What a treat!! It is a bit off the beaten path in Grassmere in that one needs to walk a few hundred feet down a largely residential street to find it -- after seeing one small sign pointing that direction, it is well worth it. And it would not take an hour to walk every road in Grassmere, during which wanderings one would certainly notice the tiny sign by the door. We did not have a booking, but receptionist told us at 6 that she could seat us but would need the table back by 8. Nice table settings in a pleasant upstairs room. Very pleasant service throughout. Detailed cocktails list includes "malt whiskeys," so I had to ask -- but was very pleased that they had Glen Morangie. We shared some artichoke hearts to start -- they were large and succulent. Paid 3 pounds for bread, which was well worth it. My wife ordered "Thriller from Manila," a noodle-based dish with chicken, broccoli and other veggies -- nicely done although she said it was pretty spicy. I had a chicken Tiboku (probably have that name wrong) that was wonderful, served on a bed of rice. Chicken breast was served whole but had been pre-sliced, which made it easy to eat. Portions seemed huge to us--we did not finish -- but we had to try a dessert. We chose a mousse that sounded lighter than other items but that was actually huge and elegant. We did finish that. Seating was mostly along a banquette along the wall, close to others. I do not generally like that and try to ignore other diners, but we wound up chatting with folks on both sides. With one couple we just chatted about the food and dessert. The foursome on the other side were here for a car show. The father is showing a Bristol, something new to me -- but really prefers the 10 Bentleys and Rolls Royces that he has at home (we pried this out of him -- he was not bragging). Son-in-law is showing another car that I did not recognize but drives a Tesla to work but is thinking about getting an electric BMW for that purpose. They were fund and interesting -- and we will definitely get to the car show.
