Authentic cuisine from Cuban culture is served here, like visiting a friend in Cuba!
The name of this eatery refers to the many dishes that feature ham, pork, or both. Spain's conquistadors arrived 500 years ago, with live pigs to sustain themselves. This food legacy remains as well as the Spanish language.
Set in a stripmall, right along Coit Road, with parking a bit of challenge. There is better chance to park to the south of the building, with a short walk.
Seating for up to 30, small booths for 4 are comfortable, then there are small tables, and 2 child high chairs.
Staff is very warm & welcoming "Mi Casa es Su Casa". Study the menu online ahead of visiting, or scan the QR code at your table.
My visit was to test the Cuban Sandwich, "El Cubano", one of my favorite meals. I am sampling the DFW Metroplex to see who has the best Cubano!
First, I felt at home, relaxed, and ready to eat. I had read the great reviews online, looked at photos, now I get to Eat.
This Cubano is prepped in the correct order to make the Mustard and the Pickle juice enhance the cheese flavor, then Boom!, the ham & pork juices jump into your taste buds. Perfection!
And the pickle slice here is made in-house with good seasoning, and light bite for the added texture contrast. So much in one sandwich!
This Cubano came with fries that were excellent.
I also sampled the stout Cuban coffee, served in traditional small cup, was excellent. The owner also wanted me to try their Cuban Rice, along with Puerto Rico style "Arroz con moros" rice, both very flavorful.
Many other traditional Cuban dishes are served here.
Latin Pig also serves the vegetarian dishes of Fried Plantain, yucca, and salads.
Dessert: the island's empanadas, stuffed & fried turnover pastries, with fruit and/or creme cheese, and other selections.
So far, this is the best Cubano in DFW that I have found. I will keep searching to make sure !
