Google
The food was okay. We had the Chicken Bulgogi Tacos and French Toast, and they looked great, but you could find the same food elsewhere that tastes better and for cheaper. A lot of self-service, only time you don't have to help yourself is when you get your drinks and food, have to return plates yourself. Waited around 30 minutes for our food. Would only recommend trying once.

Google
I had the pork belly gyro bowl and it wasn’t amazing. It was fine. The menu said “crispy” and the pork wasn’t crispy at all which was a bummer. I was also disappointed with the price/portion. Fairly expensive for what it is. This would’ve been a three star rating if it weren’t for me trying my friends Mole Chilaquiles which were fantastic. Totally redeemed the place for me. Will come back for those.

Google
This restaurant has been a regular stop for me and my family especially during their pizza nights. The menu is always changing with some new special that feels truly inspired. The staff are friendly and the service is always excellent. They have local beer, great wine, delicious cocktails, and continue to serve tea and coffee into the dinner service which I always appreciate. (Try the Dragonwell green, it’s delightful.) The menu can sometimes be a little “high concept” with offerings that might be challenging for a child’s pallet but they do have some less complicated options and if all else fails, they have roast potatoes with aioli which is a universally loved dish. There’s options for anyone from a picky toddler to someone looking to try the newest and most exciting thing.

Cozy atmosphere, pizza and drinks were excellent. Live music was good and not overwhelmingly loud like some places.

Google
If quality and sustainability are important to you, this place rocks. The food is delicious, and you can tell it’s prepared fresh using quality ingredients. If you care about affordability and portion sizes, however, you’ll be frustrated. I paid $21 for the savory breakfast skillet with two eggs. (Black coffee would have been an extra $4.) Is there anything inherently wrong with this? Definitely not. Does it make it difficult for me to justify frequent visits? Absolutely. Just know what’s important to you. If sustainably sourced ingredients and quality preparation matter to you more than anything else, you’ll be more than content :)

Be sure that you don't miss this gem of a place when you are in the Lincoln area! With generous portions and everything made to perfection you will be glad you stopped! The bacon, the biscuits.... my mouth wanted more but my tummy was full!

Google
The food was not as good in taste in comparison as you can see in the photos, the attention and the atmosphere are very pleasant but the problem is the taste of the food on this occasion

Mary Drozd

Google
I spent 90$ a plate for their valentines dinner and it sucked. 7:45 seating. Apps at 8:20, under ripe pear in the salad, rubbery pasta and cold curry that was mediocre compared to a Trader Joe’s frozen lunch. I am embarrassed to have brought a date here. Oh, and the chef was mocking me in the kitchen about wanting a warm entree. Utter disaster all the way. Had a sandwich when I got home at 10 30pm.

Yelp
The staff are charming and polite. The ambiance is light and bright, and the food... let me tell you. These Huevos Rancheros are the best I've had. The floral notes from the corn tortilla hit your nose, then you taste the black beans, the red and green salsa, the perfectly cooked eggs, the pickled onions, crispy tortilla strips, cilantro, and omg that feta... I don't even like feta, but theirs is something else. 10/10 would recommend.

Amber N.

Yelp
Service was prompt and the food was delicious....you won't find offerings like this anywhere else in town. The new mural is gorgeous! Tried the Blueberry Power Bowl....oatmeal, granola, blueberries, banana and peanut butter. Very filling and a delicious combo of flavors!

Yelp
So we're finally here getting to try what I am seeing other customers eating. One having Biscuits n Gravy. Wow. REALLY good everything. Order as one walks in. Coffee latte drinks here also. They are pretty good. Honey syrup. Local sourced foods place here. I have not been to many. More restaurants are trying this. Is healthier for sure. Anything besides cans or packaged parts! I am enjoying Smoky Pork and Local Mushroom Grits. B have Fall French Toast. Both beautiful and amazing good. This has been a unique food experience.

Kristen P.

Yelp
Our food was awesome! Each member of our group ordered something different and we all loved our choices! If there was an award for "Clean Plate Club" each of us would've received one. When we went the location was packed, but the staff was friendly and efficient cleaning tables and serving each group quickly. We'd love to visit again!

Yelp
Visited the Hub Cafe with my son while we were in Lincoln visiting friends. Great breakfast spot. Good food. Good coffee. Nice atmosphere. We enjoyed our food. I got the Hub Skillet and my son got the French toast off the kids menu. They had a nice Grateful Dead playlist running when we were there.

James R.

Yelp
Great service plan... show-up, wait to turn-in your order and pay, then sit where you want/can and drink your coffee with your mates to await the serving of your order. I had a great Hub Skillet with sausage, onions, peppers, air-fried kale, and THE VERY BEST FRIED POTATOES I can ever recall eating at a restaurant. I had them top their skillet with two eggs over, medium. Delicious addition! Unable to choose to try only one entre', I also ordered their biscuits with mushroom gravy, with an add of sausage. The order came dusted with roasted paprika and scallions. These were THE VERY BEST BISCUITS I have ever eaten at a restaurant. To balance out these superlative entres was coffee typical of the end of day dregs from any workplace, gas station or church pot. This is a significant university town and state capital. They gotta do better... tomorrow, hopefully. I'm 60 years old. I love to eat good food. I have not exaggerated.

Yelp
Disclaimer: This review is opinionated, sorry the experience justifies it. This is not a "Cafe" it's a melting pot of woke ideas. You'll be annoyed, but I will share the process so you can decide. It is counter ordering, the person taking the order seemed annoyed to take my order. The clearly over staffing that stands around collecting tips before you even get anything, you have to serve yourself and bus your own table. Tips: the card machine is set High for the pre-tipping when you pay. The clearest example of why people complain about tipping these days. They leave several bus tote out, some pretty full with others dirty dishes, hold your breath as you put yours in the tote, oder. The presentation of the food was impressive, but amount and actual substance was not there. I have a breakfast judgement metrics. If Huevos Ranchos is on the menu, I'm in critic mode. Finally, I understand we possibly have a homeless issue in Lincoln. While eating, two such individuals came in to shower? I go places to relax and enjoy, this was supposed to be breakfast with my mother. She had heard from many of her elderly friends about it. DONT let your elderly parents go there, the whole time, since the noted individuals enter for their hygiene services. I was on heightened observation, because it was clear I would be the only one mitigating a bad situation if it occurred.

Kris B.

Yelp
Fresh, delicious food. Staff that's eager to please. Friendly casual atmosphere. Seems like patrons and staff are both there to enjoy a good bites and time together. The Hub Cafe is becoming my new favorite brunch spot!

Laura T.

Yelp
Key note: there is no hostess with a waitlist for a table. Doesn't mean you may not have a wait - just alternate process - arrive, wait your turn to order from the counter, find a table and relax- we enjoyed one of the outdoor tables. We were there on Sun am so it was busy so it was a wait for our order to queue up and arrive. In contrast our other consideration spot had a 50 min wait to be seated. If your on tight timeline, maybe check when you place the order; this would've maybe helped us plan for our wait time. The food was very good. The portions were very filling, they were custom creations. Thumbs up from the 3 in our party. Love the farm to table creations; I had the zucchini corn omelet on special - never had that combo before so I was all in to try. Vanilla latte was delicious. For sure we will dine again as each of us noted one other thing we wanted to try next time. Hope you find this review helpful to know how this arrival/wait is different than some other places. Check out the food pics. We also saw the biscuits and gravy and some skillets at the next table- looked amazing.

Nathan P.

Yelp
Excellent food. I had the omelet and my wife had the French toast, and we each shared a bit, which was plenty of food for us. Borderline 5 I'd say "accurately priced." Expensive for brunch but good quantity and quality. And good vibes in the room. One small thing I love: big tables. Even at a 2-person table, I didn't feel squeezed. We had enough room to be comfortable. Drip coffee was just okay. ‍ One suggestion for them: give us the option to tip at the end instead of when we order. I found myself impressed and would have tipped more if I had been asked after the meal.

Madison H.

Yelp
Quick service, relaxing atmosphere, and a really large flavor selection (sugar free options too). The barista was able to suggest a drink for me and it was amazing! Their coffee and pastries are delicious.

Jesseca T.

Yelp
Came here for the first time and I probably shouldn't have came here starving. I ordered the Huevos rancheros and french toast. Realistically I wasn't expecting anything authentic but obviously nothing so small in terms of portion. The Salsa was flavorless, the huevos rancheros were more like two eggs on top of a tortilla. Im a small gal but ate my meal in 5-6 bites. The French toast on the hand was delicious however, I was kind of disappointed to see that they had already put the syrup and I couldn't do it myself. I love to drown my French toast in it.. Definitely don't come here hungry overall the food was good but not worth a brunch like meal. It was more of small bites meal. The coffee was great! You have to order your food at the counter and then find around seating if that's what you're into.

Taha D.

Yelp
This place is a gem, the food is top notch. Extremely worth coming here, this place has many great options for all kinds of diners. The people are super chill and again the FOOD IS DELICIOUS. You can tell the food quality is their top priority, which I love.

Haylee M.

Yelp
Tldr: Very limited menu, No options for substitutions, small serving size. Food is flavorful, but very hit or miss Came here on a last minute plan change and I was actually quite disappointed by the food. I got the Kale salad; I asked for dressing on the side, And the person who took my order said okay. But it came all dressed. I went to return it and ask for it on the side and they said they would not be able to do that because the kale is massaged with the salad dressing. I ended up just returning that and asking for a regular side salad instead. They gave me more quantity of that same salad with the toppings but used mixed greens instead. Very small serving size here considering it's supposed to be an entree item. It was a good combination with the beet and the goat cheese, but eating any parts separately was not good at all. The dressing by itself wasn't too great either. I also asked them for an option to add some chicken or the protein to the salad and there was none. This is the biggest surprise because most restaurants are able to offer some additions. I got slices of toast on the side and it was actually over toasted so the bread was too hard. The jam that came with was also very tart and a bit sour as opposed to sweet so I ended up having that toast plain. I'm usually quite a fan of plain toasted bread, but this was a bit too hard for that to be enjoyable. My fiance got the Chicken Bulgogi Tacos and really loved it. I tried a piece and not going to lie, I was actually really good! Very good balance of everything and it came with a little bit of mixed greens which you could add to the salad. Not a lot of places do that so we were appreciated that they actually added some vegetables on. He also got a vanilla latte but there was nothing too fancy about it he said. The friend we went with got a giant mocha and also a Hub Skillet. She said everything tasted really good and it was loaded with a lot of stuff, but we both agreed that the serving size was quite small.

Yelp
Three of us ate breakfast at The Hub last weekend and it was great! I had the Mole Chilaquiles which was a variety of chilaquilles I hadn't had before and now I am a fan. The coffee was excellent and the service was friendly and professional. This was not our first time at The Hub and will definitely not be our last!

Thealouise L.

Yelp
Such lovely servers, delightfully flavorful coffee, and spectacular food. This place already is incredibly busy, but I'll just add that it is worth it! If you have the chance to eat here I would definitely take it.

Kitty B.

Yelp
I actually had forgotten I'd ever visited the cafe before until I saw a prior Yelp review. I was actually very impressed this time. I wanted to try just about everything on the menu. The quinoa power bowl was delicious with the homemade tahin. I had a strawberry chocolate latte. I believe it was on the menu uniquely for Valentine's Day. It was really delicious. I was worried about it being too sweet but the strawberry used and light chocolate made for excellent flavor without being overpowering and feeling like I was drinking a dessert.

Jazmin L.

Yelp
This food was good. I'm not a fan of mushrooms and picked them out. Otherwise the food was good, very fancy style and kind upscale. Environment acoustics are that great and can be approved. Not worth studying here

Yelp
In our many trips to Lincoln, we have never happened upon The Hub Cafe.........until it became a stop on the 2022 Nebraska Passport program. What an amazing place surrounded by a park setting, bike paths, fountains and an outdoor amphitheater. Ample outside seating is available and offers a pet friendly option for furry friends. The place was packed on our Saturday morning visit and the line snaked out the door for the duration of our visit. Paper menus were available on clipboards that were passed done the line to those waiting to order. Once we made it to the counter things moved swiftly. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy and I selected the egg sandwich. Our food arrived promptly and the biscuits and gravy were popular. It should be noted that the gravy is not a sausage gravy, although sausage can be added for an up charge. My egg sandwich was served on a flaky, crumbly, delicious biscuit with caramelized onions and other fixings that I usually don't add to my egg sandwich. Water was self serve in a glass cooler. Families, cyclists, and college students were keeping the kitchen staff busy but the mood was relaxed and unhurried. We will be back to The Hub to try their lunch offerings.

Justin H.

Yelp
Chilaquiles were outstanding. Like best I've ever had. Add eggs to it (we also added avocado). Delicious flavors and perfectly executed. Espresso machine was down but they happily made my wife an iced latte. Great service and great food!

Ted H.

Yelp
Most consistent good breakfast and lunch in Lincoln. The ambiance is great. And they use real maple syrup

Rin L.

Yelp
I come here every once in awhile. The foods can seem to be pricey but portion size are great. Its great brunch comfort food that are healthy and won't make you feel lackadaisical afterwards.

Del B.

Yelp
The Hub Cafe is popular with my family whom I came to visit and I met my daughter there for lunch based on proximity to her work and her dietary preferences. Being near the campus the ambience was pretty much what I expected and we arrived just prior to lunchtime. Obviously many were frequent diners and were busy enjoying conversations and food choices. As a new diner I always pay attention to what others are eating and will often ask for suggestions from others. Ordering was straightforward and the order taker very friendly and proficient in her duties. Having never ordered Avocado Toast in a restaurant before and on the advice of daughter i ordered it. I would say that it met all expectations with the exception of being what I felt was a very skimpy portion of avocado as the photo references. On the other hand the bread and the actual taste of the dish was extremely good. Still I have never seen a recipe for the dish with so little avocado. I heartily recommend Hub Cafe and the taste of the dish, just don't expect much avocado. All in all a pleasantly informal cafe I look forward to enjoying again with friends and family.

Madeline P.

Yelp
My absolute favorite breakfast/brunch spot in Lincoln! Incredible fresh ingredients - farm to table! They have a great menu and atmosphere. In the warmer weather I love to enjoy the outdoor seating. You walk in and order at the counter - they will bring your food to you! Highly recommend checking out The Hub Cafe! My top favorites: The Biscuit Egg Sandwich and the Avocado Toast. (Beware this avocado toast is unlike any you have ever had!)

Chloe E.

Yelp
Love the Hub. The avocado toast is my favorite thing on the menu. There is usually a long wait time and seems like there would be no place to sit, but I never have issues with getting a seat.

Ann L.

Yelp
The avocado and lemon preserve toast was sooo good! Friendly, clean and great atmosphere!

Mike W.

Yelp
Had the omelet of the day, ham spinach and Muenster. Fun atmosphere and great service

Jen J.

Yelp
good food, friendly staff, and willing to work with food allergies. Would definitely recommend cc

Dave L.

Yelp
Excellent biscuits and gravy, friendly and prompt service, nice outdoor seating with view of creek and trail. I'll be back!

D K.

Yelp
I think this place is fine, but falls short in what it tries to be. I took my family (7 of us, 4 were college kids) and we had a pretty wide variety. The biscuits and gravy either had way too much biscuit or way short of gravy. It was just extremely dry. Same problem with the French toast. The compote that comes with it is good, but there's not nearly enough, or they need to give you 3 ounces of syrup to supplement. The fried breakfast potatoes were good, just under seasoned. So quality service, quality ingredients, quality menu, but lackluster execution.

Jennifer Q.

Yelp
Everything about this place is incredible, the food, the service and the vibe. We had the skillet and originally ordered the French toast. The chef himself came out and talked to uscame when they couldn't make the French toast and worked with us to find other options. I can't recommend this place enough!!

Mari A.

Yelp
This place seems like a great choice until you receive your food and all the sudden all the fruit flies and flies start comming your way. I'll probably just order coffee and sit outside next time.

Chris R.

Yelp
I was super excited to try this place for breakfast with farm to table concept. Big supporter of sustainable food. The place has a hipster vibe to it and the music was good. Ordered the biscuits and gravy. Presentation looked great. Disappointingly the food was tepid in temperature. I also paid extra for sausage and received a scanty amount. Don't recommend paying extra for it. The gravy is tasty and the biscuit unique with a smoky flavor to it. Had this been served piping hot they would've received 4 stars.

Anev S.

Yelp
I am very easy to please with an omelette, and even easier to please with breakfast potatoes in any form, but I have to say this plate was one of the finest examples of both I've had in several years. Everything was so fresh and made with care, and an enormous portion to boot. The service here is friendly and invested in doing a good job, just a little disorganized, but I can hardly be mad about that when they stay so busy. I'm a big fan of the decor in here and the landscaping outside. It's a really nice place to have a meal. I'd call it restful if not for the way the polished concrete amplifies the sound inside into a cacophony. None of my minor complaints will prevent me from returning, though I have been thwarted on prior attempts by the parking situation- you can only approach from the south if you want to park in front, and to park down the street means paying for your spot. All said, worth the effort.

S D.

Yelp
Expensive breakfast with an unusual tastey flair. Good service and they make great oat milk latte.

Jacque D.

Yelp
ASOLUTELY LOVE THE HUB, however, today was not a good day. We ordered and sat at a table overlooking the park. New diners joined us and were served while we waited for over 30 min. Finally we inquired as to our order and were told it would be right out. This photo is what we were served. My avocado toast was charred and my husband's over easy egg was crispy and the rest of his farmer's breakfast was inedible. We didn't take it back as are traveling, went out of our way to eat here and felt we couldn't take more time. So sad.

Evelyn M.

Yelp
Perfect last stop after loading cars this morning. It's been a tough college year and to end sitting outside with great tea in adorable pots and a fabulous breakfast was really needed. Positive end to a tough isolated year. Thanks The Hub Cafe for helping us end the year on a fabulous positive vibe! Loved the outdoor seating, huge breakfast portions and service!

Jeff K.

Yelp
The menu is a stray from our standard choice, but it's a nice change. I enjoyed a farm egg sandwich with bacon. My wife had the grown up grilled cheese. Both good, but too much pesto on the grillled cheese. We just scraped it off. Not a big deal. We had some good coffee with our sandwiches. The place was packed and they still delivered our order quickly. We will stop by next time we need a change in our menu.

Josh N.

Yelp
I want to give 5 stars but can't. 5 stars for food quality and flavor for sure. Gluten free options galore which is great. My wife and I each had the Chicken Bulgogi tacos and she got a side of avocado and I got a side of chorizo. Everything was exploding with flavor and done very well, even the side of greens that came with the tacos had a nice rich creamy dressing added in a light just right amount. I give four stars because I hate this awkward order at the counter then sit down stuff. You have to bus your own table and I saw a bucket with a rag in it, do I have to clean my own table too? I suppose it helps them keep prices down by not have an extra person walking around taking orders, cleaning tables etc but it would really improve the customer experience. That being said I will be back for sure because the food was awesome! Oh yeah, I had a latte also which was done very well too. Don't forget your tasty coffee drink.

Itslychee ..

Yelp
Throwing some vegetables in a bowl took them one and a half hour! When I was told it would be about 40min wait which was ridiculous enough. When I checked with them after a hour sitting and waiting they just asked "what did you order?" Then left. Didn't tell me an estimate of waiting time nor apologized. The whole time no one said sorry that they forgot my order and about the long wait. Horrible management and customer service.

Clarice O.

Yelp
My friend and I went to The Hub Café the other day for lunch. It's a really nice little shop with a café/bar atmosphere and a friendly/fun vibe. We ordered the daily special, which was pizza chicken, made with blue cheese, celery, and a spicy red sauce. I can't narrow down exactly which flavor to attribute this to, but the dish tasted more Asian-inspired than classic Italian. All the flavors worked really well together; the dish was totally delicious and the portion size was more than large enough for the two of us to share. We also ordered a sandwich to share; it was served on fresh, crusty baguette bread, and it was served with a mixed green salad that was surprisingly difficult to keep our forks! Both the sandwich and the salad were excellent, and the sandwich was large enough to feed two hungry people easily :-) Service was prompt, efficient, and friendly; prices were reasonable. I look forward to returning to try more of their menu items.

Mary R.

Yelp
This place was crazy busy on a Saturday at lunch. We were here post UNL graduation and it was a good place for a large group, with no reservations, and special food restrictions. Also, their food is from locally sourced farmers. I like to be supportive of places like this for sure! I ordered the huevos rancheros adding avocado for 99 cents more. Plus I customized my eggs to be harder and not runny. It really was delicious and had a bit of heat to it. Most of us had water and it was a serve yourself station. One of the water stations only had ice left in it, but there were two water stations. They also had tubs to collect dishes, so it was definitely a help yourself atmosphere. If I was to gave any low marks the food wait time was long but I acknowledge we had 12 in our group.

Dany C.

Yelp
A few of my friends decided to try this place for our Saturday brunch. We loved the food, coffee, and atmosphere! Really appreciate how they make their own whipped cream cheese for their sourdough toast -- so good! It's definitely at hot-spot brunch spot to get their early if you can!

Danielle S.

Yelp
One of the best breakfast places in Lincoln. The menu is so good and the food is amazing! Atmosphere is great. Sit on the patio.

Amy B.

Yelp
What a great location with amazing food. Seats out back overlook the beautifully landscaped park trails. The menu looked so scrumptious and we will definitely be back to try more items. We had the French toast and breakfast sandwich on a biscuit. Rooibos tea was served in a pot with hand-filled and tied tea bag.

Alesha S.

Yelp
Hub Cafe is a great little place overlooking the bike trail. It's run by Branched Oak Farm, and the ingredients are locally grown/sourced and fresh. The menu is limited, but that just means they take care to make what they offer great! I had the Shakshuka, my friend hadthe Egg Sandwich (added bacon), and we split the French Toast. I also had a cold brew (tasty!). The Shakshuka was delicious and very filling. The warming spices warmed my tummy and my soul. The older pictures show a lot more flatbread with it...mine came with 1/2 piece of lightly toasted bread sticking up like a shark fin. The review of the biscuit sandwich was that it was the best biscuit my friend has ever eaten! It comes with just egg and cheese, so be sure to add meat or avocado per your breakfasty desires. The french toast was dee-lish, and was 2 large pieces of brioche, citrusy-quark, raspberry compote, pecans, and syrup. Quark is on many menu items, and if you don't know what it is, shame shame! J/K, I had no idea and had to google it as I perused the menu...it's a mild and delicious soft cheese that reminds me of mascarpone. If you're in the area, or riding/running on the trails, this is a great spot to grab a bite or coffee! It's only open for breakfast and lunch, and it started to get pretty busy around 11:15. There is a ton of bicycle parking out front. I'll definitely come again, as the food is great, and it supports a local farm!

Kay J.

Yelp
It's an ok b'fast spot. Very few traditional entrees and lots of mediterranean and bowls. Really really great coffee! $30 for 1 entrees and 2 beverages. Hip college vibe.

Deborah S.

Yelp
I would give this 5 stars except for one thing that made me want to to write this review. I've eaten at the hub several times and always enjoy it. This morning, I was really craving a cup of tea before work so I ordered earl gray and toast with quark and jam to go. Please ask your barista to either leave the tea bag in the tea when they give it to me or or at least offer it to me. My tea wasn't steeped enough to flavor the milk water. Earl gray has a strong taste but all a got was a cup of steamed milky water that kinda had a slight taste of earl gray. The more I walked to work, the more annoyed I became. I lamented the missing tea bag.... enough to write a review about. I bet it would have been an epic cup of tea by the time I reached city campus. The toast was awesome though.

Jessica S.

Yelp
I probably shouldn't update this every time I go but I'm always impressed. I've been there twice since my last review and loved every minute of it. The service, the atmosphere, and of course, the food. The last two times I was so impressed with the bulgogi tacos I got them both times. They are very meaty and have so much great flavor. Topped with a runny egg. Oh my. It also has the perfect amount of spice and the kim chi flavors mixed with the cilantro is a very nice touch. I also love to get the Moroccan Mint Tea (because I get my own little pot of SUPER hot water). My co-worker had the Vietnamese bowl. He said it was really fresh, the pork belly was delicious and well prepared. Kim chi was nice and the radishes gave it a nice kick. The fried egg was also a nice touch and the lemon added a nice citrusy, fresh taste. Overall a wonderful, flavorful dish. The squash ban mi also got rave reviews. My friend added avocado for a bit more oomph. The squash was not hot, the Kim chi gave it a crunch, the avocado was a good choice, and the bread was crunchy just how she likes it. It's really just a wonderful little place. A little loud sometimes but always busy and I always feel welcome. Keep it up Hub Cafe!!
