Fantastic experience! Dunno what they put in those “crab cakes,” but they taste and feel like the real thing!! The collard greens and candied yams were on point too. And the sauces? Both the tartar sauce and mustard dip were so good I wanted them in a cup so I could just chug it. Highly recommend!

Google
Had the special platter with the vegan crab cakes, collards, and potato salad. The crab cakes were perfectly crispy and delicious and the collards were some of the best I’ve ever had (despite the lack of meat)! The staff were friendly and the art made the space incredibly interesting. Highly recommend!

Second meal experience with The Land of Kush while visiting Baltimore from Orlando for the Baltimore Women's Classic 5K. Had Uber Eats two days before (Vegan Crabcakes, Live Kale Salad, Buffalo Nuggets, and that was good tasting food). First time in-person today at the restaurant. Music playlist of 80s, 90s, and 2000s R&B in the background feels good in all the best ways. Employees are cool, some...what friendly with their greetings and interactions. Yo, I get it...every day ain't the best day. But smiles do go a long way. Especially in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Got the daily special, one entree and two sides. I picked the Vegan Ribs, Smoked Collard Greens and Mac and Cheese with a lemonade. The ribs today were more like BBQ chikun pieces, not a formed and shaped Vegan rib with sauce. So if you're thinking that way, think instead multiple chikun pieces in a sweet and flavor BBQ sauce with potatoes, red bell pepper, carrots and onions mixed into the sauce. Good but not ribs in the physical way you could be expecting and I was anticipating. Smoked Greens were delish and perfect. Mac and Cheese was okay. Vegan cheese sauce was lightly sweet, possibly from the plant based milk that's used? That was unexpected. Flavor overall wasn't impactful for me. Elbow macaroni was cooked well though. I ordered a third side, Baked Yams. They were exceptional and did everything that needed to be done to even out this well made meal and balance things. Very good vegan food here. Thank you for the taste and the vibes of Baltimore that you gave this Georgia + Florida girl.

Visiting Baltimore and asked for vegan recommendations so this spot was highly recommended. The coconut curry Cabbage and live Kale with crab cakes...absolutely enjoyed my meal. Highly recommend.

Google
Had the Sunday Brunch Pancakes with Seitan Scramble and Potatoes. Let me start with the best; the breakfast potatoes were amazing! The fried unions and green peppers in the potatoes made them pop with flavor! Same as Momma makes lol. The pancakes were good but too mushy on the inside and crispy on the outside (pan too hot?). The seitan scramble didn’t have any seitan in it lol and was just bland tofu. I will definitely come back to try some of the soul food, crab cakes and mac and greens but this brunch wasn’t the best.

Google
I heard about this spot and had to try it out because I've been eating more plant based foods. Well let me tell you, I don't know what they make the vegan crab cakes from but they are surely delicious. I had greens and yams as sides and they were also delicious.

Google
I love how clever the food names are. The prices are very reasonable. I was blessed with the carrot tuna and curry wrap. My mother enjoyed her Lentil burger and kale salad. We love the artwork on the walls and the employees are very sweet. Thanks again for the great customer service

Google
Soooo gooood! I got the crab cakes, Mac n chz, kale salad. The crab cakes were heaven, dipped in the sauce. Boyfriend got the chickpea burger and it was also tasty. But the best was the sample of ribs! Should have ordered an entire entreé. We will have to come back again. Good people, good food, good vibes (:

Yelp
Cool, funky spot that serves some delicious vegan food. I ordered the BBQ Ribs, collard greens and mac & cheese. All were delicious and filling. I'm happy I stopped here for lunch. Service was friendly and fast. I had my entire meal in less than five minutes.

Yelp
I really appreciate the variety of vegan options at The Land of Kush, and the flavors are definitely soulful. However, I find the food to be consistently very heavy. Every time I dine here, I leave feeling like I've just eaten a full Thanksgiving meal at my grandmother's house. While I know that's the appeal for some, I personally prefer vegan food that feels a bit lighter and more balanced. I'd love to see a few options on the menu that offer that kind of variety.

Yelp
Updated Review! I returned recently to The Land of Kush and I had the absolute pleasure of trying the vegan crab cake wrap. I was blown away! The flavors were perfectly balanced--savory, satisfying, and every bit a testament to the culinary magic happening in their kitchen by the young lady with the loc's who gave me the warmest greeting. The texture of the crab cake was spot-on, giving that authentic "crabby" feel without any of the guilt. The freshness of the wrap ingredients complemented the crab cake beautifully, making for a meal that's as vibrant as it is delicious. If you're looking for a spot that knows how to elevate plant-based cuisine to an art form, look no further. The Land of Kush is officially one if my go-to for amazing vegan eats. Don't walk--run to try this masterpiece! been Stamped by Ai.... #stampedbyAi #trustedsource #trustedadvisor #trustedreview

Yelp
I wish I could give a separate rating for food and then customer service. Whenever I visit Baltimore I have a handful of restaurants I love visiting. My most recent visit to Baltimore I was craving some good hearty vegan food and decided to make a visit to The Land of Kush. The aesthetic was just as culturally pleasing as I remembered. The young man at the counter took my order accurately but that was the extent of good customer service. It seemed as if he was preoccupied during the visit. He made multiple trips to his vehicle which sat across the street. I planned to sit inside the restaurant to eat my food, however, he packed my food to go. Even on my receipt it said "For Here". Once my food order was complete he signaled for me to step to the counter. I asked for plastic utensils. He said it was at the bottom of the bad under the food. How would I know to look under the to go containers for utensils? I asked for more utensils since I had a lot of food and I now have to leave the restaurant because my food was packed to go. While there were other customers coming in but the customer service was not that great. Once group of customers ended up leaving. The food never disappoints. I ordered the BBQ rib tips, mac and cheese, potato salad, collard greens, crab cakes, and the black eyed pea fritters. Everything tasted amazing but I think my favorite were the vegan crab cakes!!!!

Yelp
This spot is close to our home and I saw it had good reviews so decided to check it out! It's small inside, but there is some seating if you choose to eat your food there as we did. The staff were very friendly and willing to answer questions. We ordered curry chickun, baked mac and cheese, and lentil patties. It was a short wait and our food was ready. My bf liked his lentil patties and I liked the taste I had. The mac and cheese is of course different from typical mac and cheese, but I still liked the flavor and texture of it. I loved the chickun curry! I didn't miss meat in this at all; the flavors and textures were awesome. I am not a vegan or vegetarian, but I still enjoy adding meatless meals and more veggies to my diet. I'll definitely return to this spot for more delicious food!

Yelp
I eat all the things, so it's important that the food is good good. I was super excited with each bite I had here and will definitely be telling all my friends about this one. Order: Chickpea burger (my favorite) Cucumber Tomato Salad Chickun Tenders (the dipping sauce on this is addictive) Sesame Spinach Vish sandwich Jollof Rice with Curry on top (a secret recommendation from the staff there) Sweet potato cake We got enough for 3 people--2 platters, a vish sandwich, and dessert--for about $45 which was awesome.

Yelp
So as a vegan this place is vegetarian and I feel like I am out of state and I can tell this place needs to understand vegans better bc the name doesn't live up to the standards of vegan cuisine and lady said it was , then change the name if all is vegan . Potato salad got to go and was sweet wow like I am eating sugar with celery and purple onion and just very creamy mustard mayonnaise and paprika so not great combo for that choice . Potatoes are not fully boiled to bite and hard to the bite . Very delicious others say but I don't like it not cooked well .

Yelp
If Vegan food tastes better than the original counterparts, it'll be easy to go all out vegan. Upon entering this amazing establishment, we were greeted by the owner while classic hip hop music from the early and mid 90's was playing. And then our food came.......we ordered the crab cakes, the ribs, cornbread, and the chicken salad wrap. We got yams and maccaroni as the sides and lemonade and water to drink...Impressed and please are two words I rarely use when describing food, but when you put soul into vegan food, or any food for that matter, it shows. The crab cakes were the show stopper!! I don't know what vegetables one uses to recreate the taste and texture of a crab cake, but hands down, the best crab cakes I've ever eaten and that's regular or vegan for that matter. The ribs had such a sweet and smokey flavor along with the peppers....chefs kiss. The chicken salad wrap was very flavorful, I can't stop praising the food and the people making it happen. I will say that we will definitely return. Bravo Bellissimo

Yelp
Never disappoints. Always fresh, and delicious food. Great service and vibes. Always doing pick up. Order ahead to escape the line.

Yelp
Really the best part of this meal was the strong spiced ginger drink. Everything else was unfortunately underwhelming. The lentil patties were crispy but shared this overly vinegary quality with the collard greens. This worked for the greens but definitely not for the lentil patties. They lacked savoriness for a main course. The mac and cheese had no crust and tasted mainly of nutritional yeast. I felt nice and healthy afterward, but not really flavor-sated.

Yelp
Some of the best vegan food we have ever had. Super friendly staff. Casual, friendly neighborhood vibe.

Yelp
I've been a patron for this restaurant establishment for many years Today I picked up a veggie bean burger, kale, and spinach Also, some sorrel The sorrel was on point as was the food. Thank you for friendly and efficient service.

Yelp
First time trying it and it was ehhh. The sweet potatoes tasted like can sweet potatoes. The Mac and cheese looked super old. It wasn't creamy at all and the cream look like it was curdling. The ribs were delicious though!
google avatar

Lysonia P.

Yelp
My son is vegan and he loved the food. I tried everything myself and was truly surprised how the curry and the ribs tasted like meat. The sweet potatoes were really good aced they kale was delicious. A strong garlic taste in the kale. The service was fast and friendly and the ambience is very casual.

Yelp
Food was so delicious!! Had the ribs and two sides. Portions were generous. Highly recommend giving this a try.

Yelp
Stop what you are doing and head to this spot! I was visiting the area and came across this local vegan restaurant and decided to stop in. Thank God I did. Everything I had was amazing from the Mac N "Cheese" to the curry "chicken" was incredible. I have to say, the coconut curry cabbage was THE BEST. The wonderful woman who took care of us emanated such a sweet, caring, and loving vibe to EVERYONE who came in. I will be returning once more before I head back home. Great experience

Yelp
The food is always delicious. The other day I had the bbq ribs, macaroni & cheese and Jake salad. The Land of Kush never disappoints!

Yelp
Definitely my favorite vegan food spot in Baltimore! The Mac is good and I love the cucumber salad, but the true stand out are the wraps! I personally LOVE the crab cake wrap!!!!! The lentil and chickpea wrap are also incredible!!! What I love about Kush is that they prioritize vegetables! So many vegan spots forget this! All food is made with love and the people working there are kind!!! See you soon, Kush!!!
google avatar

Ameena A.

Yelp
Yet another hidden gem in Baltimore! If you are vegan/gluten free, this spot is absolutely phenomenal. I got the gluten free chickun tenders - which were breaded to perfection. If I ever have a craving for breaded chicken, I will absolutely head here from now on. Also got the potato salad, which was scrumptious! (Photo attached.) My friend got Buffalo chickun with Mac & cheese and also loved it. I haven't yet eaten inside the restaurant (my order was to-go). But, I'm excited to either keep ordering delivery, and/or go in person too!

Yelp
I have yet to have an experience at Land of Kush that is anything less than the best. When my friends came into town for the Orioles game, Land of Kush was the obvious choice for where to go for Sunday brunch. The inside seating in Land of Kush is a little tight, however when we came at 11am there was plenty of window seating available so I got to dine in with my friends. Not only does Land of Kush offer some of the best food in Baltimore, but the owners are also pinnacles in the vegan community. They started Black Veg Society, Maryland Vegan Restaurant Month, and donate fresh produce to those that need it on Monday's. This business gives so much to Baltimore, and it gives me joy to support them. Sunday is the only day that they serve brunch. I ordered a strawberry pancake with vegan sausage and potatoes. The pancake is so crispy! I love that the pancake can tolerate a good pour of syrup without turning into mush. This pancake had huge chunks of strawberries which were such a treat to enjoy. I loved the flavor and texture of this pancake. The vegan sausage was my favorite sausage I have ever had. The inside was nice and soft, it wasn't greasy, and the flavor was spot on to a maple breakfast sausage. The sausage also had some peppers and potatoes with it which I loved and help lighten the heavy side. The potatoes were amazing. They are not a hash brown. They are live crispy smashes potatoes. I loved the seasoning and also how they were both soft with crispy edges. This meal was $15.20 and I could only eat half of my meal before getting full. I took the leftovers home to my husband and he devoured it! He told me I was the best wife for bringing home Land of Kush. We love this business and the food so much. Thank you Land of Kush for your delicious menu and service to the vegan community.

Yelp
food was incredible - really loved the vegan crab cake, jolloff rice, and greens. what really made this place though was how lovely the owners. highly recommended.

Yelp
The food is incredibly fresh and tasty, the service friendly and prompt, and the atmosphere welcoming! I was in town for business, and a friend brought me here. So thankful he did! If you're vegan as I am, and want a fantastic, fresh new meal don't walk, but run to The Land of Kush! Thank you gentlemen!
google avatar

Yelp
The service is good and cashier is always nice and gets through the 2 or 3 ahead of me quickly each time I visit. The mac n chz is a household favorite. The crab cakes are very good and have great texture. The ribs had an undertone or aftertaste I can't explain- but I didn't care for it. Everyone else loved it! The chickpea burger was a little too soft / mushy texture- again apparently I'm the only one with the texture problem because it's a household favorite. So- try them out and see what you think. There are lots of options to choose from!

Yelp
I've had several lunches catered by Land of Kush and it has been more than amazing every time. And just recently made my way in to the storefront for the first time. Honestly, everything I've tried has been a win! My recommendations is to go all in on the sides - sooo delicious! And on top of that, Vegan? But if you aren't vegan, you won't even know you are eating vegan... it truly is a work of art. The chickpea curry is amazing. The mac & cheese is fantastic. The greens are delicious. The cornbread... don't even get me started. YUM. And thanks to their very kind annual birthday treat, I've now tried their desserts - I stopped in with my birthday coupon to get a free dessert, couldn't choose between the two and ended up purchasing a pumpkin spice cake and a cookies and creme cake. BOTH ARE FANTASTIC! Ok, food is obviously a 5 for me. Now the people - well, they get a 6/5! :) So friendly every time I've ordered and in the store, I was greeted with the warmest welcome, things moved quickly, and everyone seemed great. I highly recommend Land of Kush!

Yelp
Ok, everything I had was phenomenal. Chickpea burger, collard greens, and jollof rice. It was hard to choose because everything sounded delicious. I also had a lovely green smoothie that I was too full to drink but I did anyways because it was so good!

Yelp
Amazing vibes the second we walked in. Quintessentially Black with amazing food. I loved the combo of curry chikun and jollof rice! Love love love

Yelp
I have been eating land of Kush since I went to college in Baltimore. I remember distinctly the takeout vegan Mac and cheese I would get frequently! I finally went back after moving back and got some takeout. It was easy to find street parking across the street. the service was speedy prepare my order! I got some yams, Mac and cheese, and bbq ribs! The ribs were so flavorful!! the mac and cheese is just as good! I added a little hot sauce at home which was great! I look forward to trying more of the menu as I'm able! as a vegetarian, it's so exciting to be included when eating good soul food! Also-- you get SO much food for a good price! I ate this for at least 2 meals-- so it's so worth it!
google avatar

Alise G.

Yelp
The Land of Kush gives you an entirely different perspective from what you would traditionally expect out of a vegan restaurant. Vegan soul food is now a part of my diet. The food here is flavorful and healthy. The staff here are friendly and allow you to sample most of their dishes. My favorites include the KUSH BBQ "Ribs", the Curry ChickUn, the Live Kale salad and the Pina Colada'd Dream Smoothie. I have also tried the mac and cheese, this was a bit too sweet for me. The portion sizes are big and the prices are reasonable. I suggest calling ahead to place your order. Sometimes they are out of items, especially closer to closing time. Seating is limited inside the restaurant. I highly recommend the Land of Kush if you are looking for some good vegan food.

Cody B.

Yelp
10 out of 10 top spots I've had a vegan meal from!!! It was scary how good the food was. Gratitude and a big Asé
google avatar

Melinda A.

Yelp
I was very excited to try land of Kush after asking other vegans for their recommendations. The inside of the "ribs" was great but the BBQ sauce was too sweet. The mac and cheese was pretty good but the flavor was a bit off (maybe too fermented?), the rice and beans were very hard and grainy. I had the strawberry cheesecake because the dessert I wanted was out and it was a bit grainy and underwhelming. I really wanted to love this place but sadly was underwhelmed.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful vegan restaurant. The meal is delicious, has a ton of flavor and beautiful textures, and there are many options to choose from. It doesn't taste like typical vegan food. Their "Curry Chickun" and barbecue ribs are definitely two of my favorites. You should definitely look them up, show your support, and occasionally eat vegan. It's time that carnivores, vegans, and vegetarians have additional options in addition to the wonderful service and good food they offer. I appreciate you and send you all my love. Since I haven't tried everything, I'm giving them four stars. Updates coming shortly

Antoine H.

Yelp
The food has changed recently I've been coming here for over 10yrs. I just ordered my usual after about a year hiatus from my last experience. The food definitely has a new chef/cook who is different from the usually delicious food. I would say from 9/10 to 5/10 . The vegan crab cakes have improved! But my favorite potato salad in the world is gone!!! The kale salad is fair compared to the old. I will miss the potato salad though!

Yelp
I was starving after not eating since the night prior due to a procedure. Since I was in the Baltimore area, I decided to try their infamous vegan restaurants. After reviewing comments and wanting to step outside of my ordinary vegan cuisine, I decided on The Land of Kush. They have a great reputation for having the best vegan soul food. Being from the great state of North Carolina, I thought I'd put that to the test. The is limited parking so please ensure that you are parked on the right side or pay metered parking. I was promptly greeted by staff, however, being an art enthusiast I decided to take a look at the fabulous pieces. As I was looking at the wall art, I couldn't help but groove to the neo soul genre of music playing in the background. I eventually ended up at the counter to request a menu. Decided to check in on yelp and to my surprise a 10% off coupon popped up. Yeeeeaaaahhhh for me. I show the guy at the register. Asked for suggestions to order. Ended up with rib tips, Mac & cheese, collard greens, chicken tenders, and crabless cakes (don't judge me). Oh I forgot, I ordered carrot cake but left it at the restaurant. The food was delicious. The Mac & cheese could use some smoke vegan Gouda but that's just my opinion. Overall things were delicious. Special thanks to Karon and Derrick for ensuring that I had a great dinner. One last thing, this place has a rewards/ points system which is great for locals and those that frequent the restaurant to earn money off.

Ariel C.

Yelp
My favorite vegan spot in Baltimore. The best ever seriously I love it sooooooooooooooo much

Tina B.

Yelp
I am not a vegan, but this was some of the tastiest food I've had in a long time. We ordered 2 platters. The platters consist of 1 entree and 2 sides. We got crab cakes, ribs, jollof rice, greens, sweet potatoes, and mac and cheese. Everything tasted good and I will definitely be back. If you are on the fence about going here, let me help you over that fence by telling you to go, it's worth your time.
google avatar

Jamie F.

Yelp
nice staff, he was really helpful being 1st time in a vegan restaurant. He gave me a nice sample platter. I got the curry chicken platter. Next time, I'm getting the rib platter. parking is okay.

Yelp
I stopped in today. I was taken back at how dirty the entire restaurant was. Run down too. This place never used to look like this. I couldn't bring myself to eat food prepared in those conditions. Although it has been a minute - I was a regular for years. Why did they stop caring? I will try again - but this looked way worse than just having a bad Monday.

Yelp
Been craving this food since I left. Ordered one of everything and ate for three days. I wish I could fly back to Baltimore just for the hot wings, potato salad and mac. Everyone was so nice and even tho good food takes time this was out and hot in about 15mins. The cafe is super comfortable and full of memorabilia and art. I'd go back and sit at the bar and start with kale salad and work my way down the menu again. Thanks for feeding me so well while I was living in a hotel. Real vegan grub!

Chickeshia B.

Yelp
Yes sis!!!! As I set here looking at the parking garage across the street...‍I look over my shoulder,,, hheeyyy!!!! You did you mmmmmmmffff!!!! Thinnngggg!!!! Nocap!!! Outstanding!!!! The best!!!!! It's a must try!

Krys S.

Yelp
Amazing combination of gluten-free, vegan, and delicious. The crab cakes were the best I have ever had, which is a feat since they had neither flour nor meat in them. Keep up the amazing job, and see you next time we hit Baltimore!

Yelp
Yes I recommend this food to anyone that likes to eat vegan food.. the curry chicken is my favorite or one of my favorites I would definitely recommend that

Yelp
I am not vegan. My partner and I came to Baltimore and were told to make sure we have the crab cakes. When looking up "crab cakes" on a travel app, this was one of the first places to pop up. It looked local and loved so we decided to try it. We didn't read thoroughly enough to know it was vegan before we got in. Park on the street, fairly easy to find a spot. We walked in and there was such a warm welcome. They asked if we were picking up or dining in, and we said we were dining in. The gentleperson at the cash registry asked if we wanted to try anything. We asked to try the kush ribs, mac and cheese, and the crab cakes. It's like everything we tried was just as good or better than the previous one. We ordered a few things off the menu to try. Crab cakes have this yummy curry taste that I love! The Kush ribs (we had to ask if they were sure they were vegan) were juicy, packed with flavor, and just made my tummy happy. The mac and cheese was such a good compliment to the kush ribs although I could order them a la carte. We also had a sesame ginger side which was a little saltier than I like (and I like salt a lot). The cucumber salad was also a bit underwhelming but the caveat here is I don't really care for cucumbers and would rather never eat tomatoes... so take that into consideration. They happened to have some hibiscus tea which I was overjoyed to indulge in. We really loved this place, loved the food, loved the art on the walls, loved the service and would absolutely go back.

Yelp
Everything on the menu is great! I was in town for 6 days and ate here 3 of them! The portions are generous and I was able to eat on meals twice at times. While here, we had the Ribs, mac and cheese, collared greens, cabbage, potato salad, crab cakes (with yum yum sauce), curry chicken, sweet potatoes, and cinnamon roll. Favorite was the ribs! They were the best vegan ribs I've ever had. The mac was so tasty as well. I don't know how they did the cheese, but they definitely got the flavors down. The crab cakes were something I was craving all week so I'm glad I got them from here as the taste was amazing! They were like muffins in size and inside it actually looked like there was crab in there! And the yum yum sauce, even tho it didn't need it, gave a nice touch to the cake. We heated the cinnamon roll up when we got to our hotel and it too was sweet and delicious. Overall, I wish I could take this restuarant back to Atlanta with me so they could cater all my holiday meals. If you are in the Baltimore area TAKE ADVANTAGED of this place. They cook like they are cooking for family. And the drink's are refreshing as well. I had a lemonade mixed with sorrell and it was the perfect ending to my meal.

Yelp
I love the Candied yams and collard greens. The woman saw I was on the fence about my sides and gave me a sample. The mac & cheese really delicious.

Jim A.

Yelp
Live Kale and the 'ribs' are very tasty, friendly staff. Definitely a worthwhile vegan option.
google avatar

Yelp
The service was awesome, it was our first time there and they gave us free samples of delicious food without even asking! Kind beautiful staff with delicious food!!

Yelp
I've heard many great things about this restaurant, so I'm glad I finally got the chance to visit. They were unfortunately out of their crab cakes, which I was really looking forward to, so I instead ordered the bbq ribs wrap. It was very good, and I'm glad I ordered it. My food came out in a very timely manner, but I was disappointed with the lack of friendliness from the staff. The customer service was just lacking... but it could've been just a bad day, I don't know. I'll definitely return for a visit, but I hope the customer service is better next time.

Yelp
LIP! SMACKIN! GOOD! Let me be honest, I know that I am vegan but I am hesitant when it comes to trying vegan food because it really does matter who is cooking in the back. They put they FOOT in that food. Lordt! All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very clean. It was a bit smaller than I anticipated but I think it plays strongly because it makes the atmosphere for warm and intimate. We were able to get our food right away and it was nice and hot. I was even able to get my friend who is a picky eater and has never had vegan food to pay compliments to the chef. Can we talk about the price for a second. I love the fact this restaurant gives you a mountain of food for a verrrrry good price. Most times, I feel like I am being robbed for what I am getting. $30 bucks for both of the trays of food combined. Absolutely well worth it. I will be coming back in the future to get more food.
