It has preserved it's old legacy and is probably one of the cheapest 5 star hotels in the country. The room feels cozy and spacious as one needs. The buffet breakfast is awesome as it gives you the opportunity to try a variety of items. Although baby friendly items are less but they help you and provide the needful baby food free of cost like khichdi, daliya etc. If one wants to enjoy the facility of a 5 star hotel in a tight budget then one must try it. The staff behaviour is responsive and service delivery is also on time. The hotel is located in the middle of the old city so connectivity is not an issue. All the major spots of the city of joy is within half an hour from the hotel. So, enjoy your stay and get the feel of being privileged at the Lalit Great Eastern.

AMAZING! Our first time here for a family wedding. We are from California in the U.S. The hospitality we recieved from Team Lalit was exceptional. From the door greeter, lobby personnel, front desk associates to the wonderful Lalit team at our daily breakfast and the valet for laundry service, ALL were kind, helpful and so, so welcoming. We had very busy days of enjoying your vibrant city and celebration. To wake to such hospitality and then again to return to it in the late evenings is priceless. I even had a visit to the spa, what a relaxing treat. We are on our way to Kochi for a week and then back for 1 final stay before our trip back home to the states. Thank you team Lalit for being part of an incredible, unforgettable trip.

I have just spent 2 nights here with my wife and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We had a room in the Edwardian block which was spacious and well appointed with a large very comfortable bed. Our package included breakfast and club lounge access and I wailed highly recommend both. The breakfast buffet was extremely varied and excellent quality and all the staff were attentive, helpful and friendly . I would like to give a special mention to Amjad, who worked very hard to ensure everyone was well looked after in the restaurant The club lounge was open in the evening and included some very good quality and tasty snacks as well as complementary cocktails . The pool area was very clean and a nice area to relax and the gym was well appointed. All in all a first class hotel which I would highly recommend

as soon we arrived I had a wrong impression on this hotel. wide shining lobby but cold staff. later in the days I realized the staff was the best I ever met. the cleaners at the floor were always available to supply additional coffe and other amenities, the concierge was glad to show and recommend us the sites that must be visited in the city and the waiters at the breakfast were super fast and gentle. the 3rd day my partner got nausea and suddenly moved to the toilet during breakfast. the chief of the service immediately come and ask how he could help. I asked to bring in the room some juices and I was given some disposable glasses of that beverages plus later a waiter delivered more in the room. two mentions go to the young waiter Rik and the deaf and dumb waiter Amjad, and Anirvan super attentive polite and kind. the room was wide and clean despite not super sound isolated and noise from the road and the corridor might disturb you if you have not a heavy sleep. the gym is well furnisced and clean. the breakfast food was fresh, wide and replaced frequently. the location must be rated as 10 plus because you can reach almost all the city attractions ( monuments and markets) walking and just in case the metro hub is 300 meters away from the hotel. in conclusion this hotel is value for your money and is strongly recommended. If one day I will be back to Kolkata I will.defenitely rebook in this place.

It is rare that you stay in a hotel that manage to get everything right, but this one is pretty much bang on. The room was large, airy, and beautiful, we had both firm and soft pillows, the noise from outside stayed outside. Breakfast was amazing, not only in it's range, but the quality of the food and the generous attentive staff team. I really cannot think of any aspect of the hotel that can be improved, the domestic staff were delightful, everyone was friendly and attentive, yet professional. Well done!!

The hotel is great, the breakfast options and masala tea is also great. The staff are very friendly and the door greeters are also doing a good job. One issue to address is that, for a five star hotel, the rooms are not up to the standard. You could clearly see that the showers have dirt in the edges, the toilet seats are also old and started to wear off. Even in the breakfast area, you can see there's dirt built up on the edges of the wall. The hotel staff and food is good, but the rooms need better cleanliness and maintenance.

In the heart of the city is The LaLiT Great Eastern. Legacy rooms are different and worth it but unfortunately no views. Rooms need a little bit of upkeep but beds are super comfortable and good sleep. The hotel is gorgeous. Breakfast is good. Massive hotel with many rooms. Many nearby restaurants, paan wala and puchhka wala. Staff pleasant, polite and helpful

Stayed at the hotel mid-November for a family wedding. The quality of the rooms were poor as the room smelled of mould and the furniture also looked worn off. We asked them to do something about it (smell) and whilst they tired, it didn’t work. My wife is asthmatic and we requested to change our room. The new room was better, however, some mould smell still persisted. The hotel is situated in a historic and busy part of the city, hence, don’t expect to see great views from the rooms. Food quality was average. Although we just ate breakfast there. Service was good and all the staff were very courteous.
