The Library at The Detroit Club

I was looking for something close to the convention center and this popped up in my search. And I’m so happy it did! This place is just fantastic. It’s an old building and they retained all of the old world charm. Fireplaces, large windows, high ceilings. And they’ve created a lounge space with couches, low tables, and soft lighting. Beyond that, the food and drinks are top notch! If you go during happy hour… they have one of the best deals I’ve seen in a long time. We split the meatballs and burrito salad. But it was a tough choice to narrow down on what to order. So we’ll be going back to try more! Highly recommend.

Started out as a nice atmosphere until we sat at the bar and was told it was close because the bartender had been there since the am and it wasnt even posted closing time! All we wanted were 3 drinks and we would have been on our merry way🤷🏽‍♀️ not interested in returning. There are other places more welcoming....12/2023

Been here multiple times and always loved my experience here. There's a reason why I always come back. Highly recommend Mike the bartender/manager to make you the most perfect drink for whatever mood you're in! Friendliest guy AND knows his cocktails!

Michael is an AWESOME bartender! I will come back just for his service and his drinks! Everything is amazing! Atmosphere, ambience, but Michael gives another level of service. 😊

Tasty cocktails in a luxurious room with leather chairs and a hip but slightly older clientele. Highly recommended!!

Literally the coziest bar ever. So lowkey and quiet. This is definitely a place I’d wanna bring my iPad and just curl up in a chair and scroll away for hours. They also have a happy hour! I got a margarita and the lamb tacos. Both were really good. I really appreciate the meat being hot on my tacos when my food arrived. I will absolutely, positively be back.

Quiet. We visited the Library mid week in the evening and we were one of only a few people there. The atmosphere was very nice and clubby. The drinks were very well prepared, but we were not a fan of the music selections being played. We liked it enough to try it again and also try the restaurant down the hallway.

It’s my first time at The Detroit Club and couldn’t be more impressed. Michael at the Library Bar is amazing, warm, welcoming and makes the best drinks. They have a great happy hour menu, with great food and drinks. Such a nice, fun, warm and relaxing atmosphere Would 100% recommend this place.

Great ambiance, interesting drinks and attentive servers. Only critique is that the loud music is not congruent with such an upscale, traditional, speakeasy vibe.

Great service, great food. It's large enough so there is rarely a wait! Their pizza is very good, and I often get the fajitas.

Comfortable relaxed environment. Really fantastic staff, they were accommodating and super friendly. We hosted a little impromptu mixer for about a dozen folks after a long conference day and they were very welcoming. Food was small portion apps, and the drinks were good. Would come back again if I'm in Detroit!

Drinks were bad, mine was undrinkable. They did notice and offer to take it back to fix it. It was better after that but still not great. My wife's drink was also just subpar. The atmosphere was mostly great. A cool historic building with live music and comfy furniture. But the ambience was ruined by the syfy channel playing in the corner. I will never be back here again unless something changes.

Beautiful and classy cocktail lounge in downtown Detroit. The bar is located in the Detroit Club, across from a restaurant. The architecture and decor is absolutely stunning! This is the perfect spot for an elegant night out! I don't have any major complaints about service, I thought our bartender was very friendly and helpful. However, we did have to go up to the bar to order and didn't have any servers check in once we were seated. This may just be the atmosphere of the bar though as it's more of a lounge. I ordered the "pretty in purple" cocktail and found this very delicious. I hope to come back soon and check out their restaurant as well!

The Ambiance is amazing and the restoration is very appealing. The food and bar are great for conversations near the large fireplace or while listening to their live entertainment!

I had a fantastic time at The Library in The Detroit Club. The cozy yet exciting ambiance, complete with live background music, created an unforgettable experience. The standout features were the exceptional service and the amazing drinks. The attentive service and the skillfully crafted cocktails by the mixologist truly stood out, making the evening even more enjoyable. The Library has quickly become one of my favorite spots for unwinding with great drinks and impeccable service.

The space is great - a historic building in downtown Detroit. And Nigel is a great, fun bartender.

Located on the Main Floor of the Detroit Club. Great hidden gem here. The atmosphere is an Upscale art deco Grandpa's library kind of decor. Its alaid back but without the stuffy feel. The fireplaces add a nice warmth to the sitting areas. Large couches surround them as well as other smaller conversation seating areas and a bar. You feel like you are in someone's home here. And you don't need to be a member to come in and enjoy a cocktail or two. They have a limited Wine selection and a large Cocktail list as well as a few beer choices. They also have a few food choices.Flatbread Pizzas Charcuterie, Lamb Sliders, Dip. We already had dinner so I can't review the food but it looks good. The atmosphere is where it's at! Upstairs is a Cigar Lounge with a pool table.

Very cool, stylish, classy, OG ambiance. An old school cocktail bar. I would definitely return here.

Really cute, but the bartender was not the greatest... He was very nice but he said he wasn't the regular bartender so he didn't really know how to make most drinks. The place itself is super cute tho! I went there with my friends and the atmosphere is so nice! I loved just sitting there and chatting with my friends

Was excited to come here for a date night with the better half, the drinks are delicious and the atmosphere is very classy, the staff was very nice.

I came in on a Saturday night with some friends for dinner at the Bohemia and we stayed after for drinks at the library bar. There was live music and the atmosphere was great. Very elegant and cozy at the same time. Service was great and the staff throughout the building were lovely. Would definitely recommend for dinner and drinks and they even have a hotel if you wish to stay downtown.

Finished a delicious dinner at the restaurant of the Detroit Club and moved upstairs to the library. Very nice atmosphere to enjoy a cigar and beverage. Not a large selections of cigars, but excellent brands that were reasonably priced. The bar tender knew how to light one and mixed a good beverage. Great end to a great meal.

THIS PLACE IS EVERYTHINGGGGGG OK wait.... this review is possibly premature because I have not actually EATEN here. But I liked it so much that I have to tell you to go here.... and I'm definitely going back for the food cause the menu looked bomb!! So let's get into it.... Street parking & valet available It's nestled inside the Detroit Club, which I had never heard of, but definitely need to get into. The service was excellent from the front door to reception to the bar and everyone else I engaged with. The atmosphere is sexy & romantic, but also formal and business-y. It's a vibe! I sat at the bar with my friend having cocktails before a tasting. There was a couple in the corner having hors d'oeuvres. There were a group of folks sitting around a cocktail table having a business meeting. Meanwhile a fireplace was ablaze setting the tone for whatever you like. It's totally decked out to feel like a library you want to chill in! Our cocktails were amazing and our bartender was charming! Loved everything about it! We went about 5:30PM on a Weds and it wasn't crowded. The bar has a great menu, but if you're looking for a sit down dinner there's a restaurant inside the Detroit Club as well! Enjoy! Tell em La sent ya!

Love the dark quiet mysterious vibe here. Drinks are amazing! Great place for a cozy romantic date or group of close friends. Sit at the bar of you can. Fun to watch the mixologist craft cocktails. Been here twice now. Not disappointed. There is a restaurant down the hall but we have not tried it yet. This would be a great place to wait for your table.

We had a wonderful time. We were celebrating our anniversary with a few friends. The place is gorgeous and the drinks were wonderful.
