The Lake House Kitchen & Tavern

I had never been here before and had never heard anything about this restaurant, I came in on a busy Thursday night. I sat immediately at the bar and I was greeted instantly and given a water and asked for a drink order. I ordered a martini and it was very good. I had the mushroom soup and the buffalo chicken salad. All of my food was amazing the soup especially! The staff was nice and prompt and after another gentleman asked how my experience was. The view here of the lake is really nice. I will be back 💯

We were recommended this place and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. We were told the chicken was good, and people with us enjoyed the chicken. Everything was good, but I left hoping for better for the prices. Service was slower, but friendly. It was winter, so we didn't check out the patio next to the small lake, but it looks like it would be nice in the Summer.

We sat on the patio and it felt like we were on a lakeside out east. The food was great. We had the Mushroom soup, Cobb salad topped with tender steak slices, and the fried chicken. Finished with vanilla ice cream with Chocolate Grenache and a Cappuccino. The food had a homemade touch. We would come back anytime and highly recommend.

First time trying The Lake House Kitchen & the whole family loved it! Casual dining, good food & great service - had sat at the bar while waiting for our reservation (great idea) lots of TV's to watch the games and took our wait staff's recommendations - Chicken Piccatta - delicious!!

I LOVE THE LAKE HOUSE!!!! The food is wonderful! You can ALWAYS count on having a great meal! Sure, there's other restaurants in the area but the Lake House is preferred all the time by myself, friends and family when we want to go out and eat. The inside of the restaurant is warm and inviting while the humongous deck outside overlooking clement Park, the water and the mountains is breathtaking. They have heaters on the deck when called for and umbrellas if the table is in the sun. They will take care of you! The wait staff is phenomenal on their game! The teamwork between them, food runners, host/hostesses, management and cooks really sets this restaurant apart from all! BRAVO LAKE HOUSE! If I could give a 10 star I would!

I had a walled Eye Fish and chips. It was fresh and cooked well with balanced flavours. The restaurant overlooks the lake and outdoor seating is a must on good sunny days. I will definitely come back and highly recommended!

The food was good, but the service was better. I really appreciated Greg for the top tier humor and pleasantness that he brought to the experience of dining here. I had the Nashville hot fried chicken sandwhich as well as the Venga beer.

Great, fresh fish. I got a fish sandwich. Awesome options to eat, very busy and popular. Sweet potato fries were addictive. Our server was very nice, diligent and professional. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The host staff was nice, nothing outstanding. I just removed a star because they were mostly gossiping with one another when we came in and while we were waiting. It wasn’t a huge deal, but not very professional for a sit down restaurant.

This place is so cute and has awesome food! Passed by it on a walk around the lake and had to try it out a few weeks later. The dip sampler was so yummy and their queso was better than most Mexican restaurants!! I got the crab cake salad and it was delicious!!! One of the best things I've tried in a while! Overall, I will say that it's a bit pricy here but worth it for the quality of the food! Will definitely be back to try some more and next time with some of their yummy looking cocktails!?

Food was good, ordered the bread pudding french toast for $18. It looked like a garnish of one slice of bread with one strawberry sliced up and 7-8 banana slices with a tbsp of whipped cream, and two slices of bacon. It was very good but extremely overpriced for what you get.

Just tried this place on a whim. Soooooo good! We had their prime rib, their pork loin sandwich, and their fried chicken. Definitely a place to go. Servers are delightful. We were pleasantly surprised. We will return!

We brought our family for a low key birthday dinner (no singing allowed!) and found a winner with The Lake House Kitchen. We arrived early as we weren't sure about the traffic impact for the snow but it was no issue being seated early. Our server was awesome, helping us pick what worked best for each of us. I'm happy to report that the food here is excellent- most of us had the 4 piece fried chicken and I had the wall eye sandwich. The secret winner, in addition to the main courses were the sweet potato fries. I could eat a plate of those on their own. Thanks so much for a great meal!

Amazing food! Phenomenal service! Nice decor and ambiance. I'm from Wisconsin, and this was the best walleye I've ever had.

While visiting Denver for a concert in Red Rocks, I was tasked with finding a nice brunch spot since I'm always on Yelp! The Lake House had great views and an interesting menu, so we wanted to try! We were seated out on the large patio, and it was so nice to eat and enjoy the view of the lake. I decided to order the Fly Over cocktail from their seasonal spring menu that contained Empress Gin and lemon juice, and it was so refreshing! Our server was very sweet and helped answer all of our questions. My friend ordered the grilled chicken ceasar pita and I ordered the lobster roll slider off of the seasonal menu. The pita was great and enough to save for later, and while my lobster roll looked small, it was perfectly filling and so delicious! The waffle fries were fantastically crispy and their ranch was great! Overall, I'd love to come back and visit next time I'm in Denver!

We were visiting the Denver area and decided to stop here, the waitress (so sorry to have forgotten her name) was really kind and provided impeccable service. The food was also really good and a reasonable price. We got so many recommendations on sites to see on our short trip and got a nice drive out of it. I recommend!!

Might have been salvaged if we had sat outside to get a lake view but the food was just awful. Waffles were cold and overcooked, eggs were watery. Shrimp po boy was freezing cold, wilted veggies, no toasted bun... gross. Mimosas used such cheap champagne it was hard to even stomach, no one drank them so that was a waste. Wouldn't let us bring home a sangria that I didn't have time to drink even though by law they're allowed to... so wasted another $10 on that.

Hostess was very rude and disrespectful . Ruined the whole experience for us. The front of the house is the first impression.

A wonderful ambiance in the heart of the foothills, The Lake House truly feels like a place away from the city despite sitting within it. With a patio sitting right on the lake and Mountain View's to the west this lakeside cabin themed restaurant not only has great ambience, but also stellar service and some wonderful food. Our server told us they are known for the Walleye and chicken so that is what we ordered and both were outstanding. While the menu is not big, we found multiple things we would love to try, so we will definitely be back.

Their happy hour is the best! Fried chicken is really good too. Service is always friendly and welcoming. Make a reservation for the patio or try your luck at the bar!

This is our all time favorite restaurant! The food and service never disappoint. Blake is especially wonderful and has made our experience on New Years Eve as well as Valentines Day. Thank you Blake!!

I am going to give this place a solid 5 star review. Came here today for lunch with some coworkers and the overall experience was fantastic. We sat inside because outside was a 25 min wait but took a peek and wow it was a gorgeous patio overlooking the lake. Inside we sat in the bar area and had fantastic service and couldn't have been happier. For lunch I took her advice and had the cob salad and for protein I added the steak cooked medium rare. This salad was not your typical cob and was more deconstructed but had all the great things one would love. The steak was so flavorful and cooked absolutely perfect. I also enjoyed a cup of the clam chowder to start and might've been one of the best cups of chowder I have ever had. Full of what clam chowder should have clams! Just an overall spectacular experience and I would for sure be back.

The food was just okay for me. I had the corn salad, which is a summer special. It didn't have a lot of flavor and the corn, although fresh, was slightly past its prime. I also had the bloody Mary (or Lake Mary as they call it). It was great, perfect level of spice. The service was outstanding, from the host to the servers. The location was great. We sat outside overlooking the lake. Beautiful. There was a slight sewage smell on the patio. It seemed to come and go depending on the breeze. Not sure what that was...

Our group of 16 received amazing service. All the food was excellent. I wanted to try the house made salad dressings so tried 3...all were great.

This is a great spot for lunch. Our server Blake was a nice guy who took good care of us and brought the food out nice and hot. The Chicken pita sandwich was great and the hot spinach was tender and tangy.

The deck is the way to go, eating and drinking overlooking the lake. The inside I fine but the decor is a little stale Never had bad service here. Food is pretty good and the mushroom soup and the soft pretzel are excellent. Could use a few more vegetarian dishes and pretzel should have came with a stone ground mustard. Relaxed vibe.

Lovely lake views and decent food. *Dog friendly Came here on a Wednesday afternoon for a dinner date night. Waited around 10 minutes for a patio table overlooking the lake. Our waiter was great, young guy with a hat and tattoos. Wish I would have gotten his name. Very attentive and personable. We ordered a salad and the breaded fish and shrimp. They did have a happy hour menu that had a few drink and appetizer options. The food was nothing to write home about, but it was good. The true highlight is the view! If you sit on the patio, you have a lovely lake view! We even took a walk after dinner wish was such a treat. I really enjoyed this spot, Highly recommend and plan on taking friends here when they visit. Overall 4.5/5 stars!

The ambiance is great here and I could see how it would be a lovely place to hang out in summer since it is on the edge of the lake. The staff is also very friendly and kept checking up on us. However, I will say that I was a bit disappointed with the food. I got their chicken and waffles. I felt like the chicken was a bit on the drier side and the breading felt super oily. It was seasoned well. The waffle was nothing special - it honestly reminded me of the DIY ones that you make at the hotel breakfast. It had that same sort of crumbly/airy quality. I think I would only come back again if it was in the summer for drinks and their happy hour menu.

They have decent food options and excellent quality of food. Dined there to celebrate my wife's birthday and it was an amaizng place. The view was so cool and has great vibe around the place. Nicely decorated place and it has nice ambiance. The menu was outstanding. Can't remember some of the food we ordered but I really like the Prime Rib Sandwich and Crab Cakes were so tasty. The appetizer really hit the spot. The drinks were great too. The staff was friendly. Didn't served the food late.

My favorite seat is inside this place with a martini in hand. This little beauty beckons you to stay awhile and linger either on the patio, at a bar top or dining seating or simply in the area. Plenty of parking and usually able to grab a table under 20 minutes. It can get busy around the usual hustle bustle times of any restaurant. Staff is always friendly and found them to be quick on service. Still have not really tried their brunch but I've been here for happy hour and dinner several times. Great selection of food and drinks. Love the beers on tap. Huge fan of their LH martini because they are the only place I know that serves Gorgonzola olives. Ooeemmggee. Happiest. Girl. Eva. My favorite is the steak tacos with the green chili sauce. Second choice goes to the crab cakes that can be an appetizer or meal itself. The tenderloin medallions and prime rib entree were generous in portion and cooked perfectly medium rare. You can't go wrong with the walleye or burger options too. The one star shy of making a five came from the soup order on a prior visit. I don't know if it got lost in translation but ordered chicken noodle and got what seemed more like minestrone. The consistency, taste and even meat was not your traditional chicken noodle. The server checked with the chef and kindly removed it from tab since no one touched it. Overall, the casual setting makes this a cute spot to ride your beach cruiser, grab drinks and tacos and chase the sunset around the lake. Can't go wrong with that kind of date night!

Every bite of the bread pudding is a journey to paradise. The s'more brownie waffle is great! Crispy on the outside, moist and gooey on the inside, this decadent brownie waffle is topped with marshmallows and a graham cracker crumble. Okojobi Cosmo, a signature cocktail at Lake House Kitchen + Tavern will tantalize your senses on this AWESOME patio! Can't beat this lakeside chill spot. Service was on point, too!

Stopped by for lunch. It was a beautiful day and we sat on the patio with a view of the lake. The food was delicious, as were the drinks. I got the Rueben sandwich with potato wedges. The bread was nice and toasted and the pastrami was lean and delicious. We also got the cheese curds which were amazing. I highly Recommend this spot for a weekend brunch.

It was a busy night so maybe that is why service was a bit slow... the server was friendly and relaxed. Definitely a great casual place for family dinner, not so much a date night spot (at least tonight, it was raining so there was no dinning outside but I imagine that is lovely). The drinks were mediocre and tasted almost watered down. We got the crab cakes as an appetizer and they were good! The cream of mushroom soup was my favorite thing we had. The rotisserie chicken was dry and flavorless. The mashed potatoes and gravy were decent. My husband had the Nashville Hot chicken and that had great flavor.. his side of green chili Mac and cheese not so much. Overall, I would give them another try because this dining experience was just so-so.

Took my mother in law here when we came to visit and everything was great. Food was good, service was excellent, and the ambiance was beautiful outside on the patio next to the lake. We will definitely be back!

I think the higher reviews are due to the ambiance-the patio was nice and the server was pleasant. I was looking forward to this first experience but was disappointed by the food. The loaded potato wedges were dry and didn't seem fresh. The pita chips that came with the buffalo chicken dip were hard as rocks. Steak and fried chicken were just ok.

We were apartment hunting and hungry when we found this place. I tried their spring menus but was dissatisfied with the choice. it was so bland and had a large piece of gristle on my sandwich (Chicken Salad). The waffle fries were the highlight of my half eaten meal. Not worth $18 ever! My daughter was happy with her fried chicken however. And her guest liked the chicken and waffles Perhaps I picked the wrong item! The service was decent and the lake view make it worth a try.

Service was good - and the management super chill about us staying at our table and talking even after they'd closed. I'd recommend the Lake House! Food was good too! We had two plates of the tacos - nothing exceptional, but well priced and tasty. The view of the lake really makes this place a bit better than the competition. Make the reservation and wait it out to sit outside. You won't regret it.

This place is so over rated! The food is not good and the service has been slow every time we have tried it. Yes, the patio is a beautiful spot to have a beer but don't order food. The food is so over priced. $20 for 4 shrimp a 1/8 cup of slaw and 10 fries! Won't be back. Not even for that view.

This place is great! What makes this restaurant special is that it sits next to a beautiful lake. My husband, daughter, and I went on a Sunday afternoon for the happy hour deals. The happy hour is basically the appetizers with 2 dollars off. I got the potato wedges and chicken taco. We algo got sangrias (not on happy hour menu). Overall, the food was good, nothing special, but definitely would come again for the sangria and the view! Also the service was great. Speedy. Food came out quickly. And the patio seating next to the lake is just amazing.

Expensive for poor quality food, chicken tasted like fish, french dip meat hard as a rock. Went in Wednesday night, place was packed, feel bad for all the people paying that much to eat that garbage. Will not be going back.

We had a great day on the deck at the Lake House after a walk around the Lake Trail. On these beautiful weather days, remember to check this place out, sit outside and enjoy a drink and some food! The Lake House had some Mardi Gras specials which included chicken and Andouille gumbo over rice and blackened catfish with dirty rice. We split both dishes which were excellent and spicy. We had the chocolate brownie waffles for dessert, topped with a ganache that wasn't too sweet and vanilla ice cream which was perfectly sweet! We shared a carafe of sangria, perfect warm afternoon drink!!

Great experience! Our server Lance was very friendly and attentive. He got our drinks out fast and made time to talk with us and give recommendations even though we weren't his only table. We also asked for a couple modifications on our food, and everything came out perfectly. The service was definitely one of the highlights of our experience. I got the Lake House burger and substituted the veggie patty, and it was one of the better veggie burgers I've had! The loaded potato wedges were even better than they looked and were cooked perfectly. If you choose to sit inside like we did, I'd bring a jacket because it was pretty chilly. The host offered us the patio, and we'll probably sit outside next time because we'll definitely be back.

Recommended through a friend to try this place Mushroom soup is soooo good, the three amigos was not what I expected. the queso is more of a chili queso good for the average person that doesn't want authentic. Service lacked a little when it got busy Waitress mentioned they're known for the fried chicken and it was good and juicy so I put them inside my top 5 places for that Catfish was good along with the dirty rice Would come back Service brought the score down

So the visit started off not so great- we sat about 10 minutes no water no drinks no one came up to us. I had to go to hostess station and ask if they knew who our waiter was and finally a gal came. I can say she was not the most friendly and all thru visit she would attend other tables and not look our way. The 4 stars is food alone, we got the wedge, crab cake and the walleye fish with wedges and all was great. The fried walleye is so light and buttery and their homemade tartar and remoulade were awesome. Finished with bread pudding which was great also. Hopefully they get better service it's really nice inside and great options I do want to try their fried chicken next time.

First off...have to give a shout-out to our server, Priscila, who was personable, friendly, and most important---efficient! She really helped make our meal great. There were four of us so I'm going to do this a bit different and list each dish we had, along with comments... Mushroom soup: creamy good mushroom flavor blended base with chunks of shrooms. Some of the BEST creamy mushroom soup I've had!!! Served with saltines...might suggest a sourdough roll for dunk Mac and cheese: It was creamy and cheesy, but bland. With the addition of some extra salt and pepper it was better but would consider some additional seasoning to boost the flavor. Spinach with lemon and garlic: This stuff is the bomb, if you like spinach. Made with fresh spinach (yes you can tell) with the addition of lemon and garlic, both prevalent in the dish! Fried chicken: Their claim to fame, which we agree with! It was juicy and tender on the inside and the outside was good and crispy, seasoned well. Walleye combo fry: This was a disappointment, not taste wise because the shrimp was excellent and so was the fish...served with one piece of fish (smaller size) and six shrimp for the price of $18. We all felt that was the big factor in bringing down rating to four stars. Again, taste wise it was good (and thank you for accommodating the request to switch out the Cole slaw for wedge fries (which could have been a bit more crispy). Nashville hot sandwich: Great sandwich, lots of good spice and the crispy crust on the chicken was so flavorful and crunchy. You need to like spice for this one! Lastly, 12oz Prime rib: Wonderfully cooked-I asked for it rare and then thrown on the grill to bring it up to medium. The crust was salty and so good and the piece of meat itself was thick, with a minimum amount of fat cap. Cannot rave enough about this (available only on Saturday and Sunday only)! Came with horseradish, and because I'm a sucker for it...I asked for extra creamy and raw to create my own level of hotness. The loaded mashed potatoes were just as good. We sat inside because it was too cold to be outside but next visit (when warmer) will be on the patio next to the lake! I always give a shout out to the kitchen when the meal is worthy (they never hear from the customer!) so made sure to give them a huge thank you! That of course, caught the GM, Brevan's, attention and he thanked me for that...also let him know about Priscila's great work as well. Our overall rating is 4.5 stars!!!

The best part about this restaurant is its location on the lake and the outside patio where you can enjoy looking at the water. I've eaten here several times since the pandemic started. I don't know if it's a personnel problem in the kitchen or not, but the food is just... ok. At best it's on par with a place like Applebee's. I've never had a meal that was piping hot, exceptionally flavorful or anything I'd make a special trip back to eat again. I've been here several times, always coming for the patio experience, always hoping the food will be exceptional and each time leaving with a feeling of "It was ok."

Love the restaurant vibe and outside with the lake view is epic. Menu options look great and even with selecting something they recommend I was not impressed by the food. My sweet potato french fries were cold and my French dip bread seemed not super fresh. The location is awesome, but I don't think the food is at the same level. I'll go back again just with less expectations maybe for drinks and apps

I had such a delightful dinner here! The restaurant is beautifully located by a small lake. It was a great location to catch dinner with a sunset. I was accompanied by a couple family members & not planning, we all got something different which allowed us to try more items on the menu. We tried both of their steak plates, one with Chimichurri & Rice, & the other with the fixings.. soup, potatoes & veggies. Of course we ordered it medium rare & it was cooked perfectly! I wasn't a big fan of the rice on the chimichurri plate only because I felt it had a little too much lemon/lime, but that may be personal preference. We also tried the Walleye and my mom was a very big fan! Oh man, they also have delicious dinner rolls!! Overall our experience was a very good one!

Loved the back porch atmosphere. Service was consistent and helpful and friendly. I know a table outside is sometimes a wait and we only had to wait 14 minutes on a Sunday afternoon. The drinks were tasty and well proportioned and my fish tasted fresh. I'd recommend and go back.

Every time there, its always great food, drinks, and service I really like what they have done to the interior design and its Dog Friendly. Awesome

This is an amazing place. The bar area and the patio areas are my favorite places to dine. Happy hour is seven days a week starts at 3:30. I have never found a better slider with waffle fries anywhere. Lettuce, tomato, pickle and cheese curds, to die for! (perfect size, beef patty, or crispy chicken) Their French dip with mushrooms is delicious too.... three amigos is a must have every time! The owner is always doing things to improve this place. Adding nice touches constantly! if it ever gets a little too windy on the patio, the automatic screens come down and the heaters in the ceiling are so cozy, if it's a bit chillier. Lots of umbrellas plus the covered area And then you can sit down by the water. It's fabulous, need I say more!

Good food, excellent service and great views. Tremendous hospitality and wonderful place to meet friends.
