The Landseer Arms

The pub is set in a gentrified residential area next to a small park. A friend and I stopped in for a pint of beer while exploring pubs in the area, it was mentioned in one of the good beer guides we had looked at. The pub seems very nice, plenty of seating inside and out, the outer frontage reminded me of a more European vibe, inside the pub was not as traditional as the facade suggested. It was quite bustling for lunchtime on a Sunday. We did not stop long enough to eat but the food we saw being brought out looked very good and there was an extensive menu chalked up on a wall. May consider returning for a longer stay in the future. It was very nice on the summers day we visited. The pub is dog friendly. Worth a visit if in the area I think.

A great local pub with good deals and really standout food! It’s a rotating menu, so you never know what you’ll get, but there are always lots of options (including great vegetarian ones) and the food is always incredible!

🚇 Archway 🍺 £6.30 Victoria Malaga A Relaxing Backstreet Local. The Landseer Arms is located in a quiet residential backstreet in Upper Holloway, North London. The nearest Tube is Archway, it’s a ten minute walk to get here. This pub started life as The Stanley Arms and was built in 1871. The pub was renamed as The Landseer Arms in 2017, it is run by Stanley Pubs who are a small PubCo that also run five other pubs across North London. This is a spacious one bar pub that has two adjoining rooms. The servery is centrally located, simple in appearance and has a modern metro tiled back bar. The bar area is horseshoe shaped, at the front is the main bar area which has plenty of rustic tables and chairs and is bathed in light from the tall picture windows. The back room has an open kitchen, a few tables and chairs and a beautiful atrium above. The overall decor is minimal with a punch of colour provided by large paintings adorning the walls. At the front of the pub are a number of benches to imbib alfresco, an awning provides shade if you need it. This Freehouse has a superb selection of beers including four cask ales to choose from, there is a great representation of Independent London Breweries here. None of my usually chosen Burton brewed continental lager was available, so I took an advised punt on a pint of Victoria Malaga. I absolutely loved it, what a great lager, price point was a smidge above average. The food menu is Mediterranean inspired and will please the gastronomes amongst you. The chalkboard in the bar lets you know what’s available. I arrived around 1pm on a mild Saturday lunchtime in January. There was a relaxed chilled vibe with a lovely local pub feel. The punters ranged from a group of young families having a get together, a solo imbiber nursing a glass of red wine plus a few couples. The service here is fantastic, I got great advice on beer choice, I spoke with a member of the team about the pub, he was a lovely chap who was friendly and courteous. Although this pub serves up amazing food, this is not a food centric Gastro. The @landseerarms is your bonafide backstreet local that offers a great choice of beer, simple and pleasant surroundings and a team of people who will look after you during your stay. Beef sandwich was amazing. After one year, stake sandwich and again I am very happy. I think this is the best in Islington what you can find. Update I try steak and again I am happy Today my choice was lunch menu Pork Belly that was perfect choice

I love spontaneously coming here on weekday evenings when it's quiet. Whether it's for a glass of wine and some small side dishes or a proper meal. I'm never disappointed! The food is so delicious and they have a great selection of drinks. Atmosphere is lovely and chill. Highly recommend!

I consider myself to be super lucky to have this pub close to home. Apart from it being a really beautiful place — they are super dog friendly and I train my dog to stay calmly in pubs there. The team is amazing and welcoming and overall it’s a blessing to have such a spot.

My favourite pub in North London! Great choice of local beers, amazing friendly staff and delicious food! Well done to management and chefs! I can also recommend going there on (not sure if it was Tuesday or Wednesday) when they invite a band to play live. It’s a great experience together with the cosiness of the interior and warm hearted food 👏🏼❤️🙋‍♀️

The pub is one of my favs so far tbh! I really appreciate the sense of humour of the bar-woman serving us multiple times! The food was really fresh very well presented, very good prince (my bf paid-lol). Even though, my dish was vegan…and I’m. It vegan, I just really enjoyed it! Well done guys! See you next time!
