"Mika, a massive bar in Bushwick right near the Morgan Avenue L stop, puts on fairly regular events. This Thursday, April 8th, they’re hosting an outdoor stand-up comedy show in collaboration with Brooklyn Underground Comedy (check out details and buy $10 tickets here). Then, on Saturday, April 10th, you can also fraternize with a horde of adoptable puppies outside in their backyard from 11:30am-3pm. Note that you’ll need a proof of vaccine or negative COVID test for admission. They’re also livestreaming the event in case you’d rather not attend in person. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

"—an art and clothing recycling project based in Brooklyn—is holding their next pop up at Mika this Sunday. You can pick through Bushwick’s best fashion before Beacon’s tears through it, and there will also be tattoos, natural dye workshops, live music, and bagels made with wild fermented vegetable yeast by Bagel Bunny. "Mika is a beer bar with a space in Bushwick that could easily handle a wedding in the before times. It’s massive. Their outdoor area has a few spaced-out tables, as well as two plastic tents where you can use wifi to get work done or have drinks. You’ll have to go through Mika’s indoor area to get to the backyard, and they will check your temperature and ask for contact info for tracing purposes." - hannah albertine, nikko duren
"Unless you’re there to plan a heist, going to an art gallery can be a real snooze-fest (even when the art itself is cool). Pancakes and Booze is a touring, pop-up art-and-live-music show that feels more like a fun house and less like a place where your eyes will glaze over talking to someone who won’t stop using the word “juxtaposition.” From 8pm to 2am, you can enjoy work from 150+ artists, live music, body painting, plenty of beer, and free all-you-can-eat pancakes. The only downside is that pancakes are harder to sneak out in your purse than cheese cubes are. Get your tickets to the event here. " - neha talreja
