"In addition to serving good food, Jim and Neesie in the Generator Hostel makes great cocktails. This Mid-Beach spot is home to some of the best margaritas in the city, which go very well with their oysters with cucumber mint mignonette and the excellent crispy octopus too. It’s also pretty laid-back here, and feels more like a dim living room in case you’d like to actually hear the person you’re eating with." - Ryan Pfeffer

Loved it! Worth seeking out. I read about their clarified Margarita. It absolutely as good as the reviews. What I didn’t expect to find was a place that deserves a marque. The bartender recommended the Asparagus, and I’m SO glad he did. There is tremendous effort put into the cocktail program, and the menu. The service is polished, and the space is comfortable. The flavours pop, and you will definitely be glad you made the effort to stop by. You won’t forget it.

The “Jim and Nessie” is a restaurant located on the first floor of the “Generator Miami” hostel in Miami Beach. The staff is super friendly, and there’s a variety of great foods to try (I ate there quite a few times). They are closed during the middle of the day but the hostel has a bar in the back of the hostel called “The Driftway” that serves food, happy hour drinks, and great vibes. Shoutout to Jeremy, Amber (cool NASA jacket), Lott and Barbara. Also, Giordano (spelling) who speaks Italian, Spanish, AND English we’re all pleasures to meet. PS: you don’t have to check into the Generator to visit The Driftway (which doesn’t have a Google page yet) or Jim and Nessie. Just walk right on in!

There's so much to love about this place, it is officially my new favorite spot on the beach & has a Miami Spice menu! Located inside the new art deco inspired Generator Hotel (a great place to stay!) you will be wowed from the moment you walk in the door with the beautiful hanging lights, ambiance and overall decor of this place, perfect for a date or a meal with friends. Falling in love with each dish here at The Jim & Neesie was easy, they are all so delicious! Our culinary adventure started with the creamy Burrata (I LOVE BURRATA) and the Broccoli Romanesco which is a cousin of regular boring broccoli. As someone who doesn't like vegetables, I was shocked how good this tasted. We quickly moved onto the main course trying the house made creamy Cacio E Pepe pasta and our all time favorite, crispy airline chicken. I normally never order chicken when eating out but this is not your ordinary chicken! Be sure to eat it with all the sauce and ingredients for the full experience. Parking can be a bit difficult but is well worth it, you will not be disappointed with this visit.

We went here based on written reviews we saw online. Food was prepared perfect. Menu was varied and tasty. Enjoyed the salmon and pasta dish. Starters we're perfect also. Unique use of ingredients and flavors that made it one of our favorite meals in Miami. Cocktails are reasonable and delicious. It has a good vibe with funky ambiance. Priced just right.

Based on the quality and hospitality of Jim & Nessie's you would never expect this to be a hotel restaurant. This restaurant is located inside the Generator Hostel/Hotel. No on site parking or valet, but there is apparently street parking nearby. I don't have a car, so cannot say for sure. As long as they keep the same great chef, this restaurant is well worth a visit. If I lived in Miami, I'd certainly dine there more than once and explore the menu. This restaurant is not designed to only serve hotel guests. It is a dining destination all by itself. The restaurant is intimate and dark. Very comfortable, the upholstered bench against the walls is furnished with pillows for relaxed dining. The bartender will frequently come out from behind the bar to visit tables, take drink orders and deliver cocktails. I ate there a number of times during my stay. I enjoyed the crispy skin salmon and the airline chicken. The desserts were unique. I really enjoyed like desert that combined strawberry ice cream with a berry sorbet, with a fruit sauce and fresh strawberries. The desserts change daily based on the mood of the chef. A dinner with cocktail or wine plus dessert will run about $60 inclusive of tax and tip, which is automatically included in the bill.

We went two nights in a row! That has never happened. Great price for top tier vegetable dishes. We were so impressed with presentation and texture and flavour after eating the asparagus that we just kept ordering vegetables (something we also never do). Great service. Didn't get to follow through on the Olivier's recommendation for breakfast. Sorry about that.

The food was amazing and the service was great. This really is a hidden gem on the beach. We had the hamachi, grilled octopus, and airline chicken and it was all fantastic. This place is located in the lobby of a hostel called the Generator which has a great atmospheres.
