Stopped in for a drink on a Sunday evening. Friendly staff and fun atmosphere!

Good pub fair. Always a good (or random) chat with some new friend happens. Reasonably priced, strong but not killer drinks and a wide selection. Plus a lovely patio outside to enjoy the sunshine.

Decent dive bar. Well looked after pool table and the cues are in good shape. They actually have a proper dartboard (none of that digital nonsense 🤣) so you can play darts 🎯 but bring your own. Beer was good and the crowd were friendly. Cheers to the staff too we had a great crack.

I'll make this five stars if they change their website to reflect accurate happy hour prices. As it stands, I planned a meal that wound up being much more expensive than I expected because of the inaccuracies. Also the chicken wings were quite bad, but I can recommend the french fries.

A great Irish pub with friendly staff, Irish bar food, and a wide variety of drink options. They even had two sour beers on tap! They have a patio in the back where the parking lot used to be, and inside they have both regular bar seating and comfortable booths next to the pool table.

This is a cozy local pub with delicious homemade food and a great choice of beverages. In addition to that the staff is very kind and the prices are decent. This pub also invites to either socialize watching sports or playing pool with friends.

Overall I’d give my review 3.5 stars. The bartenders are nice and friendly. Drinks were good. The food was nothing special though. I had the corned beef sandwich and it was good, but nothing to write home about. The corned beef seemed a little dry and not fresh also. My wife had the chicken curry which the menu said it comes with vegetables but when it arrived it was only chicken curry with onions. We pointed it out in the menu that it said with vegetables but the man who delivered it to our table only answered with he’s not the chef. I asked him if he could ask the kitchen and they said they had no vegetables. Would’ve been nice to have a better resolution than “I’m not the chef”. Besides that we liked the pub and would return. But, don’t expect anything special with the food.

Not sure what went wrong, did a search for a specific NFL team's bar... This is very clearly a Bears' pub (not the team I searched for). But Lord love 'em, the staff and clientele were all very accommodating to us fans of the opposing team. *Edit once the food arrived: seriously decent grub, and service was above and beyond. Mackenzie (sp?) was very hospitable, even checking on previously tapped kegs to ensure we had some fresh Smithwick's.

Full Irish Breakfast / Irish bacon, sausage, two eggs, black and white pudding, grilled tomato, baked beans, breakfast potatoes, toast - 5! I traveled to Scotland in 2016 and ever since, a couple of times a year I seek out a full English/Scottish/Irish breakfast somewhere around LA. Turns out a lot of UK pubs serve them! My visit to The Irish Times was the first time I had an Irish breakfast. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know what the difference is. What is consistent with all of these meals is they are huge, filling and tasty and The Irish Times did not disappoint in any category. Black/white pudding is quite rare in Los Angeles. It was nice to see it as part of the one at Irish Times. While I'm not a super fan of the puddings, I do like it and ate these ones with gusto. The rest of the breakfast was fantastic. Irish bacon reminded me a lot of Canadian bacon. I think the US needs to reconsider baked beans with a hearty breakfast. The pub was tucked in a quiet corner of West LA. I was there on a day when street parking was easy to find. The Irish Times might have a parking lot but if they do, it couldn't be too large. I was there for a brunch meal so it wasn't busy at all. The bartender was the server and he was great. Super helpful and friendly. It is a pub so it was dark inside and had a pool table, full bar, and pub art. Lots of televisions for sports watching. I sat in a big booth. I'm sure this place is lively at night, on the weekends, and especially on St. Patrick's Day. They aren't just a pub. They have a full menu with lots of tasty looking pub food to choose from.

My favorite local pub, what's not to love? Happy hour everyday from 2-7pm where I take advantage of a tasty $7 Guinness on tap (which they pour correctly) as well as $2 off starters where I go with the Irish Sliders which are delicious. It is such a cozy spot in Palms with a variety of beer options on draft, great food, a pool table, and a fair amount of seating for a small pub. The service is also great... always love when James is there... he is a great guy. My local place and it's a hidden gem!

I was here for about 30 minutes for a drinky drink, but it was totally a fun experience at The Irish Times. I feel like my knowledge of West LA dive bars was vast, but apparently I still need to do some research because Irish Times was not on my list. I was actually pretty surprised when i found it. When I arrived, it was in full Karaoke mode and a wickedly fun (and drunk) crowd. People seemed to be enjoying the Friday and unwinding. The kitchen was closed, but I managed to get something fruity and awesome from the bartender. I had no clue what it was, but it was delicious. I want to come back and try karaoke! Now that I know of the existence of this bar, it is officially on my bucket list.

Nobody likes to go to Irish times because of the guy bartender there.... 100+ friends can attest... maybes he is apart of the fam there but geez always giving men a hard time there. Especially people of color so if you're of color stay away from this place. Maybe they only like people of THEIR color... coming from a Mexican American man whose family has been deeply rooted in the immediate area for over 70 years. What a distrusting man, with a back talking, distrusting attitude. I'll get it on camera and recorded one of these days for all to see here. Will add in the next coming months. Stay tuned folks! Us colored people work these kitchens and do the dirty work yet when this man sees someone out of his "stature" he is deliberate in being rude to you and short. So. Again. Curly wavy, black hair'd, very short man. Totally understandable. Seeing that I am a 6'3 tall Mexican-American man. Such a disappointment to the neighborhood. Will continue to flock people to backstage, the garage, and tinys where all are welcomed. Keep bossing me around sir, I'll continue to listen since it's your business - just know nobody of color is welcomed there since it's happened over 10 times now which is why I'm deliberately writing this. Today, June 6th 2024, is National Fish And Chips Day. Don't like fish so went to the Irish Times Pub in Palms and had Chicken And Chips for lunch. For some reason it came with Tartar Sauce, like in Australia. There wasn't any malt vinegar on the table, only salt and pepper. On the other hand, there was a lot of chicken and it was very good. Got there before noon. Sat at a table. By the time I left around 12:30pm there were many people at the bar. Service at the table was a little slow. Got bored waiting for the check so went to the bar and got the check. It was hard to see in the low light. Food was terrible! "Grilled" cheese was merely toasted bread with half melted cheese and cold tomato on it. And the Caesar was very very bland. Beside that, the Bartenders were relatively friendly and the place has a nice ambiance for a pub/restaurant. So just go somewhere else for food and it's a good time :)

Came in last Friday (3 days ago) for a drink and to see what the scene was like. Posted up at the end of the bar. Medium-sized room with a L-shaped bar extending from just inside the front door to the end of the venue. Bartop/stool seating just adjacent the length of the bar and tables next to that. Small stage area for karaoke (a regular Friday-night event apparently!) Chris the bartender was good at his job. Made us feel welcome, gave us drink options, and despite being fairly busy still managed to squeeze in brief conversation about the other goings-on outside of karaoke. Great crowd, lots of friendly folks smiling and having a good time. Razor (the karaoke host) made it super easy to sign up for a song I'm sure I butchered. Good whiskey and tequila selection, beer options looked pretty epic. Parking can be a little tenuous but its worth it! I'll be back!

I went to The Irish Times Pub & Restaurant last night. My party and I went for trivia night. It was fun. There were great vibes all around. I love the decor inside. We shared a plate of Irish Nachos (the chips were replaced with fries). At first, the kitchen mistakenly gave us a plate of Irish Nachos with bacon (we had requested no bacon). The order was later corrected. The food was good. I had two Dingle Berry drinks, which I enjoyed.

PROS -Good food overall -Outdoor patio in back with fans and a tv -Small but good selection of beers on tap -Easy parking, some parking spots in the back, or on Motor Ave north of National -Clean bathrooms CONS -No table service, order at the bar. When not busy, service is good -Food is pricey for a dive bar but have $2 off Happy Hour appetizers -Bands on weekends, Trivia night, karaoke on Wednesday FOOD I recommend the chicken pot pie and corned beef sandwich Didn't like the ranch dressing. Has dill and has a strong buttermilk flavor. No on the onions rings. Batter was too thick , not crunchy and lacked seasoning I like to come here for St. Patrick's Day. Note it's also a Chicago Bears bar.

Review is for food (takeout) only. Order (June 2023): * Steak and ale pie (9/10) * Buffalo chicken wrap with fries (8/10) Food: Steak and ale pie is delicious. My brother LOVED it and text me a 5 days later "I'm craving that Irish pub steak and ale pie again." It comes in 3 containers: large helping of stew; large helping of mashed potatoes; crispy baked phyllo dough pastry puff. The stew has great flavor and perfect consistency. The beef is melt in your mouth tender and I like the chunks of soft, but not mushy, carrots and veggies. Perfect with a bite of potatoes. 9/10 Buffalo chicken wrap was surprisingly good also. Basic but good. It comes with natutal/real potato fries (could be a tad crispier). Personally I love that the chicken in wrap are small bits of chicken all coated in buffalo sauce vs just 1-2 large strips of chicken - I think it gives it more flavor though some might say the format means you get less meat. The ranch they use tastes homemade which I appreciate but I can taste the dill (which I don't love) and would prefer a more basic ranch dressing - but that's 100% personal preference. Next time I think I would get no ranch and would use my own at home. I also asked for extra Buffalo sauce on the side. Would return and would reorder both items (though would also try other dishes). Notes: Order with the bartender; took about 25min to prepare; total ~$45 before tip.

Suuuuuuuuper slow service, but we like their bangers and mash and shepherds pie when we do t feel like making our own. Drinks are strong. But again, even though we sit at the bar, directly looking at the bartenders, they are soooo slow and on their phones a lot. But once they pay attention they're friendly. We usually have to wait 10 minutes before a bartender will get off their phone and acknowledge us. Come on guys...

Irish Times Pub is a chill place to grab some beers (they have a decent selection of brews from the UK), perhaps some Irish bites, and have a good time either watching the game, playing pool ($1, there's one table) or getting on the karaoke stage (started around 7pm or so on Friday). They also have a pretty good happy hour. The bartenders were solid and fun to chat with. Its a good neighborhood bar in the area.

This local Irish bar is kinda hidden in Palms along Motor ave. They have a cozy interior with bar seating, booths, and a pool table. There's also a big outdoor patio behind the bar with tables and chairs and it's much more quiet than inside. There's a full menu of bar food and standard drinks, all reasonably priced for a west side dive bar. There's trivia twice a week too but it gets pretty crowded so come early to get a table!

First time patron, went specifically for the Meat and Ale pie and a beer. I'm not a bar going person, but I liked the food. The " pies " were flavorful with very tender meat. The puff pastry on top kinda threw me, not expecting that but it was hot and flaky. We both ordered same meat pie, but I got the fries, which were crisp on the outside and soft inside. The mashed potatoes were lacking peas but my friend liked them and said they tasted good. The bar tender served us after ordering from the bar. I got the Mulberry Ale IPA which was aromatic and tangy.

The food menu alone at The Irish Times is worth the five star review. Shepherds Pie AND Pizza? Come on! Where else can you get BOTH of those things on the Westside?

A true Irish pub - you'll feel like you're back home. The bartenders pour a proper pint of Guinness. Live music on weekends, some trad, some not.

As Irish Pubby as you're going to get! It was at least half filled with British expats on a Sunday afternoon, which tells you a lot. It was even said that it even Smells like a true pub as if in the UK. Plenty of beers on draft, some local or American, and some British or European. Also plenty of cocktails to choose from beyond their whisky and scotch. Everyone seemed very nice and friendly and there seemed to be plenty of regulars as many were going back and forth with the bartender by name and even if they were going to her bday shindig the next day! The food was pretty good in flavor. Ordered the Bangers and Mash and the Chicken Pot Pie ... But I was a bit disappointed with the Chicken Pot Pie since it was a little lacking and more "hacking" in the way they simply put a layer of crust on top of a mini cast iron skillet (no dough all the way around) and the soup was a bit watery. The Bangers and Mash were really good al though and I'll have to try the fish and chips next time!

Best fish and chips I've ever eaten. Big tasty slabs of cod perfectly battered and fried to perfection.

I begrudgingly came with UCLA friends for trivia night (I was afraid that I'd be deadweight), but it turned out to be a great old time (even though it lasted like three hours). The crowd was fun and rowdy, the host was a cool guy, and we were amazed at how good at trivia some of these regulars were. The food was your standard bar fare--burgers, wings, fries, nachos, etc. Not show-stoppingly amazing, but scratched the itch for comfort food. Appetizers were also discounted on trivia night (I want to say 50%?) and were very sharable.

IT is our local. Great food, wonderful staff, one amazing shitty pool table, (nice, new pool cues). Rising pop stars bartending, great patio out back, reasonably priced drinks. Sorry it only took me 30 years to discover this place...

We went here on St Patricks Day and what a lovely experience. we were able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful day visiting with some nice people. the food was great as were the drinks. This is definitely a place we would revisit again.

A friend of mine brought me here. Right after I just wanna Cortez. It was time to celebrate. We started off with a couple martinis and then I got hungry. I was looking for a big burger and he said it's definitely plenty. He being the bartender. I ended up with three martinis and three black and tans. Everything was great. Including the atmosphere and the bartender was awesome. I highly recommend it. It's nice being in my neighborhood and I'll be back for sure.

Upmost Schenanigans if you're up for anything less, you should see elsewhere. Good food, great drinks, and late night pizza... what else could you want?

Standard local Irish pub - I got their Irish breakfast, a Guinness, and was happy reading a book in one of their booths. It wasn't too busy at all on a Saturday afternoon, they have sports playing on the TV, and a pool table in the middle. The service was outstanding (but she did mistakingly charge me for 2 Guinness's so be careful about your bill) Also don't park at the parking lot next door!! My waitress says they will tow - there's plenty of metered and street parking around

I went there for a trivia night on a Thursday. It starts at 9pm but make sure to get there about an hour early to secure a table because it gets very busy. Host was super fun and entertaining. Great environment. They had 4.95 onion rings and tater tots. Pretty disappointed with the onion rings. Batter was way too thick. I had to get rid of most of the batter. But I can't complain about the price. Maybe I'll try the tots next time.

I was hoping for an Irish pub but unfortunately this was just a dingy bar. The staff was uptight but most of all, the drinks were weak. Bummed.

I generally order from Grub Hub but every time our order is great. Both the Grilled chicken sandwich and buttermilk crispy sandwiches are great. Love their fries as well - they are darker which means more flavorful, crisp outside and soft inside.! This is often my go-to restaurant because I have a very picky husband and he does like Irish Times food.

Women bartender with brown hair and bad teeth had terrible customer service skills. Made two regulars feel like they weren't allowed in the bar. I would definitely go for the atmosphere but if you see her give her the bird for me.

The Caesar salad is my favorite Caesar salad in LA. All the bartenders are super nice, they also have karaoke which is always fun! My favorite bar!

I love the Irish Times the food is amazing, especially their burgers. The staff is always very friendly and it's super convenient because I work nearby in the area.

If you love Shepard pie!!! This is the place to go! I ordered the lamb pie and boy was I salivating with every bite. My man is more familiar with this dish (YT) and he gave it a big thumbs up said it was amazing. For context I had it at the restaurant and took him a to go pie soooo.... He had the reheated version and still loved it!! The vibes are chill very IG friendly decore but also great place to just have drinks. 10/10 the tomato soup was also yummy!

Great small Irish neighborhood pub! I would like to say I'm a connoisseur in fish and chips and this place does it right! It was quite busy when I was there during football season. So anticipate waits at the bar to get your order in. Once it's in, service moves quickly. Beer selection is quite good as well. The space is pretty dingy and dark as you would imagine any Irish pub. Great atmosphere and would definitely stop by again for some good food and drinks!

Great place to have a drink. Good food and friendly service. Bartender was really nice and really took care of us. Onions rings were very fresh and piping hot. Easily on my top three onion rings. Totally would return.

If you are looking for an Authentic Irish Pub, this is your place! A very welcoming Quaint neighborhood Pub and Restaurant A perfect Guinness Pour, good Irish Coffee. Lots of beer on tap- a full kitchen, great service! Lots of nice and welcoming locals. We came in as visitors, left making new friends. Looking forward to our next visit! They have menu specials , music and Craic planned for Paddy's Day celebrations! @The Irish Pub Scouts loved it!!!

Come here all the time. Food is really good. Burgers, pizzas, traditional pub food -- all great. And good pub beer and whiskey selection too.

I just love neighborhood pubs. The Irish Times doesn't disappoint. It is a really great and warm vibe when you first walk in the door as if you were a regular even though it was my first time. First a well lit pub with nice decor, warm friendly, red vinyl booths and bar stools, plenty of TV screen views for your favorite sporting event, a pool table, Scheduled weekly events like karaoke, live music, many craft beers on tap. I came to meet a couple of girl friends for a drink so we did not eat food this night but maybe the next visit. I did order a gin martini and it hit the spot! Parking was easy on the street and free in the evenings.

morning "manager" was trash. couldn't order two beers but never had a problem at other bars when I've order two beees for myself. love the en of the people n other barten but him. fuck him. - R

Irish Times is the neighborhood pub that you didn't know you need. I used to live around the block and they have since updated and classed the place up!! It's not fancy (totally approachable, homey and cozy), but glad they ripped out the smelly carpet, and added nicer booths, etc. Luckily, they kept its heart and soul!! I returned on a Friday night for karaoke. Was able to put my song in and sing within 15 minutes (record time) as the bar was not empty. Surprisingly, the bartender sung (and was not bad). He then proceeded to blow FIRE; had I known that was coming I would have captured that on video for yall but alas you will have to come out to witness it yourself. He was a great hype man. Crowd was a mixture of young, middle aged, and old; exactly as it should be!! Karaoke DJ seemed to be swift and getting to a lot of people (which I liked). It was a good night, and we promised we'd come back next week. Food and drinks were available. My partner got the tater tot nachos which are nachos covered in cheese and other typical toppings. He said it was good.

Provender: awesome joint with a divey feel. Great selection of beer and liquor. They serve Allagash White, which is a must try in my book. They also serve food, so you can chow down on some fish and chips or wings. Prices: reasonable, beers are around $5-6. Parking: there are metered spots on Motor that's free after 8pm. They also have a small lot behind the building. People: older folks in the late afternoon, then a younger crowd at night. You'll definitely find some hipsters here. Perks: they have all sorts of events depending on the night, and a pool table. They play live music on Fridays also. Happy hour (on food and drinks) 4 to 7pm, Monday through Friday. They have plenty of barstools and booths. The service here though is really outstanding. A wrong order was brought out and Tarick(?) quickly made things right. You can't beat that kind of service.

A bar where you get exactly what you expect: multiple options for draft beers, accompanying fried food, and plenty of football on a Monday night. This spot is a bears bar and it also has a pool table. They do weekday happy hour but it's only on food. No complaints, would stop by again.

Food here is incredible and it's all Irish cuisine, so that's saying something. Excellent dive, great beer selection, fantastic service and ambiance. Couldn't recommend more!

Who goes to an Irish pub to order a salad? We do, and we did, as my partner and I decided to get the "Irish Cobb" in an addition to a more expected and typically UK style shepherds pie. The salad was amazingly fresh and came in a huge bowl! The boiled egg was still a little warm and the bacon was thick cut and smoky. What made it "Irish": peas! The fact that this pub had such a good salad really tells me that they don't just clue creating a cool casual neighborhood bar experience (with a pool table) but that they also care about making good food. We used a Groupon which made it a great deal on top of the already reasonable prices. Portions are big and hearty. The shepherds pie was perfect and came with guess what? A side salad. Order at the bar then grab a seat anywhere including the booths. They don't do table service but the bar staff is very friendly.
