9/10 The ambiance was set perfectly with pictures, paintings, and other Cuban elements. The food was delicious and was brought out very quickly, despite the restaurant being full of guests. The host was friendly, informative, and set a welcoming tone. We ordered the Cubano, which was perfectly balanced with the ideal amounts of each signature ingredient, Yucca Frita, which was carefully finished with flaky salt, Tostones Rellenos, which were served in a pair and the plantain cups were delicately flaky and carrying a rather large serving of tender delicious brisket, Guandules (yellow rice) which was cooked with pigeon peas and sofrito which gave it much more flavor than plain rice. I would reccomended all of the dishes, but the Cubano and the Tostones Rellenos stood out for sure. I doubt you could go wrong ordering anything here, though! We will definitely be back to try more dishes and leave room for desserts next time.

If you want delicious Cuban food, for amazing prices and fantastic service - this is the place. It makes sure I don’t miss my Miami Cuban food it is that good. 10000% recommend. $10-$20 will fill you up for hours.

Google
it was too expensive for the type of service you walk up to a counter where you feel unwelcome. The small restaurant is dirty. this restaurant has a lot of potential because of food was great but now I wonder about the kitchen.. It would be nice if someone would welcome you and tell you to take a seat wherever you like.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently dined at The Latin Pig, Cuban Cuisine, and it was an incredible experience that transported me straight to Cuba! For starters, the Arroz Congri was perfectly seasoned, combining black beans and rice in a delightful harmony of flavors. The Arroz con Gandules was equally impressive, bursting with the rich, savory taste of pigeon peas that paired wonderfully with the tender rice. The main dishes were the stars of the show! The Ropa Vieja was stunning—slow-cooked beef with vibrant spices that practically melted in my mouth. The Picadillo offered a comforting blend of ground beef, olives, and spices. The Fried Plantain just how it’s supposed to be cooked, and for the sweet tooth the Coconut Flan and Vanilla Flan, creamy and sweet! And to top it off, the service, warm and welcoming! I could’ve given 50 stars if I could!!!

Google
I had the pleasure of dining at this Cuban restaurant, and I must say, the experience was truly unforgettable. The food was absolutely delicious - every bite brought back warm memories of home. From the perfectly seasoned dishes to the authentic flavors, it felt like being back in Cuba, sharing a meal with family. What made it even more special was the service. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, treating us not just as customers but like old friends. Their warmth and hospitality made the whole experience even more meaningful. If you're looking for a place that serves amazing Cuban food and makes you feel at home, this is it. Highly recommended!

Soo good! My daughter and I had chicken mofongo, tostones, and the chicken flaca sandwich. Felt like we were back in Puerto Rico! So grateful to have found this place since moving from CA to TX. We’ve been missing it! ♥️♥️

Yelp
Here is the skinny. About as authentic tonCuban food as it gets without my mom cooking it. Everything from the Pan con Mantequilla, to tostones and the Vaca Frita. Did finish it off with some Flan. So my only Jab will be the flan. It was ok but unfortunately I was comparing it to my mom's. If you want something specifically off the menu call ahead or check online in case they ran out.

Yelp
Walk in and dude walked right by me to greet the couple that came in after me. I left after he bypassed me a second time to tell them let him know when they were ready to order. Didn't feel welcome.

Yelp
Everything I put in my mouth always fantastic. The Pan Lechon Sandwich along with some au jus was sooooooo good and tender. I want to go back and try everything! Staff was very sweet.

Yelp
This place is a stable for us. Moved to Plano recently and was excited to see Cuban food within a block of our home. The food is fresh, tastes amazing, and rivals Cuban food you can get in Miami.

Yelp
So worth the 30 min drive from Dallas We decided to take a drive to Plano and while in the area we looked for Cuban food and boy we were happy to find this place and not disappointed at all. The guy inside was so helpful served us and made my coffee I ordered to go. Which by the way the coffee was perfect. Just like the food. We ordered the lechón plate, plátanos rellenos and a steak sandwich. The food was cooked with amazing flavor and we were so happy to finally find a Spanish, Cuban food place. We will be back and can't wait.

Yelp
Nice stop for a Cuban fix. Flavors are good and the staff makes you feel like you're gonna have an experience.

Yelp
The service here is spectacular, which is hard to find in a casual counter order establish. The owner was super kind, and patient while we waited for another member of our party (especially when things were busy the day before Father's Day). The restaurant was clean, and had a handful of tables for patrons. We ordered a couple of dishes to try, and both the vaca fritas and crispy chicharon were so good! We devoured every inch of that plate! We ordered a few dishes to try between us.

Yelp
Love the food here, a bit expensive but feels authentic and it's delicious. Ropa vieja, lechon, fritanga are all really great.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
The food here really hit the spot ! I loved the lechon asado paired with plantains. My boyfriend had the ropa vieja and it was *chefs kiss* These dishes taste super authentic and just make you feel warm inside. Pricing is great and super affordable, make sure you stop by for lunch!

Yelp
We met some friends here on a Saturday night. It is a little hole in the wall in a strip mall. But don't be fooled. The food is delicious. We started with the Tostones and Plantains for appetizers. They were fried perfectly. For the main dish, we shared at Cuban Sandwich, Biestec, and Beef Guisado. The place was pretty packed but the service was prompt. The food was delicious. The ambience is casual. We will return again.

Yelp
Years ago this was among the best Cuban food I've ever had. Today the food here is so disgustingly bad that they should be ashamed of themselves for serving it. Came here at 5pm on a Saturday and the place was completely empty, no customers, no employees. I stood around for a minute trying to figure out what we're supposed to do and a very rude and disinterested employee came out. They have no menu and make you find their online menu with your phone, but then you can't order with your phone. Very stupid and confusing. I ordered the sampler. 20 long minutes later, it was missing the plantains, had completely inedible pork, some chicken bones with no meat, a raw potato, a raw carrot, and some ground meat mixed with raw carrots and other raw vegetables. They actually managed to screw up 5 different things and put it on my plate. If I hadn't paid in advance, I would have walked out without paying. I ended up eating none of the garbage that they served me and instead left and went to eat someplace else. What a miserable, sad excuse this place has become.
google avatar

Kelsey R.

Yelp
Good food and great coffee! Will be coming back to this gem! This location has a more hole in the wall vibe. Less crowded which is always nice!
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
The food continues to be outstanding. I had the steak with onions and it was very good. The overall service has gone down. Now you pay upfront at the counter and they deliver to your table. Their plastic forks and knifes are a real downer. Previously they had metal forks and knifes. I think this is a mistake. I felt like the cheap plastic fork was going to break at any moment. Also, they now serve their black beans in a 1 ounce plastic cup. This was really tacky. There are certain things you should not change. Beans were previously served along with the rice on the plate and not in some tiny 1 ounce plastic cup. The service experience was unimpressive. Why try to save a few bucks and end up upsetting the overall experience.

Yelp
This hole in the wall Latin spot is a new favorite. The old fashioned ambiance, the friendly staff, and the exquisite food make me forget that I'm in Plano. It's a wonderful place, and while the extremely authentic menu may be hard for the average American to understand the staff are eager and happy to help or recommend. They were also very accommodating to my large group that was with me.
google avatar

Jason M.

Yelp
If you're from South America or you like the food from there, I definitely think that you will like the food here. Yes, it is a small spot, but some people might consider this to be a huge selling point because the noise level is minimal so you're able to have a conversation with someone without distractions! If you love chicken, try Pollo Guisado!

Gina L.

Yelp
My husband had been craving a cuban sandwich and when I searched for cuban sandwich, this place came up! Amazingly delicious food! I had the rope vieja sandwich, my husband the cuban sandwich and the most delicious fried yucca!
google avatar

Kit R.

Yelp
Ordered Yuca fries and the Sandwich Cubano via UberEats delivery. I ordered extra pickles and I highly recommend doing that if you love pickles! This was such a fantastic meal! The sandwich was PERFECT and honestly I nearly inhaled it which meant my poor Yuca fries got cold. They were still pretty decent especially with the dipping sauce sent with them. But I think they'd be much better fresh so likely not a choice for delivery which is pretty typical for fries. But the sandwich! I am hooked. Looking forward to trying more of their dishes and treats!

Yelp
I really love this place. The mofongo is so good! I really love the congri, so much so that I crave it on a regular basis.

Yelp
Excellent service and the food is amazing! Very cute restaurant serving authentic and delicious Cuban cuisine. This is one of my favorite restaurants!!

Yelp
I''ve ordered from here a number of times and ate at the restaurant for the first time recently. Finally getting around to reviewing. Bistec was very flavorful. Maduros were the right amount of seeet. I had the mofongo lechon (mashed plantains with garlic and other spices, pork, and some broth) which I've ordered many times. It was great. Excellently flavorful and not dry. The broth it came with was a great complement. Everything was cooked perfectly. Mofongo is my favorite PR dish and it's done well here- I highly recommend it. Service was super- very friendly, good advice, and attentive. I'll definitely be back and hopefully will update this with other items- assuming I can have the willpower to forego my favorite dish.

Yelp
Their cuisine is delicious! Enjoyed every bite for sure. I wasn't too crazy about a couple of their sauces but their specialty Latin Pig sauce was more than delightful! it was my first time having a Cubano & couldn't wait for the first bite. didn't regret it one bit. very savory & the flavors were there. can't wait for next experience with them!

Yelp
I come here for the coffee. Dark roast without the bitterness. I get the cafe con leche. It is always the same gentleman who works here. I believe he is the owner. The restaurant is decorated with Cuban art, photos, and music. It is a wonderful place.

Yelp
I get up in Florida and this has been the BEST Cuban sandwich I have had since leaving! I felt at home and the food was to die for! The bread was so crispy and perfect! The mustard and pickles were just amazing! I can't express how amazing this place is!
google avatar

Chris O.

Yelp
I have loved this place for a long time, and didnt want to share the secret where it might get too busy lol! Amazing Latin food that hasn't disappointed yet. The Cuban sandwich and the beef piccadillo are two of my favorites! Amazing taste combinations are paired perfectly with a heirloom house made hot sauce. Please go support this amazing local business!!
google avatar

Yelp
The most authentic cuban food you can find in the Plano area. I ordered a cubano sandwich, and I tried really hard to eat it slowly, but dang, it was just awesome!!! If you are in the area and want to enjoy really good cuban food, this is the place. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Yelp
The Latin pig is a delicious hidden gem. Tucked in a strip mall, you can't believe how scrumptious their Cuban Classics are!! The in house Hot sauce and mojito sauce made my tastebuds sing and the crunch and near greaselessness (for a pork product) of the Chicarrones were incredible. I've tried making Yuca Fritas myself at home and they are not nearly as good as the fluffy little pillows of yuca here. My Camarones Mofongo was the star. Garlicky bright, rich sauce on perfectly cooked shrimp, peppers and onions with mashed green plantains and yuca. A little sprinkle of chicharrones took it over the top. Great care was taken to perfect these dishes. It's a simple place, but the food speaks volumes on the soul and love of Cuban cuisine! I've eaten Mofongo and yuca as a kid in the kitchen of my neighbors and this took me back there. So many good feelings. Service was great and the restaurant was clean and nicely appointed with touches of Cuban decor. I will be back and can't wait to try more things!

Yelp
Food was good, poor service the guy at that took our order was so rude and unfriendly. It's a nice place, good food, bad service.
google avatar

Gabriel W.

Yelp
This place has great lunch specials and they serve it 7 days a week. I alternate between the Lechon and Pollo myself. They used to come with a plantain, but now I guess they don't. They are priced at $9.99 and are fairly reasonable for a quick bite for lunch. This place is a self order at the counter and then they deliver the food out to you. Their service is quick and the people here are friendly. I like the decor!

Yelp
Authentic cuisine from Cuban culture is served here, like visiting a friend in Cuba! The name of this eatery refers to the many dishes that feature ham, pork, or both. Spain's conquistadors arrived 500 years ago, with live pigs to sustain themselves. This food legacy remains as well as the Spanish language. Set in a stripmall, right along Coit Road, with parking a bit of challenge. There is better chance to park to the south of the building, with a short walk. Seating for up to 30, small booths for 4 are comfortable, then there are small tables, and 2 child high chairs. Staff is very warm & welcoming "Mi Casa es Su Casa". Study the menu online ahead of visiting, or scan the QR code at your table. My visit was to test the Cuban Sandwich, "El Cubano", one of my favorite meals. I am sampling the DFW Metroplex to see who has the best Cubano! First, I felt at home, relaxed, and ready to eat. I had read the great reviews online, looked at photos, now I get to Eat. This Cubano is prepped in the correct order to make the Mustard and the Pickle juice enhance the cheese flavor, then Boom!, the ham & pork juices jump into your taste buds. Perfection! And the pickle slice here is made in-house with good seasoning, and light bite for the added texture contrast. So much in one sandwich! This Cubano came with fries that were excellent. I also sampled the stout Cuban coffee, served in traditional small cup, was excellent. The owner also wanted me to try their Cuban Rice, along with Puerto Rico style "Arroz con moros" rice, both very flavorful. Many other traditional Cuban dishes are served here. Latin Pig also serves the vegetarian dishes of Fried Plantain, yucca, and salads. Dessert: the island's empanadas, stuffed & fried turnover pastries, with fruit and/or creme cheese, and other selections. So far, this is the best Cubano in DFW that I have found. I will keep searching to make sure !

Yelp
Great Cuban sandwich, yuca and pretty much everything there is excellent. The owners are class act and will go above and beyond your expectations. I will go there anytime I can.

Yelp
Best Cuban sandwich I have ever tried, and I am from NY. Small hole in the wall restaurant, reminds me of those bodega's back home but the food is truly amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
Yummy sandwich! I love the Cuban here! Definitely should order one. The flavors contrast well
google avatar

Yelp
Food was delicious. I could not get enough of my mofongo Chicharron ( mashed plantain with fried pork skin). The appetizer with fried yuca & pork was also amazing the red sauce was my favorite. Service was a little slow but they definety have a following the place was packed by the time we left. It is small inside so arrive early to grab a booth.
google avatar

Yelp
Finally found an authentic Cuban sandwich! My husband is from south Florida and grew up having sandwiches in Little Havana, so we can certify that this is the real deal. Service was wonderful and the plantains were delicious also.
google avatar

Yelp
Service friendly, food amazing (best yuca fries I have ever had!!!). We will definitely be back when in the area!

Joshua S.

Yelp
They had a great Cuban sandwich probably one of the best around. Authentic taste and low-key restaurant.

Yelp
Closest thing to Miami and Cuba in this area! Food is great. A bit pricey, but still worth it for the Cuban food experience.

Yelp
Went here with my dad yesterday and wow was I surprised. Food looks good in pictures, but it's even better in person. I used to think my grandpas yucca was paramount... not anymore. Had the fried pork, yucca fries and tostones... ALL FANTASTIC. If you go definitely get the Latin Pig Sauce! Overall rating 8.7/10

Yelp
I used to like this place a lot. We went in today for the first time in a long time. They now have no menus. Online on-line menus. Maybe this works for some people but looking at a good sized menu on a phone is a pain for me, and my wife can't use them at all. Plus they were out of the dishes I was looking forward to. Sadly we walked out. The lack of menus means my wife won't ever go here again.

Lynned F.

Yelp
Best Mofongo in DFW area! The Latin Pig serves up the best Mofongo in the DFW area. Do not sleep on this place. We moved to Texas from Miami and have been on the hunt for a good Mofongo and this place is it. We had the Lechón con Mofongo, Carne Frita con Mofongo, chicharrones with tostones and the kids lechón plates with Gandules. Everything was fresh and so good. The Mongo was just right, not dry, generously stuffed with meat (of your choice), the tostones were extra crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the mojo garlic sauce and caldo were delicious. We left with happy hearts and bellies and will be back often...making the trek from Grapevine!

Yelp
Just visited this place with my husband. The employees were delightful. Extremely nice and helpful. The food was honestly amazing. All meats are tender and fall apart nicely. The flavor is immaculate. Just like all the other views. The Cuban sandwich was definitely amazing. I truly believe you could pick anything on the menu and not go wrong. Definitely try this place. We will be back
google avatar

Yelp
This place is delicious! I had the Cuban and was very tasty. I did notice they offered Cuban coffee so next time I'll be back for that.

Yelp
We got here at 3:15 PM craving your delicious food only to be told the kitchen is closed. Whaaat? I checked twice before driving here what your hours are on Sunday. According to your website you are open until 8:30PM, according to Google you are open until 9:00PM. So, here we are, trying to support local business after the terrible year we had and you just turned us away. I am sorry to tell you we are not coming back.

Shelba P.

Yelp
I ordered the Cuban Sandwich. Made on French bread. It was absolutely horrible and service was worse. Won't be back !!!!

Yelp
Best Cuban coffee & cubano sandwich in Dallas. A true neighborhood staple! Don't sleep on this place ox tails are to die for!

Yelp
Took me too long to try this place. I only began to experience the full delight of Cuban bakeries/cafes in college and was unaware of this gem for those sad earlier years. \\ cubano - this one's a classic - toasted/pressed just barely too hot to hold - i'm usually not a huge fan of those giant American pickles because of their texture, but these crisp thin-sliced pickles really define the sandwich - if the pickles define the sandwich, then the cheese really brings it all together - yum meat-bread-pickle ratio \\ cafe con leche - smooth cup of coffee + milk that no one had to pretend to like - made with espresso prepared the Cuban way--thicker and naturally sweeter (the menu explains it thoroughly) - rich aroma without any of the bitterness or acidity that i've learned to tolerate in other coffee (maybe i appreciate it but sometimes i'm not so sure) \\ guava + cream cheese pastry - so delicious. this pastry is also oh so classic, and the Latin Pig does it so well. - big enough to be shared... but i'd understand if you didn't feel like sharing. Overall, The Latin Pig does a great job of offering a refined slice of Cuban cuisine in Plano.

K D.

Yelp
The gent at the order counter very nice, BUT place was filthy; table top sticky, pendent light globes covered with dust. Makes one wonder how clean the kitchen is. Cuban sandwich okay, but not like Miami by a long shot.

Yelp
This year has been a crazy one for sure. I haven't been able to go to a restaurant inside since march. However I have been ordering food from everywhere to eat at home. Latin Pig in Plano is the perfect place for that. Obviously I may be biased because I love puerto rican food and they have a great selection of our main dishes there and they do a great job! My favorites there are: -Tostones con ajillo -arroz con gandules -pollo guisado -mofongo y carne frita -pastel de guayaba con queso -Café con leche -cubano sándwich This place is a tiny hole in a wall but its so worth it! I used to go with my friend to just have coffee and gauva pastries because they are delicious!! A must have. Also going there reminds me of home. It has that Caribbean latin flavor we have in the island. They have cuban food as well which is similar to Puerto Rican. The place doesn't have a lot of parking since its a small shopping area off custer but I've always managed to find one. I recommend calling first in case there's not a lot of tables available since it is small. Usually every time I've been there its been pretty full. I totally recommend giving this place a try especially if you've never had PR or cuban food before!!

Yelp
I enjoyed an authentic Cubano during my recent visit to Little Havana in Miami. A search for Cuban restaurants in Collin County revealed the Latin Pig, so I decided to give the place a try. As I entered the restaurant, I immediately noticed that except for a small group of patrons at the front, the place was vacant. At lunchtime. This should have raised a flag. After sitting at a table for some time, no server to be found, I stood at the counter for several minutes before someone finally showed up, no greeting, just took my order for the Cubano. An equally unfriendly server just set the plate on my table and walked away. The Cubano was loaded with mustard, overwhelming the otherwise tasteless sandwich. You'll neva see-a me no more!
