Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week | Eater LA

"For afternoon tea I enjoyed dressing up and lingering in a well-appointed dining room with excellent tea and Champagne: the tower of sweet and savory bites included classic finger sandwiches (cucumber; tarragon chicken salad; smoked salmon dill cream cheese with caviar), a deviled egg salad in a dainty phyllo cup, and a basket of scones—perfect for a sunny afternoon among the historic gardens, though reservations are tough to get." - Eater Staff

The very beautiful place! I love it very much. The good museum, the beautiful Chinese and Japanese gardens, the big rose garden and another botanical gardens. The good tea cafe. There's a tea restaurant but it was too expensive for me: near $60 per person. And unexpectedly nice souvenir store! Not cheap but all are very good and something even are elegant! I recommend to have enough time for this store when you visit this place. They changed an exposition and I like to visit it every time.

Honestly soooo much to see it can be over whelming. 2 things --> art galleries and gardens. If you are good on your feet/healthy and start early you can probably do it all. Im a plant lover but also had some family that are not able to be on their feet all day so we chose to do just the gardens. Even then we were not able to do each garden to completion and did not see all of them before family became tired. I will have to come back one day alone and make my way through it all. Highly recomend. LOVED the jungle and chinese gardens. P.S. EBT car holders is only $3 and can get up to 3 tickets at that price per a card!

The park was absolutely fantastic! The check in process was easy. We were able to get a wheelchair with no problem. It was not crowded. The weather was beautiful. The only complaint I have is that there is no place to fill up a water bottle along the trail and the café, only had one cashier and a huge line that lasted 25 minutes.

The Huntington Japanese Garden is a place where you can fully immerse yourself in the peace and beauty of nature. Manicured plants, charming bridges, and serene ponds create a truly special atmosphere. The Japanese Garden is just one of the many gems at The Huntington, which also includes the Chinese Garden, the Rose Garden, tropical greenhouses, and art galleries with unique exhibitions. The grounds are vast, and each corner has its own mood and charm, so it’s worth allowing plenty of time to explore. I recommend buying tickets in advance to plan your visit and enjoy it without rushing. Highly recommended!

An amazing place with lots to see. The most impressive gardens are further way from the entrance so be sure to save time and energy for these: the desert garden of succulents, the historic, vast and charming (and very authentic) Japanese garden, and the still quite new and huge Chinese gardens, which include a gallery, and a useful recharging spot in the form of an Asian cafe...

Incredible! I have never seen anything like this. Bonsai plants are beyond the wildest imagination. I couldn't believe they were real. What an heroic effort by the staff! Thank you so much!
