Got Thai bowl but substituted chicken for shrimp + tofu. The Thai sauce is delicious! The bowl is very filling.

When checking out and about to choose the tip… I realized cost of the meal seemed to be substantially higher than I expected. When I asked about why the price was so high, the cashier clicked a button to ‘force’ the transaction to occur on her end, and then proceeded to explain why when I no longer could change anything. Basically, she bypassed the tip step to complete the transaction the moment I might have wanted to change my order. Some people may be hard on money, and this is a very inconsiderate and unprofessional way to do business. The food tasted fine, although I regret not trying the more culturally unique food that you can find at the market.

Hungry Hatch food truck came to my kids school to provide teachers with lunch. It was such a perfect setup because they were able to have most meals prepare ahead of time. Teachers just went up gave their name and got their meal with no hassle at all. And the teachers who forgot to submit their orders could still put in their orders late. It was quick efficient and the food was delicious. Nothing but positive reviews from all the teachers I talked to.

One of my favorite local spots to use for events catering, and top choice when I’m in River Market! Jasmine is always so friendly and makes great suggestions. Their menu offers great choices for all diets!

So many healthy options! Menu is friendly for dietary restrictions like vegetarian, vegan, gluten free. They make their own cold pressed juice which was tasty!

I really loved this place, I order the cuban bowl with spicy tofu. The rices I believed was cooked with coconut milk it had a lot of flavor, I really really liked it!!

Not the greatest first experience. Order: Harvest Bowl with Chicken and honey mustard sauce. Pros - The team here is extremely friendly and welcoming. They even had a good suggestion for a sauce for my bowl. My Harvest Bowl with chicken was ready in a matter of minutes and for the portion of food the price was fair. Cons - I got my food back to the office and opened my food and started to dig in. I mixed it around and there was a an entire intact head of greens at the bottom. The warmth of the food has caused it to wilt pretty badly and for me that put off an unpleasant flavor. After looking at the head of greens there was also an eye lash in it too. This curved my appetite and I ended up tossing the food. I probably won’t make it back for a second visit. To be fair their menu election was great and the establishment was extremely tidy. Probably just a oneoff instance in my case.

Great healthy spot at River Market! I got the cuban rice bowl and my girlfriend got the classic wrap with chipotle ranch. Food came out fast and the service was informative and friendly! Will definitely be a go to spot! Additional info: Deliver with Door Dash and you can order ahead to skip the line during busy hours.

Came here on a busy Saturday for lunch. Inside it was calm and quiet, a pleasant reprieve from the sedulous weekend crowd. The girl at the counter was super helpful, explaining the menu options. I was happy to discover that all the bowls and wraps can be vegetarian friendly. I finally decided on the Koran rice bowl. I chose wisely, it was delish. And it looked like a colorful work of art. Looking forward to trying all the other enticing options on my return trips.

Great food! I love the amazing selection of healthy choices made with care. Excellent and kind staff. Cute little spot in the River Marker to relax and read while you enjoy a great meal. If you see her food truck out and about be sure to check it out

Update: front desk also said owner would call within 24 hours to remedy original issue (below); no follow up call ever happened. According to owner's response below, the front desk explained why they weren't able to help, but sometimes workers have a different story for the owner than what the customer experiences... as was certainly the case here. We were only advised that we would be called by the owner - and again: not an *accurate* communication. There are plenty of other local, vegan (-friendly) restaurants whose food and customer service we love; we will certainly continue to support them and also continue to avoid this one! We paid Monday for pickup today (Thursday). Spouse drove 1/2 hour to arrive at pick up time. Bank app shows payment; drone at counter says no record of order. They insist that they can't follow through with order without owner ok, but can't provide info on when owner may be in. SCAM

We were in the river market area on a Saturday morning for the farmers market. Stopped in here for lunch. The restaurant was small, clean and air conditioned . There were a few tables and chairs in the front for seating. We were greeted by the girl at the counter right away and she nicely explained the menu to us as this was our first time in. They have flavors from around the world. You can build a bowl or create a wrap. I opted for the Thai bowl. The ingredients were fresh and had a good flavor. The potion of the bowl was a decent size.

Wayyyy overpriced. $18 bowl for nothing total waste of money. The staff were sweet but the food was terrible

We had carry out and we're blown away! The presentation of each of the dishes was wonderful and only surpassed by the taste! The spring rolls?? Do not forget to order them! They definitely are a favorite! Get both of the sauces and you will not be disappointed!

This was a great salad and near the financial district of KC. The service was very fast and they made sure to label everything well which was great given allergies of our group. They also had great discounts on ubereats such as buy one get one free promos, making this a very affordable, healthy restaurant. However, the salad was very average. There was a good amount of greens but it felt a little expensive given the portion was quite small. I also felt the tzatziki was a little dense (almost mayo consistency).

Everything was freshly made to order and was very clean place to eat at. The service was super knowledgeable with ingredients and recommendations.

Had this food truck at the 4th of July cele at the World War 1 museum! My friend and I both got bowl and we're obsessed! We stalked the instagram and found out it's in river market and are excited to head there this weekend to get it again! Would definitely recommend!

I ordered a kc barbecue burrito, but when i got home to eat it , it was literally COVERED in bbq sauce on the inside . So much that it was gross to eat , and had to throw it away and waste $15 for just one burrito . Never going here again no wonder its always empty inside..

We had the hungry hatch at an event they were at! The service was unbelievably quick! Where they fall short is they don't take Apple Pay, and our two wraps were $30 before tip. We had the Thai and the one with shrimp in it. The Thai was heavy on the greens and the meat was dry. The shrimp one had maybe 4 pieces of shrimp in the whole wrap which was quite disappointing. I like the idea you can do the menu in salad, bowl or wrap form but disappointed with the final result.

I tried the Thai Chicken bowl with rice. The bowl was so delicious and light, exactly what I needed after days of bbq galore! I would definitely return in the future.

Something for everyone. They have tacos, bowls, wraps and salads, it's very much a "however you want it!" kind of place. Which is great if you have a group with restrictions: keto, vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free... everyone can find or make what they need. They also did a great job of labeling the menu so you can sort it out without asking a ton of questions. I had the Caribbean Jerk Chicken Tacos and my brother tried the Classic bowl and the Italian. All were good, but my favorite was the pesto salad I ordered on the side. It was so fresh and delicious! Avocado pesto of grape tomatoes, mini mozzarella balls and zucchini.

The Hungry Hatch operates a bowl/wrap/salad food truck, and has also recently applied that concept to a location at The Parlor. I tried their food truck at an event in Leawood. My southwest salad ($10.50) was served just a couple of minutes after I ordered at the window, where the service was cheerful, friendly, and efficient - nice! The bowl measured 6" x 2.5", with plenty of shredded, white, moist, tasty chicken, fresh spring mix, and a delicious chipotle aioli dressing. I'm a fan of the bowl concept, and the prices were reasonable. They offer gluten-free, paleo, and keto options. Very nice!

So delish! Cutest spot with lovely and knowledgeable staff. I got the Cuban bowl w shrimp, and it's wonderful. Great flavors with succulent shrimp. Best part? It's not over-salted like all other food that isn't homemade. Seeing as I've been traveling for the past few days, this is SO appreciated. If you're in a hurry, order ahead of time. These ingredients aren't sitting out and waiting to be thrown in a bowl like a Chipotle, so you'll have to wait a few minutes if you're a walk-in. But well worth it.

I had the Mediterranean wrap and it was delicious and healthy. Loved the ambiance of the City Market!

This place is fresh an amazing and very healthy for you ! I had the chicken jerk tacos and a spicy chicken taco and they were stuffed full ! Super filling and extremely tasteful

A fun day at a local winery and I had the opportunity to taste this deliciousness! I struggled with my order because I love it all. The options of a a bowl, wrap or a salad is spot on. I loved the Chicken Thai Rice Bowl. I look forward to future events!

The southwestern bowl with rice is such a healthy fresh option! I was so impressed with the quality of veggies and flavor this bowl brought! I did the chipotle aioli to go as my sauce and it paired nicely with an avocado and jalapeño additional add-on. I will be back to try to jerk chicken bowl next! Side note: the hungry hatch has moved to the river market they are inside on the same side as bloom bakery and Carollo's Italian! A very nice grab and go option for downtowners!

OMG! Just had the Thai bowl and it was bursting with flavor and super healthy. I can't wait to try more things also the peanut sauce was amazing!

While the food was good it was EXPENSIVE. 15 bucks for a chicken wrap and a can of diet coke. Oh and they decided to add a 3.95 tip on top of that. Won't be back don't recommend you do so either.

Just had my first bowl and The Hungry Hatch and I am hooked! I had a hard time choosing because they have so many enticing options but I settled on the Thai bowl. LOTS of healthy food and fresh ingredients, in a beautifully executed sauce that has a nice amount of heat and not too much salt. The chicken was moist and tasty, unlike the rubber tasteless variety you see in so many convenience restaurants these days. Can't wait to try the other great options and so glad we have this fabulous new option a couple of blocks from my home and office.

Tried here because of the positive reviews that were left. I honestly had a subpar experience. I got the southwest chicken wrap, but the chicken tasted like it had been pulled off from a rotisserie chicken at the store. A little too dry for my liking. The actual restaurant itself had little to no air conditioning. The only thing I can recommend is the pesto side salad. It was refreshing and delicious!

Portion size small. Taste was bland. Overpriced. Service was ok. Hours are short. Definitely not worth it!

I don't complain much about food, but I couldn't finish my meal. I had the Moroccan salad bowl and the chicken was dry, the seasoning wasn't spread over the bowl well, the tzatziki didn't have much flavor. I won't go again.

I have only had the shrimp tacos and they very good! Highly recommend them. Definitely going back to try the other offerings.

Found this little place upon arriving in Kansas City late Sunday afternoon. Was looking for a good plant based option restaurant. So glad we stumbled upon the hungry hatch. All the ingredients were fresh and the flavors were very good.

Did the food truck from Hungry Hatch. I try to support local whenever possible but it appears to be a one way street with this vendor. First the truck doesn't carry many of what the brick and mortar store has. We were told several times that this or that is NOT available on the truck. Second the bowls are about 2/3 the size of Chipotle and you can't get rice in the wraps. Third is that just two bowls with chicken for the meat and no extras added on cost over $25 with tax and that is no drinks, sides, etc. Way too high for a food truck and lunchtime for only two entrees. As I said, I support local whenever possible but I won't be back for the Hungry Hatch.

Exactly what you're wanting if you're looking for something healthy. Super delicious. The blue juice was just as amazing as the food.

El Poio, which used to be at that location, was one of our favorite restaurants. So, we delayed visiting Hungry Hatch for fear we would be disappointed. Wow! The food was great, and we are so sorry that we did not eat there sooner. Now, we cannot wait to go back. Thank you for a great meal.

Super super yummy food!! Always a delicious place to stop by for lunch or dinner! Really interesting concept for food, I'm a big fan of the bowls they have here. Really glad they have smoothie options now!!

The Hungry Hatch Truck very recently catered a private event hosted by my husband and I. The food was amazing, the service was fantastic and they delivered above and beyond on what we discussed in our contract to be provided as part of their services. They did a phenomenal job and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to hire a food truck for a party / large group. They have plenty of food options for any dietary need(s). Cant' say enough good things! Highly recommend!!! And the truck was very responsive and organized which was appreciated. 5 STARS/THUMBS UP!!!

I really loved the classic bowl that I got here! It was fast service and I loved the option of wrap, bowl, or salad. I loved that you were able to choose your sauce and the employees were very nice! I am very satisfied.

Food was so-so. Customer service was awful. Realized after I paid that the bill was much higher than it should have been. Asked the cashier about this and she said she loaded in her own tip. She never gave us the option to select a tip amount, but instead took it upon herself. Seems a bit like a scam. We will definitely never return.
