"American-Mediterranean chain Hummus and Pita Co. has confirmed that its first franchise outpost in metro Detroit will land at the Great Lakes Crossing Outlets food court in Auburn Hills. The location is slated to open in October, according to a release. The New York-based chain had previously announced its intentions to open five restaurants in Southeast Michigan with locations in Detroit, Ann Arbor, Troy, Warren, and Canton. It’s part of an overall growth strategy for the company, which intends to roll out 100 franchise locations in 2018." - Brenna Houck

Definitely the hidden gem of the food court! Try the chicken shawarma bowl if you’re new to Mediterranean food. I highly recommend the sun dried tomatoe hummus flavor. The chicken was fantastic, perfectly seasoned, not spicy or soaked in garlic like you get at some other Mediterranean places. Staff was friendly and I got my food fast.

Best Hummus and Shawarma in the whole area. We have come here multiple times and it was always fresh. The taste is great and the crew incredibly friendly. This store is hiding so much that the name is not doing justice. Besides a large variety of Hummus and Pita you can have different meat options, vegan options. Sauces, salad, so much more. I highly recommend to give this place a try

VEGAN REVIEW TIME EXPRESS: Alright, so you’re saying 5 stars? In a food court? Okay, calm down, we’re grading on a curve. This place labels all their stuff nice and big so I know what’s vegan. It’s crazy that other places can’t do this but this place DOES. That’s like five stars all in itself. I got the vegan shawarma pita with sun dried tomato hummus with purple cabbage, spiced onions, and spicy harissa. This was a BIG STUFFED PITA. Definitely enough for a meal, I’m glad I didn’t get fries too. It was pretty alright! The ladies making the food were very nice and engaging. I saw them taking time and explaining everything very patiently to everyone. ANGELS. The dude behind the register was alright but I guess kinda vacant? Whatever, it’s work, can’t be smiling all the time. Anyways, overall it was pretty good but mostly I just appreciate the options. Thank you!

Every time i come to the outlet this is my place to eat!!! They have great meat options including a Vegan shawarma that tastes amazing! The pita is big and you can add a few more toppings with an extra $.

The food is delicious and plentiful. What I loved most is that it's fresh and not too salty, like most other fast food establishments. Onions with sumac, eggplant, cauliflower, tabbouli, pickled cabbage -- such a wide variety. Probably the least tasty were the meats. The chicken shawarma has curry on it -- not bad but coming from an Arab, not traditional at all. It's also pretty oily. My sister got the chicken breast chunks and they tasted like tomato paste. When I come back again, I'll opt for everything but the meats. Delicious!

Great selection of vegetarian food. We got two bowls, with one being the vegan shawarma and both were delicious. They didn't skimp on the serving sizes either

We ordered the gyros and it was over cooked. They did replace it when we made a complained that the meat was over cooked. It also took forever to order. We probably waited in line for over 30 minutes. It is the mall so expect a wait when ordering. We did order a bowl of cauliflower, spicy eggplant, beans, and beets and those were delicious. The pita was soft and warm and the hummus was spicy and really added a kick to the gyro.

My wife and I stopped in to try this place out after hearing that had a LOT of vegan friendly options. We were not disappointed! Jameson greeted us and explained he was the manager and loved to talk about his food. He allowed us to sample a few things that were new to us and it was all delicious. We crafted our vegan pita wraps and loved eating them. We enjoyed some original flavored pita chips as well and they were also delicious. We'll be back again for sure. Thanks Jameson!
