The Hummus and Pita Co. (INSIDE GREAT LAKES CROSSING OUTLET)

The food was absolutely delicious, and guess what? They have vegan options too! I had the pita with chicken and a spicy sauce (just a heads-up, it’s super spicy!). It’s fast food, so you’ll need to grab a share table, but it’s still good.

Went for a second visit and had an amazing experience again! We tried the falafel pita with Spanish eggplant, spicy hummus and tahini. It was a little messy but tasted incredible. The chicken schwarma bowl was also amazing.

I really liked this restaurant which is located at the Great Lakes Crossing Outlet Mall’s food court! I ordered a vegan Shwarma in laffa bread with a build your own blah blah blah! I went with relatives, and as usual, we all liked the food we ordered!!!

Definitely the hidden gem of the food court! Try the chicken shawarma bowl if you’re new to Mediterranean food. I highly recommend the sun dried tomatoe hummus flavor. The chicken was fantastic, perfectly seasoned, not spicy or soaked in garlic like you get at some other Mediterranean places. Staff was friendly and I got my food fast.

Best Hummus and Shawarma in the whole area. We have come here multiple times and it was always fresh. The taste is great and the crew incredibly friendly. This store is hiding so much that the name is not doing justice. Besides a large variety of Hummus and Pita you can have different meat options, vegan options. Sauces, salad, so much more. I highly recommend to give this place a try

Every time i come to the outlet this is my place to eat!!! They have great meat options including a Vegan shawarma that tastes amazing! The pita is big and you can add a few more toppings with an extra $.

The food is delicious and plentiful. What I loved most is that it's fresh and not too salty, like most other fast food establishments. Onions with sumac, eggplant, cauliflower, tabbouli, pickled cabbage -- such a wide variety. Probably the least tasty were the meats. The chicken shawarma has curry on it -- not bad but coming from an Arab, not traditional at all. It's also pretty oily. My sister got the chicken breast chunks and they tasted like tomato paste. When I come back again, I'll opt for everything but the meats. Delicious!

We ordered the gyros and it was over cooked. They did replace it when we made a complained that the meat was over cooked. It also took forever to order. We probably waited in line for over 30 minutes. It is the mall so expect a wait when ordering. We did order a bowl of cauliflower, spicy eggplant, beans, and beets and those were delicious. The pita was soft and warm and the hummus was spicy and really added a kick to the gyro.

I love hummus so as soon as I saw the sign at the Hummus and Pita Co at the Great Lakes Crossing, I knew that was where I was going to get my food. All I wanted was hummus and pita bread. They had 3 types of hummus and it wasn't on their menu, but I asked if I could just get a side of hummus. The girl said yes and that it came with a piece of regular or whole wheat pita bread. I got the original flavor hummus and that is why only 3 stars. The hummus was not even as good as the kind you get at the grocery stores. The pita bread was fine and actually very thick, but I just didn't care for the taste of the Hummus.

Tried this place since we were in the mall. Got the chicken bowl. It is around $15. I got the spicy hummus. Be warned. It is very spicy. Also be warned: you only get two toppings in the warm area and one topping in the cold area. Although it is a heaping scoop, i don't think it was very worth it. I wanted more toppings but didn't feel comfortable paying more for, for example, lettuce. One thing I didn't like was everything was quite oily. Corn. Cabbage. Chicken. Hummus. Very greasy. Glistening. Almost like on pizza. It is very hard for food this greasy/ oily to taste bad. Service was ok. They were polite. For mall food, average and i think better than majority of other options. Average-quality mediterranean food with oil - heavy toppings and extra charge for more than 2 toppings with a version of Hummus that is quite spicy.

Ordered the gyro because they didn't have steak. Food was flavorful. Waitress was pleasant and polite. Many different combinations. It's in the food court so it's very busy.

The dude ripped us off. The bowl after we were charged for "extras" was $21.95 what!! Are you kidding, you would think getting charged that the bowl would be overflowing, but not at all. A joke, definitely felt ripped off, forget this place go somewhere else. And Google is full of fake reviews. I'd only go again if it was free, Hummus and Pita Co.

I really wanted to try their Chickpea shake but unfortunately they were out today. The girls working there were very nice and apologetic about it. I wasn't hungry for a food but definetly need to try all their vegan options which they have plenty of. I did bought a side of vegan shawarma and tried it later at home and it was delicious. I hope next time I'll be there they will have the shake.

Terrible, I posted my review a few days ago and it was deleted! My experience being deleted is unprofessional and down right bad after I stated in my first explanation that Dearborn spoiled me and I don't recommend this to anyone.

The food was great and service was fast, the environment was very clean and staff was extremely patient and friendly.

This is a super interesting concept. It's a Mediterranean food court that is set up as a buffet style Mediterranean restaurant. The lamb is Rotisserie cooked with authentic Greek spices. With Israeli cous cous, Mediterranean rice, Moroccan beans, Spanish eggplant, Lebanese cauliflower, mushroom hummus with Tahina sauce with lots of roasted vegetables. Homemade pita bread to fill on top. Very good and unique chickpea milkshake. Many vegetarian choices and calorie conscious items. The garlic spread is super strong. The meat was delicious but a little tough. Superb meal that I totally enjoyed and will definitely make a regular stop.

My first ever visit! The service I received from Samaia was wonderful. Friendly, courtesies and helped me navigate through my decisions for the myriad of topping options. The food was really tasty, and I look forward to enjoying it again. The one drawback was that the pita began to fall apart as I was eating it.

Such a fantastic vegetarian or vegan option, they also offer meat based meals. I got the falafel pita and it's so delicious! Great flavors and very filling. The falafel itself was crispy and delicious, then combined with hummus, pita, Mediterranean salad and tzatziki sauce, a flavor explosion! Must try! The service is quick and wonderful!

I tried the Vegan Shwarma at this restaurant. It was great. They have a variety of hummus and sauces. I loved the Jalapeno and Cilantro hummus and Chimichurri sauce(vegetarian, gluten free and spicy). Th falfels were fresh and delicious

So this place surprised me into loving chickpeas. Who ever thought that you would love a chickpea so much that you would drink a milkshake made from it. That's right folks they have done magic at this place. I'm positive that the other magic is all the options and combinations that they have. The fresh crisp veggies makes me feel confident that I made the right decision in the food court . This place is great the staff is friendly and yay you get to taste before you buy! They are super helpful! I love them and the food. I will be back again soon!

Glad to welcome The Hummus and Pita Co. brand from NY. Their staff is super friendly and helpful when they know it's your first time ordering. I enjoyed all crunchy pita chips, crispy colorful veggies, and creamy hummus, oh my. Their most famous item include the Spanish Eggplant (my fav), which has tomatoes and spices to give it a bit of a kick! Whatever you crave- sweet, savory, spicy, crunchy, tangy, they have it here. The portions are so filling, I even had some leftovers. For dessert, their Chickpea Chillers were quite delightful. I loved how it was vegan, dairy-free and still delish with its natural sweetness from dates and bananas. Will def be back to try other items. Thanks for having me!

This is our go-to place when visiting the Crossings. Great fresh food and value for $$. If you've never hand Mediterranean food this is a great place to explore the menu.

I feel like this place is better, but I didn't get the best thing on the menu. The steak was really good for a fast food restaurant! It had great flavor and was pretty tender. The cauliflower was also really good if you like turmeric. The Mediterranean salad and original hummus were not very flavorful. The greens bowl also was too much lettuce for how much toppings are given. The online menu and the menu at the restaurant labels what's gluten free and vegan. You can also check for dairy online. It's one of the more expensive places in the food court, but the quality is worth it if you got the right combo.

I was really excited to try this place as it's the only somewhat interesting place to eat in this mall. However, there were MANY issues with this place. I placed my order on their website and it said it would be ready in 30 minutes. When I arrived the 30 minutes later there were 2 employees at the counter, one was helping a customer and didn't acknowledge me and the other was on their cell phone and did not acknowledge me. The employee that finished with the customer finished and still said nothing to me. When I finally asked if he could help me with my online order he seemed very nervous, didn't say anything and then pulled the other employee over who said to me "none of this stuff you ordered is we have on the menu anymore and I cancelled the order". I never got a confirmation. She never apologized, never offered something else to order, nothing, just that I would get my refund tomorrow. I was shocked at how there was absolutely no level of customer service here. I proceeded to walk around and look for somewhere else to eat and every time I walked by this place the employees were just doing nothing and on their phones. I emailed the corporate office and have not received any response in over a week. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR MONEY. They clearly have no customer service policies in place and don't care how they treat people. I'm sure the manager of this place is non existent and does the bare minimum. The food didn't look great either so I think I dodged a bullet, looked like it been reheated several times.

I have a dairy allergy so I was excited to try the Chickpea Chiller (chickpea milkshake). It's still advertised on their menu, and they have the machine sitting there on the table, but they told me they don't make it. Save the trip if that's what you're looking for.

Looking through all of the outlet mall food court selections, I happened upon this awesome place! I was immediately greeted by the wonderful smile and hello of Christian, one of the people working today, and was starving! He recommended the bowl which I got with gyro protein, red tomato hummus (per his recommendation), Mediterranean rice, cauliflower (per his recommendation), Tzatziki, feta, and a delicious pita. Mmmmmmmm! So good! The food was a perfect temperature and tasted fresh and flavorful! Highly recommend this if you're wanting a quick, healthier, and delicious lunch - or any meal! And a special thank you to Christian for being so kind, knowledgeable, fun, helpful, and energizing! And thanks for the coupon! Check this place out, everyone!!!

Just stopped in the eat some food & came across "The Hummus and Pita co." Absolutely amazing the pita I had was non stop packed with flavor & exquisite taste everything was made fresh & right in front of me along with the price of my meal it seemed to good to be true I would highly recommend this establishment I will be coming here anytime I come to the mall

I was hangry walking through the mall when I saw this place I ran to the line because it was a healthy option. I WISH I BOUGHT TWO BOWLS so I could have one for dinner at home. I am really picky about falafel and I try it everywhere. This was so flavorful, not dry and they dropped it in the fryer when I ordered it. I think it only came with 2 filler add ones but I ordered a few more (who can stop at two??) Jamison was very kind and mentioned this is a NY company. I really wish they would open One in my neighborhood. I'd go at least twice a week. The flavors, freshness and price were on point I wouldn't change a thing at all honestly. Can't wait to go back!!! Next time I wanna get this same thing and try the chicken shawarma and a chickpea chiller . The pita bread was hot, crispy on outside but warm and soft inside- not dry at all. NIce Job guys!! I'm excited you exist. Oh, and they have orange fountain pop that was carbonated real nicely !!(bonus!)

Just spent $12 on veggies and the container wasn't even filled up. I got the vegetarian greens and was served a handful of spinach, a small scoop of grilled veggies and tabouli, 6 slices of cucumber slices with a lot of hummus, tzatziki sauce. I feel like this would be an acceptable price with a serving of protein or at least a full container of veggies. The taste was good but pricing was way off for the vegetarian option.

Great choice at Great Lakes Crossing. It's right in the food court, close to LEGO land, Sea Life Aquarium, and the little kids free play land. We had decided to eat here based on the Yelp reviews, but when we saw the short line when everyone else's looked soooo long, I'll admit we had second thoughts. But, we went ahead, and..... we were very glad we did! We tried the bowls, which are a $2 up charge on the pita (and still come with a pita) but were excellent. The servers will let you have a little taste of something to see if you like it. I was able to try the red pepper hummus (delicious) and that's the spicy eggplant, which had a kick but was very very good. The chicken Shawarma comes highly recommended. It's JUICY and well-seasoned and complemented everything. The tabouleh and quinoa salad also get a thumbs up! The kids meal is very healthy choice for kids. It comes with rice, a meat, hummus, and then the rice can get topped with your choice of sauces and veggies. And there's even a pita, too. It was a good size kids meal. Neither of my kids could finish it, so dad and I helped and we didn't mind! We all usually love toum (garlic spread) so I wasn't really worried about the other reviews that said it was so spicy... but I should've been. It was too hot for the kids, and packed quite a kick. They are making that with a lot of garlic. I still liked it, but consider yourself warned. The tzaki sauce was good drizzled on my veg & feta. Our whole experience there was FRESH, delicious, fast, and healthy... It is was way better than a bowl of fried chicken chunks w bottled sauce and rice from a place with a line 4X as long. This place comes highly recommend. I so appreciate it when I can try a new place that other Yelpers have endorsed, and now I am pleased to pass it onto you for the win!

Food is good, it would have been nice if the guy told me what was included with a bowl instead of me being told at the register that my veggie bowl was $17.

This new, exciting place with amazing smell caught my attention as I was walking in the food court. It is basically a chipotle style restaurant with middle eastern food so you can taste and customize your dish as you go. Their chicken is so juicy and very well marinated and their collection of sauces and hummus is incredible! VERY rare to find a restaurant with this price and this quality in the entire mall. Definitely coming back soon to try other combinations. Cheers!

Hummus & Pita Co. had the best catering service!! Food was amazing! Everything from the roasted pepper hummus to the vegetarian shawarma! The food is always fresh and tasty! Definitely recommend it to everyone especially vegetarians!

First time ordering food here. The portion, variety and the tastes are fantastic. The gentleman that help is great at explaining and offering help with our order. Jamison is his name and he also inform us which one has pure vegan options versus vegetarian option. This would be my place for quick bite to eat.

First off- blown away by the wonderful customer service from an awesome young woman, I never got her name! We had some coupons which made the order a tad more complex but she was so accommodating and helpful through the entire process. I ordered four bowls with a ton of stuff inside, and she was able to get it all in. The food ended up tasting delicious and I would come back again. The only reason I knocked down a star was because when I asked if they knew how to make any desserts they didn't know how haha which is fine, but maybe taking it off the menu would stop the confusion for people and workers!

UPDATE: I received a call from the manager. He offered to rectify the situation generously and gave me a few options to resolve my frustration. I truly appreciate the call and the effort to make things right! I visited them in person a few weeks later and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was good as well. Never again. I ordered a pita for delivery today. 15 minutes after the scheduled delivery time someone called me from the restaurant to tell me the $2.75 canned drink I ordered was unavailable and my replacement options were a plain bottled water or fountain pop. Then, after my order was delivered over 1 hour & 10 minutes late, the pop was leaking everywhere (not the driver's fault), the sandwich didn't have all of the toppings I ordered, the bread was soggy and the falafel was cold.

The chicken was over cooked and dry, they charge for everything like a spirit flight. Also they are too cheap to give a refill on you beverage even though they charge $3 plus for it. Save your money this place is horrible.

I cannot express my gratitude enough for the employees at this restaurant. I accidentally came up right before closing and they still welcomed me and spent time helping me find what options would work with my many allergies and food intolerances. My meal is delicious, my appreciation is endless. I know I'm a nightmare customer with all of my food issues but they never once treated me that way. And to boot- the food is truly amazing. This is a great place for a meal, 100% recommended. Need to add that the grape leaves are AMAZING

I went here today and had no idea what to do. I told the man helping me to make me a gyro that is good. He walked me through it and... OMG IT IS GOOD. I am going back to get one to go for dinner!!! The food is SO GOOD!

It was my wife and I's first time at The Hummus and Pita and we enjoyed it very much! The food and customer service was great. Jamison knew the menu well and made sure to tell us what sides had meat in them before we even asked. This was nice, especially since we are both vegetarians. I am going to tell my friends and family to make sure to stop by! 10/10 recommend.

Very disappointed. I'm a vegetarian so I was definitely excited when I came across hummus and pita. I was overcharged because of a mistake the girl making my bowl made. I barely got full scoops of anything and all the meat eater bowls were overflowing. A complete joke. I didn't even get everything i wanted because the man at the register was rushing everyone through. The flavors were great, just wish I wasn't cheated

Joshua and Christian were very helpful in guiding me through the food selections and possible combos, even provided a tasting or two of the hummus and sides. Overall tasty food and great value.

Do no eat here if you have Celiac disease or major gluten/wheat allergy. Don't get me wrong, the food was delicious, but this review is heavily based on them advertising certain menu items are gluten free. I had the gyro meat, and almost all the vegetables options that were labeled gluten free (grilled onions, Lebanese cauliflower, Mediterranean salad, roasted vegetables, sun dried tomato hummus, purple cabbage). In addition to the cross contamination being so high, and based on my strong reaction of 2-3 hours of laying next to the toilet, one or more of the items had to have contained gluten (I'm guessing whatever seasoning/marinade was on the meat). Like I said, the food tastes amazing, but you should definitely consider how severe your gluten allergy is before eating here.

Good food but not all the options that the website boasts. I bought a Groupon and there were no shakes or cauliflower rice.

The staff were so lovely and friendly. They knew the menu items very well and offered lots of samples. Food was great and hit the spot. Will definitely come again every time I'm at Great Lakes mall!

This was our First time there and just at closing the Manger Jamison was very informative and Patient with us allowing us to taste different hummus and the food was good. If your at Great Lakes Crossing please give this restaurant a try plus the food was still hot and it's health. ENJOY
