The Hit List: New Mexico City Restaurants To Try Right Now - Mexico City - The Infatuation

"The Lamb, from the team behind Marmota, is adding tavern energy to the Mexico City restaurant scene. They're serving elevated British comfort food with zero pretension and plenty of Guinness. This place is a fun, Roma-stylish, and not-so-fussy spot for a perfectly crisp scotch egg with housemade ketchup, or a rich, flaky rabbit pie that’s not overly heavy. While classics like the fish and chips (ideally paired with a pint) are the move, the menu also surprises—the grilled langoustines in lovage butter and a chayote, endive, fennel, and cheddar salad bring freshness to the mix." - guillaume guevara

Best fish and chips I’ve had in Mexico City. The sticky toffee pudding was also one of the best, if not best, I’ve ever had. Chips were magnificent. My only complaint was that the sauces didn’t taste like what you’d find in a pub. I would have preferred more traditional sauces. But other than that it was just wonderful. Staff were great, too.

The Lamb: Simple, Tasty, and Laid-Back Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Lamb is a small, cozy spot serving British-inspired comfort food without overcomplicating things. The vibe is relaxed, the service is friendly, and the food hits the spot. I tried the salt & vinegar crisps, fish and chips, and the mushroom pie. The pie was the highlight—super flavorful and something I’d go back for. I also had the cider, which was nice, but the pour felt a bit small for the price. Heads-up: it can get pretty warm inside, so I’d recommend going in the afternoon, on a cool day, or later in the evening. If you’re looking for a chill place to grab a tasty meal without the fuss, The Lamb is definitely worth checking out.

British restaurant featuring a cozy decor and balanced flavors. There were two bar stools and it was a cute setup for dates. We enjoyed all the dishes we’ve tried. - Oysters (my only complaint is the portion is small… an order of 2) - Mackerel pâté (savory, buttery and flavorful) - Chayote salad (refreshing greens) - Trout (nicely crisped skin; the capers tied the dish together) There were not many gluten-free options, but we were pretty full after the meal (only missing dessert).

Do any of you remember when the Winston Churchill's was open? Yeah, "the Lamb" made me forget any remnants of that place. That place only wishes it had been as good as this. The Lamb is a refreshing reminder of what English food can be. The food is well done, the scotched egg is one of the better scotched eggs I've had, including the ones in England. The flavors are proper English fair with plenty of peas and gravies. The rabbit pie is surprisingly light but filling at the same time. To keep this short, I hope this place finds success because it's easily the best English restaurant in Mexico. Don't change! To be fair and talk about the negatives, I feel like charging for the bread and butter seems petty; especially since they only give you three slices of cold (pretty good) sourdough. And their home beer is not very good, it just tastes like straight alcohol.

The Lamb was a wonderful experience that met and exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed the scotch egg and pay de pollo, and had some delicious drinks as well. I’d definitely recommend the Lamb for a date night or group dinner.

Was really looking forward to this opening and they exceeded my expectations. Incredible food, lovely staff, the details on both the restaurant itself and the food are special! Tried the veggie pie, the carrots, the scallops which were a special and I very much hope I can try them again eventually. Everything was scrumptious!! There’s wine, cider and beer, impeccable selection on all ends. I’m still thinking about the sticky toffee pudding and the whipped butter. New CDMX favorite!

We came here hoping to find a good place. Then it started raining. And we found this place, so we decided to try it, and we're not disappointed. This place is awesome. They have a lot of our favorite foods and it's so tasty. It was really good.

I recently visited The Lamb in Mexico City, and it was an outstanding experience. The restaurant offers a creative fusion of British and Mexican cuisine, all set in a prime location with a great atmosphere. We tried several standout dishes, starting with the masa madre with creamed butter, simple but absolutely delicious. Then came the fish and chips, which, as expected from a place like this, were perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. But the real surprise was the rabbit pie, it might sound unusual, but it was phenomenal. Definitely a must try. To finish, we had a chocolate dessert pie (can’t recall the name), which was also excellent. What sets The Lamb apart is how different it feels from other spots in the area and that’s exactly what makes it special. I’ll definitely be back. Mexico’s food scene just keeps getting better.
