The Krug Room

This restaurant has been on our bucket list for years. The food was excellent though some of the dishes had too many elements. And there was just too much food in proportion to the amount of Krug given. The set menu comprises of 4 glasses of Krug over a set menu of 10 dishes. I think they could've allowed a half glass more per stage. 1 glass to last over 2 - 3 courses seemed a bit stingy. If I compare it to the dinners we've had at French Laundry or Vue de Monde, it was not in the same league. The plastic flowers in the dining room were tacky. Not something I would associate with Krug. Service by Ryan was lovely.

Food delicious, service superb. Love the new arrangement where smaller parties can book without privatizing the entire room. 11 course set came with 4 champagnes - Krug, of course. Plating size was perfect - despite the number of courses, didn't come out overly stuffed. Will be back

A flawless dining experience. We enjoyed the Spring menu as a private party. The 9 course menu was impeccable, food was creative and ludicrously tasty. The waiters and executive chef who introduced each meal were delightfully charming. The ambience and decor is also wonderful, if Google gave me the option I'd give this 100/100, truly faultless.

Lovely atmosphere with festive decoration. Service is excellent. But food is just ok. Most dishes are quite salty for me especially the tartare, pigeon and steak. Cooking skill of the Kagoshima A4 steak is good. However quite salty. One more comment on my chair. I couldn't sit on it without a cushion. Pls try my feeling by sitting on it.

Special dining experience with Krug as theme, located in a beautiful secret room, five stars service, food and wine portion was good but taste was just average.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. There were only 3 of us to enjoy the great food, and wonderful champagnes. The chef came to prepare some dishes at the table, and to talk us through the specifics of the dish. It was a unique experience, and one I am very glad that I had.

We shared a birthday dinner with a group of 8. The courses were imaginative and many tasted great. However, considering the restaurant is called "Krug room" I would have expected there to be a bit of an introduction to the champagnes we were having. The service was the biggest peeve I had. We ordered a second bottle of wine midway through our dinner and they brought it after dessert more than an hour later when we had already finished our dinner. Also, towards the end of our dinner, the staff seemed to just forget us: After dessert they switched off the music and left us there without checking if we would need anything or want coffee/tea as is customary with desserts. No one checked on us until we went to look for a waiter. Considering the above, the price is a bit excessive. When going into the four digit range, this kind of things shouldn't happen anymore. However, the Krug Room is a beautiful, elegant place to enjoy some good food in good company and I am sure the issues with service might be due to the holidays or some other lack of staff perhaps.

Want to come for many years and finally made it. It has minimum charge when u try to book but manageable if u have a party of 6-10. It won’t be able fit a large group of 12 I believe. Need book way in advance. Each season they will re decoration the room with their up to date menu. Krug Room for sure is for champagne lovers. U might get bankrupt when u come as so many good and reserved champagne available.... Food was very good. Kitchen behind you where u can see what they cook for u. Taste and quality and presentation was very high standard. I had had many top food prepared by top chef. They do get to those standard, or not far away from StarsResturant. It’s a nice experience and a good time to relax and chat with your friends.... lovely evening I had.. I hope u would also be able to try at least once, for visitor, if u plan early might be easier. It’s inside Mandarin Oriental Hotel in HongKong. Cheers!

Being the only remaining Krug room left in Mandarin Oriental group, it was very special. Picture yourself in a small room that is positioned inside the kitchen so you can see the food being prepared. The room is decorated according to the season, cabinet of vintage Krug champagne and a Single table that sits 10-12 ppl. Degustation of 12 dishes, I'm not going to bore you with how exceptional good the food is and Krug Grande Curvée and Krug Vintage 1998 contrast with the food etc. The highlight for me has to be "the picnic" dessert... feels like something Heston Blumenthal would do. A memorable "out of this world" experience, at a steep cost (2x $ than say Pierre in MO) but it is by far not your everyday degustation experience!!!
