms that were pet friendly and came across this one it said in the ad service animals welcomed and exempt from fees. When the day came November 22 I went to check in between 7 and 7:30 pm, I had a bad feeling about the young woman that answered the locked door . She Asked if I was checking in and I said yes, then she let me in with my new service puppy. Right away she said pets were not allowed and I could not have my paid for non refundable room unless I paid $250 extra for my puppy..She said the $250 would not be a deposit but a charge because pets are not allowed in the hotel. I told her I booked this room because it stated while booking with hotels.com service pets are allowed and EXEMPT from FEES. She said that when I was sent my confirmation email, it states the hotel does not allow pets. Now that is after the fact that now I had already paid for it and it is non refundable. I said I had been on the road all day and if I were to leave my puppy in the car with my daughter could I use the room I paid for, to take a shower. She said she would still have to charge me $250 cause I would try and sneak my dog in. I felt from the start like she was just trying to scam me out of more money or maybe turn me away to rent the room out again. I was told once before when I tried to stay there and it was fully booked that if I waited till 9pm, the people with reserved rooms who don't show , those rooms would be available to rent . So after arguing back and forth with this horrible woman, who was rude and condescendingly saying thank you as I was left with no choice but to leave with no room to stay in and $200 poorer.

Jessica W.

Yelp
With the photos I am about to upload I would think the rating should turn into a WARNING! This place should be shut down, fumigated, bulldozed, and rebuilt by a NEW OWNER. I called the hotel days before to confirm late check-in. My Aunt & cousin were going to be driving down the coast with me from the Bay Area on Spring Break. This was last year in 2009. I have been boiling about the experience since then I've been unable to write without having to have a BLEEP every two words. haha HORRIBLE place to make a reservation... Here goes. I called the hotel around 5pm that day to confirm again that we were due to arrive that night and will be tired from a long day's drive down the coast. They were aware that there would be 3 adults and I re-confirmed that there would be a room with 2 double beds waiting for us when we arrived that night in our PRE-PAID room... We get there at 10pm... No one answered the door - it was locked. We use the night button and finally hear that someone will be down. The person comes down and gives us a key to a room. We go down the dirty smelly dingy hallway to the last room on the right. There was ONE BED!!! 3 adults and 1 bed... we were so exhausted! So we went back to the front desk - went through the same ol process to get the person to come down only to tell us that was the ONLY room left. We told her... and HERE is where it gets nasty... The bed was soiled. I mean... the comforter was pulled down and sheets were stained and wrinkled. Someone had been IN the bed and it was not clean... or made to even pretend like it was clean... There was a ball of hair on the dresser! I looked at the floor and there were popcorn kernels!! GrrrrrrrrrOSS! We all decided to just deal with it - we would wear our clothes and socks even though it was super hot) and try not to touch the sheets or pillows (that we covered with our clothes that would now be soiled) The light was out in the bathroom so we had to pee with the door wide open to the room for everyone to see and hear... There was hair on the bath rug draped over the tub... and when I went to close the curtain in the bathroom so at least the neighbors couldn't see me peeing... The rod fell down!!! SO much for ANY privacy. I could keep going. Truth is, I honestly still... after a whole year passing by... I still can barely talk about this without my skin crawling and my teeth gritting. Do not make reservations here. They need new owners and a new attitude about customer service. DISGUSTING!!! seriously.

Mike S.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Hollywood. The rooms are small but very affordable and clean. My wife and I were tourists and didn't spend much time in the room so we weren't looking for an expensive hotel. This fit our needs well. The hotel is a block from Hollywood and Vine and walking distance to all kinds of attractions and great restaurants. One more thing, the hotel clerk (manager?) Viola was so pleasant and helpful and always had a smile that we always looked forward to stopping and chatting with her whenever we came and went. Thank you for your genuine hospitality.

Jessica B.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. Sad I tried purchasing a room through their number for my brother and his wife who had a serious procedure planned for the next day. I thought I would get them a room close to where it was being performed so they didn't have to drive hours back and forth making it more stressful. I was lied to and when they showed up to check in the staff was more then rude and nasty to them. Making it more stressful that they even went. I'm disappointed and highly recommend going elsewhere. What's even more sad is I tried speaking to someone about my discouragement and they were so rude over the phone. Shame on you. You ruined multiple referrals and future stays. I wish this hotel the best. Customer service is key and you seriously lack it!

Coco J.

Yelp
Rude service, period!! I booked this hotel through Priceline (Originally priced on there at $109 but with taxes $143? Yeah no.) for the 4th of July and needed to cancel my room yesterday - 4 days prior to my stay for another hotel I found to be cheaper. I called the hotel and spoke to man at the front desk to confirm I would not be charged and he assured me I wouldn't so I went ahead and cancelled through Priceline. LOW AND BEHOLD I wake up to a $143 charge on my card. I called Priceline and there was nothing they could do so I called Hotel Hollywood. Actually I called 3 times because the for the first two no one answered and apparently it's a cell phone because their inbox is full. Third time was a charm because someone ended up answering: the most rude, obnoxious, ghetto, uneducated female I've ever dealt. I explained to her my situation and all she could say (and interrupt me with) was "So did you cancel??!" No shit! "You're not in our books..." Well obviously, congrats for understanding English! Stupidity at its finest. She did nothing to accommodate me. She did nothing to explain. The very least she could have done was offer me the room still since it was already charged to my card. RIDICULOUS. I'll make sure to spread the word like wildfire to stay away from this place. The pictures on Priceline are also extremely misleading. The pictures of what the rooms actually look like look like shit.

Paige E.

Yelp
Lovely people, great location, clean sheets, free breakfast. Great money value. I would stay here agaIn

melissa w.

Yelp
SUPER SUPER clean! That was my #1 and I am picky! checked the bathroom very closely...pulled the sheets down and mattress was clean and no bugs. sheets super white. Location was great and I felt safe there so close to Hollywood. and an excellent value for the money. I will definitely stay there again. Cons-No vending or ice. But there is a CVS very close. The girl when we checked in was SUPER nice! However the lady that worked the next day zero personality.

D H.

Yelp
I loved my stay in room 403 especially since it's on the same floor as the pool. Tried Yamashiro (the restaurant up above) and was truly disappointed. Really enjoyed Katsuya on Hollywood Blvd at Vine for great and I mean great service and 5 Star food. Only problem, the hotel over charged my credit card $175.00. WHAT? I was a walk-in and always pay cash; they insisted on using my card for guarantee. That's a pretty expensive guarantee. I was shocked that they would take my full payment in cash and still charge my card. Poor business.

Anna M.

Yelp
Booked a room and wasn't able to keep booking. Cancelled five days in advance and hotel kept every cent of my money. Horrible customer service. Bad business practices. Stay away from this hotel.

S B.

Yelp
Looks great upon entrance, but as of 2014, much of the hotel is under construction. We were put in a room that a had a strong smoky, chemical smell (on the second floor) and had to ask to relocate. Fortunately, it was morning, and they had one room on the first floor available. (I got the impression that they were going to give our room to the people arriving later that day). The rooms were fairly clean, but some nooks were overlooked. For example, the dresser drawers had dust and hair in them. Our room on the first floor had noise outside 24/7; sounded like some kind of water pump or A/C compressor. I was able to fall asleep anyway. The free breakfast was typical bargain-buffet carbs (bread, muffins, etc.) and fruit, with liquid eggs for omelets (order fried eggs to get fresh eggs cracked before your eyes!). Avoid the gray foamy meat tubes that they called sausage, unless you really need meat. What set the hotel apart for me was the relatively low price (about $90 a night + $22/day parking) and the friendly staff. Several employees were EXTREMELY friendly, so much so that I thought they were going to try to get me to convert or join their MLM. But they didn't.

Linda P.

Yelp
I am sorry but having fewer immunities does not rate a Hotel for me. This place is so quaint and clean and the service was unreal. Please give it a try. Walking distance Pantages, the capital building. The famous Hollywood & vine. $20 to park in a gated yard. Tamika was lovely and Roxanne stayed and waited for us to get back from Hamilton!! Great memorable stay!!

Mary R.

Yelp
If you're looking for something inexpensive impeccably clean and extremely convenient you've found the right place. I was going to a concert at Pantages with my mother and this hotel was right around the corner, less than a 5 minute walk. The rooms are small but efficient. All we needed was a bathroom to get ready in and a bed to sleep in. The front door locks at 10 PM but there's an access code for guests to enter after hours. They don't include parking but if you know how to park in Hollywood it's not that difficult and for the price it's obviously not Included. The pizza across street is downright delicious, CVS 24 hours 711 subway panda express all within 2 minutes walking distance. Just one block up from Hollywood Boulevard it's so close to tons of bars, restaurants and night clubs as well. P.S. I left my iphone charger in my room, and was able to retrieve it later that day. The gentleman at front desk was so nice. Overall I would stay again and recommend to someone visiting short term.

Marcela Q.

Yelp
I loved the location of this hotel and that is the main reason we got it, literally down the street from the street and everything is walking distance. The workers are super nice and it's actually pretty clean The only thing is the rooms and bathrooms are a little small, especially the mirror. We didn't have a microwave in our room either. But other than that, I enjoyed staying here.

Chris M.

Yelp
So I planned to take my GF to Hollywood this past weekend to eat at Nobu in Beverly Hills, see one of the final performances of Wicked at Pantages Theater and then tune up my "lawnmower" dance at Avalon until the wee hours of the morning. I waited late last week to finalize hotel plans.... ooops. Thanks to the USC game (FIGHT ON!) and the Dodger's game, finding something that wasnt booked where I wanted to stay proved to be very challenging. Naturally, staying within walking distance of Hollywood was paramount in my decision-making. I jumped on Yelp and I couldnt find what I was looking for. Next stop: Orbitz. I read the reviews prior to booking, of course. The two prevailing themes: Good chance the rooms will not meet my cleanliness standards and the location is unbeatable. As long as the location is perfect, I can deal with it... after all, all hotel rooms look the same when you are hammered at 5 am. I wasnt yanked from the loins of the rich, so I have first hand knowledge of what its like to live in shit-hole hostels, dorm rooms and apartments thanks to a long collegiate career. On some level, your expectations should be calibrated with the price you expect to pay. The room was $100 a night. Expectations should be low. The good news: It met my expectations! Well, slightly below. There are random stains on the walls that look like they can be cleaned with a simple soap/water mix. The carpet shows pretty heavy wear. The bathroom was definitely the crown jewel of the place. newer fixtures and clean. bring your own pillows and the bed is just fine. Look, If you are spending a week in LA and you plan to hang out in the room, this isnt where you want to do it. If you are looking for a budget-friendly place to drop your things, shred LA/Hollywood without driving anywere and get a little rest while doing so, look no further. If you are a total savage and dont mind spending time in the room, they even have satellite TV. This is your ultimate bargin!

Diana B.

Yelp
great place, you may hear and see the SPIRIT CHARLIE who is down in the washing room area, be nice down there, he turns the washing machines on without any money in it. ALSO, JAMES DEAN room 102 and MARILYN MONROE room 306 may be lurking the halls and rooms. No elevators, close to HOLLYWOOD BLVD AND SUNSET, you could walk everywhere. Washing machines are free after 4pm. MIcrowaves, and refrigerator in each room, enjoy your stay. TRAVIS is great.

Christine C.

Yelp
My boyfriend and i needed a cheep place to crash after a party. i had read the reviews, so i wasnt expecting much. this place is great ! It was clean. It had a bed with clean sheets, a microwave and refigrator. The staff was nice. Only draw back was parking. For the price this place is a bargin.

E G.

Yelp
Chose to stay here based on price, reviews, and close proximity to a venue where I was going to see a performance (Hotel Cafe). Since I arrived after the gig, there were no staff on site so I can't comment on them. The room itself was fine. Clean. Bathroom appears recently remodeled. Towels and sheets smelled of bleach but not strong and I don't mind it....at least I know they're clean! The mattress seemed to be a memory foam type which I found annoying. The reason I'm only giving it two stars is the noise. Yes, the walls are thin as has been mentioned by other reviewers. The bigger problem was the constant noise of people coming and going in hallway, doors slamming, and people talking. Above me (I was on the ground floor), it sounded at times like they were trying to rearrange the furniture. This continued until 3AM. Since I had to be up by 6AM to catch a flight, I only got three hours of interrupted sleep...for $69. I'd have been better off just going straight back to LAX...the airport would have been quieter! If I had to stay in the area, I would most likely stay somewhere else. If I had to stay here again, I would definitely ask for a top floor room.

Yelp
The rooms and entire facility is very clean. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. Finally, the location is great.

Yelp
Without a doubt, the WORST customer service I have EVER experienced. It is nearly impossible to even get someone to answer the phone. I STRONGLY recommend finding a different place to stay.

Yelp
Best nights sleep I've had in a while - and for five nights straight! After the first night we were left a note under the door that they would be changing the mattress (upgrades) which I was dubious about at first. I wondered why as it seemed brilliant to me! A memory foam mattress replaced by...another memory foam mattress exactly the same =) Happy the comfort remained the same! To get room service or not have anyone disturb you, you had to hang a sign on the door which I thought was a good idea. We weren't disturbed early morning and we had room service when we put the sign on to ask for it =) The room wasn't big but it did justice. I loved the big mirror, very easy to get ready and see yourself in full. The walls were a little thin at times - we could hear upstairs moving about sometimes. The only negative things I could say about this place; the breakfast area was in the tiny reception area and very limited to pieces of fruit and bagels with a toaster and tea maker. Doesn't qualify as breakfast to me. I found a cockroach on the third day which I hastily knocked in to the bin bag and tied a knot in. Apart from that no other problems.

Yelp
we were here couple days ago and had a really bad time. Wouldnt mind a old hotel but front desk black girl got us a no parking ticket that cost us $100 d moment we check in.Instructed us to park up front while checking in and said it would b okay. And i dnt really liked her attitude.Too arrogant.Gave us wrong info too for parking on other street.Everything she say is just wrong. Not coordinated.Wouldnt go back.Far lot more better hotel than them...

Yelp
Can't beat this place for the price. Total little gem in hollywood if you aren't looking to drop some serious cash at the W or Roosevelt. We just needed a place to crash after a concert and wow did this work out. The rooms are really clean, like some of the cleanest i've seen in any hotel! Beds were very comfy and overall a decent sized room. The staff at the front desk was nice and helpful as well. Most importantly though, LOCATION. We were able to walk to dinner at Beso and then walk over to the Palladium for our concert. We had planned on getting a cab, but not necessary at all! I suppose there are some things in the hotel that you miss, flat screens on the wall, no elevator, etc. But unless your planning to hang out in your hotel all night (why would you in hollywood)...this is a great joint.

Yelp
I stayed in the Hotel Hollywood recently on a Friday night. The location is great -- I was in town to spend time in Hollywood and attend a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. We walked everywhere, so that was a plus. Also, the price was good compared to other area hotels. There were some problems, though. When my boyfriend and I decided to extend our stay to a second night, we tried calling the hotel for several days in the week leading up to our trip, hoping to just make our reservation longer rather than booking a separate reservation and having to switch rooms. We left messages and made calls for days and never heard anything back. When we eventually decided to just book a separate reservation through Booking.com, they were sold out. Then Friday, when we checked in, we were given a first-floor room right by the lobby. The room was OK but not exactly perfectly clean. There were dark hairs and stains on the white bedding. The water pressure was bad, but that didn't bother me so much. It was nice having a fridge for drinks because it was an incredibly HOT weekend. My main complaint about the room was how loud it was, both from the lobby and the floor above. I slept badly. I was glad to find out there was parking ($15) until I drove to the prescribed lot and it was full. The attendant sent me a few blocks over to a different lot near the Cahuenga CVS. That lot cost only $10 a day, according to the sign. So glad I paid more at the hotel desk. Overall, I guess we got what we paid for at this small, old hotel. I'm mostly giving them 2 stars because of their inability to call me back when I wanted to extend my reservation. They missed out on business and stressed me out about where I was going to stay as my trip loomed. I ended up booking a Saturday night stay at the Trylon Hotel down the street for about $10 more and had a much more pleasant experience with the same great location. The Hotel Hollywood basically proved to me that there's no reason to book there again.

Yelp
I would give this hotel anything else but one star if you were able to get ahold of them. We booked this room online, but frankly don't expect them to pick up the phone if you have any sort of issue. I get that this hotel is dated, but the fact that you can't call and ask questions is beyond frustrating. Oh, and they lock the door at night and LUCKILY we stopped in the office before we left and they told us about it and gave us a front door code. What if we hadn't stopped by and the front door was locked?? There would've been no way to get in. This hotel is plain and simple, but it's these little issues that will keep me from coming back.

Yelp
Location location location! This place is great, nestled right in the heart of Hollywood, you are literally 3 blocks away from everything in either direction. My bf and I stayed here for my bday weekend - we were hitting up the Avalon and decided to get a hotel (Avalon is 2 blocks away btw!) we booked the room a few nights before for $150, had to pay for parking (kinda lame) that was 2 blocks away (even more lame) but hey, it's LA - The room was clean, modern and small. The hotel is 3 floors, no elevator. Very quaint, homey feel - almost as if you have a little apartment in the city for the weekend. Staff was nice, their "free breakfast" in the lobby is basically some bagels, coffee and tea in the rather small check-in area / lobby. ( I really cant complain b/c most places dont even offer that! so free coffee after a night on the town YES PLEASE! Free Wifi - the gal at the front desk will give you the code along with the code to get into the front door after 10pm. The beds are insanely soft!! Shower head sucked, fridge and microwave in each room. All in all, i would stay again!

Yelp
First off... if you're even considering this hotel because of the cheaper rates, chances are youre probably not trying to hang out luxuriously in your room or the hotel. Otherwise, you would spend the money and go get yourself a freaking 5 star hotel right? lol With that being said, this hotel gets the job done. It's in a great location, staff was really professional and friendly. Rooms are a bit small, but very clean (the bed was SO COMFORTABLE!!!! ). I would definitely stay here again. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars: The walls were kinda thin, you could hear upstairs/neighbors sometimes. Other than that, great little hotel.

Yelp
Great!! Amazing price. Very clean and quiet. Really can't beat it and so close to the metrolink. This place is freaking great and we will stay again.

Yelp
Being the slacker that I am, I booked this place 15 minutes before checking in. The hotel was nothing fancy, but it was clean and the staff were nice. Parking was only $15 and located on a lot around the corner from the hotel. The location was more than ideal for bar hopping in Hollywood and based on that, I would be returning here in the future.

Yelp
My partner and I stayed there in mid-September 2010, for 3 days. We had a wonderful time; there were a couple of minor annoyances but not worth going into detail about. We usually find the same types of minor annoyances at just about every hotel we've stayed in and have learned to either have a laugh or call room service to correct the problem, which they usually do. The hotel was a decent price, in a great location. We plan to come back again at a later date.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed here back in April 2015, and enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, and the continental breakfast saved us money (we took an extra apple or yogurt for snacks as well). We came to LA to visit friends and check out what the city had to offer. It was our first visit to LA and the receptionists were kind and informative as to where we should head and how to take public transportation. It's the perfect location, near Hollywood and a nice walk to the train or bus stops. There is CVS by the hotel in case you need allergy medication or snacks. The rooms have a mini refrigerator, and we kept our extra breakfast items there. Beds are hard, but I rather they be hard then too soft.

Yelp
Here's the deal. It's dead in the middle of Hollywood and it is inexpensive. Period. The hotel is a time-piece. Staff was great.

Yelp
I would have given more stars BUT... the 20.00 per day car parking fee is ridiculous. And I had change in a cup just kept filling it so I wouldn't have it in my pocket and they STOLE the whole cup! When I brought it to there attention they said they thought it was a tip. Sorry but no. Anyways not a bad place. Just those 2 things.
