The Light Bar - Review - Shoreditch - London - The Infatuation

"If you’re a fan of good cocktails, cold pints, or landmark buildings with a stellar history of being a Victorian Power Station (electricity is our passion), then you’ll like The Light Bar. Set over three floors, it’s a huge space that somehow still manages to feel intimate thanks to all of the cosy candlelit corners around the edge of the ground floor. That being said, there are plenty of big group tables available and although you might expect your classic pub fare, the menu actually offers up Mediterranean small plates, some decent handmade pasta, and seasonal options like wild turbot. Whether you’re heading here for a martini-fuelled date or booking dinner for 10 hungry colleagues, know that this place is an easy crowd-pleaser and their terrace is an excellent shout in the summer. Just be sure to book ahead as it gets busy." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

This bar features a beautiful outdoor terrace where you can enjoy your meal and drinks with your coworkers or friends. You are welcome to stay outside until 10 pm; after that, due to licensing restrictions, you will need to move inside. The waitstaff is friendly, and the manager checks in to ensure you are having a good time. If you encounter any issues, the manager will make every effort to resolve them and ensure your experience is enjoyable. I would definitely come back once the weather improves.

food was excellent . I went for a smoke with my business associate and asked staff to not clear table but they did and removed my guniess. I was bit upset and told them about the issue I was told please take the drinks with you next time 🤔 And they replaced them with new ones . Beside that it was a good visit . It was also my birthday 🎂

Love the place, very creative cooking style, great flavors, awesome service and love the choice of music as well. Only downside there is restroom on the same floor, so the accessibility is not very good.

Visited the Light Bar for their Sunday Lunch Roast set menu. The restaurant is housed in a renovated Engine Home and still displays some original features. The main dining room is large, light and airy. The set menu offers 2/3 courses. The Sunday Roast selection was Pork loin, Beef and Chicken served with a vegetables and a rather nice Spiced Cauliflower cheese. The food was quite good as too the service. Only negative was that lettuce salad was served with the roast as part of the vegetables. Certainly a good offer at £30:00pp.

We came here for Sunday roast and had the 50% nudge offer for the £30 set menu. I had the spiced cured trout (nice flavour) and the beef sirloin (perfectly cooked beef but there was quite a bit of fat on it) with spiced cauliflower cheese (such a good side), beef fat roast pink firs (perfectly cooked) and mixed leaf salad. I'd return even at full price, however I noticed that the roast was smaller than the usual portion size for a Sunday roast. The service was extremely attentive and friendly!

I work locally & needed sustenance. Popped into my local Light bar & boy the food is delicious. The mushroom starter, the Porchetta was so good but the cauliflower & the salad dressing was soooo tasty I could have just eaten that. Service is always great here. Never fails whether just for drinks or for a simple but absolutely delicious menu. Do try !

This is such a great spot in Shoreditch. I have dined here a number of times and the food, atmosphere and service gets better and better. Sunday roasts are fantastic and there is a great wine list too! Highly recommend!
