King of Meat is a great new taqueria restaurant that opened up! It gave Old Western vibes with its decor, and they did a great job with the decor. When I went on a weekday evening, it wasn’t crowded at all which I liked. I was basically the only one at the restaurant which was great. They also had great music and were playing throwback music from 2011-2014! The service was also absolutely amazing, the server was really friendly and informative. They also suggested good things to try on their menu based on our palette or what we would like. I loved their onion mushroom taco, it was really flavorful, and the flour for the taco was amazing. The balsamic vinaigrette salad they paired with the steak was also really amazing. Their steak was really tender, juicy, hearty, and salty. It also had a great amount of salt in it due to the pink Himalayan ice they put underneath the steak which was really cool, and gives the steak a really good punch of salt in it. Check this place out for a good Old Western taqueria with amazing tacos and steak!

IT'S GOOD TO BE KING. I visited The King of Meat in Sunset Park on a suuuuuper cold Tuesday night with my family, and the overall atmosphere and welcoming environment warmed me up right away. The quality of the meat was very good, and the pricing was about half of what I have seen at similar steakhouses in Manhattan which is wild. Earlier this year, a friend of mine and I were determined to find the best steakhouse in NYC. We went to Hawksmoor, Quality Meats, Carne Mare, Benjamin's, Strip House, Harry's, Keens, and Gallagher's and this place actually holds its own against all the rest...in terms of quality and flavor. The presentation stood out, especially the way the meat was prepared and served on salt blocks and accompied by jus. I had never seen that before, and it added a unique element to the meal. They also provided free garlic bread to start. I appreciated that the steak itself didn't really need to be super covered with seasoning because of the natural salt bed. The service was attentive and made the experience feel comfortable from start to finish. There is also a speakeasy downstairs with a fun? odd? spooky? Sexy prison vibe?? and they sometimes host events there. Overall this was a thoroughly enjoyable visit, and I'm definitely happy to go back.

If you’re looking for a steakhouse that truly delivers, this place absolutely hits the mark. The rib eye steak is the star of the show. It’s perfectly cooked, incredibly juicy, and packed with rich, savory flavor in every bite served on an Himalayan salt rock. The drinks are just as impressive as the food. Everything we tried was balanced and well-crafted, but the mezcal tequila cocktails really stood out. Smoky, smooth, and dangerously easy to sip. I highly recommend ordering the Bigamy cocktail. It’s fruity, delicious, and beautifully refreshing with just the right touch of sweetness. It pairs surprisingly well with the steak and makes the whole experience feel elevated. Great food, on-point drinks, and an overall fantastic dining experience. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

I had an incredible experience at this all-you-can-eat rib-eye! The food was absolutely delicious, and the unique salt-rock cooking experience made it stand out from any other steakhouse I’ve visited. The margarita was also a highlight—perfectly mixed and super refreshing. The host, Rowin, was welcoming and attentive from the moment we walked in, setting the tone for great service all night. We saw a post on instagram that all you can eat on Monday for $49 We went to this place and they let us wait at the door for like 10 minutes after the DJ said to us just go and seat any where so we seat and the server took other 10 minutes to see us , we asked the server about the $49 all you can eat he said i don’t know about this I need to ask he left and after 5 minutes he come back and said yes you can order that but I don’t recommend because they don’t use good meat for this promotion! So we order for the regular menu 2 steaks And 2 sides ! I ordered my steak medium cook and it came very dry we paid like $200 for 2 steaks and 2 sodas ! I don’t recommend this place ! Be careful of social media recommendations!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The King Of Meats in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, and the experience was absolutely outstanding! The service was amazing from start to finish. Our waiter, Rowin, was an absolute delight—charismatic, refreshing, and genuinely warm. He served everything with a smile and brought such positive energy to our table. Rowin truly knew his stuff when it came to steaks, confidently guiding us through the menu and making great recommendations. The presentation of the food was incredible. Our steaks were plated on a Himalayan salt block, and Rowin took the time to explain how to season them properly using their homemade au jus sauce. It added such a unique and flavorful touch to the meal. The drinks were excellent, and the signature cocktail names were hilariously creative—kudos to whoever came up with those! The music was also on point; my daughter and I found ourselves eating and sipping to the beat all night. Rowin, you absolutely deserve a raise! Your happiness and energy were truly felt and made our experience even more special. We can’t wait to come back!

The King Of Meat was overall a great experience. We had a pretty mean Chips and Guacamole for our appetizer. Then I ordered the King Cheesy Hamburger which was very good. Than I had a cheesecake for dessert which was a little plain but at the same time it was good. The only thing I have to complain about is that when I asked one of the waiters for a shot of a soft drink I never got it. But other than that the King of Meat was very good and I'd be more than happy to come again soon!

The food was really good! We ordered the mushroom and onion taco, the cheese and steak dip with chips, 18oz ribeye, and the cheesecake. The service was impeccable, Rowan was a fantastic server who really cares about our experience, and mine as a disabled wheelchair user. The ambiance was very early 2000s vibes, dark, Britney Spears on the tvs! We loved it. THis restaurant has accessible bathrooms for wheelchair users!

The two of us were staying at a hotel nearby for a one-night pre-cruise stay. After the grueling hour and a half ride from LGA to the hotel in Friday rush hour traffic, we were ready for good drinks and food, neither of which the hotel had. Thankfully the friendly Bartender at the hotel recommended this place and we walked the short distance. Our understanding was the restaurant had recently opened, so we were trusting the recommendation and boy was he right! I loved the Malbec I had so much I had two of them. Husband just did a couple Makers Marks. Both of us wanted Burgers. I had the King Cheesy one with no onion ($21) while he chose a Smashed Burger. ($19). Both came with fantastic hand-cut fries. Our burgers were juicy, perfectly cooked and flavorful. Service was terrific. Absolutely loved our experience here! They did add a small "operating fee", for using a credit card, but if you want to avoid that, pay cash. Nothing unusual these days for businesses, and I don't blame them for trying to recoup what the credit card companies are charging them.

I had come here on the first night they had opened to give a try to their food which I found to be too expensive for a neighborhood like Sunset Park so I had not gone back until now. I had dressed up for my daughter's school dance since I was chaperoning and didn't want my female Joker costume to go to waste so I looked for Halloween parties nearby in my social media. I came across a post of The King Of Meat promoting a Halloween dance party along with a costume contest. By the time we got there at 11pm, the kitchen had closed, which was a bummer because I had remembered loving their Patron Guacamole and wanted to try it again. So my family and I ordered drinks, which were about $20. I still believe that's too expensive for the neighborhood we were at but that night I was looking for city vibes without having to take the train all the way out to Manhattan and I found it here. The drinks had fun names like Chupamelo and El Negrito. They were also super strong so I was feeling festive by the second drink. The DJ was playing good music from all eras and genres. I was disappointed that they didn't open the dance floor in the basement, which was much bigger than the little dancing area on the main floor, but there wasn't that many people there that night. I think that it helped us get more into dancing and interact with one another because of how small the dance area was...reminded me of a family dance party at my uncle's living room, which was always a good time. Then it was time for the competition and I had a blast walking down the bar area showing off my costume. I ended up winning second place and won free drinks for me and my family. By the end of the night, my Joker make-up was smeared and my wig was off and that to me meant that I had a good Halloween celebration.

Dropped in with a friend, on Sunday evening to try some of the tacos. We both were not very impressed. We ordered the Whiz, slow cooked ribeye taco. Very underwhelmed by the flavor and it was such a chewy piece of meat. Ribeye done well is so tender. We also had the bareback, quesadilla with chicken swarma. Chicken was decent in flavors, but the quesadilla overall was not good. It's filled with way too much cheese ( looks like the cheap kind) it was a cold big glob of cheese. The drinks were decent, nothing to rave about in my opinion and the service was pretty standard. Nice looking place, really wanted to like it. I don't see myself going back.

First time trying this spot in my neighborhood of sunset park and the ambiance was really nice and big. 2 floors definitely great for groups and after work vibes, and brunch. I love the fact that they have outlets everywhere by every seat and table. I tried their Monday special which was unlimited ribeye with a choice of salad or fries, I went this salad. Salad was very fresh light dressing I really enjoyed it. The steak was thin, but juicy. It came on a bed of salt which did make it a bit salty I had to remove it off the salt to enjoy it. The service was 9/10 bartender was very friendly and informative. I would come back and try the other items on the menu.

Bartender was great the drinks were top tier. wings and fries were amazing, wish they had the tomahawk steak, we tried ordering it, apparently they didn't have tomahawk steaks. we got there an hour after the restaurant opened, which was weird to us we were very disappointed about that. Overall the experience was great i will go back and hopefully they have the tomahawk steak.

Awesome service at the bar!!! We got the burger which was 10/10. We shared it as it was a good amount and we weren't that hungry. We also got the melted cheese w/ steak. We came in around Sunday at 4pm right before they got busy. I love the decor and lighting. I need to come back to try the drinks.

Food is over priced and they don't give good service I have being there a few times there is only one person that actually care about the customer the other people that work there sucks and if you ask to play a song they said they can't because the Mandage don't like anything else but bachata

Came here around 5:30 on a Friday night. Asked about happy hour and what was included, they said there was no menu and after the bartender and server conversed we were told only beers($5) and certain liquors ($9) the only food available was guacamole for $10. We ended up ordering beer and appetizers while waiting for friend (he got stuck with work and came about 20minutes late) We only had 4 people (can check cameras if don't believe all the other tables were only parties of 2, we were the only party of 4) and had automatic gratuities added to the check, was told either cash or Zelle & when I asked about happy hour beer pricing after we got the check, I was told it was only available for the first round(was never informed) Beef carpaccio was good, came with a little salad in the middle, only issue is that it also came with a piece of clear plastic wrap Steaks were bland, was told because it came on the salt piece they don't add additional salt/flavoring..but then comes the question. Is the salt piece washed or cleaned in between guests? Each piece had to be purposefully rubbed/smeared on the salt piece to get any flavoring... the tomahawk was 30% fat pieces and overcooked. Asked it to be medium rare (more on the rare side because lots of reviews said overcooked) The pesto pappardella was bland; tasted like they only used the paste and no additional salt or flavorings. Steaks took about 20-35minutes to come, after appetizers were cleared, we saw the table next to us get their steak; finish it, pay and leave and we were still waiting... Servers were very good at clearing the table of food and drinks, even if there's stuff left in or on the plates and cups. My beer had a good inch left inside and it was removed, the potato croquettes had one left (out of 5?6?) and we were asked if we still wanted it...don't know why he was rushing to clear the table when the steaks and food didn't arrive for another 20-35min. Water was not refilled until asked & the "large lemonade" was just a regular cup with lemons squeezed inside, friend said there was no sugar added (for $7 dollars?!)

Steak was fine, but not memorable. It was a bit overcooked for my taste. The sauce helped a bit. The portion size was good. Overall, just an average meal.

The service was amazing. I went a lunch time and there was only one server. Super nice and friendly. He had everything under control. The food was amazing, plus the presentation was very nice. I really like the inside. I would highly recommend this place.

This was my first visit to the King of meats. We had guacamole, steak quesadilla and cheeseburger. The restaurant is pretty and looks like a good place for a night out (I went at brunch time). The bartender/server was pleasant and attentive. He made sure we knew he was available to us for any questions. They were playing 80s music and the accompanying video on their tv screen. We started off with the guacamole and chips, which was a little confusing at first because the chips are all on top of the guacamole. The guacamole was good but prefer chips on side. I had the steak quesadilla which was very tasty and had a little garlic in it that made it stand out. The garlic made it come alive so it was really good. My boyfriend had the burger which he said was in the top 5 burgers he's ever had. It was a good size, not overly seasoned and just cooked perfectly. We will be returning!!

Visited . Probably the best meat spot in the area . I've got burger and chicken quesadillas.crazy good beer selection but not this time , driving , was happy they carry non alcoholic options . Friendly staff and great service .Rowin bartender took care of us perfectly. Will be back in July .

I've been here twice - the grand opening and again tonight. Came with three of my friends: we got mushrooms & onion tacos, guac n chips, steak & mushrooms quesadilla; beer, dranks: porn star, Passion Fruit margarita, beer Again - magically delicious

Not a great place. Wine list consisted from red and white wine. Steak was served on a block of salt - I get it looks artistic but it also makes food salty. Filet Mignon had a lot of fat. And on top they said they don't take credit cards. Not recommend for any steak lovers.

The food was good, our waiter was awesome, very engaged with us. We were loud and he said no worries, they encourage loud. The music was GREAT!! Definitely need to give them a try

One of the nicest restaurants I've been to in the Sunset Park area, but still with reasonable prices. The interior feels like it could be anywhere in Manhattan and the drinks/food were great. Both my girlfriend and I were pleasantly surprised when we decided to try this spot as we were tiring from the local casual taco spots and takeout counters. The spicy margarita the bartender made was fantastic, and the burger and tacos were both standouts. Highly recommend!

Our Brooklyn daughter brought us here for a Saturday lunch. The garlic bread apps are terrific. We each got a signature cheese burg, excellent. My wife and our daughter's BF split a short rib and an order of fries. Very well prepared and served on a slab of Himalayan sea salt, nice touch. Drinks all around, very friendly bartender, $160.

From the minds behind The King of Fish (El Rey del Pescado), Sunset Park's newest neighborhood gem strikes a perfect chord. An immersive milieu that manages to avoid kitsch. Excellent food. And an impressive list of artful cocktails that will have you sampling around the menu for weeks. Homemade tortillas elevate everything from the spicy chicken to the tender suadero. For the non-carnivores in your party, there's a variety of tasty vegetarian tacos (don't sleep on the poblano taco, or the mushrooms and onions) and a mushroom quesadilla. And then we have the steaks. Seared to perfection and served on a salt block, the steaks can compete with ones in Manhattan going for twice the price. Two members of our party got burgers, an elevated version of the Shake Shack burger: two smashed patties with cheese, lettuce tomato, pickles, and house sauce, served with crispy shoestring fries. And yes, the barhop to/from the King of Fish is highly recommended.

I noticed we had a new gem on 5th and I had to check it out.. turns out they are the same owners of "king of fish" (if you haven't been yet - it's a must to check out, the best shrimp tacos in sunset!) So I ordered 2 tacos, "the corny" which has chicken kebab with cheese & "the dude" which has steak with bacon and cheese ... the corny was mid but the dude omgoshhhhh DELISH!!! I literally had to order another one! For my drink I had Bigamy which was sooooo refreshing!! And pretty good balance with alcohol which is always a plus in my book! Over all service: I sat at the bar & it was good, food got to me quickly, drinks as well. Bartender was super sweet! Definitely a great experience. So if you're looking for a new spot for date night or just a place to grab a drink - this is it!

The food is delicious, the ambience is dark and great to spend the time in with great musical classics but the service could use some work on, specially if you have new comers, the way you treat a customer for the first time reflects on if the customer will come back for a second or third visit.

A little late to the party but so happy to see new great places popping up and thriving post pandemic. Space is really nice. Bartender/ waiter was personable and very attentive. Food is delicious. A perfect Taco Tuesday. Not sure about a "fancier" steak meal but intriguing enough to make another trip

We decided to stop in after a gorgeous walk around Sunset Park. The food was good especially the tacos. The guacamole and chips was decent and the service was OK. A bit slow but friendly staff. I'd go back

Personality I never complained of one place even if the food wasn't that good, but I can say this was the worse experience I've ever had . I can start saying that the wait time is insane, we arrive at 7:20 we waited to be sit around 20 min. we ask for a glass of water and the water was from the sink. Then we waited 45 min to get the appetizers wish supposed to be two and we only got one. Then we decided to leave the place because we waited for a long and the place was cold, we were on the basement, and then they promised that our food was 5min to be ready and we waited another 20 min. When the food finally arrive was cold, the meat overcooked, it was burned from the down side of the steak. They serve the steak on a pink salt board but it was cold and the steak insanely salty. The soup was super salty too and I don't know how they could brought that soup, like if they don't try what they're offering. So in total we paid $220 dollar without tips obviously and it was cash only; for two steaks(which doesn't have any side, you have to pay for it separately) two sides, two appetizers, one bottle of wine. This places is expensive but that's not the problem, the problem is that it isn't worthy, you don't get what you're paying for. I can say the only good but a little bit salty thing was the cheese with chorizo dipping. But all the experience in general was uncomfortable. Wherever I turned to see everyone was mad and I could noticed that everyone was unsatisfied. I never ever will come by this place again And there is no way to recommend it to others. I'm not that bad person to send someone to a such bad place.

I really enjoyed my experience here. The ambiance very cool like a boutique steak house. The service was excellent our server was very attentive and seamed to really care about us. All the items we ordered was very good. The steak was a bit pricey but was interesting with its slab of salt. Never had steak like that before. I'll definitely be back!!

The service at this restaurant was appalling. We were one of three parties and it took nearly 30 minutes to even get our cocktails. The food took absolutely forever to get to us and when it did, it was covered in cilantro which we specially asked that it was left off. We don't know why this place has such a high rating as it mislead us to eat there.

Had walked past this place previously but came in this afternoon for a later lunch -- AND IT WAS SO WORTH IT! My boyfriend and I got guacamole and chips / Ribeye quesadilla and 3 tacos -- it was all so so good. We've been to the King of fish (their sister location) and this was just as good.... Also really great service and the design of the place was really cool. Definitely coming back

After a disasterous attempt to eat dinner at a neighboring restaurant, we came to The King of Meat on a recommendation with a very short window to have dinner and drinks before a show. Well, I wish we came here first. The staff was super friendly, the bar tender is top notch, and the owner, Roger, is a real super personable guy. We ordered a round drinks and a couple of burgers and some tacos and wow - it was DELISH! The guac with chips was outstanding (house made chips) and the house made tortillas for the tacos were perfect. My husband had the burger and ordered it mid-rare and it was perfectly cooked. Cocktails were expertly crafted. I mean, probably the best margarita I've had in my life. Definitely pay this place a visit -you will not be disappointed. Only critique, music is a little loud.

The food portions are extremely small and it's quite pricey. The service was good but it was kind of dead and it was a busy holiday weekend so I'm unsure why. I would probably return if I'm in the area.

Went out with my brother looking for some food/late night drinks. Glad we came here. The kitchen was closed because of the time so we ordered mixed drinks and beer. Everything was great. Mixed drinks were not too sweet, not too strong, just perfect. Very enjoyable. Beer was ice cold. Atmosphere and vibe were great. Staff was kind and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back in the future.

We had a fun night trying out this awesome restaurant. Great menu options, great drinks and awesome food. Definitely worth the trip in from Manhattan! We tried the Tomahawk Steak, it was perfectly cooked. So flavorful as it layed on a block of Himalayan salt. The rest of the party had a few appetizers and tacos, also quite tasteful.

My friend and I came in on a Friday night for drink!! I had the porn star and he had a bourbon neat. My drink was the perfect balance of sweet and tart with enough alcohol. I was also pleasantly surprised to see how much 'attention to detail' was put into this place. From the barrel lights to the jail cell door. The server Alicia and the bartender Frankie were a blast to hang out with. They were personable and friendly. Make sure you say hi to them if you see them (picture attached)! I did not have a chance to eat but I will definitely eat here next time I'm in the area.

Good food, friendly service. Amazing interior. Will definitely come back. We shared guacamole and it was amazing. For the main I had burger and it was delicious.

Not worth it. Over priced food with no taste, will not be going again. Service was also very slow and restaurant was not busy at all. Was looking forward to going because of all the great reviews, very disappointed. We were a party of four, we asked for more napkins and they brought three extra napkins. Also 3 people ordered steak and we were not given steak knives. Steak was over cooked as well. Asked for medium rare for a ribeye and was given a well done steak. Guacamole was good, mash potatoes and asparagus were good as well. However very small portions. Automatic 20% tip as well as an operating fee was charged. Servers and staff were very nice but I would not recommend.

We ate here during their second week of opening and everything was excellent. The steak tacos, cocktails (gold orgasm and negrito) and guacamole were next level. Thrilled this spot has opened up in our neighborhood, can't wait to come back.

Ate there with a friend last week. She ordered the filet mignon and I ordered a quesadilla. Both were surprisingly delicious. We also had some cocktails which were likewise outstanding. Our waitress provided great service and was very attentive. Nothing bad to say. Will definitely return.

I am already a fan of this places sister King of Fish across the street and love the local vibe in this place. When it opened I couldn't get in so waited until month 2. This place did not disappoint! It is another neighborhood gem! I had the "insane tostada" as well as another one and an incredible "el negrito" mescal cocktail. Come for the cocktails... stay for the food or the other way around. Another hit and thanks to the folks who brought it to us! Oh by the way. Reasonably priced!

Coming here was a mistake. The vibe from the outset wasn't inviting and I should've listened to my gut. Loud blaring classic rock songs, in some flat cover versions, puts an end to casual conversation. The food was generic tacos at a high price, as opposed to the more genuine taco options established in the hood. Even though the place was practically empty the waitress managed to forget our drink order. When she finally presented them to us, half way through the meal, she announced they made the wrong one, would we mind drinking it anyway. Geez, practice at home. Avoid and move on.
