The Kennedy - Review - Montrose - Houston - The Infatuation

"Montrose’s newest piano bar, The Kennedy, is a two-storied building dedicated to martinis and live music. You can eat caviar-topped mozzarella sticks while sitting by the fireplace, or have one of their 10 signature martinis while being serenaded by a baby grand piano. Be prepared to bust out your “sunset attire” if you come after 6pm. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Gianni Greene

The Kennedy offers a fantastic ambiance with a beautifully designed space that feels upscale, stylish, and perfect for a night out. The service was genuinely excellent, attentive, warm, and professional…easily one of the highlights of the evening. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite match the expectations set by the atmosphere and service. Several dishes, including the sea bass, surf and turf, short ribs, and lobster pasta, were all noticeably lacking in flavor. While everything was plated nicely, the seasoning and depth of taste just weren’t there, making the overall meal feel underwhelming. Another surprising detail was the unusual “card acceptance fee” charged per guest, even though only one card was used for the table?? We had four guests, and were charged for 5. It wasn’t a major amount, but it did feel a bit unethical do not disclose or mention that prior to and uncouth for a restaurant of this style. Overall, The Kennedy has a beautiful ambiance and service, but the flavor and execution of the dishes left something to be desired. With adjustments in the kitchen and full transparency with their charges, it has the potential to be a better experience.

The Kennedy really is a nice place to have dinner. We dined on a Thursday night and there were not many people. We did have reservations however there was more than enough space for more customers. The Kennedy is valet parking only for the dinner hour but parking attendant stated that during the lunch hour some days it’s self parking. When calling there is a $5 charge for valet before 3 and after 3 that charge is $10. The parking lot is very small. Major turn off is valet is right in front of the door so you’re paying to valet and walk right up to the entrance. If you can find street parking and don’t mind the walk that’s an option as well. They do have a dress code here so if you’re walking your dog and decide to dine, this is not the place for you. It’s nicely decorated and put together, great ambiance and it was not too loud this night. Was able to have conversations without screaming across the table and the pianist most definitely kept us entertained while dining. He was very personable, came and introduced himself. Took requests and has an amazing voice. The restrooms were nice and clean. I liked that the stalls were individually roomed and the black toilets were a good addition to the uniqueness of the decor. On to the food and drinks. I ordered the Cucumber Hibiscus Smash. It was delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed how refreshing and crisp this drink was. It was made just right. For my entree, after seeing the bisque, I chose the Kennedy Caesar Salad with Shrimp added. I also chose to add a side of the Jalapeño Blue Cheese dressing as I wanted to try it. This choice was most definitely the best for me. I’d come here again just for this salad. I also was eyeing the lobster bisque as my entree however a few people ordered and it didn’t give me bisque vibes. It was more on the broth side with no cream in sight. That’s not bisque to me, however there are some that may see this differently. Others in my dinner party made note that the mashed potatoes were on the sweet side so I was glad that I didn’t go with that. Also important to note, don’t come expecting normal size portions. This is more on the tapas side of dining and the portions versus price would leave most wondering why they are still hungry after spending about a hundred bucks on dinner. Choose wisely. I opted out of dessert as I was full from the salad I inhaled. Yes that salad was filling. Others opted out of dessert due to price. Our waitress Jackie was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Gave great advice on dishes to order and suggestions of changes that could be done. It’s important to note, that there is a card acceptance fee charge for each guest(even if all on one check), auto gratuity(normal for our size party), they can only split the check per party three times, and they are a 21 and up restaurant. We opted to have one check. It was just easier for a part of 8. All in all, we had a great dining experience as we should for the amount of money spent.

The food here is genuinely very good, and given the price, I was expecting nothing less. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the flavors and presentation were excellent. My only comment on the food itself is that the burger, while tasty, was drenched in oil. Still, overall, the food was the strongest part of the experience. Where things fell short was the service and overall professionalism. As someone who has worked in high-end restaurants in multiple roles, I was disappointed with the level of service during our visit. I went on a Sunday morning for a special anniversary meal. While the food was enjoyable, our server looked and acted like they had just woken up. Their demeanor and attire felt more like a franchise restaurant such as Applebee’s or Chili’s—totally acceptable if that were the experience I was looking for. But for the price point and the occasion, I expected the service to match the elevated atmosphere and menu. Beyond appearance and attitude, the actual service was poor: • Inconsistent attention: The server frequently disappeared for long stretches, didn’t refill drinks, and overall seemed disengaged. • Food not served together: My wifes and my meal came out at different times, leaving one plate sitting long enough to cool. In every restaurant I’ve worked at, food for a table is run together—especially for a party of two—so no one is left waiting or eating a cold dish. This is basic service execution in any sit-down establishment. • Payment interaction: The server held the POS device in front of me and looked over my shoulder as I chose the tip amount. In higher-end dining, the device is handed to the guest for privacy. Holding it like a coffee shop tablet felt awkward and out of place. • Valet professionalism: When we approached to hand over our ticket (we were the only guests there), the attendant was on a personal phone call that clearly wasn’t urgent. In every customer-facing job I’ve had, personal calls in front of guests are not allowed—let alone while a guest is waiting for assistance. To give credit where it’s due, the busser did a good job, and the hostess was the only staff member whose attitude and attire matched the standard of a high-end restaurant. But overall, the service did not align with the pricing or ambiance. For the same price, I could have gone to Yiayia’s, Casa do Brasil, or other high-end places nearby where the food and the service consistently justify the cost. If I wanted a franchise-level experience, I would have gone to a franchise and paid those prices—especially for an anniversary. Overall, excellent food and a beautiful place, but the service left me expecting much more.

The Kennedy is hands down one of my favorite spots in Houston—especially for cocktails and a fun pre-game dinner before heading out with friends. The vibe is always on point, and the music is a huge highlight, especially when they bring in special guest DJs. The food is consistently great. My absolute favorites are the lobster pasta and the mozzarella sticks with caviar—so indulgent and insanely delicious. If you’re looking for a place with amazing drinks, great music, and elevated food in Houston, I highly recommend checking this spot out. You won’t be disappointed.

Google
Absolutely amazing dining experience and the drinks and music are great! Took my girlfriend on a date there and now it’s our regular go-to spot in Houston. The Lobster Twist, mozzarella stick and steak are great!

Google
Overall great experience . Know that the serving sizes are small . Drinks were good ! I also had two mocktails that were extremely refreshing . Highly recommend the truffle fries and mashed potatoes! Know that the menu is pretty small and set ! There are very small variations you can make to the menu . Keep in mind there’s a two hour table max .

I think this place is a bit underrated. One of the unique restaurants with their own vibes, ambiance, and decorations. Entering The Kennedy made me feel like entering the small museum. The food was amazing. Unfortunately, 2 of my dishe were a bit overcooked, too crispy 🥹 However, the flavors were wonderful, flavorful, and tasty! The service was great, but I still expect more. Their cocktail lists look all amazing. I got myself a Guavatini - super unique but tastes so good.

Google
The food was really good. I went for brunch, had the prime steak & eggs, Pancakes & Berries and crab cakes eggs Benedict (not pictured). Everything tasted really good. The service was great and the day we went it wasn’t crowded. Parking is valet for $5 before 3pm & $10 after 3pm. I went on my birthday and they gave us a complimentary cheesecake. I plan to come back to try dinner.

Yelp
Kennedy is a very cute restaurant. Decor is great and of course having a piano is my weakness so I was completely in awe. Food was amazing my friend had their cheese stick and we both had their petite filet which was made well. The only reason I give them a four star because on of their servers who was helping the wonderful young lady name Michelle who was FANTASTIC btw. But this server that was helping her bring the food out was a bit rude. When I asked him for something right after my friend requested something he put his hand in my face to tell me to wait which was very rude being our first time there. He even saw me give a look in surprise because at nice places patience is key. Especially in the service industry. Mind it I waited for my Friend to finish with her request before I proceeded with mine. Maybe he aaa having a bad day but it definitely put a bad taste in our mouths to the kind of staff that is hired to run this establishment. Did not get his name but hopefully this is corrected. Aside from that experience was great. Also loved how the valet escorted my friend and I under an umbrella one by one so we didn't get wet by the rain that evening.

Yelp
Met with friends for a little bit. In that short time I found: Parking is available with valet for $10 or on the streets (good luck). The entry is very minimalist yet classy looking, looking in the lights are dim and intimate. The music for this night was EDM, DJ Emilio kept the party going and I enjoyed every bit and in addition to the music, they had a portrait of my man, James Dean, it's then I knew I might have found another favorite cocktail bar. (Will need to return to fully determine that) I opted for the Aviation, a gin based cocktail. It was strong with a bite. Not necesssarily anything special about it as I've had at different places in the past. But they do have a vast variety to choose from but I wasn't trying to drink much as I had to drive. I did see they had a full martini menu and I will need to return to try them. The Kennedy is a mix of class, elegance and modern in a bar/restaurant environment. Dress code is enforced, so please don't show up in your shorts and flip flops.

Yelp
To sum up, our brunch experience was a masterpiece... of disappointment. Let's start with the highlight: the cocktails. The dalgona espresso martini was a solid 10/10. Honestly, I'm convinced the bartender is the only one here who knows what they're doing. Now for the real show. Our food arrived colder than my ex's heart. My $20 burger was practically an ice sculpture -- completely inedible. I sent it back, and the replacement was, thankfully, lukewarm enough to pass for food. Progress, I guess. And then came the pièce de résistance: the "to-go" experience. My friend wanted to pack up her steak and eggs, and for a place charging $50-80 a head, you'd think they'd have, oh, I don't know, a box. But no. They proudly presented her meal wrapped in Saran Wrap. Steak and eggs, shrink-wrapped like leftovers from a sketchy family potluck. So, if you're looking for great cocktails, this is your spot. Just eat before you come. And bring your own Tupperware.

Yelp
Came with my girls for a Galentine's dinner last week and we had a good time! It's def giving dress cute for nice date night vibes. Their menu had plenty of drink and food options. I got a spicy cucumber margarita (not pictured) that really hit the spot and had a spicy kick with each sip. I originally ordered the short ribs but they ran out so opted for the wagyu burger & fries which did not disappoint! The burger melted in my mouth and was so flavorful. I guess the trick to get the short ribs is to get there earlier and likely on a less busy day. The food took awhile to come out but our waiter was so apologetic and gracious. A con of this place is that it's valet only ($10 fee) and the valet/car pick up area is super tight and congested. So be prepared

Yelp
Been here on 2 separate occasions and enjoyed both times. I wish there would have been live music when I visited though. The ambiance is stunning. Parking is valet only ($10). I have enjoyed their lamb chops, lobster bisque accompanied by a mini-sandwich, mozzarella sticks the most. Their steaks are more mediocre. I felt the dishes came out too quickly both times and were not timed appropriately. There are several misspellings on the menu. Martinis are on point here! The service was friendly and competent.

Yelp
Dined in on a Saturday at 7 PM for a party of two. We were seated in the back corner by the restroom at a tiny table that felt more like bar seating. The ac vent was strong, so we asked if we could move to another table. We were moved to another table by the window after we finished our appetizers. The ac vent was even stronger! Thank goodness a server was able to turn it off for a bit. We had three different servers come by, each asking if we wanted a cocktail on repeat multiple times. Not sure if this is their cocktail tactic. The appetizers came out extremely fast but we waited a lifetime for our main entrees. All of the food was delicious and portions are small. Service was definitely all over the place. We ordered: Lobster bisque: creamy umami goodness! The prosciutto and provolone truffle butter grilled cheese that came with the bisque was the love of my life! The Kennedy mozzarella stick: presentation was nice, but I would pass on this next time. I need a good marinara sauce with this. Lobster spaghetti twist: this was so good! I was sad when I had my last bite. I didn't want it to end. I could eat two servings. The prime Wagyu ribeye: a little over cooked, we asked for medium rare and got medium. Flavors are a tad bland and it was paired with two micro potatoes cut in half and itty bitty slithers of carrots. The Kennedy ice cream sundae: YUM, simple but delicious flavors.

Yelp
This is a nice hip spot.... The vibe is like you're in your rich sophisticated gay uncle's multilevel condo at a house party where you're among the chosen guest....The decor is nice and post modernist with an upscale ambiance. The cocktail line up does not disappoint and the food is excelled by the service... Felix was our server and did a great job and bonus he is bilingual since not all our guests are native English speakers no one missed a stride.... I had the avocado toast which hit the spot but that blue berry mint gin and tonic will be recreated at home with friends.... I'm not sure this place has been discovered yet but go check it out... my only complaint is they they did not spilt the check when the entire table were couples so it should have been done easily.... Note to management that can be easily corrected and your server makes out better by getting multiple tips.

Yelp
This restaurant and bar in the River Oaks area is truly stunning. I appreciate that they offer valet parking, which is a nice perk. When you walk in, you're greeted by a piano and a gorgeous bar adorned with a beautiful chandelier. Since it's a Saturday, there was also a DJ, adding a fun vibe to the atmosphere. The space includes a variety of seating options--tables, booths, a cocktail lounge, and a patio--all beautifully designed. The servers are attentive, and though the menu is on the smaller side, it offers some great choices. The decor throughout the restaurant is elegant, adding to the ambiance. My only concern was the wait time for drinks and appetizers, which took around 30 minutes each time we ordered. I'm not sure if it's just a new-restaurant issue or if service is generally slow, but I hope this improves. Overall, this place has great potential if they can reduce the wait times for food and drinks.

Zohreh M.

Yelp
Service 10/10 Ambiance 10/10 Food 6/10 Drinks 8/10 Vibe and music 10/10 In general, if you're looking for a place with a high quality of food and options, don't recommend this place! But if you're going to have fun and Chet chat with your family or friends and have some drinks and appetizers, highly recommend :)

Yelp
The restaurant is cute and my drink was really good. Honestly my chilaquiles were decent but I wouldn't order it again. Please be noted that you have to valet and there is a 35% gratuity charge. When we asked the waitress she stated that it is noted on the website of the charge and I looked everywhere and could not find it. In addition they also do a 3% credit card fee on your bill. I will not returning back to this restaurant to many hidden fees.

Yelp
Highly overpriced and mediocre service. Went in during happy hour. Not many people present. Took bartender 8 minutes to say hello when we were sitting at the bar. She didn't know what was on happy hour menu.

Yelp
I'm a financial and ops analyst for a restaurant group. I saw reviews and wanted to understand more about the service issue here, as it is beautiful and has a lot of potential. Main issue: they run with one service bartender in the back. It took 25 minutes between rounds, the odd thing is that they had 4 bartenders on in the front, yet only made drinks for the bar. Sincere Recommendation: to save on labor and communication with servers and their tables: move service bartender to main bar. Run with 3. Have one main service bartender and the other two can help with the drink orders pumping out from the tables. It made zero sense to me with having the bartender so far removed. Anyhow, it was a lovely joint and the food was good! Just really need to focus on the timing on drinks, it put a terrible taste in all 6 of our mouths.

Yelp
Tried The Kennedy out for my birthday celebration. Atmosphere was great, loved the chairs we sat in; very comfy. Everything was overall amazing with the service we received, including our great server; Taz.Photos are not in order but I included all the appetizers, main course meals and drinks we tried. We loved it all!

Yelp
Pros: beautiful scenery, nice & cozy feel. Great atmosphere for a date night or for drinks with the girls. Drinks were 10/10! & excellent service by Will! Cons: only valet parking, food came out an hour after being seated, small menu, no sides on menu, VERY small portion of food. Honestly not worth the price. You will not get a full plate of pasta or steak with a side of mashed potatoes. Steak was over cooked as well, I asked for medium rare. I know this restaurant is new, but I would not recommend just yet. They have a few kinks to workout. Maybe in another 6 months to a year I'll give them another try! Overall I would rate my experience a 6/10.

Yelp
Had an amazing time celebrating a friend's birthday! Was very impressed with how well cooked the lobster was in both the lobster bisque and lobster spaghetti. My friends loved the burger and the wagyu tartare was pretty good too. Really enjoyed the cocktails as well, espresso martini was very delightful. Joe was our server and he added to the ambiance of our night - thanks for a great evening!

Yelp
The Kennedy opened up a week ago & I immediately made a reservation to give it a try! We ordered the Mozzarella Stick as an appetizer & wagyu smash burgers for our entree & it was amazing! Drinks were probably the best drinks we've ever ordered at a bar. The ambiance was spot on, even had a DJ playing music to match the tone of the night. The only improvement I would wish to see is their operations. I had made a reservation days ahead on open table & specifically requested an indoor table. The moment we arrived, a table wasn't ready & initially they were going to seat us outside because they were "booked". After bringing it to the manager's attention & waiting a few minutes, luckily a table opened up for us. The staff was very nice & courteous, but for the price point, I feel that there are other fine dining spots that execute better. That being said, I still had a great time and highly recommend coming here, especially if you just want to have drinks for a social gathering. I believe with more time, this spot will earn 5 star reviews!

Yelp
This was one of my worst dining experiences. Most of the fault was on the kitchen. When you have a one page menu, and only 5 entrees to choose from, a table of 9 shouldn't be getting their entrees out 2 at a time with each two being able to finish their entire dish before the next one's come out. The waitress was visibly annoyed at the kitchen just trying to bring us our orders, but she got a lot of the tab wrong. We ordered a second order of fries for a starter, never received, but it was on the bill. We were charged for things we didn't order a 4th $24 mozzarella stick and a 5th Guavatini cocktail. The ribeye doesn't come with any sides, so my friend ordered a side of polenta which was listed as a side with the filet, and it never came out. It eventually came out when our entire meal was finished but we didn't want it at that point. Our waters were never refilled. Bussers were clearing dishes before I even got to eat. The food was decent, but it wasn't anything to write home about and definitely not to the level that excused the HORRIBLE kitchen service. The burger was greasy, the lobster spaghetti was good, and they, of course, got the steak temperature wrong. The website says there is live pianist at the time we were dining, and that was not the case. Because of all of the issues faced, I had to review the bill before paying and here is where it went even more downhill. She handed me the little phone sized system to review and the itemizations were put in the order she entered the items in, i think per seat at the table, so it was not listed as 4x Guavatinis, 3x mozzarella sticks, 2x deviled eggs, which means I had to sit there and try to decipher line by line while she stood waiting for me. The only thing i caught at the time was the order of fries we never got, so she removed it and I paid. I didn't remember to confirm if auto group gratuity was already added, and I didn't you can only get a text or email receipt, so I emailed it myself, and I didn't receive it in my email for over 24 hours! After finally getting it in my email, thank GOD they didn't auto charge group gratuity and I didn't accidentally give 20% over that, but what I did see was a 3% Credit Card surcharge and the two extra items. I wrote to them on instagram and requested someone call me regarding my experience, so they called me tuesday evening apologized, and eventually sent me back the money for the two items i was over charged form but didn't ask about my experience. I think these things are forgiveable for a new place, and i hope they find success eventually, but overall I just can't get behind this. Their saving grace were that the cocktails are good. But don't go expecting live music or a good dining experience. Just go for drinks.

Yelp
I visited the Kennedy for sunday brunch with three of my friends, there is no street parking available near by but they offer valet for $5. The place is absolutely beautiful, clean and decorated for Christmas and my drink, the lavender 75 was very good. Okay, i know at this point you're wondering whats up with the 2 star rating then? I ordered the steak and eggs, my steak medium and unfortunately it was super fatty, chewy, definitely not done at medium temperature so i didn't eat it. The eggs and potatoes were good so that held me up. Onto the main reason why I wouldn't go back...the unannounced charges. The server took my credit card and charged me without telling me the total, and as she charged she let me know that the gratuity was automatically included, $75 dollar tip on a $220 tab and that there was a credit card charge. When i inquired about it, after i paid, she said 30% was included and that it was on the website. Not on the website, not on the menu and not anywhere in the restaurant. Which by the way is illegal for a restaurant to not disclose fees.

Yelp
The Kennedy isn't just a restaurant or a bar; it's an experience--an escape where time slows down, and every detail feels intentionally curated. Whether you're stopping by for an afternoon cocktail, a dinner with friends, or a late-night rendezvous, The Kennedy ensures you leave with a lingering sense of nostalgia and the promise of a return visit.

Yelp
I give it a 4! Here's why... Atmosphere: It's a modern lounge with old school decor & square footage outdoors as well, so this is clutch in late fall/winter/early spring. They also have live music on some nights! Food & Drinks: When the cocktail menu is more expansive than the food menu this is a sign "we're a lounge that serves food". This isn't bad, but when the food menu is limited, the margin for error is narrow, execution must be spot on, & consistency is key. *We had brunch here & the avocado toast was good, but the pancakes didn't deliver - they weren't fluffy and tasted like they came from some type of mix that just so happened to lack leavening. The service was good & I hope this continues as more customers come in!

Yelp
I REALLY want this place to make it, and EXCEL. It has look, the location and the crowd. Management seems genuine but feels a bit inexperienced to be running such a high-end establishment. This is ALL meant to be supportive. I arrived to meet a friend on Wednesday evening at 7:30 and the music was SO LOUD it was impossible to hold a conversation without leaning into and nearly shouting to another person, including the servers. The crowd, a very well polished, mature, mostly inner city bunch, were all straining to hold a conversation. Management did not read the audience. The "vibe" was solid for a Friday or Saturday evening, after 10 but NOT on a Wednesday at 7:30. The menu looks nice and the food is reasonable but not exciting, mostly because it was not hot when delivered. One a scale of 1 to 10, the food was a 6. Okay but room for improvement. Again, if management reads the crowd, and ups the food game a bit, this place could be a home run.

Yelp
Really good drinks, went kinda late but beautiful place it's big really good organized and decoration is amazing. Fast service, very friendly and attentive

Yelp
Definitely sexy New York vibes. The bar area is fabulous! Perfect place to have a cocktail and an app. The main dining area is beautiful. Make sure and request that area in your reservation otherwise they'll sit you in the entrance area which is nice but not as "in the ambiance". Food was very good. Not pictured was the burger which was absolutely delicious! Gave 4 stars out of 5. Besides the burger, I wouldn't say the food was outstanding but it was very good. Definitely a nice dinner experience!

Yelp
Where to start... actually. For starters I made an 11:30 reservation and was told once seated that the kitchen wouldn't open for "another 20 minutes". Ok, fine our group just thought maybe they had a staffing issue. The restaurant itself was not busy. There were a couple of tables sat. And about 3-4 people at the bar. Once we were allowed to order food at noon, (mind you, we got there 1130/1140) we ordered pancakes for the table and truffle fries to share as we waited for the last of our party to arrive. About 20-30 minutes later after being assured a few times our food was being plated up -- our "truffle" Parmesan fries make it to the table. While we appreciated that they were hot, they were unsalted, sprinkled with Parmesan and did not even have a whisper or truffle oil. Fine. We were starving, and ate them. About 5-10 minutes later we were promised that our stack of pancakes were being "plated up". Only to be told about another 10 minutes later that they actually couldn't serve them because they couldn't make the syrup work. (Whatever that means). So the waiter kindly offered another dish free of charge. Fine. We ordered the crab cake dish to split while we waited for our last person to arrive. This now puts us at about 1240 and we've only had our drinks and truffle-less fries. Around 1245, all those in our party accounted for, the crab cake dish arrives and we immediately order our main courses. The crab cake eggs Benedict was very meh. It had a kiss of hollandaise and the poached eggs were over cooked. The crab was slightly fishy. The seasoning was nice. The waiter offer to fix it the eggs but at that point it had already been an hour since we sat and we were hungry. We order 5 main courses from their very limited brunch menu. Only 5 of the 7 main courses were available on the day we were there. But at 1:15 (we ordered around 1245) when our dishes hadn't arrived. Normally if this was a busy Saturday brunch spot, I could excuse it. But at this point, there was a table of 6 other ladies, a table of 2 ladies and a handful of people at the bar. Surely the kitchen could manage 5 dishes from a limited menu. But lo and behold. At 1:15 our food still hadn't arrived 30 minutes after ordering. I politely asked for the check of the drinks and the fries. Our server, Taylor, who also claimed to be the manager brought over the bill for all the drinks, the fries and all the food we did not receive , and even the food that was "not available" due to the syrup issue. Taylor tone and demeanor changed once I told him I would not paying for food that did not hit the table. He had an attitude and tried to list all of the dishes we ordered. However we never received them. After this attitude change I asked for a manager, for which then he claimed he was. After insisting I wasn't paying for food we did not receive, he said he'd be back. He then came back and said we'd only be charged for drinks. The bill was still incorrect and he went back again to correct the bill. He came back with what looked like a correct bill. Once I paid the bill , I asked for the itemized receipt, which the he told me "left" the pancakes on. Even though they were never available for purchase?? He assured me he issued a refund but did not provide a receipt. (No worries, that's why I paid with my Amex). Also credit card payers beware. They added a "cc surcharge" to the bill. Will have to go back on the website to check if they state they prefer cash. But they did not tell us that upfront when paying. So overall, the food was very meh. The drinks were fine. The service was awful. Worst service I've had anywhere in the world I've dined.

Yelp
Ambiance was great and so was the service. Taz was a phenomenal waiter. Smash burger was delicious! Drinks took a while to come out, but the food was super quick. Would definitely recommend for a date night.

Yelp
Went here late night for a few drinks, had that millionaire cocktail and it was pretty good. Definitely a good chill spot.

Yelp
Spending more money on influencers than service. Typing this as I sit in the restaurant. The server and bar were alright. Four of us; got in 20 min early (740pm) waited 1.5 for appetizers, 2 of our [prefix] dinner entrees were not available, ended up leaving after 2.5hrs of no dinner. Other tables got food before us. Completely disorganized, we left without even getting dinner. Jack in the box has better service than this place.

Yelp
We had an amazing experience with Taz. The level of service he provided was top notch. We will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Please be careful at The Kennedy. They are hosting car meet-ups on the weekend where participants crowd the street, parking lot, and speed through the neighborhood. Sadly, this is not the place we thought it would be. The staff/manager will not respond to any of our calls to help. Says a lot about them.

Yelp
I was unfortunately disappointed. While the staff were very friendly and welcoming--especially Johnathan--the general team lacked proper training. They were unfamiliar with the menu, lacked basic service etiquette, and seemed poorly managed; for instance, sitting on their phones gave an unprofessional impression. The venue itself is beautifully designed, but the experience was overshadowed by poor service and mediocre food. The concept of "American tapas" was used as a justification for bringing out dishes whenever they were ready, which left more courteous diners awkwardly waiting while their food grew cold. This approach felt disorganized and detracted from the overall experience.

Yelp
I know this restaurant is new, but there is now excuse for the poor service we received. As soon as we sat down we were told the kitchen was backup and we couldn't order for 30 min which was actually closer to being over an hour. We waited over 1 hour to get our drinks and were so hungry that we just decided to leave and eat somewhere else. Super disappointment

Yelp
The wedge salad and lobster spaghetti were delicious. Taz provided excellent and charming service. Ambiance is chic and sophisticated. The piano singer that evening was wonderful.

Yelp
2 stars solely for the good food and ambiance, but terrible service. From beginning to end, our waitress (wish I would have gotten her name but seemed like the only girl waitress there) was very rude and short with us compared to what I saw with her interactions with other patrons. While it took a while to receive our drinks, she forgot our appetizer, bottled water, and did not check in with us at all. The people bringing the food and clearing the table were nicer and had better service than her. Her service alone will keep me from coming back to this establishment which is unfortunate because it's a great vibe with the food, decor, and music.

Yelp
It was extremely loud and very hard to hear the person next to you. Our waiter was not friendly and seemed annoyed when we weren't ready to order even though he didn't bring us the menu when we sat down. The menu is quite limited so very few options to choose from. On top of that the food that they offer comes in small portions so you either have to order several of the same plate or leave hungry. It's more of a bar with a couple of food options than a restaurant but I wouldn't go back to eat. My suggestion is to just go for drinks and no more than 2 people.

Yelp
The ambience is wonderful. There was lovely live music. The staff was friendly. The dirty martinis were perfect in the food was delicious. My friend got the chili and Seabass and I got the lobster spaghetti. The only downside was the food portions were very small for the price. I wouldn't come back here if I was really hungry, but would come back for a small bite to eat and drinks.

Yelp
I would give it zero but there's not the option. No welcome or smile from one of the 2 managers when you walk in, the service, the food, everything way way below sub-par. Without substantial improvements in all fields, from training, kitchen, food, service this restaurant will not last a month, very very disappointing, it reads a good read but did not deliver a thing.

Yelp
Service was great. Andres killed it. New it spot im calling it before the influencers ruin it

Yelp
Drove over an hour into Houston with another couple anticipating to enjoy a nice dinner on NYears eve only to be told upon arrival that the menu had changed from a la carte to a select menu. It would have been courteous for someone from restaurant to have called us earlier in the day to inform us of the change. The menu that was offered was less than appeasing and wasn't worth the set price over $100. This ruined the New Year evening for us and our guest.:-(

Yelp
Rating is somewhere between a 3&4. It is still a soft opening. They are really more of a bar with food than a restaurant. Our food was pretty good but they were out of several brunch items and the list is already pretty short plus they don't serve lunch during the brunch hours. They also don't carry ice tea so folks that do not drink should be aware that their options are limited. Also saw several who were turned away because they brought children. Don't bring your kids. They are strictly 21 and over. We had the avocado toast(good) crab cake Benedict (good) steak and eggs (ok but steak over cooked) and the pancakes were good (needed more of the blueberry syrup). Didn't take photos but all were plated nicely. Ohh the fried potatoes that came with the Benedict were the bomb. Perfectly fried. Not sure if we will go back but I would be willing to give it another shot once they have been open for longer than a week. Decor is pretty.

Yelp
I tried this restaurant, I will never return. Service was terrible, we all ordered appetizers, they came out one at a time, when asked why, answer we serve tapas style. Waiter did not know answers to questions, made up false answers. Will never return !!!

Yelp
Taz was amazing! I will be back. Taz left our party with a smile! Great service! Food was also great! If you go in, please ask for taz who will leave you with a smile on your face!
